Okay so Louisiana...

Buddy got ADHD (almost wrote in french lmaooo) and is the mom friend. He'll know the second you try to lie to him (Flo doesnt even try anymore unless it's for *science*), always got some food on him and bandaid (come on his bestfriend is Florida, he's gotto be ready for anything), and is the most chill person alive.

He's the one you wanna have in a zombie apocalypse; he knows how to survive in his environnment (but is absolutely useless in the north) and can kill anything. He got his voodoo magic, can see ghost (like Kurt in The Umbrella Academy) and if you make him angry, that's the last thing you'll ever do.

Louisiana is kind, because he knows what it's like to not have someone kind to him, and sometime help balance Florida's chaos (i say sometime because most of the time he's the one encouraging him).

He can play any Jazz instrument but loves trumpet (btw why do we call him Louie and not Louis, like Louis Armstrong???), is a phenomenal cook and bartender, and loves to spook tourist who don't respect his state.

So in the course of this drawing I found myself wondering, “surely Alaska has some surfing with all that coastline!” And thus, I learned about Yakutat Bay, the surfing capitol of Alaska. So I think Alaska would at least be somewhat capable of surfing, albeit not as good as Surfer Bro Cali or Miss “I literally invented this” Hawai’i.

But hey, like I said, he’s trying his darn best!

Loui is chill like 90% of the time, right? but he absolutely cannot keep his cool when he's talking to Spain, because he's just so furious that Spain was, um, not the best parent to Florida

Florida is a bit romance repulsed, and Loui is so so careful about making sure that nothing they do makes Florida uncomfortable (like, they cuddle and all that, but no kissing on the lips, but Florida does like it when Loui kisses his forehead or fingers- and there are just so many little things that Loui makes sure Florida likes before he does them)

they call each other "Floridile" and "Louigator" (found this one in my notes, I apparently came up with it like months ago and completely forgot)

when Florida gets a new hyper fixation, he's always so excited to go over and tell Loui all about it, and Loui just sits and watches him with the dopiest smile because he's so happy to see Florida so excited

Loui struggles with self doubt sometimes, and when he does, Florida always goes right to him. he'll try to distract Loui with TV or crime or goofy stories, but if Loui's not feeling it, he'll just sit there. y'know, to show that he'll always be there for him

SO! New York headcanons...

Well, hes an insomniac that's for sure. He got hyperflexibily, and a bad eye from the fire (it's blurry and burns sometimes)

He's covered in scars, like most of the northeast, and his shoulders can get funky when it's humid (you know, like when your grandfather can tell it's gonna rain 'cause his knee is hurting? well that's NY with his shoulders)

Dude addicted to coffee, but don't or rarely drink alcool, and absolutely don't do drugs (to not get back in addiction)

He got some veto power over the other Northeast states, being the most known and populous one, but he rarely uses it (the other are aware of that, and they are grateful of it)

He's autistic, hypersentitive, and hates when people touches him without his consent. He also hate loud sound, and always crack his knuckles when nervous. He's easily spooked, do not like horror movies, but christmas is his favourite season. He's the one decorating November 1st at midnight.

He's bud with Nevada and Georgia, they can spend they whole night palying poker just for the fun of it.

A Calivada Essay in Song Lyrics

Lowkey inspired by @sleepdeprivedsimp234's song lyrics posts I decided to let my instincts win and put together a post full of song lyrics that are Calivada-coded to me. (Since the latest episode got me fully back on my Calivada bullshit. You could say they took a high-speed rail straight into my heart. )

The songs are roughly in order with how I picture the progression of their relationship. It starts with the early days of the Gold and Silver rushes and the Wild West, marked with periods of stormy and reckless whirlwind romance. Then it progresses into the early 20th century, with them growing apart, and yet together: Nevada finding his identity in casinos and sin, and California giving into the hedonism of Hollywood. Somewhere along the line, they became on-and-off again FWB, coming together when they're drunk, or lonely, or hopeless... or all of the above, locked in a frankly toxic and tumultuous co-dependent relationship. Not quite enemies, not quite lovers, definitely not friends... (or so they'll say).

Just... them. Anyway...

A bunch of these have been compiled from suggestions from various people over the past year-ish and some are just my shitty millennial taste in mid-2000s pop rock.

according to my jank estimations and photoshop calculations, assuming the states have average proportions, and counting in for hair and the hat, alaska is roughly 2.3 heads taller than rhode island, or a 53 cm / 1'9" difference

(note: i don't think, in this screenshot, the characters are scaled up or down (noticeably) from ben's regular size)

if we're going to assume that, as the largest and smallest states, rhode island and alaska are on equal and opposite ends of average height (5'9"/175.3cm), this would make alaska 6'6"/201.8 cm and rhode island 4'8"/148.8 cm
