It absolutely baffles me that there are people who genuinely disliked “The Prisoner” episode.

Like, we got Din hunting down those motherfuckers one by one in the most badass way possible. He went full on Batman disappearing in the flickering lights. The competence. The skill.

We got a glimpse of what his life was like before we were even introduced to him in the show. We got to meet people who worked with him, who know how skilled he is. You could see their insecurity a mile away with how they were treating him.

We got Bill Bur saying he wants to see Din’s eyes in the softest, most homo manner possible.

We got Din breaking out of a prison cell barely even 5 minutes after he was shoved in there.

We got Din taking out an entire group of security droids by himself.

And people didn’t like it??? Baffling. Truly baffling.

I came to a realization last night while I was lying in bed.

I was just chilling there, relaxing, getting ready for bed, when I got a notification that there was another post on the Teen Wolf subreddit.

I'll be completely honest, I didn't even open the post because the question asked on that post was, "What do you think of Crystal Reed?" And if you've been in this fandom for more than five seconds, you'll know how misogynistic it can be, rivaling it's racism. So I didn't open it because I didn't feel like dealing with any more hatred in this fandom than I already see.

But it hit me after I removed that notification.

These people don't actually care about the show.

I know, that's not anything new with this fandom. There's an entire swath who proudly proclaims they’ve never watched the show itself and base their entire ideology of the show around the fanfiction they read. But it hit me last night that so many of these people - these shippers - look at the show itself as a fanfiction that gained too much popularity, and they're trying to dismantle it.

Literally, the day before, I saw another reddit post about Scott being a bad friend, and then they [the OP] listed things that were either taken out of context from the show, or some that outright contradict it, but fit perfectly within the fanon mythology that has risen in this fandom over the years.

And that is such a weird concept to me.

If I don't like a show, I stop watching it, but here we are, almost six years after the show ended, and they're still out and about with their same talking points, trying to convince/convert others into accepting their fanon.

Not to get political here, but it's like the Evangelicals we currently have here in the States who do the exact opposite of what their holy book and the man who inspired it say to do.

Like, I don't get it.

Okay so I have a question and I can ask it properly now thanks to @helenvader enabling me with her excellent screencapping skills.

So when Galadriel gets on the ship at the end of episode 5, her hair is loose, right?

Look at those gorgeous flowing locks, I am in awe, just like the Numenorean kids

But wait

When we see her at the beginning of episode 6, she's got the Battle Braid, ready for action:
