Hiya! This is supposed to be kinda chibi-ish, fyi! i cant really figure out what to do with their legs here. they’re supposed to be mixing some kind of batter in the bowl with a whisk! every time i try to sketch in their legs, they end up looking really strange. please help? of course feel free to change what you need to with the pose. also not very good at clothing folds, but im not super worried about that tbh. thank you!

Hi! You’ve got some nice chibi proportions, so I’ll be focusing on the pose like you’ve asked! The reason why the legs might look weird is that the curve of the pose indicates that the legs might be off-kilter. Sketching out the entire pose first can help eliminate this problem!

I don't really understand the backlash against the white Night Fury (Light Fury? I think that's what people are calling her?) Like, what's so bad about her?

Well, the post i just reblogged sums it up pretty well, but I think for the most part there’s two main things people dislike, with a smaller third aspect:

1) It’s tiresome that female versions of established male characters are always feminized: made to look softer, lighter-colored, rounder, and altogether less masculine to their counterparts. Especially given the dragons in HTTYD so far haven’t had any majorly distinct differences based on gender before this.

1a) this is the smaller thing, again explored in the post i reblogged: this makes Less Sense especially when it’s an animal of some sort, even MORESO for a reptile like a dragon, because while sexual dimorphism exists in the animal kingdom, it’s usually either the males who are brighter-colored/smaller, or differences between the sexes isn’t visually there at all. I’m pretty sure for most reptiles, sex can’t be determined unless you actually check genitals or observe mating habits.

2) the introduction of a female nightfury hints at the inclusion of a ‘girl shows up to break up the gang’ storyline/trope. biggest example might be the butterfree episode of pokemon (which, hey, also features a distinctly feminized girl version of the male character, who i think until that point was presented as gender-neutral as most pokemon are): 

this seems more likely given the fact that it’s been claimed toothless is probably the last nightfury, which hadn’t been seen for so long they were assumed non-existent or extinct. which brings in the ‘they have to get together to repopulate the species’ trope, another one we’ve seen…

(oh hey, there it is again! lighter colors, rounder face, softer look for the girl)

So, yeah! Those seem to be the two Biggest Gripes over the presentation of the new female nightfury. The poster implies a lot of things that most people aren’t into, so it’s understanding that people are disappointed over that. I hope that, despite our first impressions, they’ll at least do something creative with the character to make up for the lackluster design.

🖊 Maeron!

Maeron, my girl, the goddess, undisputed queen of the blog. I absolutely love her, and I never get tired of doing things with her whether it’s answering asks, roleplaying, judgement posts, whatever. She is surprisingly fun to play even though we couldn’t possibly be more opposite from each other. She’s an expressive, confident, charismatic party girl, and I’m an awkward, socially anxious shut-in.

I guess you can see she’s kind of what I wish I was. I wish I was more outgoing and extroverted and a people person, so it’s nice to play a character like that. However, it’s also really hard sometimes, especially since she’s a shameless ho and a kinky bitch, and I’m aro ace and sex-repulsed. X_X 

She’s also matured quite a bit since I first made her, and I’m so proud of her. She isn’t nearly as chaotic or irresponsible as she used to be, mostly because not only is she basically grounded now that her traveling lusus is dead, but she has a moirail that gets affected by things she does and people she brings home and who holds her accountable for her actions.

I really want to establish more friendships and relationships with her, including her relationships with some of my other characters. For instance, she thinks of Thiomi fondly and wouldn’t mind being better friends with her. Plus, she and Sonja and basically childhood friends, and she’s one of the few people both his personalities get along with.

Despite how shallow she is, when she takes a liking to someone she is incredibly devoted and caring. She loves all of her friends like family and will do anything and everything for them whether it’s buying them things just because she felt like it, maiming anyone who besmirches their honor, or rescuing them from an awkward or uncomfortable situation. If you need help, she won’t stop until you get it, and she’ll keep tabs on you if she knows or suspects something’s wrong.

I just really like her a lot.

The only way I can recall setting up pages for mobile is to convert each page into it's own post, then have links that lead directly to those posts, since Tumblr mobile can actually link posts, but not pages?
