Mike: Why are you telling me all this?
Vanessa: It’s plot exposition. It has to go somewhere.

"Funny you should say that, Mr. Frog, but those coffee grounds we found at the murder... Well, they were Wilkins Coffee. Now see, the thing that bothers me, is that the victim... Well, he didn't drink Wilkins."

Gunhaver: Now, we’re about to embark on a potentially dangerous mission. There could be physical violence, there could be gunplay, and there’s the slightest chance that somebody might even get killed. So if anybody wants out, now’s the time to say it. Fightgar: I’m out. While I disagree with Seth MacFarlane about a lot, his choice of songs for the albums he records as a singer is really excellent. There’s lots of well-worn standards, but not too well-worn. There’s obscure MGM musical songs like “Music Is Better Than Words” from It’s Always Fair Weather (1955) and “A Kiss Or Two” from Hit The Deck (1955). There’s lesser-recorded songs from iconic boilerplate musicals like The Sound of Music and The Music Man. And there’s songs from newer sources like The Great Muppet Caper (1981) and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1993-6) that in terms of style and quality fit seamlessly with the respected Great American Songbook gems that anchor his albums.

On Doc Watching The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
Hello my chevaliers bien fait!  This was the chosen draw liveblog, and here we are!
Let me take you on a journey, of a tiny young Doc, being introduced to all the Muppet movies. Truly, I loved them! Gonzo was my favorite and the only visible time a movie upset me as a toddler was when Gonzo got his nose stuck in the elevator in the Great Muppet Caper. Definitely a source of my trauma.
But when I was, oh, 6 or 7, I moved onto Henson’s slightly weirder stuff, and while there are multiple tragedies of his death, I think that we never got more of his bizarre, fantasy, darker stuff is one of the greater ones.
Everyone loves Labyrinth. I get that. I even understand why, my feelings about bits of it aside. It’s enjoyable as fuck.
But for me, the obsession was The Dark Crystal. And fucking of course it was, it’s a highly dramatic moral fable about the importance of courage in the face of annihilation and the will to carry on. I must have watched it a hundred times.
As I got older, I obviously grew out of it some, being, you know, grown, but I still loved the feel of it, and the universe, and actually read a number of the extended universe books. I am obsessed with it still, a little bit. So when Age of Resistance came around, I was terrified, but also incredibly excited.
BOY DID I LOVE AGE OF RESISTANCE.
And then it got canceled. So.
As you’ve seen, you really can’t spoil me, though of course give me a little grace for forgetting something now and again.
