My third and final scenery painting, a Volcano.
Now I've always loved volcanoes, not just for their functions, but also their symbolism. Volcanoes are capable of so much destruction and devastation, yet also hold the power to give life a fresh start and the resources needed to thrive as volcanic ash has been known to refertilize soil and instill nutrients into the ground for plant life to grow, as well a recycle the earth and her hardened crust to give forth a new shell. The earth we stand on now is ever-changing, in constant motion, and is far from the same earth the dinosaurs once roamed, partially thanks to Volcanoes and their buddies, the tectonic plates. Like how our body completely recycles itself every 10 years, as does the earth itself. Volcanoes can take so much but also give so much. They're frightening, explosive, violent, yet life-giving, revitalizing, and beautiful. The juxtaposition of a volcanoes capabilities is absolutely bewildering to me, and they never stop capturing my imagination.
