Could we get a bit more of a peek into the fic? You're so vague and i'm so curious!

weeell I’m vague because I don’t wanna say too much and I’ve been working on it since forever and a day and it’s changed a lot from the initial plan and probably will again, if I don’t end up shelving it once more. Also because I can’t help doubting there’s much of an audience for weirdass alternate grounder history fics for the 100, especially one(s) with a 99% OCs cast (the 1% left is Becca + Cadogan, although technically they’re both dead) so when I do, I mostly talk about it in messaging.

Anyway, idk what kind of peek you want? I don’t have a summary or anything like that yet. Without revealing too much I can say there will be vicious grounder politicks and an unnecessary amount of worldbuilding, unreliable ladies as unreliable narrators and unpleasant people with uninspired names, some truly egregious abyss-gazing, various event such as a burial, a Conclave, a kidnapping, a shoot-out, and a range of crimes going from petty vandalism to multiple murders and conspiracy.

Lionly wanted for her to hurry up with it. She’d spent all her tears before theend of the first day, and done her best to care for Heda – it was an honour asmuch as a duty to share those final moments with her. Li knew that. She justhadn’t expected how long it would be, how useless she would feel, how Hedawould grow to smell like she was already rotting. She was cold and tired and miserable,and the guilt of it sat like a stone in her gut.

For yearsand years the room at the top of the Tower – called the Main Room for reasonsno-one remembered – had served for all things official, and Li had been withinits walls many times. As a child she’d been part of the crowd, watching ceremoniesand announcements, small groups of people solemnly sent off to explore a worldmade anew. She’d listened avidly to the stories they had to share when theymade it back too: glowing forests hidden in folds of the landscape andfive-legged tiger cubs, ruined cities with their hidden treasures and greatshoals of strange fishes along the coast, underground mazes chock full of rottingbodies and canned food.

Soonenough it was whole families Li had watched being sent off to establishoutposts and settlements – be fruitfuland multiply, the Old Cadogan would say, both a blessing and an order, andBecca would look away and say nothing.

New submitter beccaf writes: Ecologists and climate scientists investigated the consequences of rapid initiation of solar geoengineering (pumping sulfuric aerosols into the atmosphere) in 2020 and then rapid termination of this solar geoengineering fifty years later. It provides only short-term benefits to biodiversity, and, if stopped abruptly, temperatures will soar faster than they would with climate change alone and the consequences to all living things will be even worse than if humans had never interfered in Earth's natural processes at all. The study has been published in the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution. Rebecca Flowers via Motherboard summarizes the effects of solar geoengineering, according to research conducted by Christopher Trisos, an ecologist at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center, and his colleagues: "Initially, organisms stop having to change habitats in response to rising temperatures. Highly mobile species that had already moved, like migratory birds, might return to their original ecosystems, and species that were too slow to move before, like corals, have a higher chance of survival than they did before the geoengineering project began. After mere decades, though, living things in highly biodiverse areas like the Amazon Basin have to start moving again, as much as they would have to in a non-geoengineering scenario." "Suddenly, it's 2070," Flowers continues. "Governments begin to disagree on how to handle climate change, and, besides, they can no longer afford to pump aerosols into the atmosphere. As a result, we stop pumping aerosols into the atmosphere. Then things really go to hell. The amount of warming that would have happened without geoengineering over fifty years is essentially squished into a decade..."

Sardinas con árbol de beccafic

Remoje las pasas en agua tibia durante 30 minutos. Apriétalo y córtalo. Limpie las sardinas quitando la cabeza, las entrañas y los huesos, pero mantenga la cola. Dividir el pan rallado en trozos, mezclarlo no demasiado fino y esparcirlo en una bandeja para que pierda humedad. Picar un generoso penacho de perejil con piñones y mezclar en un bol con el salmonete, la corteza rallada de medio limón, las pasas, el caciocavallo, una pizca de sal, una pimienta molida y un poco de aceite. Lave la naranja y córtela en rodajas en arandelas. A continuación, corte cada arandela en medio anillo. Deje un plato cubierto con una hoja de papel para hornear y un poco de aceite. Repartir sobre cada sardina una bola de mull sazonado, enrollarla y colocarla en la sartén alternando con hojas de laurel y lavadoras de media naranja. Completo con un poco de aceite, una pizca de sal y zumo de medio limón y hornear en el horno ventilado a 190°C por 15-20′ Suministrada y complementada con almendras recién cortadas en rodajas. Sirve ahora.

idk what to do with my the 100 wip now that season revealed Becca’s fate - from what I saw on my dash, because I’ve been avoiding watching the season. should i rework everything so it’s back within canon bounds? should i just ignore season 5 and try and finish the thing? the whole point of the exercise was to come up with a grounder history that made (some) sense while staying strictly in canon-verse, and now it doesn’t work and i am frustrate afazsdgfc!lkh:j!!
