I’ve always said that the way I feel about the Captain, and the reason he was my instant favourite, is this: it’s like walking into a party and seeing someone you know. The ‘blustering but ineffectual authority figure’ is a really recognisable comedy staple. Just him being there positions Ghosts in a long line of classic British sitcoms. And then they flipped that archetype by giving him a relatable inner conflict and all his funny little idiosyncrasies, all those hints at the real person buried beneath the persona ♡ Anyway, none of these characters are identical to Captain, but I think he certainly shares some of their DNA and I just felt like gathering them together
I haven't had time to post for a while but I couldn't get Ralph and Ted from The Fast Show out of my head. This show broke me. It was the saddest comedy I've ever seen.
So here you have Ted and Ralph chilling (being awkward) together :]
Additional Tags: Crack, but aren’t both these series basically crack anyway?, Sexual Humor, this is essentially just a narrative series of sex jokes. you're welcome
Summary:
Bertie tries a new tailor. The employees make some deuced rummy comments. Jeeves does not approve.
So just shut the fuck up then?? Stop ranting on Twitter and going on GMB for arguments and just write scripts you sad cunt, it's not that difficult to just. get over it
My brain rot for this pair is about to get a whole lot worse.
(that's right this film does not exist anywhere on the internet so I had to pay £20 for a DVD which is nearly unavailable to buy in order to watch this)
Seems like a good time to bring back one of my first ever fan creations; a crossover between Doctor Who and The Fast Show. Don't ask me to explain The Fast Show; it was an odd 90's sketch show that was brought back on YouTube for a bit. More just characters saying catchphrases than jokes (kind of like Little Britain). Just search YouTube for 'The Fast Show Brilliant' and you'll likely find the character being mimicked here.
my (possibly not very) hot take of the day is that Ted and Ralph is to Jeeves and Wooster as Raffles is to Holmes. in both cases i feel that someone looked at a famous piece of media about two dudes often read as queer and went “all right that’s a great piece of media. but consider: what if it was gayer and more sad”
