So yes I have OF COURSE read @naffeclipse new fic Apex Polarity and yes, I AM OBSESSED!

So I decided to make a little comic of how I think their "first encounter" might have looked like from Eclipse's perspective.

I can't help but think about how alien and scary we most look to him (especially if there is a history of fasco hunting polar sirens in the past). With all that gear we look like emotionless beings, just observing and uncaring of this ice world. But then when y/n shows up and probably exudes this joy and wonder for his world + shows respect for the creatures and the environment??? Mmh yeah, I can see Eclipse falling for y/n, especially considering how alone he might be...

You know, I used to be one of those person who believed that we should not shame people for their individual habits when it comes to climate changes but focus on the industries and I still believe that it's a more pressing issues in many ways but like…

Ever since I started working at the post office, I just cannot feel the same. I'm genuinely disgusted by the amount of people who will return 10, 15, shit even 20+ parcels on a weekly basis. There's people I see doing this every saturday like clockwork.It's pretty clear that they had no need for any of the bullshit they ordered, they just wanted the little rush of getting some parcel in the mail.

It's also almost always from the same 3 website (Amazon, Shein and Temu) so they're not only actively destroying the environment (and seriously, I think it's hard to realize how much plastic and fuel all those returns take if you haven't seen it first hand -just the amount of tape we use on them on a daily basis is enough to make me sick-), they also contribute to horrible working conditions for so many people so yeah, at this point I do think we need to start applying some shame to all that bs tbh

#i really overfocus on the tape thing because it's just *so much* plastic in one day in one post office and for what? #for some cheap bullshit also made of plastic that are gonne ends up as nothing but landfill fodder #consumerism makes me physically ill at this point #it gives me the same vibe than looking at rotten meat and i'm not even exagerating #and i say that as somebody who enjoys having little trinkets and knick knacks in her house #people are just pushing it so so so far it's absolutely insane to me #disclaimer before someone decide to be sensitive: I'm not talking about people who order something realize it's not working for them.. #..and then return it to get their money back #that's normal behavior and the impact on the environment is very small if you do it a few times in a year #i'm also not judging you if you're broke and order things on really cheap website #tho i do encourage you to check other option (for your own well-being too because some of those will be filled with lead and shit) #but once again..some people are pushing it so far it's driving me insane

Plus the fact that they are free in both ebook & audio via KU. Definitely going to read more.

🥰 Exquisite (copperbadge aka Sam Starbuck) - 172K, White Collar, Peter/El/Neal - complete AU rewrite of s1-2, very well plotted & integrated; light D/s dynamic with P/N. I regret endlessly that there is not more good OT3 stuff like this for this show!

one of the things that actually fucks me up the most often is when someone's outed as an abuser and I'm like yeah. duh. obviously.

bc I do think. then. that it's probably not good how rarely I'm genuinely surprised by it. like on some level I'm always expecting it, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. somebody I had known for well over a decade got outed for some really fucked up stuff a wee while ago and all our mutual friends were rightfully freaking out and I was just like. yeah that happens you can't trust anyone what are you gonna do 🤷‍♀️ and when it's celebrities the only emotion I can summon up even for ones I really liked is Disappointed But Not Surprised.

it makes me Sad tbh bc I wonder what it would be like to not. consider that part of Baseline Normal Procedure. like it has for real been so immutable a part of my life for such a long time that a good proportion of the people you meet, like, build relationships with, etc will have very few qualms about doing awful things to you and others, and at some point you have to stop being surprised. but I think I'm missing out on fully committing to just Liking Someone And Assuming They're Good. it would be nice to be more able to do that.

I hate to say it but I found The Piano Teacher more engaging to watch than Tár

#i mean it isn't about engagement ofc #and tár is absolutely going for a different set of themes and ideas to explore #idk i was just left wont of a lot more and then it ended #again i feel that simply reflects reality #but idk i just found la pianiste was more satisfying despite how horrific some of the subject matter is #again. both films were going for different vibes so idek why on earth im trying to compare them #other than they focus on a music background setting and a person in position of power vs someone less so wishing to gain more power etc #idk. i just wanted a little more from tár. i think i just need to rewatch bc I'm so sad i didn't feel blown away #i must have been a lot more distracted than i thought #like i never checked for the time even once so i KNOW i was engaged but idk i felt so much more could have been resolved or explored #and it never was. whereas it's explored a lot and more elements are resolved in la pianiste #roacc

#Stay Alive by José Gonzalez came on shuffle while I was driving home . i started vibing so hard i took three whole ass turns towards 95 . #like yeah my ass can absolutely drive to bar harbor . Bangor . Portland . I've got some gas money . maybe enough for the shittiest motel . #ive been stuck at home for two days with a stomach bug thats still not fully cleared up. the doctor said its not covid and theyre not sure #its viral either so it very might be stress induced so they're not sure what drugs to give me . had to leave the house today for weed #to keep the nausea and body pain in check among general functions hence being out driving masked up and all #this is also not an uncommon thought process i occasionally remember i can take 70 all the way out to the west Coast more or less #or 50 to the shore . like. i exhibit an incredible amount of self control considering the possibilities here. #the fact my anxiety has kept me so high strung that i haven't just booked it for a few days speaks volumes of just how high strung i am #despite outward appearances #hm. i think i have a therapy topic for my appointment tomorrow.
