Chocolate and confusion

He stood at the counter, staring down at the box of chocolates, the fluorescent lights casting harsh shadows over his face. After a long moment, he lifted a hand and touched the edge of the box.His tail slashed sideways—and he shoved the chocolates off the counter. They crashed to the floor, the small delicacies scattering over the linoleum.

I would love to read this scene from Zylas' POV!!

Zylas was scrutinizing me, his eyebrows low over critical red eyes.“Um.” I blinked. “Zylas?”He turned to the demon mage. “Nailēranis et nā. Eshaillā kir?” “Probably.” Jaw tightening, Zylas returned his stare to me, his expression intent as though he were rearranging his understanding of my incomprehensible human brain.

Was he comprehending why Robin is in danger of the other mages and what it meant when they said "you have the look"? Or was he wondering about her panicked reaction to his strength when he chose to "make her squirm"?

New Stories!

Hey all! I know I haven't posted or updated anything in forever here, but I wanted to let everyone know that I have been writing and posting.

On AO3. ^^;

The formatting issue between Google, Tumblr and AO3 used to be so annoying that what I would do was write on Tumblr, copy/paste on Google, edit the parts that needed fixing, then copy/paste again on AO3, so I got into the habit of just cutting Tumblr out of the equation.

Then Tumblr got an update that allowed the copy of formatting from the clipboard to its text editor, but I ended up just not posting the new things I was writing on AO3. I have several stories there that have never been put here on Tumblr.

So, I figured I should at least link them. :3

Protecting Humans for the Irritated (A retelling of the entire book series from Zylas's perspective. Eventual naughty stuff.)

Breaking Rules for Professionals (A continuation of the series. Robin and Zylas's problems are far from over. Now they gotta figure out how to keep him hidden for life instead of just for the few months they'd expected their adventure to last. Naughty stuff sprinkled here and there ;) .)

He selected a red velvet cookie. Ate it. Said nothing.

“You were so quick to tell me my blood tasted gross, but you can’t come up with a single observation about my baking?”

Smirking, he ate a fourth cookie without comment.

“You’re infuriating.”

His tail swished. He sampled the final cookie option, then licked a smear of sticky caramel off his finger. Grumbling under my breath, I turned to the sink heaped with dirty dishes.

“In my world,” he said unexpectedly, “there is a type of … tree.”

I faced him again, my brow furrowed in puzzlement.

“On the tree, it grows small …” He cupped his hands as though holding something. “… small fruits. The outside is poisonous, deadly, but inside is juicy and sweet. We fight over these trees. I have killed to take the fruit when it is ripe.”

He picked up another s’more cookie. “These are better.”
