👽 Okay this is a hot take - but legendaries are not gods. I had a great discussion with some friends about this recently. Pokemon comes from a very different culture and understanding of religion than western media. Christianity has a long history of persecution in Japan - it has basically no cultural impact by comparison to Europe and America beyond pop culture use of christian iconography. There are Christians in Japan, but they make up 1-2% of the population.

If I were to sit down and write out a religion for - let's say the Kimono Girls and the Tin Tower Monks - I would turn to Shinto or Buddhist traditions for inspiration rather than Christian and Catholic dogma (which I am arguably more familiar with being a white person living in the Americas.)

The funny thing is that this isn't really a hot take looking at Pokemon canon. People really don't know anything about Arceus, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, ect (which is like the closest we have to proper deities). The legendaries that are acknowledged aren't treated like omnipotent beings - more like powerful creatures to be respected and appeased. Would be kinda weird if your god could choke on a ratatta and die or get bodied by a 12 year old and their weird dog.

So yea. Long story short - Honey doesn't think Ho Oh is a god. She thinks it's a powerful pokemon that should be nurtured, and its home defended so that it returns to Ecruteak and uses it's awesome power in the service of the people. Her hometown of Blackthorn worships Dragons - which are clearly not gods but are still powerful and worthy of appeasement and tribute. Do what you want with your own character's beliefs but consider it. Could be fun to expand cultural horizons.

Or just make Arceus "Poke-Jesus", I'm not your mom.

What's your absolute favorite way to have slowpoke tails?

Honestly for me, I go for the less choice tails with more separation between the fat and flesh. This is on purpose. When I toss it into the slow cooker to stew in spices and aromatics all day, all that fat melts and disperses and absorbs all the flavor, then soaks back into the tail, while still preserving the savoury and sweetness of the whole thing. And it's not much work to do at all, just gotta get up early. It is absolutely wonderful.

Oh goodness, I definitely agree that slow cooking slowpoke tails is the best way to have them! Have you ever had them slow cooked with Alolan barbecue sauce? They mix a standard BBQ sauce base with Sitrus berry jam and hot peppers, and oh heavens, it is absolutely delightful! Also from Alola, you can wrap them in banana fronds and roast them over a fire.

Honestly, for any seafood, Alolan cuisine is the way to go!

I've been trying to look into different activities to try and ease my senior medicham out of battling, especially with the.. specific Type of younger trainers that live here in Orre ^^'

I've been doing yoga with them regularly for years, and I've been trying to see if maybe we could attempt some gardening, but is there anything else we could do that can still keep them engaged without the danger of them getting injured? Thank you so much in advance!!

You sound like you are already doing a very good job retiring your medicham. If it still has excess energy, you can invest in a good substitute doll for it to play with without the risk of injury from another pokemon. Older pokemon do tend to slow down, though, so eventually I am sure it would be content with regular walks on top of any low-energy activities you already have established.

How in-tune with aura is Medicham? I imagine it's psychic type might help with that but, I'm not exactly the expert here. Chams is really my only fighting type and his fighting years are probably way past him. Just curious, is all. - @skrub-dubs

Medicham strikes a very good balance between Aura and Psychic powers. Aura is a lot about physical movement, running, jumping, kicking, etc. psychic Abilities are about exerting your brainpower or... something. Medicham uses physical movement to enhance its psychic abilities.

That's how Kyoshi explained it to me, at least.
