Until one day, one of those heroes shows up at his door in the middle of the night. Injured. And asking for his help.

Avoidance as a Love Language - doolray, not rated

Michael is ten seconds away from the biggest payout of his career—until the target walks in, and he is nothing like his picture in the file.

He is, unfortunately, ridiculously attractive.

Deadline at Dusk - futureboy, rated T

The boss is overworking himself, and it's starting to show in his mood. Two particular members of the crew force him out for some twilight-time fun.

A Touch of Sunshine and Steady - rebel_raven, rated T

Gavin had moved to Pelican Town a year ago at the "news" of his grandfather having passed away, given his farm in his will -- even though Gavin knew his grandfather was doing very well in the coast of Sicily from his letters. A year later and the whole town has been revitalized, as has his grandfather's farm, with no shortage of hard work on his end and with the help of the friends he made very quickly.

Everything gets better with time -- the farm, the town, wines, most cheeses, Gavin's relationship with a local stray cat he's named Smee... Though his want to ignore his crush on Jeremy and Alfredo, a pair already dating, has gone unheeded by his heart. A year later and his crush has softened into full out love, not that he will admit it. Though, a few conversations may help clear up a few things.

Hi Jeanist,

I’m sending you this message because I want it to be private. I don’t want my family or anyone else to see this.

But, I guess I should be a little more clear, when I told you, I don’t know what I want.

I was proposed to on New Year’s Eve… it all happened so quickly. Who would have thought; I basically leave a country almost completely disgraced, and the following year I’m getting married off.

He’s a really nice guy, my parents adore him, and he’s practically perfect… but, I told him that I would have to think about it. He’s letting me hold on to the ring until I make my decision. I don’t dare put it on my finger… it’s just sitting there for now.

If I go through with this, I won’t be able to return to UA to finish the exchange program and my training would end. No more traveling, working at exotic places or volunteering. My dream of opening my own bakery overseas would fall to the wayside.

But, if I come back to Japan, I might be missing out on someone who actually loves me… even with all my flaws. You should see the way he looks at me… I’ve never seen someone light up like that. Unfortunately, because of his career, he can’t just uproot everything and move to another country.

So, I don’t know what to do. I either follow my dream or follow my heart.

And to be honest, this whole situation has made me feel even worst about what I did. Part of me feels like I don’t deserve any of this…I get to be happy and live my life—to even have these wonderful choices. But, you and Monoma have to live so cautiously… because of what I did.

The guilt still eats me… and if I return to UA’s campus… it won’t be the same. Everyone knows what did. I will never be able to escape the whispers about the idiotic college student that tried to threaten a villain and bargain lives with baked goods.

I’m glad that you’re still willing to talk to me. But, I’m sure you greatly regret knowing me in the first place.

My advice for you is just to do what feels right. It’s that simple. 

If you love this person, and staying with them feels right to you, do it. If moving to Japan feels right, do it. If you stay with them, there’s also always the possibility of moving later. 

I don’t have any regrets meeting you, nor do I have ill feelings towards you. Please do not beat yourself up.

I don’t know where to even begin, there comes a point when apologies just become meaningless words with no accountability behind them. It doesn’t change anything, your lives are still at risk because of my idiotic attempt to defend you and Monoma. I will never be a hero, I know that. But what scares me is, am I even a good person? Good people don’t try to harass villains online, they don’t throw out threats or make weak bargains with people’s lives. What does that make me then? I said my goodbye to Monoma, and I don’t blame him for not speaking to me. What do you say to the person that singlehandedly put you life in danger within a few short hours. So I don’t expect any type of forgiveness from either of you. I don’t deserve it.

I couldn’t say goodbye to you in person, because the thought of bringing so much disappointment to someone that I care, so much for—its still breaking my heart. Hurting you was like hurting one my parents, you were always there and ready to listen. I’m sort of a loner, and the thought of someone attacking the people I care about, the people I love—I just lost control. I didn’t think of the harm or risk that I was placing you both in. It was stupid. I was stupid.  UA Academy has requested that I leave campus for the remainder of this year. I will be required to continue taking online college level general study courses, my work permit has been removed and I will be moving back to my family in the States. I will also be required to receive counseling and angry management courses. So, you will not be seeing me around anytime soon. Lunch Rush took your report, along with other statements that were seen online and brought them to the authorities. Because I have no past criminal records or history I was given a warning, I am not to contact a villain ever again. To be honest with you, I don’t know if I should ever come back. Being far away from UA, from my fellow classmates and teachers, from Monoma and from you…its for the best. I can’t ruin anyone’s life, if I’m not there to ruin it. I hope that you both stay safe, and that no harm comes to you. I am going to miss you with all my heart. And I don’t regret hugging you, not for a minute— I’m glad that I did. You will always be my hero. 

Not sure it if you will reply to this message or even want to stay in touch with me. I understand if you don’t.  Thank you Tsunagu Hakamata, for always being there. -Soleil ☀️

I’ll only take the book down off the store once I run out of stock! I had to round up for the print order, so I’ll have ~40 extra books that are for sale. If you let me know who you are I can try and set one aside for you just in case!
