Viktor on every Harbingers.
As stated before, Viktor’s loyalty tend to be more to the people of Snezhnaya and the Harbingers than the Tsaritsa, who he sees more as a faceless tradition despite, yes, believing in the cryo archon’s mission. However, when it comes to his daily life, it is actually the Harbingers who possess his devotion.
Viktor is implied to have, at the very least, witnessed the harbingers which I imagine are during Fatui events, speeches and such, and is knowledgeable of both their way of work, their abilities, the personality they present, quirks and what the other Fatui think of them in general. This is a post based on the information we got so far in canon, the Commedia dell’arte and of course liberal interpretations to flesh out Viktor’s relation towards the harbingers, it is HEAVILY subject to change.
This list goes from who Viktor would like to work for the LEAST to the MOST. Viktor admires all Harbingers and see how incredible they are to the Fatui cause, but this is purely him speaking selfishly in terms of working under them.
SCARAMOUCHE Scaramouche is implied by Viktor to be pretty much universally disliked by the Fatui, which is supported by his shown temper. Scaramouche is one to belittle and not respect underlings, even potentially harming them physically through electro, and lead them with fear. Scaramouche throws emotional, gratuitous tantrums.
This is something Viktor cannot respect when strictly speaking of ways to run the chain of commands. This is no way to be a leader, not when you do not have reasons to apply this kind of authority. Scaramouche’s devastating power, however, is no joke, and given that the Tsaritsa has had her own reason to choose him, there is no question that Viktor would answer the man’s call and orders, but would he enjoy his daily working life under such a self-centered man with no respect for the lives he is responsible for but his own ? Not really. He’d sooner ask for a transfer... which is, unfortunately, not really possible within the Fatui, as you are to believe that where you are stationed is where you should be.
PIERRO Pierro’s crazed antics constantly have one question his state of mind, and his chaotic mockery and obvious bitterness are made for a sour association, where one can never really rest as the man is too unpredictable. Underlings unable to guess what his plans are, given he never tell anyone anything.
Pierro doesn’t care what happens when his subordinates are sent on assignments, not caring if they are casualties or not. As someone who values his life, even if he is loyal and swore an oath to the chain of command, Viktor much rather stay alive. The man is... devastating.
SANDRONE Sandrone uses underhanded tricks and manipulates people to get what he wants, hiding behind a face of kindness to the people. Although Viktor is one to recognize the grey areas of politics, which is, politics is everywhere in any social interactions, Sandrone stands out because he is not influencing people’s judgements, he is a hypocrite who takes advantage of commoners when they meet their lowest points.
This, alongside his eerie puppets... is absolutely terrifying. Viktor cannot help but, unlike Scaramouche where he sees the immaturity and lack of professionalism of one man, feel genuine fear... and fascination. The things he could learn from this man, he cannot even start to comprehend.
PULCINELLA Pulcinella is the harbinger in charge of the Fatui’s military and, alternatively, its recruits camp. Viktor would be more than happy to give his body for the nation if needed, even if the battlefield is not his ideal position.
Technically, all Fatui receives a form of military training. The difference with Pulcinella is mainly that the Skirmishers are constantly enhanced through the Fatui technology, modified as their body belongs to the nation. Viktor personally has no interest in being cut open and changed, as he spent a significant amount of time perfecting his form and knowing his own body. Not everyone has the mental fortitude to be more than happy to be pumped with drugged and have their brain reconstructed to be a better martial weapon.
PANTALONE As the one gathering all funds related to Snezhnaya and the Fatui, working for Pantalone is about contributing to the wealth of the nation, an absolute vital part which, however, comes with a ruthless environment. Whereas politics and influence are more subjective, wealth is about cold, hard numbers in an unsure, competitive scene.
Although Viktor is the first one to tell that there is no bad way to gather money and actually admire the length the man goes for the nation’s mission, what is more of a desk job with very little flexibility (the way political debates and diplomatic exchanges do) is bound to bore him out, thinking like his wits could be used elsewhere.
TARTAGLIA When there is need for intimidation, Tartaglia Childe is the one sent by her Lady Tsaritsa. When there is need for muscles on the field, Tartaglia Childe is also the one sent. Although Viktor’s hunting background would technically make his skills appropriate for the task, Viktor is still not one who actually enjoys applying, let’s say, physical matters, especially unconventional ones Tartaglia Childe is sent into : it is not a straightforward army VS army combat. It is something which require finesse... a dangerous game which doesn’t necessarily fit Viktor.
As for the young lord himself, although he is one of the most respectable harbinger, Tartaglia’s impulsiveness and free spirit is known to suddenly put operations into chaos, without him going through the proper channels. This, honestly sounds both thrilling, rewarding and amazing... which is not Viktors cup of tea. However, Tartaglia has been proven to be the harbinger who respects underlings the most as individuals, despite his casual attitude giving some rookies the false impression that he is a softie... it just makes getting a disciplinary action from him harder.
SIGNORA La Signora is her majesty’s most direct representative in the manners of political and courtly presence. Although working for Signora is a door to open many opportunities to political events for one’s ascension in their career, Signora knows the game... and plays it dirty. Many threats are given under technically diplomatic moves, and as someone who hates losing time on something else than her goals, she has no olive branch to any subordinate, who are pawns for her to be at her service like a mighty mistress... but her ways are always so bloody efficient, the results speak for her manners. Always ahead of the whole court. A queen in any place she walks in.
Technically, Viktor cannot complain about his position, although he is very disgruntled about being that low in the food chain... and extremely neglected. Sigh. Even if he is one to not bother about a pause to his advancements, Viktor cannot get, at least, the satisfaction of doing something for his home... because he’s not doing anything and he’s denying the fact that he’s been forgotten.
DOTTORE Dottore is the most cerebral and knowledgeable of the harbingers, with actual results and hard work to show. As someone in need of mental stimulation, Viktor cannot help but be mesmerized at the constant studying opportunity, under a man who knows exactly what he is doing, what he wants, and makes it clear.
The practical application of skills and sense of professionalism make Dottore both a harbinger Viktor personally admire greatly and would like to work under : with such talent which shouldn’t, for Viktor, be wasted for a single second, he is no scientist, but would gladly do anything to remotely be useful to him. Dottore is actually one of the three harginers where Viktor’s respect, for various reasons, actually cancel part of the fear he would normally get from a man doing such harsh experiments.
CAPITANO The first time Viktor laid his eyes on Capitano, he’d never forget. For whatever reason the man was in his region, probably some undisclosed assignments, he had never seen a man breathing so much charisma by merely existing. Amidst the men who’d try to appear strong and tall, Capitano didn’t have to be the tallest or largest to be absolutely mesmerizing. A man who commanded authority by presence alone.
He needed to be like him. And this is when a young Viktor decided to join the Fatui, not telling a single word that a single man triggered it all. Viktor doesn’t see himself as someone with particular talent, drive or patience to change the world... but if he could be half the man his idol was, that would be enough... but did he want to be the man, or solely be by his side, even if it meant potentially never working under him ? ... both.
As a recruit, Viktor would always run to the pavilion up the Fatui base to see Capitano entering the premises whenever his arrival was announced, watching from afar, get information on what the man had been up to. The stories of the man’s conquests, exploring uncharted territories while keeping such a solemn expression, an inspiring leader who’d run his affairs with the most unforgiving grip, to the perfection, with every bit of professionalism and no break in his composure.
If Viktor was to work under this man, he wouldn’t care a single bit about the treatment on his person. If he can be the slightest bit not indirectly, but directly useful to such a man, he would gladly serve him with every bit of devotion he has. Travelling at his side with the most powerful assets to the Fatui, each challenge only one exciting puzzle after one another.
If Viktor sees the holy Tsaritsa as the Fatui’s queen, Capitano is his King.

The Most Beautiful Boogie Man
Summary: Ardyn knows you. But you don’t know him. Not anymore that is. In a life before, the two of you bathed in the light together, happy and earnestly in love with one another. Now, he can only watch you from the shadows, all the while his fantasies of you--so wretched yet longing--consume and tear at him.
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Reader/Ardyn
[Previous Chapter*]
[Next Chapter**]
HELLO EVERYONE! As much as I like to tease my best friend for her being so enamored with Ardyn, I must admit that he’s a delight to write for~! We were talking about FFXV, and *SPOILERS* she brought up the idea of Izunia looking exactly like Noctis, all the while behaving the way how Ardyn currently does. Paired with the influence of Yasiin Bey’s “The Boogie Man Song”, I was greatly inspired to write and complete this following piece!
It’s certainly different from what I usually write on this blog, but I am pleased with the result and I do sincerely hope you all enjoy it!

**Warning: this one-shot contains spoilers and themes of somnophilia
--------------------
To an immortal, sleep was a luxury, rather than a necessary function.
Whereas the world turned to slumber, those who resisted time were left wide awake, wondering how to best spend another meaningless second.
Boredom didn't even begin to describe Ardyn's immortality. Well, a more off-handed way of explaining his state, his inability to succumb to death.
Time to do anything and everything soon became worthless, a mere constant annoyance that nagged at him incessantly. To be surrounded by kings and the common folk who strived to somehow remain eternal made him laugh.
Loudly.
Maniacally.
Bitterly.
Fools. All of them.
Especially to those who would go so far as to sacrifice loved ones, or hell, even themselves.
A swing and a miss at its finest.
But tonight he finally had something to do.
Especially after centuries of searching for this particular new activity.
All this time, he spent his years, plotting for vengeance, desperate for release. Behind the smarmy yet charismatic facade he perfected was a hollow emptiness that had been festering within him all this time. For whatever was once there--that heart of his, he supposed--was ripped out of his chest and pierced right before his very eyes.
And yet, it was with a casual glance that he found reason to be fulfilled.
The surprise attack on Insomnia proved to be successful. With the Crystal pilfered, there was no reason to really linger around. Though, watching what would have been once his dear Lucians trying to flee and evacuate the city in a crazed terror filled him with satisfaction.
Mildly.
However, what truly caught his eye--and what lingered heavily in his mind throughout the day--was during the signing of the farce of a peace treaty between Lucis and Niflheim. It was for a brief moment, but as he and Emperor Aldercapt were escorted to the meeting room, for the first moment in a long time was Ardyn taken aback.
Around the vicinity of the Citadel, he could see members of the Crownsguard patrolling around the area. Though stoic, he could feel their contempt towards him and the rest of Niflheim's representatives. The glare that was sent his way by Cor the Immortal--god, what a joke--as he passed by made him grin and bow his head in mock-reverence.
But, what made him do a double-take was the person walking alongside Cor, quietly murmuring to him in a hushed tone.
You.
Here you were again.
If there was anything that he--in the entirety of his existence--ever wanted, it was you.
The one who gave the world any value. The one who made life worth living. The one who made death appealing.
How long had it been since the two of you were separated?
The question remained in his mind all throughout the his calm departure from Insomnia's burning ruins. He would've wanted to immediately approach you as soon as he laid eyes on you, stealing you away to make you his again, but that would've made all that he plotted to do in these past centuries all the more meaningless.
It would've made seeking vengeance upon your behalf worthless, and there was nothing that he hungered for quite as much.
At the very least, the stage was set and the actors were about to be shoved into the spotlight for the very first time. The show was to begin, albeit with an unexpected casting decision, a surprise revision to the script.
Though, at this point, he didn't really mind spoilers.
"An impatient traveler" was half a lie, half a truth.
He had been waiting to reveal himself to Noctis and his band of merry fools, but he was eager to speed the process, for he had to seek you out. With all the intel at his disposal--easily by Niflheim's power, even child's play by his power--he wouldn't have any issue with tracking you down, or even twist things along to have you come running into his arms without realizing you would be caged in.
Fate had a way to intervene and allow for the latter to happen before he could plan things fully.
He had been keeping tabs on you while plotting for your inevitable reunion. Cor and other top officials of the Crownsguard had survived, and were intending to have Noctis to go seek out the Royal Arms. Though, not only would Cor give Noctis direction on where to go next, he would have you join him and his friends as well.
The suggestion wasn't denied. You and Noctis were close, even if you apparently kept a low profile throughout your life, your interactions with the prince during high school inspiring you to enlist in the Crownsguard.
Things can work out so simply yet in the most asinine manner.
To Ardyn, you were in no position to be in the Crownsguard.
Royalty shouldn't be serving royalty.
From when he knew you, in the life you spent with him back then, you were his queen. In the time of when Starscourage went rampant and left the world in shambles, nothing brought more hope to all across the lands than the kind, gracious King and Queen of Lucis, whose unconditional love for one another was generously shared with all those who sought it.
With the slow yet undetected corruption of his body, you cradled him in your arms, murmuring nothing but gentle words of your heartfelt affection for him. After a long day's work spent healing the afflicted, even the most benevolent needed rest.
Thus was fitting that he visited you while you slept, exhausted after conquering one of Niflheim's imperial bases in Cleigne. Here, in the quiet stillness of this Lestallum hotel suite was you at your most vulnerable.
Admittedly, it was amusing to see his pacifist queen draw a weapon in order to fight for her kingdom. The way you handled yourself in battle was with a grace that was dazzling, and a fierceness that was fatal.
Even with the few encounters with you previously--all with Noctis and his friends in close attendance--he considered this moment to be your true reunion. After all, rather than him carrying on the facade of Chancellor and you of whatever this false identity that you had been tricked into possessing, he could speak to you--the Queen of Lucis--as your King Ardyn Lucis Caelum.
You wouldn't give him the time of day, so what better chance to approach you than at night, especially with the other four out in Lestallum to restock while relaxing after such a grueling excursion from the afternoon. The room was completely dark, save for the small lampstand on your bedside.
How one could sleep with the light on was beyond him, but given the context of the world as it was now, there was no question:
It was meant to keep monsters like him at bay.
Laughable.
"I wonder..." He broke the silence in the room, his voice hoarse from not speaking for a few long moments while he beheld you in your current state. "...what must you be dreaming of to give you such a peaceful expression, my love."
His lips quirked into a grin as he approached the bed, reaching for his coat and scarf to remove them. He intended on staying for a while, so he may as well get comfortable.
Lestallum was always brutally hot and humid, and even with the air conditioning in your hotel suite, you were still dressed down as minimally as possible. Rather than the most luxurious of silk to drape over your skin, instead you were in a pair of small sleeping shorts and a tank top that seemed to have gathered in the middle, your chest and stomach bared during your sleep.
To lick his lips or gulp at the sight?
It wasn't like him to feel conflicted.
Did he want to stare at you with reverence, or ogle you as he pleased?
The answer hung in the air as another option--to simply lay beside you--was added and selected. By now, he wasn't undressing to get comfortable, but rather to be able to take in as much of you as he could. His hands would do all the work, of course, but he wouldn't allow anything--especially clothes--to get in the way of his bare skin to feel your body heat radiate off of you.
Pitiful or depraved?
There was no one else who could draw out these questions, these emotions out of him.
He laid beside you, as exposed as he could be. All throughout your rest, he saw you as vulnerable, but now, beside you, the word seemed to describe him perfectly, even if he was succumbing to voyeurism.
Gingerly, he reached forward, grabbing the hem of your top before slowly tugging it down. While your stomach was covered, his knuckles brushed over the warmth of its surface. He let out a groan at the delicate heat before doing to same for the neckline of your top. Tugging it upward, he relished in the back of his fingers running against your chest.
You shivered.
"Was that me, or the air conditioning, my sweet?" He murmured after leaning forward to meet your ear. Teasing as his tone was, there was an unquestionable bittersweet tinge to it. "You know I know how to elicit all of those delightful little reactions from you--like no one ever could."
He wished you could answer back.
He wished you would talk to him.
He wished you returned to him.
Even when stricken with immortality, Ardyn was left exposed.
To rumor, to distrust, to hatred.
While seeking to rid the world of Starscourge, there was a king who wished to seize the throne, to take everything that the ever so benevolent king had to offer the world. Jealousy at its most rampant, there couldn't have been a better opportunity than to turn the very people who adored their ruler against him.
Izunia was the name.
But when all lost faith in him, who else but you, his beloved queen, to stay so stubbornly loyal to him.
He was only doing what was right for the world. Truly, he meant no harm. An outright twisted, unfortunate consequence for simply wishing happiness and peace to all.
That man was your husband and you would do anything for his sake.
But there were rumors, fears that if the queen was to remain by his side--and become inflicted with Starscourge--there was a possibility that some kind of new daemons would be born, albeit under the disguise of a human, one that could blend seamlessly into the world.
Separation.
Rip apart.
The mob was forming and there was only so much you could do when the world and its gods shunned you and the man you loved.
Ignorance never was so infuriating.
The immortality brought on by the Starscourge wasn't fully realized that day when Ardyn awoke to see you gone. For months, the two of you had been wandering across Lucis, wondering what to do, where to go. There was no immediate answer to those questions, but he never felt alone so as long as you were there.
But you could see his agony, his despair.
You just wanted to see your lover happy once more.
There was a note left beside him.
I will go to Tennebrae to seek an audience with the gods. When they see all that you've done for the world, my Ardyn, they will realize the error of the Crystal's judgment. I will make them see.
The very ones who were so cruel to allow a reunion like this to occur.
What had become of him, right now? What reduced him to the pathetic fool who could not rouse you from your sleep, instead to simply touch himself while lying beside you?
Did he want to indulge in fantasy where he could subject you to the depravity that he had sunken to, or think back that moment when he swore to himself that he would seek vengeance upon the world?
You never did make it to Tennebrae. The mob of ignorant, fearful Lucians were there instead, ready to cast out any blight of the Starscourge. Apparently, the King Izunia was quite the influential speaker.
And apparently, the Starscourge gave him more than just an accursed body, one that immediately turned hollow and void the moment he saw your still form slumped on the harbor floor.
But now here he was, next to you at your most tranquil state.
The sound of your steady breathing drew out euphoria, the rise and fall of your chest a pleasure that he thought was forever lost.
And yet, the you that was now beside him was different. You were the version that swore passionately to remain at the side of the True King, of that brat who was undeniably a carbon copy of Izunia.
Ardyn could hear the gods laughing away at his expense, their cackling rousing a silent but menacing fury that bubbled within him, which in turn was meant to mask the anguish he truly felt.
It was why, at least for tonight, he could indulge himself in your presence. There was no other place he'd rather be at this moment.
Ardyn was more than capable of making you his once again at this moment. The power to do so wasn't merely at his fingertips, but like that of muscle memory. He had grown fond in being the cause for corruption--especially pure, innocent things.
You shifted in your sleep, seemingly restless for a moment before you ended up facing him, even leaning slightly forward. The movement of your body caused your top to shift downwards yet again, breasts slightly spilling out. A moan escaped you as you continued to rest, falling back in near silent slumber at your newfound comfort.
With one hand still stroking his cock, Ardyn brought his face closer to yours. How he wished to fully close the gap between the two of you with a kiss.
"Since when were you so keen on teasing me, darling?" He purred huskily while eyeing your lips. What heightened arousal was either between the extremes of fucking your mouth, or hearing you breathlessly call out his name and how much you loved him. "Do you think I'm not onto your little plot? How naughty of you. You must know what you're doing to me now, yes? Don't think I'll be as nice to you as I was before~"
But could he bring himself to punish you?
On one hand, yes, for all the times he heard you utter his name with complete contempt, as though "Ardyn" was poison to your tongue. And yet, wouldn't he also be just rejoiced to have you pay attention to him with your love and affection?
His breathing grew labored while the wet strokes of his cock became more frantic, needy.
"Open your eyes, my love. Look at me."
Your eyes remained shut.
"Kiss me. Don't you miss your king?"
Your lips remained closed.
"Love me. Yield your heart and body to me."
Your body remained still.
A bitter smirk broke onto his features, sweat on his brow, his breath labored, "You wicked little thing..."
The opportunity to corrupt you left excited him just as much as repulsed.
Even if tainting things was all he was good for anyhow.
Ardyn pumped his cock furiously, your silence making him crave every fantasy as relief. He craved to touch you all over, but could only get himself to cup and stroke your cheek, the soft surface of your skin arousing him to no end. Oh how wonderful of a scene it would be to have Noctis and his Crownsguard return to the room, only to walk into you getting pounded right into the mattress by their most detested foe, all while you beg and cry for him to fuck you harder. Or, tear away your facade and your clothes, reawakening you with your true identity, just so he may whisk you off to Insomnia and have you ride his cock while he's seated at the throne—much like the days before, for even a kind-hearted and generous king loved to dabble in some thrilling naughtiness.
What thrilled--and relieved--him was just how possible either of those situations were and more.
And that's what helped him messily spill his release onto his hand and your bare thighs rather than tears down his face.
Come now, he wasn't that pathetic to weep.
Especially when he had no tears to offer whatsoever.
For the time being, he would savor this opportunity. He ended up breaking self-imposed rule of only touching you with his hands, given that he graciously cleaned the mess he made on your thighs with his tongue, eager to have a taste of your flesh.
You remained asleep all throughout, that peaceful demeanor still exuding from you.
Ardyn was reluctant to leave your side to dress himself up once more, but he'd rather save the dramatics of confronting you with Lucis's prince in attendance for another time.
For now, he would take his leave, biding for when the time was right. While his vengeance was set in stone--to pit Izunia against Izunia, he had developed a knack for theatrics--he could spare a few meaningless days to wait for your return to his arms.
Ardyn smiled bitterly.
It would be a dream come true.
The kind you wished to never wake from.
Here, he would depart from you, refraining from disturbing your peace, allowing you to bask in the small light by your nightstand.
Back to the shadows he went, to where he belonged, allowing you to slumber in presence of a never ceasing light.

Tokyo Ghoul Characters & the Enneagram
While I really don't think personality tests are really able to capture who a person (or a character!) is, I think they're fun and can sometimes offer insight. The Enneagram classifies people based on their motivations and their fears into nine basic "types," and each type also comes with a "wing" to an adjacent type (in other words, someone who is Type 1 can have a 2 wing or a 9 wing, etc.) Each type also has "arrows" meant to depict that as they grow, they grow in the direction of another type, and as they grow more stressed, they disintegrate towards yet another type. There are also “levels” of health within each type.
(Italicized text is taken from the Enneagram Institute.)
Type 1: The Reformer Basic Fear: Of being corrupt/evil, defective Basic Desire: To be good, to have integrity, to be balanced Key Motivations: Want to be right, to strive higher and improve everything, to be consistent with their ideals, to justify themselves, to be beyond criticism so as not to be condemned by anyone. The two characters that best fit a Type One profile are Amon Koutarou and Ui Koori. Both are primarily motivated by their sense of right and wrong, and Amon in particular is always seeking to justify himself. This desire to justify himself makes him more of a 1w9 "The Idealist" to me, whereas Ui is more of a 1w2 "The Advocate"--Ui really believes the CCG is helping people by exterminating ghouls. Or, well, Ui did anyways. But his desire to help people and connect with them is something Furuta notices and exploits to manipulate him (i.e. through resurrecting Hairu).
Tumblr media
It's also noted that in the effort to stay true to their principles, Ones resist being affected by their instinctual drives, consciously not giving in to them or expressing them too freely. That seems like Amon to me.
Tumblr media
As for their arrows, the Enneagram Institute states that when moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), methodical Ones suddenly become moody and irrational at Four. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), angry, critical Ones become more spontaneous and joyful, like healthy Sevens.
Through Furuta's manipulation, Ui seems to be moving towards irrationality, breaking with his own principles in the desperate (and which will probably prove illusory) hope to get Hairu back. Amon accepting Akira’s kiss in :Re 121 could be seen as Amon growing more towards a spontaneous, healthy Seven.
Type 2: The Helper
Basic Fear: Of being unwanted, unworthy of being loved
Basic Desire: To feel loved
Key Motivations: Want to be loved, to express their feelings for others, to be needed and appreciated, to get others to respond to them, to vindicate their claims about themselves.
There are four characters who seem like Type Twos to me: Kaneki Ken, Nagachika Hideyoshi, Karren von Rosewald, and (probably) Kimi Nishino. All of these characters seem to be motivated by a desire to love and be loved. Kaneki's tragic flaw is that he's desperate to protect the people he loves, and accepts the role of One-Eyed King simply because the people he cares about mostly happen to be ghouls, as he tells Amon.
Tumblr media
Kaneki is a very unhealthy Two, though hopefully he's (slllowwwwllllyyy) moving towards becoming more healthy. Hide, on the other hand, is a far healthier Two. Like Kaneki, he would still do anything, such as joining the CCG, to protect Kaneki, but unlike Kaneki, his insecurities didn’t drive him into paranoia.
Both Kaneki and Hide are 2w1s, aka "The Servant." I think Kimi is also a 2w1, as she is motivated by her love for Nishiki, which came just as she lost her family. She seems to have a strong One wing, acknowledging that if she were born a ghoul, she would probably have eaten people and therefore cannot judge him.
In contrast, Karren appears to be a 2w3: "The Host/Hostess." Karren is an unhealthy Two, and her basic motivations come from her tragically unrequited love for Shuu. The Three wing comes into play in that part of the reason she lives as Kanae is out of a desire to carry on her family legacy, which seems like more of a Three-oriented goal than something based on morality, like a One-oriented motivation would be.
Tumblr media
As for their arrows, it's noted that when moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), needy Twos suddenly become aggressive and dominating at Eight. This description of a Two moving in the direction of Eight sounds very much like Shironeki (albeit Shironeki is like the most extreme version possible), as Kaneki’s then utterly desperate to control everything to protect the people he loves. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), prideful, self-deceptive Twos become more self-nurturing and emotionally aware, like healthy Fours. For all their flaws and unhealthy bits, Kimi and Hide are far more emotionally aware than Kaneki is. Karren is not, at least initially, but when Karren asks Shuu to call her by her real name and reclaims her real identity, she moves towards emotional awareness like a healthy Four.
Type 3: The Achiever
Basic Fear: Of being worthless
Basic Desire: To feel valuable and worthwhile
Key Motivations: Want to be affirmed, to distinguish themselves from others, to have attention, to be admired, and to impress others.
Takizawa Seidou and Urie Kuki both strikes me as Threes, although I think Seidou is more of a 3w2 "The Charmer," whereas Urie is a 3w4 "The Professional." Both of them during their CCG days are motivated by their achievements--Seidou is bitter at Akira for besting him in their class, and Urie is consumed with the relentless drive to be promoted.
Tumblr media
It's noted that Type Threes typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness. Both Urie and Seidou certainly are competitive, but Seidou seems to be more focused on what people think about him, as he desperately wants to be a hero (hence the Two wing), whereas Urie is more motivated by his own self-set goals of promotion, and damn anyone who gets in his way.
Tumblr media
And now for arrows: when moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), driven Threes suddenly become disengaged and apathetic at Nine. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), vain, deceitful Threes become more cooperative and committed to others, like healthy Sixes.
The above panel of Urie is him becoming apathetic towards his comrades’ lives (and even hateful), and Seidou's descent into villainy also seems to be, in part, brought about by a feeling that it's hopeless to even keep trying. We do see Urie, after the Auction arc and his encounter with Mutsuki, starting to become more committed to Shirazu, Mutsuki, and Saiko, much like a healthy Six.
Type 4: The Individualist
Basic Fear: That they have no personal identity or significance
Basic Desire: To find themselves and their significance (to create an identity)
Key Motivations: Want to express themselves and their individuality, to create and surround themselves with beauty, to maintain certain moods and feelings, to withdraw to protect their self-image, to take care of emotional needs before attending to anything else, to attract a "rescuer."
I think Uta is a 4w3 "The Aristocrat," and Kureo Mado is a 4w5 "The Bohemian." Uta is known as "No Face" and seems to enjoy taking on the identity of others in order to mess with their loved ones (Uta, I love you, but you’re also awful). It's noted that Fours see themselves as different from others, [but] they do not want to be alone. Additionally, they often report that they feel they are missing something in themselves.
Tumblr media
Fours are also noted to have a familiarity with their own darker nature makes it easier for them to process painful experiences that might overwhelm other types. Both Uta and Mado are completely aware of their darker nature, but neither of them care. Uta also seems to be motivated by his desire to feel worthwhile, hence why I think he has a Three wing, whereas Mado leans more towards a Five wing in his crazed determination to exterminate ghouls and take their kagunes for his quinques. He's motivated by his own desires, and his desire to be useful in exterminating ghouls (a key Five motivation is wanting to be useful), but this desire has no roots in principles of justice like Amon, or promotion like Urie--he kills ghouls because he wants to do so.
As for their arrows, when moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), aloof Fours suddenly become over-involved and clinging at Two. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), envious, emotionally turbulent Fours become more objective and principled, like healthy Ones.
Neither Uta nor Mado can claim to be objective in any sense of the term, though Mado would like to believe he is. Uta constantly tries to manipulate other people’s lives (as with Kaneki and currently Mutsuki). While we never see Mado at his best within the manga, it’s easy to imagine that he would be like Amon, principled and focused on doing the right thing. (It may also be worth noting that Mado possesses an inability to let anything go, and may have used his wife’s death as an excuse.)
Type 5: The Investigator
Basic Fear: Of being useless, helpless, or incapable
Basic Desire: To be capable and competent
Key Motivations: Want to possess knowledge, to understand the environment, to have everything figured out as a way of defending the self from threats from the environment.
I think Eto is a 5w4, aka "The Iconoclast," whereas Arima Kishou and Mado Akira are both 5w6s, "The Problem Solver." The Enneagram Institute mentions that when [5s] get verification of their observations and hypotheses, or see that others understand their work, it is a confirmation of their competency, and this fulfills their Basic Desire. All of them focus on using the knowledge they have to help themselves become capable and competent. Akira focuses on gaining knowledge since the world (and particularly ghouls) have taken both of her parents and (for awhile it seems like anyways) Seidou and Amon. Arima, too, focuses on gaining knowledge, but is also more drawn to people, as seen in his parental-like relationship with Kaneki. Eto differs from Akira and Arima in that she has more of the internal focus on her identity than they do, and she uses her knowledge about people to manipulate them.
Tumblr media
For Fives’ arrows, when moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), detached Fives suddenly become hyperactive and scattered at Seven. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), avaricious, detached Fives become more self-confident and decisive, like healthy Eights.
Akira seems to be moving in a healthy direction, as she appears very self-confident and decisive after her chat with Hinami. Eto certainly exhibits the scattered enthusiasm of Sevens at times.
Type 6: "The Loyalist"
Basic Fear: Of being without support or guidance
Basic Desire: To have security and support
Key Motivations: Want to have security, to feel supported by others, to have certitude and reassurance, to test the attitudes of others toward them, to fight against anxiety and insecurity.
Both Mutsuki Tooru and Yasuhisa Kurona appear to be 6w7s, "The Buddy." While it might seem strange to think of Suzuya Juuzou as wanting security, I think he is also a Six, but a 6w5, "The Defender." Big Madam used praise to motivated Juuzou, but Shinohara as a father figure is the one who showed him what it really meant to be loved and supported by someone, and as Juuzou's encounter with Uta wearing Shinohara's mask showed, Juuzou still craves this.
Tumblr media
To an extent, Juuzou's squad and his friends now provide him with security. He's also motivated by the idea of being useful, as shown in his skill as an investigator--hence the Five wing.
As for Kurona and Mutsuki, they both want to be safe and secure, which is why Kurona and Nashiro trusted Kanou, and unfortunately for Kurona, is part of why she struggles to accept Nashiro's death. As for Mutsuki, he really wants to feel safe and secure, and part of that meant having the Quinx and Sasaki around. Since Shirazu's death, his own captivity by Torso, and Sasaki's abandonment, he's been spiraling.
Tumblr media
When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), dutiful Sixes suddenly become competitive and arrogant at Three. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), fearful, pessimistic Sixes become more relaxed and optimistic, like healthy Nines. Since Shinohara's influence, Juuzou is shown to be more relaxed and optimistic..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mutsuki even moved in this direction post-Auction arc and before Shirazu's death. Now, ever since Torso’s captivity, Mutsuki is feeling competitive with Touka (early panels indicate that he was jealous of Touka from the beginning, but it's now become extreme). Coupled with his dissociation issues, Mutsuki is heading down a very unhealthy path.
Type 7: The Enthusiast
Basic Fear: Of being deprived and in pain
Basic Desire: To be satisfied and content--to have their needs fulfilled
Key Motivations: Want to maintain their freedom and happiness, to avoid missing out on worthwhile experiences, to keep themselves excited and occupied, to avoid and discharge pain.
Tsukiyama Shuu is a very obvious Seven. His obsessive fear of missing out, his desire to savor unique flavors, all make him a Seven, probably with a Six wing ("The Entertainer.") Because as much as Tsukiyama loves life's experiences and flavors, he also really craves human connection and the security that comes with that.
Tumblr media
Ihei Hairu might also be a 7w6, and Nishiko Nishiki is a 7w8, "The Realist." It's noted that as long as Sevens can keep their minds occupied, especially with projects and positive ideas for the future, they can, to some extent, keep anxiety and negative feelings out of conscious awareness. Tsukiyama clearly does this, trying to focus on the goal of eating Kaneki (at least initially, as later this becomes a clear smokescreen for getting to know Kaneki), and Hairu does this at the moment of her death, when she thinks warmly of Arima (technically this is moment in her past).
Tumblr media
It's also observed that on a very deep level, Sevens do not feel that they can find what they really want in life. Nishiki is a clear example of this: he, like Tsukiyama, wants connection with other people, but does not feel he can have this (at least at first). But compared with Tsukiyama, Nishiki is more inclined to try to control the world around him; at the same time, he doesn’t want to miss out on life’s experiences.
Tumblr media
It's also noted that as Sevens speed up their pursuit of whatever seems to offer freedom and satisfaction, they tend to make worse choices, and they are less able to be satisfied... the result is that Sevens end up anxious, frustrated, and enraged... They may end up ruining their health, their relationships, and their finances in their search for happiness. This is basically what happens to Tsukiyama after he believes Kaneki died.
When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), scattered Sevens suddenly become perfectionistic and critical at One. Hairu’s vicious and tragically ironic hatred of ghouls could be seen as an example of this critical behavior, though in truth I don’t think we know enough about her to say for sure. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), gluttonous, scattered Sevens become more focused and fascinated by life, like healthy Fives. Since Karren's death, Tsukiyama has become far healthier, focusing on serving his king. Nishiki, too, after they defeat Tsukiyama, save Kimi, and he starts working at Anteiku, moves in a more positive direction, taking joy in life.
Type 8: The Challenger
Basic Fear: Of being harmed or controlled by others.
Basic Desire: To protect themselves (to be in control of their own life and destiny.)
Key Motivations: Want to be self-reliant, to prove their strength and resist weakness, to be important in their world, to dominate the environment, and to stay in control of their situation.
Kirishima Ayato and Furuta Nimura are clearly Eights, specifically 8w7s "The Maverick." Kirishima Touka and Yomo Renji are also Eights, but I think they’re 8w9s, "The Bear." Ayato curses weakness, specifically cursing his father and Touka for his perception of their weakness. Furuta is obsessed with controlling not just his story, but Rize's, Kaneki's, and more. Touka and Yomo are also motivated by control, but are also motivated by their desires to not lose the people they love (for Touka, Kaneki, and for Yomo, Hikari). I also think Shirazu Ginshi is an 8w9 as well--like most Eights, he is a good leader, although he seems to be in a healthy place. He does, however, make the effort to keep the team together, even if it means dragging a still-sleeping Saiko to a meeting on his back.
Tumblr media
Yomo was far unhealthier in his youth, when he's described by Uta as having been incredibly violent. Touka, too, was far unhealthier at the beginning of the manga, and now seems to be in a healthy place. She's not seeking to control Kaneki, but she is seeking to be close to him.
Tumblr media
When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), self-confident Eights suddenly become secretive and fearful at Five. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), lustful, controlling Eights become more open-hearted and caring, like healthy Twos.
Shirazu seems to be a very healthy Eight, and his care for his friends is always evident. An Eight's movement towards a Two is also evident in Touka's attitude towards Kaneki in :re, where she hopes he will return, but if he doesn't, she's content (and when she became consumed with revenge for Ryouko’s death, she was moving in an unhealthy direction). When Ayato begins to care for Hinami and break away from Aogiri, he grows. Yomo, too, experiences this when he works with Yoshimura and watches over his niece.
Type 9: The Peacemaker
Basic Fear: Of loss and separation
Basic Desire: To have inner stability, "peace of mind"
Key Motivations: Want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, to resist whatever would upset or disturb them.
Yonebayashi Saiko and Yoshimura Kuzen are 9w8s (Saiko with a strong Eight wing), "The Referee." I think Fueguchi Hinami is a 9w1, known as "The Dreamer." Saiko is very much motivated by her desire to do what she wants to do (as evidenced by her laziness at the beginning of :re), but she also cares deeply about those close to her, as shown when she sobs when a clone of Kaneki's is executed, and when she refuses to let Urie die a ghoul despite Hsiao's warnings.
Tumblr media
Hinami, too, just wants the fighting to stop. She never cares about revenge, but she does care about losing the people she loves. When she chooses to protect Kaneki in the auction, she knows that he may not ever remember her, and he may not be the same person Kaneki was. But for her own peace of mind, she has to protect him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's noted that more than any other type, Nines demonstrate the tendency to run away from the paradoxes and tensions of life by attempting to transcend them or by seeking to find simple and painless solutions to their problems. Yoshimura, as admirable as he is, falls prey to this method of thinking a bit, both in his abandonment of Eto (he always loved his daughter, but in his thinking that he wasn't able to raise her, he created a tragic situation for both of them) and in his refusal to take an active role in working for a more peaceful world between ghouls and humans (he ran a wonderful place in Anteiku and helped many, but his passivity was not in everyone’s long-term best interest).
And for their arrows, when moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), complacent Nines suddenly become anxious and worried at Six. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), slothful, self-neglecting Nines become more self-developing and energetic, like healthy Threes.
Saiko has moved in a more healthy direction since the beginning of :re in some respects, but she’s also stagnating as a character in other areas because she wants everyone around her to be safe, but aside from saving Urie, hasn’t made an effort to push ahead with asking uncomfortable questions (i.e. when she confronts Mutsuki over smelling human blood, and when she cries over fake-Kaneki’s execution but thus far hasn’t been shown examining her own potential culpability in working for an organization like the CCG--though this is possibly due to the fact that she never chose to work for the CCG; her mom did it for her). Hinami was in a less healthy place at the start of :re, but after she made her decision to protect Kaneki at the auction, she's become far healthier.
So, that's it! This isn’t meant to be taken terribly seriously; it’s just a fun and (for me) interesting way of thinking about the characters and their personalities/motivations. What I find funny/interesting is how our three remaining original Quinx overlap in terms of their arrows.

What Does Your Head Line Reveal About You? You Will Be Surprised!
An ancient art with many systems of interpretation, Palmistry is a subject that has enthralled mankind for ages. It has been rightly said that “often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain”.
There are a total of 12 lines spread across our palm, but the heart line, life line, and head line are key. It’s your writing hand that describes you and the less active hand that carries details about your past. It’s worthwhile to mention that not all lines on our hands are fixed, some of the small ones, those that cut across the fingers, change every month! The major hand lines reveal physical energy whereas the head line represents emotional energy.
Each of these lines characterizes a different aspect of the person. Their meanings can be ascertained by examining the size, depth, prominence, and curvature of the lines, as well ascertain symbols found along the lines.
The head line, often known as the wisdom line, holds great significance in Chinese palmistry. Wedged between the heart line and the life line, the head line reveals mental and psychological makeup, intellectual development, and intuitive abilities of a person. The head line is not a quotient of your intelligence, but it’s indicative of how you use your mind. The more uniform and straight the head line appears, the more practical and logical you tend to be. A curvy head line is found in the hands of imaginative and intuitive people.
The head line may originate from six general areas; each area denotes a different mental approach to dealing with life.
Length
The first thing to look for is the length of the head line; if it is long and runs across the hand, it reveals a strong mentality. Whereas a short head line denotes a relatively weaker mentality. A longer head line is further symbolic of having a good memory.
At Its End, A Short Line Branches Off
If the head line branches out into a ‘y’ at the end, it signifies that the person is pensive, competent, and empathetic. While such people are not introverts, they do enjoy their solitude to dwell on their thoughts and tap into their creative energy. However, while such people are innovators, they can sometimes suffer from delusions. Thus, strive towards striking a balance between fantasy and reality. You do not live for the limelight, you are an enabler, always watching out for your peers and colleagues. Sometimes, your empathy can be crippling, nevertheless, you have a largely consistent personality and do not lose yourself in the crowd. Conversations with you are mostly engaging, profound, and romantic.
In The Middle, A Lengthy Line Branches Off
The head line that branches off in the middle, making a ‘V’, indicates adaptability. You have a malleable attitude that can be shaped according to the given situation. You do not suffer from a rigid mindset, which makes you rather amicable. You’re true to yourself, and that peace within helps you retain harmony in all kinds of social environments.
Runs Upwards To The Mount Of Mercury
If your head line swirls towards the mount of mercury, you’re ambitious. You are dedicated, disciplined, and self-propelled. Your sharp mind helps you perceive things more clearly than others. You observe the details others tend to miss, which lends a deep enterprising shade to your personality. You’re not vulnerable or easily convinced.
Runs Upwards To The Mount Of Mars
If your head line rushes to meet the mount of Mars, you’re playing with fire. You’re often too possessive, thus never quite at ease with yourself and your loved ones. You have a compulsive need to know what transpires in everyone’s life. You prefer to be the center of attention and do not react very well on being excluded from any conversation or activity. You are often tempted to surround yourself with visible signs of security, such as a material possessions, money, etc.
Joined To Life Line/Separated From Life Line
If the head line overlaps the life line for some distance, it shows an introvert, prudent, and thoughtful character. The longer the overlap, the more indecisive and dependent you are. However, if your head line stands alone, separated from the life line, it signifies a bold and extrovert character. People with straight, clear, disjointed lines enjoy a healthy amount of confidence, self-respect, determination, and success. Thus, the head line reveals the pattern of energies that are less subtle than the heart line energies. These are often grounded in the facts of life and are related to the thought process used in daily life. The mind is a force that enables us to alter our natural life course. An understanding of your natural tendencies, qualities, and disadvantages would not only help you take control of your life but would bring about a sense of harmony from within.

The 5 Yamas Of Yoga- What Are They And What Do They Mean?
The more you dig into yoga, the more you find. Did you know the concept of Yama in yoga philosophy has 5 elements? Well, it does, and they explain the concept of Yama beautifully and profoundly.
Yama is part of the ‘Eight Limbs Of Yoga’ mentioned in Yoga Sutras by Patanjali- considered the father of yoga. It is the beginning of a structured path that leads you to bliss and enlightenment.
They say ‘well begun is half done,’ so why not learn the first concept ‘yama’ of the yoga sutras well and pave the way for an enriching yogic path. Stay put and read on to do so.
What Is The Significance Of Yama In Yoga?
Yama is your best guide to lead an honest and conscious life. It encourages to portray your true self and saves you the energy wasted on putting up a farce.
It is a path that is healthy and peaceful. It also strengthens, increasing your awareness and will to achieve better. All these sound relatively easy but are difficult to practice and keep up.
Yama elucidates on the moral standards of living. It tells us how to conduct our lives. It directs us to behave in a way that we would like to be treated, by others.
Yama asks us to follow the path of non-violence, truth, and self-control. It is a rule, goal, and self-restraint that give a proper control over your behavior and being.
We all know that Yama is part of the Ashtanga- Eight Fold Path mentioned in Yoga Sutras by Patanjali. But much before that, it was spoken about in the Rig Veda and many other ancient texts of the Vedic age.
Yama means ‘restraint.’ It asks you to check your actions, words, and thoughts from time to time. It evolved from one ancient text to another- the Upanishads to the Mahabharata- as an ethical duty to self-questioning.
Let’s learn about the 5 elements of Yama now.
The 5 Yamas Of Yoga
Ahimsa
Satya
Asteya
Bhramacharya
Aparigraha
1. Ahimsa
Shutterstock
Ahimsa is non-violence. It advocates one to restrain from any harm either mentally, physically or emotionally to others or even with yourself.
Ahimsa promotes compassion and detests habits like judging, criticizing, anger and irritation.
Compassion is an excellent way to practice non-violence. When you feel and connect with others, you don’t feel like harming them.
Ahimsa tells you to gain the ability to accept things as they are with love and kindness. It encourages you to let the bad feelings go and instead replace it with acceptance and love.
The best way to become compassionate is to try it on yourself. Accept yourself as you are without any judgment making it easier for you to try it on others.
Ahimsa is the foremost of Yama; it is the trick towards leading a happy and tranquil life. As you begin to practice Ahimsa consciously, you will realize that it comes naturally to you and that you can prevent harm spontaneously.
One fine way to begin Ahimsa practice is to be kind, accepting and forgiving. You feel a powerful and deep-rooted confidence when you completely embrace Ahimsa.

2. Satya
Shutterstock
Satya is the truth. It is about living and speaking the truth as it is. It is tough to practice truth because we have to do it while respecting the concept of Ahimsa.
When we know that speaking the truth can harm something, then it is best to restrain it. Satya is all about when to tell the truth and when to keep quiet even when you know the truth.
But that does not mean you ignore that truth or take it off your head. Satya urges you to know the truth in your head even when you shouldn’t say it out aloud.
Knowing and accepting the truth is liberating. It gives you clarity and a higher vision. Living a truthful life is respectful and of a great honor. Above all, it makes you feel good.
Satya is accepting things as they are instead of manipulating it to be the way we want it to be. The best way to practice Satya is to overcome the fear and negativity in your self that prompts you to twist facts.
Once you fight off your fears, you will have no reason to lie to yourself. Also, make it a habit to refrain from telling lies and train yourself to speak with clarity and kindness.

3. Asteya
Shutterstock
Asteya is non-stealing. In other words, it is not taking what is not given to you or not given to you freely.
Sounds relatively simple, but Asteya also means not to steal either physically or mentally or even encourage or help those doing so in mind, word or action. You must not even keep quiet when you see somebody else stealing.
Asteya is a perfect way to overcome greed. When you overcome the itch of taking or the need to take something that is not yours, you lose interest in it, and the riches don’t seem alluring anymore.
Asteya does not necessarily mean to restrain stealing physical objects; it is also stopping from stealing information and robbing people of their emotions and fragility.
Practice Astreya by fixing the problem that urges you to steal. Be happy with what you have, become satisfied and do not feel jealous of others. Make those qualities a habit.
Overcome the negative qualities by realizing that wealth is just a state of mind. And as you increase your inner wealth by selflessly giving, you automatically increase your outer wealth.
Back To TOC
4. Bhramacharya
Shutterstock
Brahmacharya is self-control. The world will topple if there is no restraint imposed. Gain control over your physical and mental state, then the need to go overboard lessens.
Knowledge, power, and stability come from self-control. Going overboard with anything will only spell disaster. Brahmacharya keeps you balanced and focused.
It takes great courage to come out of your addictions and excessive fun. But you must know that each time you try and overcome a bad habit, it feels great. It makes you healthier, happier and wiser.
Brahmacharya brings moderation into your life. By being moderate, you conserve a lot of energy which you can direct towards achieving a higher purpose.
Brahmacharya helps you turn inward, helping you find out what you truly need and eliminating anything that seems unnecessary. It helps you fight cravings and become independent.
When you free yourself from temptation, sensual pleasures and addictions, you feel a great inner joy. To be able to do this, you need to clean out the dirt that you watch, talk and listen to.
Keep away from films, books and people that divert you from the path of Brahmacharya and deplete your energy unnecessarily.
Back To TOC
5. Aparigraha
Aparigraha is non-desire. It is letting go of everything that we do not need and keeping only that is necessary.
Physical objects are first on the list that you must let go. You must stop craving them and not bother much about possessing them.
Aparigraha teaches you to realize the temporary nature of worldly objects. Clinging to or becoming attached to something temporary is not okay as that disallows you to be open to receive what you need.
Aparigraha urges you to question yourself each time you call something yours. It helps you to maintain a balanced feeling towards the things you possess and restrain you from getting too attached to it.
It trains you to use things given to you but not own them. When you become attached to worldly possessions, you are in fact hypnotized. They gain power over you and control your behavior.
Whereas, if you use them as they are and not get emotionally attached then you can enjoy their benefits wholly without being bogged down by false expectations.
Begin the practice of aparigraha by analyzing your relationship with people and objects. Use objects to help you instead of making them a part of your personality. Be balanced in relationships, let there be a mutual give and take of respect and work.

Now, let’s answer some common queries on Yama and yoga.
Expert’s Answers For Readers’ Questions
How important is Yama in today’s world?
There is nothing more useful than Yama in today’s world. It teaches you to be balanced in this ever-changing and ever hyperventilating world.
How often do I practice Yama?
Yama is a continued process. If you take breaks from it, then the whole point of it is ruined.
We need a reliable moral guide to tell us what is wrong and right. In the rush of this fast and mad world, we don’t even realize to think if what we are doing is right. The lines are blurring between what is correct and bad. In such a situation, it is of utmost importance that you learn and practice the 5 principles of Yama. Do it now.

Is Your Thumb Straight Or Crooked? Here’s What It Means
Here’s a conversation starter for you.
The next time you are stalking (yes, we are calling you out on this!), forget the dress sense or the smiles of the person. Look at their thumbs instead!
You’ve heard about green thumbs – a person who has this incredible ability to make plants grow well by seemingly just playing around with them. They don’t even have to be serious about gardening or botany! Indeed, we all know at least someone with a green thumb. But did you know that each one of us has thumbs that are distinct enough to be told apart?
Just like the lines on our palm tell the story of our lives, our thumbs can provide some brilliant insights into our personality.
You may not have realized this, but our thumbs are different from other people’s. It’s not like fingerprints, where each one is unique, but our thumbs differ, and accordingly, our personalities.
The perfect time to play this game secretly would be when someone gives you a thumbs-up. They think you are smiling at their gesture, but you are really reading their personality and knowing things they don’t think you will know about them. In fact, when that person sends you a thumbs-up emoticon on Whatsapp, go ahead and ask them to send you a photo of their real thumb!
Maybe this is why the Roman emperor, Julius Caesar, ordered the thumbs of his captured opponents to be cut off!
Like our hair and our figures, thumbs can be straight, curvy, or crooked (can be read as frizzy for hair). Thumbs also have different lengths, structures, and shapes.
Let’s explore the different kinds of thumbs:
1. Straight Thumb
Some just have it straight. There’s nothing that their thumb will do or they can do about that fact. It just stands straight without the slightest bend whatsoever. But this lack of dexterity is no cause for concern; it doesn’t mean that the person is rigid. The person is just a lot more serious than those with thumbs that do bend. Do not categorize them as party poopers just yet. They may not show how excited they are, but they may be the ones with the sneaky, lethal joke that causes first a pin drop silence (due to the fact that it came from Mr. Straight Thumb), and then an uproar of appreciation and laughter. Their seriousness works in their favor. Through determination and hard work, people with straight thumbs usually climb the ladder of success quite steadily. Their steadfast qualities make them a great friend to have, but don’t mess with them unnecessarily!
2. Crooked Thumb
Flexibility is the word here. Unlike the meaning of the actual word crooked, not all who have crooked thumbs are crooks. Crooked thumbs bend backward easily, and how much it bends depends on the person. People with crooked thumbs are very expressive, so, if you are someone who likes to listen and have deep conversations, seek people with crooked thumbs to make friends. The chances are that the calm and the patient among your friends are those with the crooked thumbs. They are the ones you want to call when you are stressed or restless because they offer strong emotional support and can help put matters in perspective for you. If they are stressed, people with crooked thumbs are more likely to enunciate clearly than perhaps those with straight thumbs.
3. Obtuse Thumbs
Will the musicians and the artists please stand up? Look at the thumbs of those creatively talented among us – they usually have a thumb that makes an obtuse angle with their index finger. Much like the rest of their fingers, such people have thumbs with clean lines that rise elegantly and look good even if they don’t get regular manicures. Such people are thoughtful, reflective, and creative.
Apart from these, thumbs can also be characterized as hard or soft thumbs. Much like those words, hard thumbs indicate a person with immense self-control, patience, and confidence whereas a soft thumb indicates a pleasant and adaptable personality.
Which Part Of Your Thumb Is Longer?
Observe your thumb for the two parts that it is divided into, and you will notice that those two halves are not necessarily equal. If the upper half is longer than the bottom half, then you probably possess a tremendous amount of willpower. This willpower allows you to excel and succeed through hard work and stay committed to the people in your life.
If the second half is longer, then it means that you are driven by logic. You probably have mapped out a million pros and cons list in your lifetime, and do not make decisions lightly.
So, what kind of thumb do you and your loved ones have?
