Hey Squat! ❤️

In some ways, my current story, The Duchellis, is the longest I've ever stuck to anything in this game. It actually began because I'd constantly start a new save, mess around for a few days, then get bored and start over. I never really got to the point where any of my sims' children grew up or anyone died from old age, and I never really knew what to do. Then I had the idea to see if i could stick to a legacy challenge.

I started the Experiences Challenge by @duchesty and played through all 12 generations, and I had a blast. I made up stories in my head about the family and I actually cared about them a lot. It ended with Ursula, the final heir, solving the Strangerville mystery ❤️

A year or so later, I felt like doing it again, but a bit differently. This is also where I decided to take pictures and post the story for others to see for the first time, because I've always wanted to write but it scared me.

Putting captions on some silly sims felt less daunting.

The first chapter of The Duchelli Legacy (the name is an homage to Duchesty) was published February 23, 2022 and for a long time, I had a story in my head but mostly adapted it to what my sims were doing, nudging them into situations that fit with my headcanon.

The first generation was about Alexandra trying to juggle a criminal career while being in an open marriage with Don and dealing with her Landgraab baby daddy's extremely jealous new wife.

Generation 2 started with Cora and her two best friends going to university... but I barely got into Generation 2 before I started coming up with plot and using poses and changing up my writing style.

Cora went on a very unexpected trip and her entire life changed. And suddenly I was no longer doing a challenge, but writing a very long story with plot. And generational trauma.

Generation 3 followed Cora's son Eric and the consequences of some questionable university experiences. These experiences left their mark, and Eric struggled a lot with some very unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Eric's struggles affected his daughter, Freya, who grew up with her own issues. It took a major disaster for her to finally face her demons and deal with them.

Thankfully she did, and her daughter Julia grew up healthy and happy, the first to do so in several generations.

But that doesn't mean that Julia won't be facing her own challenges, especially after a fateful run-in with famous actor Paul Romeo at GeekCon.

And now we're here. Let's see what happens next, shall we? 👀

*This sudden change is actually the result of my forgotten action. A long-long time ago, before Sunny saved Strangerville and when they weren't in a relationship yet, Mo asked her for career advice and we said he could change jobs if he wants.

I forgot about it because the result of such advice comes back relatively quickly and this one never did... or so I thought. Now I'm stuck with an ex-military man joining a gang 😅 This most definitely glitched but we'll roll with the punches!

LasAbarcas Limited Packs Save 1.0

I'm releasing the first version of my Limited Packs Save! This first version includes all the Base Game worlds as they are in my Base Game Save File as well as Copperdale (which was made using only Base Game, High School Years, and occasionally Parenthood) and StrangerVille (which was made with only Base Game and Strangerville). I love building in both these worlds because they just feel so full of story, especially StrangerVille!

The storylines I set up in Copperdale are of course pretty heavily family/teen based. All the community lots there are made to be great places for high schoolers to hang out and for teenage drama to unfold.

The Strangerville storyline/world leans a bit more into the Stranger Things inspo behind the pack, so I built the world with a bit of an '80s vibe and set up the storyline with the idea that the mystery will be solved by a bunch of kids and teens. Strangerville was super fun to create because its weirdness let me go crazy with interconnecting stories, drama, and secrets. Every community lot in Strangerville has a secret and some of the houses do too (not to mention the families)! There are pieces of plot hidden in the lot descriptions (and if you have Get Together, in the club descriptions too), so make sure you read everything. I'm excited to play out the story myself, and I haven't replayed the Strangerville plot since the pack first came out!

Copperdale

Once renowned for its booming mining industry, Copperdale's prosperity has slowed and the town is now a mixed bag of beauty and decay. However, the diverse citizens of Copperdale all cherish their town and work to help it thrive, putting all their extra focus (and funds) on the excellent school system and, thus, the future of the town the Copperdale High students represent.

Strangerville

StrangerVille attracts oddballs and outcasts who want to create their own sense of normalcy, as well as stubbornly traditional people who insist on covering any weirdness up with conventional norms. Yet all citizens have one thing in common: they don't want their perpetually shoddy, stuck-in-the-'80s town to undergo much change. However, after the mayor signed contracts with a research lab and the military, citizens have noticed some changes around town and worry what might be next.

But, this assignment is a huge chunk of my grade, unfortunately.

Coni: [Rolls eyes] You're way too pretty to have to do stupid assignments over your break. Use what you've got, Coraleye. I love you but I swear sometimes you're just a beautiful idiot. Coraleye: ...Thank you?

Coni: [Sighs] Anyway, what's the assignment?

Coraleye: Well, I'm supposed to write an essay on where I see my life in ten years. I think for my career, I can manage that much, but for the other details, well... there's so many... things... left up in the air for me right now. I'm at kind of a crossroads and I'm afraid of being stuck here. Coni closes her eyes. It's clear she wants to speak, but she only remains quiet. Coraleye: ...Well? Nothing to say to that? I suppose you already have the next ten years of your life planned out? Coni: Of course I do.

Coraleye grins and leans back into the lounge chair, while putting her sunglasses back on. Coraleye: Well that must be nice, to have a love life so uncomplicated. Do you think you'll still be living here in Strangerville, with my brother, in Old Penelope?

Coni: Are you joking? This musty-ass, dingy robot factory of a bunker is no place to raise kids. Especially not our Darling babies!

Coraleye: Well, I need inspiration and we have an hour and fourteen minutes to spare. What is your ten year plan? Coni: I'll tell you exactly what my ten year plan is.

Currently reading: I've been sick this week and haven't been able to do much except watch telly and read. Just about finished Dream Houses by Genevieve Valentine. Sci-fis not my thing usually, maybe it's the fever talking but I liked this a lot. Very generic plot - stuck alone on spaceship with only AI computer for company, its treated more psychologically though and it really works well 👍

Remember my TAG Sims 4 save that I’m building? Well it’s well time for an update on where I’m at! I’m having great fun populating the worlds with characters and various people’s OCs* and thought I’d show off how they’re going! I’m focusing on CAS (Create A Sim) rather than building in this save and trying to create a full world of sims! Also note that I’m planning on the gameplay beginning with a teenage Jeff, so no main characters for now. I play with aging off and age them all manually so the other characters will just stay the same age until I’m ready to interact with them.

I’ve finished three worlds; Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, and Sulani. Working on Newcrest and Henford-on-Bagley next! Today I'll show off the characters made in Willow Creek :)

*I’m only showing the TAG characters and the OCs I have made for them today, not OCs made by other people... mostly because I'm not done!! Also if you're interested in my making your Thuderbirds OCs, let me know! I have a lot of households to fill lol and they'll just hang out in the background of the game :D

Notable changes: I moved the park to the Oakenstead lot, added a second park (in Foundry Cove) and a skate park. I changed the museum into a botanical library and placed a community garden next to it. There is now an early childhood education centre and a hospital that can be visited, and I placed a gym and a museum. I did not make any of the builds, they’re all found on the gallery and then tweaked.

There are twelve households in Willow Creek, including an apartment with four families. The only townies I care about are the Goths so they’ll end up being the only non TAG characters. I found a renovated Goth Mansion and a Goth family revamped to look closer to their Sims 2 counterparts on the gallery and stuck them in there :)

I gave him lots of freckles mostly because I think they look sweet ahaha... I'm tempted to make Gladys a Plant Sim, but for now he's just going to enjoy gardening :D

Come on... I had to XD David's a doctor whose aspiration in life is to solve the Strangerville mystery ahaha

Wayne and Eleanor Rigby

Yes the glasses are on purpose :D I love the idea of Rigby being a single dad and I also aged him up a little simply because he's clearly been with the GDF for a while and it made sense to me.

Kat and Sara Cavanaugh

Sara is Kat's older sister but they don't get on so they live in different worlds.

And finally, our last couple of houses are filled by...

Cass McCready, Aiden Hawkins and Theo McCready-Hawkins

Cass is obviously our favourite firefighter, and so I decided to create Aiden to be her fiance and Theo to be their kid. I always imagined Cass having two boys and to be a single mum when she met iR for the first time, so I did give Aiden a couple of less desirable traits lol... I'd like to play out their story at some point so they only have Theo to start :D

Reece and Dobbs (aka our favourite space pirates/scrappers!)

I love these guys so much, they crack me up :D They're space married, don't question me on this, and they live in a tiny home with some chickens xD I might see if I can replace their current home with one that's modelled after a spaceship bc that would be fun!

Robert and Aidan Williams

Aidan is one of my favourite kid characters in the show and I love him! So cool headed even when crisis is happening and his dad is hurt :( I thought for a long time about whether I'd add in more family but then I realised the house was only two bedrooms and then I invented a story where his mum had recently passed away and him and Gordon could have some bittersweet bonding (bc Gordon stays in touch and remembers everyone obviously!!) so I decided to leave them as they were and also the smaller the household the less likely the game is to crash lol

WillowCreek also is resident to three OC families, but they are not mine so I don't want to post about them without permission :)

Anyway I hope you enjoyed the update on this!!! Someday I'll have real gameplay to share lol, but I'm having so much fun building the world up!

In other news, Ted Roswell did one of those prank calls and gave Lou a bunch of simoleons, then came over to trash our laptop. The only way to get him to leave was to fight him, which Lou did - then felt kind of bad about it, superior wolf strength and all. Also Ted is no spring chicken, and Lou likely lacked the tact and said as much. Oops.

He then spent the rest of the 'visit' trying to make it up to Ted, who stuck firmly to his grudge but is now a WEREWOLF ALLY ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
