A Dark Stranger pt.4
Tumblr media
Summary: Dracula is alive, awake, and knows more than anybody wants him too. There is mention of self-harm. I know that this can be a touchy subject for some people. I myself struggled with it for years, and I want to say right now that if it is something you are going through, you are loved, you matter, and it’s going to be okay. That being said, please don’t read this if mentions of self-harm upset you!! (Also, look at that smile!)
Warnings: language, mention of self-harm, little angst, Dracula is kind of gentle
“You could always ask nicely.” The deep voice pulled all attention toward Dracula who now lay there with his eyes closed and a teasing smile on his lips. Then he opened his eyes and looked at Dr. Carol. “Maybe say, ‘please.’” He sat up and sung his feet over the side of the cot, but he did not stand. His normally clear eyes were slightly foggy, and if he had a pulse, he was sure he would be able to hear his heartbeat in his ears. He had to focus and re-hone his senses. He took a sharp, unneeded breath then let it out slowly, “Ahhhh, there it is.” He could once again hear the blood pumping through the veins of his three spectators. Looking around at the glass walls that encased him once again, he smiled and stood. “Well, Dr. Carol, as much as I love listening to your theories about my recovery, I’ll be happy to inform you that I am recovering much quicker than you had expec- ackk!!” Dracula, fell to his knees and clinched his stomach from the sharp pain centered there, then began laughing. “Zoe’s blood certainly did have quite an effect on me. There is still a bitter taste in my mouth from it.” Using the table in the center of his cage to push himself back to his feet left him meeting the intense stare of the younger man, “Hmmm. Hello, Jack. Did you miss me? I never got to say goodbye after our last visit. You ran away so quickly after you killed my beautiful Lucy and left Zoe to die. Tell me, how do you live with yourself?”
“Don’t listen to him, Dr. Seward. It wasn’t your fault.” Kelly didn’t give Jack a chance to answer.
“Ohh, hello there. I haven’t seen you before. What’s your name?” The vampire tilted his head, his eyes softened and a charming smile replaced his devious one. “It’s alright. You can tell me. Or not. I’ll find out sometime.” He sink her a sly wink.
“Kelly. My name is Kelly.”
“Kelly. Lovely.” He nodded his head then turned back to Dr. Carol who was now standing beside Jack. “As for what you are going to do with the sunroof, you could open it up. I have truly missed the sunlight you know. And for the experiments, I’m assuming you want more of my blood since Dr. Helsing drank the first bit she took from me. Don’t expect me to continue to offer it though. Giving blood I not something I have any desire to become a costume too. In fact,” his eyes found Kelly’s, “I could use a drink. Just a taste, really.”
“Not Kelly.” Dr. Carol stated firmly, but was quickly covered by Kelly.
“Fine.” She looked at Dr. Carol and Jack, “I’ll do it.”
“No, Kelly. We still have others that signed up for this and are getting paid for this. We will bring in one of them.”
“She’s right, Kelly.” Jack stepped toward her.
“I thought I made it quite clear during my last visit here that I do not like cattle. I’m picky, and I pick, Kelly.” He motioned toward the receptionist.
“It’s fine. Maybe it will appease him for a bit.” Kelly whispered to both of the doctors to keep Dracula from hearing, but the tall man in the glass merely rolled his eyes at the failed attempt. ‘When will these humans learn?’ he thought to himself. Then Kelly turned to him, and Dr. Carol unlocked the door.
“Hurt her or take too much blood, and I’ll-”
“You’ll what, Doctor? Open the roof to give me a long overdue tan? You don’t know how to kill me now anymore than I do. I guess this means you’ll just have to trust me.” He smiled at the glaring redhead as she unlocked the door to let the other young woman inside. Kelly cautiously entered the glass confinement and jumped when Dracula suddenly appeared in front of her. He took her face gently in his large hand, then ran his finger down her neck to where her pulse was raging. Brushing her hair away from her neck, he bent in close. As we was about to bite, she stopped him.
“Wait,” She whimpered. “Not, not the neck. Please.” Dracula stood up, eyes red with hunger, and she offered him her left arm. He grabbed her wrist and looked at it intently. He would not be the first to harm her here. Leeding her back to the cot and sitting her down, he ran his finger over the scars that decorated her arm and looked at her.
“Do not tell me you have done this to yourself, little one. Blood is far too valuable to be lost for such a fleeting, selfish reason.” He brought her wrist to his mouth and placed a gentle kiss on one of her many scars. His next words muffled by her skin so only she could hear. “There are better ways to be free.” His fangs pierced her skin.
“Oh fuck!” She screamed through gritted teeth. The next thing she knew, she was standing on a cliff. The waves crashed below her as the orange glow of the setting sun reflected off the waves. It was calm. Peaceful. She closed her eyes and breathed in the sea air.
“Beautiful, isn’t she?” Dracula said from behind her. She turned to see him staring at the sun as a man returning to his lover after many years of war. “Why do you do this to yourself?” He asked, never looking at her.
“Why do you care? You kill people, remember?” She said harshly.
“Yes. But I was human once, a long time ago, and I do remember what heartache felt like. A broken heart is not something that easily heals, even after centuries of your heart ceasing to beat. There comes a time when you must move past it. Find your life outside of the pain.”
“It’s not that easy.”
“You’re right. It’s not that easy. It’s not easy at all.” Dracula finally faced her. “I have lived a long time, Kelly. I’ve had 500 years to learn how to overcome pain. But you don’t have that long. Go, find a reason to overcome it. Find a reason to move on. The pain, in the end, is not worth the trouble. And this...” He held her wrists up for her to see. “This is not the way.” She closed her eyes and a tear fell. Dracula’s cool hand returned to her cheek and wiped away the hot tear, bringing her back to reality. When she opened her eyes, she was back in the glass room sitting on the cot. Dracula was holding her wrist tenderly and closing the wound. Just another scar in a map of many.
She stood and without looking at him said, “Dr. Carol, Dr. Seward, would you please excuse me? There is something I need to do.”
“Um, of course, Kelly. Do whatever you need to.” Dr. Carol said opening the door and closing it again behind her. Kelly nodded then moved to face Jack.
“I wont tell her anything. I’ll just say that I came home because I wasn’t feeling well. Then you two can discuss how much information you want her to know. She may take it better from you anyways.” Jack shook his head in agreement and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Thank you, Kelly. I’ll call her as soon as I can.” Jack and Kelly shared a little smile, but neither fully reached the eyes before Kelly made her exit. Once the heavy steel door closed behind her, Dracula shifted regaining the attention of the doctors. Any gentleness about him was gone and the look of a scheming predator returned.
“She? Her? I can only assume you are referring to the lovely little blonde girl I viewed in Kelly’s memory. The one who has just moved to London. Dr. Seward’s cousin. Umm, Rose, isn’t it, Jackie?” He smiled wildly when Jack started toward the glass; Dr. Carol grabbed his arm.
“Calm down, Jack.” Dr. Carol said.
“If you lay a finger on her, I swear to God-”
“Swear to someone else, Doctor. Zoe helped me realize many things about myself, and I can promise you that little cross she wears around her neck no longer has an effect on me.”
“I’ll see you burn in Hell, demon!” Jack spat.
“OHH! Feisty thing, aren’t you!” Dracula laughed. He and Jack where only inches away from each other now, separated only by the glass between them. “I do hope she is as lively as you are.” Dracula may be secretly working to reform himself based on recent revelations caused by drinking Zoe’s blood, but they didn’t need to know that. Besides, taunting them was so much fun.  “Enough!” Dr. Carol nearly shouted, pulling Jack away toward the door. “Jack, come with me. We need to get you out of her before you do something foolish. Rather than arguing with him over Rose, we need to decide what we are going to do about her since she is clearly in the middle of things now.” She opened the door and pushed Jack out into the hallway.
Just before the door shut, Jack heard Dracula say, “Tell that sweet flower, ‘Hello!’”
“Jack, breathe. You need to calm down.”
“I’m not going to let him hurt her. He cannot have her!”
“And he won’t! He is locked up in there, and she is out here. She is going back to the States very soon, you said so yourself.”
“What am I going to tell her?” Jack was still struggling to calm his breathing, and he was pacing in small circles.
“As I said before, this information was on a need-to-know basis. Now that he is aware of her existence and relation to you,” she sighed, “I think, she needs to know.”
“What?” Jack said shocked, “You can’t be serious.”
“You need to tell her the truth, Jack. All of it. Hiding this information from her is no longer an option.”
“She is going to think I am crazy!” He was growing hysterical. Rose would never look at him the same way again. She would tell the rest of the family that he had gone mad.
“Jack,” Dr. Carol placed her hand on his shoulder, very similar to how he had with Kelly. “Honestly is the only way to keep her safe now. Who knows what she may have told Kelly while they were together, especially if they were intoxicated. And if Dracula can see some of Kelly’s memories about Rose, then there is no way for us to sure of what he does or does not know about her. That means that she is not even safe back in the U.S. She needs to know what she is potentially up against.”
Jack ran his fingers through his straight brown hair and groaned in defeat. “Alright. I’ll see if Kelly will help me. She might find it easier to believe if we both tell her.”
“Good idea.” Together the doctors returned to the lobby, “Try to be sensitive. Convincing someone that fairytales are actually real is not easy.”
“I’ll do my best.” They shook hands, and Jack got into the cab thinking of all the ways the conversation with Rose could go wrong. Then it struck him; Dracula had referred to Rose as ‘The one who had just moved to London,’ but she was only visiting. “Please, God, let her only be visiting.”

Back in the glass cell, Dracula sat at the table drumming his overly shape nails against the table. He knew he wasn’t at his full strength yet, perhaps these doctors and their tests could prove useful to him after all; although, he doubted any of them were nearly as brilliant as the Van Helsing women. Such a pity really, to have lost them both. He looked around his little glass room and laughed when he saw that they had left that ridiculous toilet in the corner. His cot was too short, and this time they didn’t give him a tablet to read books on. He fake pouted. “Hey!” He shouted. “You could at least have the decency to bring me a Bible! I haven’t read one of those in several centuries. I’d like to see how bad you selfish morons have messed it up since the 15th century!”
Oh well, he had more important things to worry anyways. Now that Zoe had helped him learn his greatest fear, he had to figure out the right steps to overcome it. Perhaps the was a reason to live, or be undead, rather. He was determined to figure that out. It was hard, however, when with each thought came the distracting image of this beauty, this Rose. Her porcelain skin, piercing blue eyes, and blonde hair with curls that framed her face perfectly. was more than a desire to taste her blood; this was a burning he had not felt since warm blood flowed through his now icy veins. He raised his index finger and drew lines in the glass. He needed to be near her, but he couldn’t do that from inside here. With one swift motion, the glass was shattered on the ground around him and the steel door thrown from its hinges. The alarms sounded, and panic arose once again at the Jonathan Harker Foundation. Dr. Carol didn’t have to look to know what had happened. She simply pulled out her phone and sent a text to Jack.
*He’s loose.*

Thots on Far Cry New Dawn
ok so. imma put some of this under the cut because i dont want to spoil it for you’s who are still playing through it. but uhhhh gotta say. i was a bit underwhelmed by it over all.
ok so firstly i try not to judge a series of games based on previous installments because it doesnt feel fair to compare apples and oranges. but... this game was so obsessed with what happened in fc5 that it only feels fair that i’m allowed to look back as well.
So first and foremost, the game has a large emotional disconnect between Cap and citizens of hope county. All we really know about cap is that they are working for Thomas Rush to rebuild settlements across America.  So they aren’t even from hope county and they have no context for anything that waits for them there. I was excited to see an outside perspective on the events of fc5, hear stories about the deputy that brought on the end of the world. I learned v quickly that this was a fool’s dream. See the problem with relaying the events of fc5 to a character like cap is they have next to no reason to be invested in the past of this area except “hey there’s fresh water here” or “hey this is a defensible position right”. Any emotional weight is shrugged off by Cap having no context of the history of these people or their struggles with each other. WE as players know everything. We’ve seen the horrors of Eden’s gate, we’ve seen the destruction the Seeds brought to hope county. We know what the fuck is going on. But cap has NO idea. And honestly isn’t really given a reason to try and find out more about it. Everything cap is doing is in an effort to bring down the highway men and build up settlements. (well. Settlement. All we have are outposts) why the hell would they care about who was who. What the fuck is a boomer. Who is this deputy everyone vaguely mentions and why do I give a shit?
And this gets to be a more noticeable problem as we interact with Joseph Seed. Big Daddy Greasy Jesus himself. I hate joseph as a person, love him as a villain. But… seeing him in this game, being forced to work with him as a player (KNOWING what he’s done and the countless lives he’s ruined) and the whole while the only person cap sees is some yoda motherfucker with meth apples that help you hulk out like… once.
That moment when joseph asks you to kill him? It made No Sense as to why cap would shoot him?? In their eyes, joseph has done nothing wrong. Ok maybe he wasn’t an A+ parent but nothing worth killing him over. This moment that is supposed to hold so much weight and meant to be a sort of catharsis for us as players and it just feels… hollow.
Lets discuss the Deputy. Because I have. Many feelings.
I honestly don’t understand why they weren’t the player character again. The narrative wouldn’t have had this huge emotional canyon to be filled between the county and cap. Coming across old guns for hire and friends would actually have… meant something. Revisiting old locations only to see them crumbled and over grown. Any interaction between them and joseph seed would have been charged with tension and held more water. Not to mention it would have made that decision in killing him potentially rewarding and not just “ehh I guess, you dick.”
Instead, the Judge is just kinda… there. In fact everyone is just kinda… there. But I got a laundry list of how Ubisoft did our baby Rook dirty.
[if !supportLists]1.     [endif]Your efforts in the first game feel invalidated. Not just because you “lost” but because of how brushed under the rug the Deputy is. Only a few companions from the first game even Address the Judge. And even then, its no where near the emotional closure we would have liked.
[if !supportLists]2.     [endif]Sharky doesn’t even speak to the judge. Nor does Grace. Nick has one throw away line. 0/10
[if !supportLists]3.     [endif]Only Jerome and Carmina come close to giving any validation as far as showing a connection to Judge. Even then Jerome was more on the side of “I’m disappointed in you for having changed into this.” Hurk just makes jokes. Albeit funny jokes but still.
[if !supportLists]4.     [endif]Also wasn’t the identity of the judge supposed to be a secret? Why the hell does everyone else know and new eden doesn’t?
[if !supportLists]5.     [endif]The judge has NO reaction to either ending. None. Joseph lives or dies, it is the same. Silence.
[if !supportLists]6.     [endif]Also why the hell does Cap get to kill him when the Deputy has suffered infinitely more at the hands of that lunatic? How am I supposed to feel like this is a rewarding decision to make?
I don’t know about anyone else, but I was very attached to my deputy. She wasn’t just a shell I inhabited as I played fc5. I wanted to know what happened to her after she escaped the bunker with joseph and I wanted her to find peace and closure after all she had sacrificed and suffered. The Junior Deputy deserved better!
Ok, so I’m moving on to the Twins. Honestly, they should have had their own game. Their potential as well rounded and fun far cry villains is wasted here.
The actresses did a wonderful job in making them charismatic and I loved the way their actions synced up and how one would finish the sentence of the other. It was very unified and the connection between them was very clear.
But I couldn’t connect with them as far as feeling threatened on screen. You could say it’s because we inherently don’t find women as scary as men in media and that’s entirely possible but narratively speaking, the Twins aren’t as threatening to me as villains because they lack something very vital – direction and purpose.
Mind you, all the far cry villains are so over the top and their motives don’t always make sense but I cannot wrap my head around the Twins motives? They’re here to have a good time and I guess they like to party but?? Why the hell would they want hurk’s baby, yknow? Why do they talk about problem solvers and problem makers when objectively, they HAVE to know they create more problems than they solve.
They TRY to give Mickey some depth with their mother and her making mickey promise to be better. But like… there’s not a lot of indication of growth or change or even regret in the end. After Lou’s death is only when mickey acknowledges that they only tore things down and never bothered making the world better but… lol where the hell did that conclusion come from? Why now? Why are you bringing this up now? (again cap has no context as to the significance of Mickey’s promise to her mother about protecting lou or trying to be better) At least with the Seeds they had a very clear purpose (prepare for the end of the world and horde as much shit as possible). Pagan Min had a purpose (crush the resistance that threatened his rule). Even Vaas as crazy and chaotic as he was still had a purpose in furthering Hoyt’s empire of drugs and slavery.
Also, the Twins are sort of in the backseat because of Joseph’s presence. It’s like ubisoft didn’t trust them to carry the series forward and instead chose to try and get a previous villain to anchor on. It diminishes their presence and importance and really just adds to the jumbled mess that is this game.
I personally blame rushed writing. Far Cry has a problem with putting out games fast and half baked. Far cry primal received a lot of flack for being a reused map of fc4. And I think given enough time and drafts this game could have been something better. Not perfect by any means. But definitely its own game.
All in all, I probably wont play it again. It doesn’t appeal to me anymore and has too many shortcomings for me to actually enjoy it. Day two of me playing it felt like just a confused slogging mess and I just zoomed through so I wouldn’t see spoilers on tumblr.

In The Name of Science -  Part 5
Prompt: Over the course of a month, both Rex and Dellum undergo their own separate journeys as they discover what it is they really want.
Pairing: Captain Rex X OFC
Warnings: Adult themes
Part 1 I Part 2 I Part 3 I Part 4
The bustling sounds of a normal Galactic City morning was what had waken Dellum up from her deep slumber. She squinted in irritation at her window, the blinds drawn slightly, allowing the bothersome light to shimmer through as the Coruscant sun lifted into the sky. In most situations she would consider this a lovely way to wake up, however most nights she didn’t go to bed incredibly inebriated.
Within moments of waking up Dell was met with a pounding headache and a wave of mild nausea. Grumbling in annoyance the woman shuffled beneath the covers, realizing she was experiencing the beginning of a well deserved hangover. Last night she had easily blown through two bottles of wine. If she remembered correctly Rex had helped her in to bed before leaving.. Wait, had he actually left? Dellum could have sworn he had joined her in bed.. But didnt recall him leaving?
She snapped her eyes open and turned to see an vacant space. She stared at the empty bed for a long time, debating on if she were relieved that the man had left or if she was actually disappointed by his absence. Maybe even a little bit of both.
In her groggy self-debate Dell happened to notice there was something on her bedside table. Upon further investigation she was pleasantly surprised by its contents.
A glass of water and some low dose painkillers were laid out, Rex must have found them in her refresher. Her personal datapad, which she could have sworn she left in the living room, was also there. The small blinking light on the top corner indicated there was something that required attention. Intrigued, Dellum grabbed the small device to take a closer look.
There was an open E-Document that simply read, “Drink up and get some rest, lightweight.”
The caring gesture brought a tiny smile to Dellum’s lips. If it weren't for her hindered state she may have even laughed. Regardless of her forward reaction, the kind intentions of the Clone were blatant and she couldn’t possibly be more pleased.
Dellum set the datapad off to the side before swallowing the pain killers. In the process she also downed the rest of the glass, thankful for Rex’s thoughtful actions. With a content sigh she laid her head back on the very same pillow that Rex had the very night before. Taking in a deep breath she realized the pillow still had his scent on it. It wasn’t until her third or forth inhale did it dawn on her that she may indeed be smitten with the clone soldier known as Captain Rex.
~
“So it’s a relief mission?” Captain Rex questioned, bringing his hand to his chin as he digested the information given to him by General Skywalker.
“Not entirely. This population is being unlawfully harassed by Separatist bodies. You are to get in and take care of any Separatist operations you may see-” General Skywalker was suddenly interrupted by General Kenobi.
“-However, our main priority is keeping the citizens safe. It’s a small area, most of which has already been evacuated. But during your efforts to drive off the Separatist, if you see any civilians escort them back too the safety zone..” The bearded Jedi pointed to a marked off location on the holo-map. “..-Right there.”
Captain Rex and Commander Cody exchanged a glance before nodding in response to their orders. “Yes sir!”
Over the coarse of the next few hours the two clones divided their men into the appropriate divisions before sending them off into their designated areas. Rex himself was about the depart the station to join his men on the field when he was approached by Cody.
“Brother, do you have a minute before you head out?” Rex thought his tone to be hushed and more serious than usual. Assuming whatever Cody wanted to speak about to be of great importance, he obliged.
“Of course.”
The Clone Commander cleared his throat and gestured for Rex to follow him out into the hall. Rex followed but a bit of paranoia bubbled around his mind. Whereas Cody didn’t have any direct command over him or his platoon, he was still a higher ranking officer than he. Had he done something wrong? Or was this a personal matter?
Rex himself considered them to be friends, close friends. Though he’d never say it aloud, he’d even go as far as to say Cody was his best friend. What could he possibly have to say? Once the two Clones were out in the privacy of the uninhibited halls, Cody removed his helmet before sighing slightly.
“So, this may be a weird thing to talk about but...” Cody rolled his eyes a bit, as if he was somewhat embarrassed of the words he hadn’t yet spoken. “.. But, as your friend, I have to ask...”
Rex, now more interested in what the man had to say than ever, removed his own helmet so they could speak face to face. “Go ahead, brother.”
“I guess the best thing for me to do is to be direct.” Cody scratched the back of his head before continuing. “I wont say who, due to confidentiality, but a part of 501st has come to me in confidence, worried that you may be breaking protocol.”
While maintaining a completely normal expression Rex felt his heart jump out of his chest.
“Accusations that you’ve left the Coruscant barracks on three different occasions for unspecified personal reasons have been brought to my attention. Now, we all know that leaving the GAR is within protocol but, erm.. personal fraternization with a civie on a regular basis is against the regulations.” Cody paused, studying Rex’s face perhaps for any indication of guilt.
“I’m aware of the regulations, Cody.” Rex said in a calm tone. If Rex had too, he’d put his money on Dogma for being the one to be so offended at his absences that he’d have the audacity to go tattle to their neighboring platoon leader.
“I know you are and that’s not even really why I’m bringing this up.” Cody reached out an arm, placing it on Rex’s shoulder as a form of affection and reassurance. Then he took in a deep breath, smiling slightly before speaking again. “Regardless of what you may or may not be involved in outside of the the military.. keep in mind there’s a war raging on. But one day there wont be. Until then, ya know... just be careful.” He pulled his arm back down to his side. “It’s easy to get wrapped up in something. Just dont get court marshaled before your life even really begins, brother.”
“Cody.. I do-”
Cody put on his helmet before cutting Rex off. “Let’s speak no more of it. We’ve got clankers to blast.”
~
"Interesting..”  Dellum squinted as she looked through the microscope, some of Rex’s skin cells resided in the glass slide.
Between working long hours at the Grand Republic Medical Facility and the time she’d spent with Rex over the past few weeks, Dell hadn’t actually had anytime to properly look over the DNA she’d managed to gather. So she’d carefully stored the specimens in question for her time off. Which was now.
But now that she finally had some time to get things done Dellum was finding it impossible to focus. Her head was in the stars and her captivated heart was right there with it, beating relentlessly to a song that Dell didn’t care for.
She was a woman on a mission and she had come so far and spent so many years researching and studying. The fact that there was something that was important enough to distract her from her work was a bizarre concept. And yet here she was, lips mindless curled into a delighted smile and eyes sparkling as she shamelessly reminisced.
Dellum thought herself too good for daydreaming usually, fancying herself an independent woman. Her mother always ragged on her for being single and unwed, constantly pointing out that being successful did not negate the need for companionship. Dellum usually didn't pay her mom’s words any mind but for some reason, over the past day or so, it had been ringing through her mind like a constant scroll.
Was she lonely? Dellum didn’t think so... Or did she?
But then again, why couldn't she get Rex out of her head? It’d been a few days since she’d seen him, the better part of a week in fact. And that would surely be the last time she’d see him as well! She didn’t invite him back to her apartment and the man hadn’t tried to contact her since. Their interactions were done, case closed.
It was for the best after all. Despite her actions not being of a malicious nature there was still a guilt that twinged at her heart when she remember how their intimacy began with an elaborately staged lie. It wouldn’t be a good idea to start a relationship on something so complicated, right?
“Wait..” Dellum grumbled aloud, sighing deeply as she stood up from her desk. “He’s a Clone.. a Clone!” She continued, scolding herself as she stormed out of her study.
The fact that she had entertained the thought of wanting a relationship with Rex was astounding, and for many reasons! One, he was a Clone for Forces sake! An unpaid servant too the Republic! Two, she had lied to him, a lot! As far as Rex knew, Dellum was completely unbeknownst to his true identity, not to mention the fact that she had lied about her employment as well.
Third... Well, There wasn’t a third. And when she attempted to add on more reasons to the list Dellum could only come up with positives. Little characteristics she’d noticed about the man that she’d even admired. He was incredibly kind and caring.. He was handsome, strong, and all around wonderful!
“Karabast!” Dellum exhaled and shut her eyes, reeling from her self denial.
“You’re not really interested in him..” She told herself, walking over to pick up her data pad. “You’re lonely.. You just need to get out there, meet some people!”
From there she pulled up an e-file with her personal contacts, it was time to call some old friends and set up a few dates.
~
Rex chewed on his lip, finding himself lost in thought. Gripping tightly to his blaster he escorted a small group of refugees back to the civilian relief camp. He glanced back, making sure everyone was keeping up with the group.  He was somewhat pleased to see everyone was managing fine on their own. In the back of the crowd he spotted Kix. They exchanged a brief nod before Rex turned his head back to the front.
It had been a nearly a week since Cody had confronted him.  Even so, Rex couldn’t stop replaying the conversation over and over again in his brain. What exactly did Cody know about his situation? Did he actually know anything or was it all speculation? The uncertainty of it all irritated Rex and the more he pondered the question, the less satisfied he was.
And, even though his friend meant well, where in the great big galaxy did Cody get off preaching such profound words when the Clones had no guarantee of a life after the war? Cody was from the first generation of clones, just like Rex. They were both fully aware that there were no legitimate plans for the Clone Army after the war, whenever that may be.
Rex, himself, avoided thoughts about the subject all together. The few times he had allowed his imagination to wonder however, grim theories popped into his mind. The most realistic possibility was the Republic carbonating the entire clone army until a day came that they would need another army. Thousands of bodies just frozen; their humanity disregarded as they collected dust in some storage unit. The thought was disgusting and made Rex sick to his stomach.
On the other hand, he had other theories that were far less bleak. For example, after the Republic finally knocked the Separatist movement out of power the Clones would be given real citizenship and a chance at a real life! Each man would be given a small amount of credits and a one way ticket to the system of their choice. A chance to live out their own life, the life that they had rightfully earned through the actions of dedicated service.
But Rex knew better, no matter how much he tried to deny it, the gravity of the situation was much more harsh. Most people didn’t see the Clones as men at all... they saw them as weapons. As objects. As nothing.
In spite of this Rex gave his loyalty to the Republic. He served the cause too the best of his ability. Why? Well.. because that’s what he had been made to do. What else was there for him? The answer, he didn’t know.
But that’s just the thing.. There was a whole galaxy out there, wasn’t there? Beyond a clones small reality of formal military protocol and the daily slaughter of his brothers, it was hard to remember that. The Clones may have been tasked with protecting the galaxy but why shouldn't they also be apart of it? It’s concepts like this that often left Rex bitter and confused, unsure if the Republic was as good as he was raised to believe. Why fight against a supposed oppressive movement when he himself was a product of oppression?
Rex was caught off guard by the soft sound of one of the civilians speaking to him. Blinking off his momentarily lapse of attention he then cleared his throat, grounding himself back in the present.
“Is this it?” She repeated herself.
“Excuse me?”
The natives of this planet were human but Basic was a secondary language to them. The frail woman had a thick accent however she was easily understood. “That there-” She meekly pointed at the large tent in the distance. “That is your camp?”
“Yes ma’am.” Rex answered, continuing to walk forward. He’d been so wrapped up in thought it seems a fair amount of time had passed; the team had arrived at their destination.
“Single file, everyone.” Kix declared, jogging to the front of the group to stand at Rex’s side. “We need to process everyone promptly. There’s a station that will take your names and-” Rex found himself zoning out, unable to focus on anything as Kix gave the instructions.
Once Kix had finished Rex entered the tent, taking a look at all the people who were scattered around. Some were injured, most were starving, but the one thing they all had in common was an anxious gleam in their eye. Each time a new person walked in from the processing booth the refugees stared in desperation. Rex imagined they were looking for survivors they knew, loved ones they had assumed dead or lost.
“Tebushka!” Cried one of the men from the tent of refugees as the same women Rex had spoken with earlier entered the area. The man then jumped to his feet, a new wave of energy flowing through his veins at the sight of his beloved.
The woman stopped in her steps, looking weaker than ever, as if she’d just seen a ghost. “S-Sheban!”  At the realization that her loved one was safe and sound the woman became so overwhelmed that she fell to her knees.
Rex watched with a warm heart as the man, presumably named Sheban, ran to her aid. Kneeling down next to her he brought the smaller woman to his chest and began to weep. In their native tongue he whispered sweet nothings to her, his tone shaky and hushed.
A wave of temporary contentment washed through the crowd as the couple embraced one another. After all the devastation that Rex had seen over the past week this was really something he needed to see. Amid the chaos of this war riddled territory these two had managed to find one another again. Rex’s heart felt light, fluttering with a feeling he couldn't quite identify.
As Rex looked over at the reunited lovers Dellum’s sweet smiling face popped into his mind. His stance stiffened in irritation, he’d try to avoid thinking of her all together, which was proving to be an impossible ploy.
He missed her. It was plain and simple. Being around Dellum made him feel normal, like a real man. Not just another number. And, kriff, he may not be a normal man but Dell made him feel so much more than that! She made him feel.. Well, there wasn’t a word for exactly how he felt. Happy? Hopeful? Lustful? Worried? Scared? Terrified? All of those things. All of those things and more.
~
A whole two weeks and three failed dates later, Dellum had never felt more confused. Not even two months ago, if someone had told her that she’d be hung up on some man she’d have laughed in their face. Romance had never been her forte and having a committed relationship was certainly never a part of her plan.
And yet here she was, unable to fathom the idea of not sharing her bed with someone else. The idea of simply having someone who wanted to be with her, well... it suddenly seemed so crucial. So embarrassingly important that she found it impossible to focus on anything else.
But, why did it have to be him? Why did it have to be Rex?
Pursing her lips she thought more into the subject at hand. She reiterated the reasons why wanting him as a partner was a bad idea in the first place. Of course there were the two obvious reasons, the fact that he was a clone and that their entire relationship would have been built on a bunch of lies. Both of them were certainly valid points.
However, Dellum was finally able to calm herself off of this ridiculous quest for ill-suited romance with a third and final reason.
“You have no way to contact him.” She reminded herself in a whisper.
It had been almost an entire month since their final encounter. He’d come over to fix her cabinet, stayed for dinner, and that was that. Many a night she sat in her living room and would peer over at the door, hoping for him to knock.
But it never happened.
“And he hasn’t contacted you.” She continued, finally allowing some ease into her mind. With a deep breath she felt her heart relax. It was easy to move over this mess if she was never to see him again, right?
~
“Alright. All the details have been gathered. If anything else is needed the appropriate person will be contacted. Until next time, dismissed.”
General Kenobi dismissed the post-mission briefing and multiple bodies scattered in different directions, some heading to their barracks and others to their next mission. Captain Rex held his helmet beneath his arm as he stood near the holo-projector, General Skywalker by his side.
“What’s our next objective, General?”
“What?” Anakin questioned, seemingly distracted. “Oh, sorry, Rex... We’re actually here in Coruscant for a few days. The platoon needs to rest up and there are some repairs that need to be made to the Starfighter. I’ll contact you with instructions once the next mission is in order.”
Rex nodded. Though his men truly did need some rest after the month long campaign, he couldn't keep himself form feeling disappointed. He’d been staying busy as possible, keeping his mind off of Dellum.
“Just enjoy yourself, Rex. You’ll work yourself too death.” The Jedi placed a hand on his shoulder, a friendly gesture. “Get some rest for once.”
“What are you going to do with your down time, sir?” Rex inquired casually.
"I have important matters at the Senate that require my attention.”
Rex knew all too well what that meant; Padme.
“Speaking of which, I’ll actually be late if I dont head out now.” The General started in the other direction. “Keep your comlink close, I’ll be in touch, Captain.”
Rex stood there for a moment, realizing the irony surrounding his situation. General Skywalker was secretive enough about his relationship with Senator Padme Amidala... But not secretive enough. Whether or not it was Rex alone who had been able to see through their deception was a mystery too him. But like a respectable man, and a loyal friend, he kept his mouth shut... Who was he too deny another man of happiness?
The Clone Captain put on his helmet as he started walking, covering his worried expression as he pondered the path ahead of him. Thoughts of what he wanted for himself and what the Republic wanted for him...
~
Nothing about the night to come was supposed to be interesting or out of the ordinary. Dellum just wanted to take a hot bath, get some rest, and clear her head. Once her head was clear she would finally be able to sit down and analyze the samples clearly and properly.
“There we go..” the green eyed woman sighed contently as she turned the nozzle, causing the water flow to cease. The tub was full of hot water and the finest salts and oils Coruscant had too offer. If this wouldn’t relax her, then nothing would.
She glanced in the mirror for a moment and shamelessly admired the small braids in her hair, which were pinned too the top of her head. Wearing braids was a fairly rare occurrence for Dellum, which was unusual for an Alderaan female. Even as a young girl she never cared for the traditions of braiding.
However in her moments of stress she always turned to familiarity. Plus it was an easy and comfortable way from keeping her hair up while she soaked in the bath. She was completely naked, save say her silk bathroom.
Suddenly, there was a loud knocking coming from her front door. Understandably this caught her heavily off guard. She wasn’t expecting any company nor did she have any deliveries lined up. With burrowed brows the charcoal haired woman sighed, not ready for social interaction of any sort.
Dellum thought about who could possibly be knocking as she walked down the hall. She had suspected it to possibly be her Rhodian neighbor, Skim, coming to borrow some sugar or something trivial. She tightened her bathrobe, making herself presentable, before finally opening the door.
Dellum stood there agape, staring at the blond haired Clone Trooper in her doorway. It was Rex, her Rex.. What was more surprising than his presence was the fact he was fully dressed in scuffed up Battle Armor.
“R-Rex!?” Dellum managed to say aloud, completely unsure of how to react or feel. She had promised herself that she was going to forget whatever affections she may have formed for the man, insisting that she’d be better off. But now that he was here, right in front of her, the idea seemed impossible.
“Dellum, I..” His voice was light and breathy, as if he had ran here. A light hue of red consumed his cheeks and the ends up his lips curled into a sheepish smile. He was glad to see her, and that by itself made the Alderaanian woman grin up at him. “I came to tell you something.”

Episode 6 thoughts...which are way too many...BEYOND THE WALL
I’m so glad that I decided to wait and watch the entire episode because it was so worth it. This is going to be a long post, so don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you!! SPOILERS BELOW……
Episode 6 starts with focus on the map of Westeros created by Aegon Targaryen and then we directly head to the north of Eastwatch. I didn’t understand why the map was shown to us. But I guessed that since the last thing we see on that table is eastwatch by the sea, I’m assuming they’re trying to tell us, that’s where the focus is going to be.
East watch
So Jon Snow and Co. are walking north of the wall in their quest to find them a Wight. Tormund thinks it’s a stupid idea, which it most definitely is. They don’t have a plan, they don’t know what they are dealing with exactly, they don’t know how many of them are out there. They’re relying on Jon’s Intel which is minimal at best and the hound’s Intel which is based on visions in the fire. It was a stupid plan to begin with and we know now that even the show was trying to establish that very feeling. Thank you Tormund. I love you!!
Talking about Tormund, I loved his banter with Gendry. He also seems to be saying surprisingly prophetic things. When he asks Jon about ‘this dragon queen’ Jon says that she won’t fight by their side unless he bends the knee. Again, Jon is reminded about two things. One that he is not a kneeler and second, how many people is he willing to sacrifice for his pride by giving us the Mance Rayder comparison once again. I think what the show is trying to establish (from Jon’s perspective) here is, how is the northern independence even going to matter if there is no north at all? Ten thousand men can’t defeat the NK and his army and we know this now more than anything else. Going back to season six, Jon tried to take back winterfell from Ramsey Bolton with the men he had and failed miserably. We need more men, said Sansa Stark and proved her point when she got the Knights of the Vale to charge into battle. Jon knows this, that if they have to win against the knight king they need Dani and her army and her dragons. That’s what he believes (at this point) is needed for them to win this war against the NK. Only that he may not be entirely right. But I’ll talk about that a bit later.
Now to Jon and Jorah’s conversation. It’s clear that the two men admire each other. Jon gives Long Claw back to Jorah. He doesn’t think he has a right over it while Jorah’s alive but Jorah gives him back the sword with these words.
“I brought shame into my house. It broke my father’s heart. I forfeited the right to claim this sword. It’s Yours. May it serve you well. And your CHILDREN after you.”
AAAAAAAAAAAA….. PEOPLE, this scene was priceless. I hope you did hear the STARK THEME playing in the background when they focus on Jon’s expression which is again PRICELESS by the way. Yes, he may think he is a bastard and that he’s not a stark. He may even think what name he could give his children but that JON SNOW secretly does want it was the point of that scene. They could’ve stopped with May it serve you well and it would’ve been just fine. But “AND your children after you.” With Jon looking pensive, then looking at the sword with that sigh and that ridiculously heart-warming Stark music in the background and that BLOODY MUSIC continuing to the scene in Winterfell where *ehem ehem* Sansa and Arya have a little chat. When there was talk of continuity of Jon’s lineage, ‘the Stark Music’ was the one playing in the background and THIS IS IMPORTANT because of the sheer number of times it’s been hinted in this season about Jon’s Targaryen blood.
Winterfell
Really, what was all that worry about Arya and Sansa. Arya comments about Sansa not knowing about the fact that Ned watched when the boys practised because she was inside knitting shows what the show is trying to establish about the way Arya views her sister. Lyanna Mormont said in the first episode that she won’t knit by the fire while the men ride into battle. Arya views Sansa as someone who’d prefer to do that. I think in the end of this very season, Arya will realise why to never underestimate even those who silently knit by the fire. For knitting is a direct reference to the various political threads interwoven by skilful hands, the hands of Sansa Stark.
I loved Arya’s little story about her and Ned. It was beautiful.
“I knew what I was doing was against the rules. But he was smiling ..so .. I knew I wasn’t wrong. The RULES were wrong.”
You can see Sansa smiling till the point she says “Now he’s dead. Killed by the lannisters with your help.”
These words change the tone of the conversation and what happens next is exactly what I expected would happen. Arya only sees in Sansa the girl from the past. She doesn’t know what Sansa has suffered at the hands of her beloved Joffrey, leave alone what Ramsey did to her. They don’t know anything about what the other has become. This is not a story where two sisters who were ‘Stark’ opposites of each other while growing up sit down and talk to each other about the their difficult road back home. I REPEAT. This is not that kind of a story. However, if you look carefully, that is exactly what’s happening too, in a very game of thrones way.
Sansa tells Arya that she was forced to write that letter by the Lannisters. She tells her that Jon actually lost the battle of the bastards and if it hadn’t been for her timely intervention with the knights of the vale, they would not have reclaimed winterfell. Arya tells Sansa that she saw her when Ned was beheaded and that she was in the crowd watching helplessly. She also tells her that she was training in Bravos. THIS IS PROGRESS, in a very game of thrones way.
Did you see the guilt on Arya’s face when Sansa asks her, if she was in the crowd why didn’t she do something about it? I think Arya does understand in that moment that Sansa was as helpless as she was but she’s read that letter and she outrages about Sansa betraying Ned and Robb.
So Arya knows that Jon will not be angry with Sansa even if she shows him the letter or she senses that that’s what Sansa feels. I think Arya got it right when she tells Sansa that she fears the letter reaching the hands of the Northern lords.
BECAUSE THAT SCENE WITH LF AND SANSA gave me all the Jonsa feels in the world. But first doubt no. 1
How in the name of seven hells did the north get 20,000 fighting men when Davos said in Episode 3 that they have fewer than 10000??????
Does this mean that SANSA has managed to amalgamate the forces to this huge number?
Okay back to the scene.
Their Loyalty is to Jon. Jon is not here. I haven’t heard from him in weeks.
Do I sense frustration from not having heard from him?
You are the Lady of Winterfell. The king chose you to rule in his absence. *EHEM EHEM* Note how LF doesn’t talk about she being Jon’s sister anymore. Sansa is actually angry with the Northern Lords about turning their backs on Jon. You can see it in her face. Her MAIN worry is that if the northen lords find out about that letter, JON will have no army left by the time he returns. (DID Anyone else go AWWWWWWW?) Sansa acknowledging that Arya would turn against her if she thought Sansa was going to betray Jon was another Sansa moment of higher understanding. Look how LF asks, Is that what she thinks? Because at this point HE KNOWS, that Sansa will not betray JON. He saw it with his own eyes when he came out of the crypts after being almost choked to death. His language has changed, his tactics has changed. He is no longer attacking the stronger bond between Jon and Sansa. He’s attacking the weaker bond between Sansa and Arya. Or so he thinks!!
I WONT SET FOOT IN KINGS LANDING TILL CERSEI LANNISTER IS QUEEN!! Foreshadowing anyone?? Confident Sansa, as lady of Winterfell just totally rocked that scene.
Again that conversation between Sansa and Arya. The one in which she discovers the bag of faces. Arya tells her she was training in bravos to be a faceless man. Again, Jon is brought into the conversation. Now Arya says something very interesting at this point.
“We both wanted to be other people when we were younger. You wanted to be a queen, to sit next to a handsome young king on the iron throne. I wanted to be a knight. To pick up a sword like father and go off to battle. Neither of us got to be the other person, did we?”
I wonder why this dialogue was inserted, apart from the obvious reason to show who they were and who they’ve become. And the question Arya asks in the end. Neither of us got to be the other person, did we? Well okay Tinfoil: But what if in a weird way, they do after all get to be that other person they’ve always wanted to be. Maybe in a way their respective journeys did prepare them to be a stronger version of who they really wanted to be. Sansa if she marries the king *cough Jon cough* and sits beside him on the iron throne will not just be a queen who wanted to marry a prince and give him beautiful babies. She will be a queen who will be the king’s equal partner in every sense of the term and also a queen people will love. If Arya now rides off to battle with a sword, she’ll be a force to reckon with. Maybe destiny will give them a chance to be that other person they’ve wanted to be, just not in the way they thought it would happen.
When Arya talks about wearing Sansa’s face, being the lady of winterfell, yes it was creepy and Sansa definitely looked scared but I wouldn’t worry about it. Because in the next episode, I’m sure Arya will know what it is to be the Lady of winterfell. Sansa will demonstrate it. Besides, I don’t think Sansa would have ever sent Brienne away, especially after LF advises her to keep her close, if she truly thought Arya would do anything to harm her. She’s more worried about Cersei, as she rightfully should. I’m sorry to disagree with many others but I loved the Sansa and Arya scenes. It showcased the complex relationship the sisters share with each other and how they’re slowly discovering each other. This journey will be complete when they take down a foe together.
Besides, ARYA gave SANSA the dagger. It has to count for something. When it appears like she’s going to use it on Sansa she flips it and hands it to her. What is in the next episode, Sansa does something similar? I think it will happen like that. We might worry and then she’ll flip right at the very end. I’m looking forward to it.
EASTWATCH
Finally, something important happened. Something that was not in the blasted leaks. When the white walker that turns the Wight dies, so do all the wights that go turned by him. This reminded me of The Vampire diaries. When an original dies, so do all the vampires that got turned because of his/her blood. And if we didn’t get this the first time when we saw it happen, a clarification is given in the form of a conversation between Jon and Jorah. Obviously it goes without saying that this is very important to the plot in terms of the battle plans and strategies that they’ll employ in future. TARGET THE WW AND THE WIGHTS WILL PERISH AUTOMATICALLY. Obviously the wights can’t swim. This is established in this episode and also answers by long standing doubt of why they didn’t follow Jon from the water at hardholme.
So…. Water, along with fire is another way to stop them??? Even the NK was not crossing the WATER!!
Dragonstone
Tyrion’s noticed Jon staring at Dani and assumes he’s in love with her. Ummm I don’t know what she meant by ‘he’s too little for me’???? In the sense insignificant?? Or Short?? LOL  Dani’s obviously worried about Jon. Again, if you notice, she’s going all soft when Jon is mentioned. Then when Tyrion starts talking business,
Which war was won without deceit and mass murder?
Aegon Targaryen got quite a long way on fear?
Tyrion actually asks If that’s the queen you want to be how’re you different from the other tyrants that came before you? Umm.. Did they just use that word?? You can see that she’s not really listening to him.
That was not impulsive, that was necessary.
This line about the tarlys coming from her mouth with no ounce of remorse – that was necessary. Again, she accuses Tyrion of taking his family’s side and reminds him of his failures. And then comes the debate about succession, in the same episode where having children is said to Jon. This can’t be a coincidence. Dani not choosing an heir, Jorah wishing Jon and his future children luck with longclaw. It was interesting.
EASTWATCH
Well, Dani goes Dracarys in the north and the screen and I both exploded at once. I did shout “burn them all” though Dani didn’t. It was a beautiful visual extravaganza and I loved every bit of it.
You see what they’re doing here, aren’t you?
Dani wears black in every episode, except when she goes north to “SAVE” Jon and Co. Then she’s wearing a beautiful white furry dress. The black and white theme surrounding Dani’s character is not even subtle anymore. Jon looks up at her in obvious awe and gratitude when she flies above them incinerating everything in her path. We didn’t appreciate it when she burnt the lannister army, we hated it when she burnt Dickon Tarly but we were glad when she burnt the wights.
Again, You see what they’re doing here, aren’t you?
Jon and her have a moment when she’s going to help him onto Drogon but he doesn’t. Again, if you look past the romance, you’ll see that there’s a reason why they don’t want Jon to ride on a dragon yet. It was a clever way to disguise that bit with that love-struck look on both their faces for obviously most people missed that moment when Jon almost did not ride a dragon. It’s too early..
Well, I don’t like the dragons as much as I love the wolves but I did feel bad when Viserion spluttered Dragon blood all over and died. It was sad.
Okay, so now time for observations and some very important questions.
Dragon fire did nothing to the NK. When he walked the fire burnt out to make way for him. I think something similar happened at hardhome when the WW enters the burning house where Jon is searching for Dragon glass. The fire seems to diminish/get extinguished with the presence of the WW. Which can mean only one thing. While Dragon fire can kill the wights, it can do nothing much to the WW and especially not to the NK. FIRE CAN’T KILL ICE. Does this also mean one extreme cannot nullify the other??? There’s got to be another way to kill the night king. Something Bran and Sam and hopefully Gilly are going to discover. I keep repeating, Gilly is going to make some important discovery, other than Prince RAGGER.
What the bloody hell are their Spears made of?? I refuse to believe that it’s just ice!! It killed a BLOODY DRAGON for crying out loud?? Bran Stark has some good amount of figuring out to do!! Will you please grant him some screen time??
The Dragons need ARMOUR to shield themselves from these spears and I think it’s probably going to happen if they’re going to join in the fight. What will the armour be made of?? The obvious choice that come to mind is Vayrian steel. Because we know that Valyrian Steel can stop that spear that the WW’s hold. But if it’s supply is very rare, how are they going to find enough to cover not just one but two dragons??
Did anyone else feel Jon staring at the NK greedily? Did anyone else hear what Beric says? Dani and her Dragons are not the only way to defeat the dead. Kill the Bloody Night King and they’re all gone. Did this remind anyone of that scene in the MUMMY RETURNS when the Army of the dead dies when the “CHOSEN ONE” our dashing Mr. O Connel drives that spear through the scorpion king’s heart killing the entire army with the scorpion king?? Well I did, and I can’t stop thinking about it now.
For the first time, we are presented with an option that is not Dani and her dragons. Jon is convinced that she is their only hope. But Beric presents before Jon and the audience another option. Kill the NK and they all will die. Of course Jon doesn’t really think this is possible. But the dice has been rolled and the seeds have been sown in our minds.
@ EAST-WATCH
Dani obviously is falling for Jon. She’s lost Viserion, yet she waits expectantly, hoping for Jon’s return. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion in the Jonsa fandom but I’m going to say it anyway. I can see that Jon’s falling for Dani too. The boat scene, there was chemistry both ways. Jon looked guilty and smitten. Look at this from Jon’s perspective for a moment. Jon is convinced that Dani is their only hope. She risks her life to save them. She loses her child, her dragon in the process. Then, she vows to fight the NK without asking Jon to bend the knee. He obviously sees her as a saviour. He even sees her as selfless. She’s beautiful and he’s attracted to her. He reciprocates her gesture of fighting alongside the north in this battle against the dead by suggesting that he’d bend the knee. She’s his queen, because she’s the only queen willing to fight for his cause. I’m not saying it’s a good decision. He’s the one who doesn’t let go of her hand when she tries to pull it away. He’s not playing her guys. (Or that;’s what I think ) I am a Jonsa shipper, but I enjoyed this scene. Two people, who don’t know what they actually are to each other, are falling for each other. Dani has obviously noticed Jon’s scars. Will she ask him about it before boatsex?? Will he tell her the truth?? However, everything good about this stops right here. Because Jon says the following words.
They’ll all come to see you, for what you are.
We all will, and so will you Jon. Season 8 is going to be about that Dani, we’ll all see. It’s foreshadowing for sure and you can’t convince me otherwise.  Jon doesn’t know she’s burnt the Tarlys. He doesn’t know how she feels about it. He doesn’t know anything about her past. He doesn’t know what his people will think about her. He’s rushing into this based on his emotions and feelings. Classic case of Hero making bad choices and decisions.  Listen carefully to their supposed romantic music. It’s not a happy one. It’s melancholy and tragic.  As is their relationship. Dani who’s not even willing to name an heir, is going to find out next season that HE not SHE is the rightful heir to the iron throne.
TINFOIL TIME
I should’ve probably kept this for another post, but considering what happened between Jon and Dani in this episode I can’t really keep this out. I think that the way Jon and Sansa’s relationship has been portrayed is the exact opposite of the way Jon and Dani’s relationship has been portrayed.
The viewer does not expect to see anything romantic in Jon and Sansa’s relationship. Yet, the tone of their re-union was set by a love-struck look that a man (Tormund) gives a woman (Brienne). And now that we have other re-unions to compare and contrast it with, we know that Jon and Sansa’s reunion was the most dramatic, the most satisfying. From the first scene onwards, Jon and Sansa seem to be bridging the gap that was between them as children. Jon obviously has told Sansa about his murder and resurrection and Sansa has told Jon about what happened to her. Everything about them from the way they’ve always been  pictured as walking together, their matching costumes, the way they stand and sit beside each other screams, We’re a team - One with the military capabilities and the other with the political savvy. Even though Jon is chosen as King in the north, Sansa is his equal and he acknowledges this fact in season 7 by giving her the north. That they are partners in ruling the north, has always been the tone of their relationship.
Consider, how their relationship develops on screen. We get the unwanted (Or so we thought then) romantic vibes from half siblings who look more like King/Queen or Husband/Wife and we were collectively wondering what the hell was wrong with us, until the cousin reveal happens in that very season, and we were like, “Hey, chances are that there is a great possibility that this is how they’ve wanted us to view it.” They in all probability wanted to make us uncomfortable and then comfort us with the cousin reveal. Plus, Jon almost never initiated physical contact, except for the forehead kiss that seemed to last for decades. LOL!!
Contrast this with the development of Jon and Dani’s relationship. We’re almost through with season 7 and yet none of the characters on the show with the exception of Bran know that Jon is in fact a Targaryen. Which could mean only one thing that for some reason they wanted the audience to know before the characters in the show that Jon is not a Stark. Which is exactly what he says before his meeting with Dani. The audiences are allowed to hold the knowledge that Dani is his Aunt before their first interaction when infact we as an audience are being pushed to see them as a couple. Whatever they learn about each other is very superficial and even in that they have disagreements. In every romantic set up, the audience is not allowed to forget that Jon is a Targaryen and a lot of information is withheld from coming out into the open. Plus, their relationship can never be about being equals. It has a superior - subordinate tone to it. Their romantic scenes are confusing. There’s supposed to be attraction but Dadvos had to really spell it out for us for many couldn’t see it. There’s always something off about their romantic scenes. Every scene had their differences being contrasted. I mean in episode 5, Jon looked so disinterested that I almost wondered how they were going to pick it up from here. Having Jorah turn to look at Dani and not Jon, what did they achieve by that?
So I think basically it comes down to this, though we’re supposed to see Jon and Dani as a couple, we’re not supposed to get attached to this romance. Every time they get closer to each other, we are also supposed to remember that they’re related. Jon and Sansa’s relationship starts out with us thinking they’re half siblings until it is revealed to us that they’re cousins. Jon and Dani’s relationship starts with us knowing that they are Aunt and Nephew and that looms over every scene that they are in.
Even in episode six when Jon calls her Dani and she says that my brother called me that. (side note: Who else thought Jon taking Sansa’s name was sexier..”SANSUH”) Okay sorry shipper goggles off. So while the scene was heart-warming, one did feel like Jon was rushing into this without really thinking this through and that there would definitely be repercussions to his decision.
So while it was nice to see Jon and Dani have that emotional exchange, I don’t see the show trying very hard to get the viewers invested in their romance.
Thoughts for the Finale
Brienne is going to meet Jon in KL. Do you think he’ll be annoyed that she left Sansa to fend for herself??
If the Lady of Winterfell has been invited to Kings Landing, so must all the other Lords and Ladies of other houses. Isn’t now a perfect time to set up Jon as the ideal ruler/leader in front of all other Lords and Ladies if that’s where the story is actually going. Maybe make him do something that sets him apart from both Cersei and Dany and make some sense out of the “LONG WALK” trailer. If Jon, Dani and Cersei are going to be in one scene, “the people’s choice” needs to be set up even if it’s real glory is covered with the bending of the knee part/swearing allegiance part.
Jamie and Brienne are definitely going to meet. Isn’t Brienne going to update Jon on the growing restlessness of his subjects?? I hope so.
Since Sansa has not yet talked about the “LONE WOLF” lines we can now safely assume that it’s happening in the finale.
Castle Black is going to fall, I have a bad feeling. We may lose EDD
Team Stark is going to unite and it will mark the beginning of “A time for the wolves”

Chapter 1: Wirakor
The world for years now has been falling apart, most major cities lost, most nations have been killed off, death is waiting around every corner, the population decreased from 15 billion people to just barely 1 billion. All because of war; the greed, the pride, the politics, the religion, all of it, brought this world down. There wasnt even enough time for a draft, the war only lasted a few months, and in those few months, the world went to shit. Surviving almost doesnt even seem worth it anymore, but I have my reasons of doing so, for now.
This war has also brought on new problems though, they started showing up about 2 years after the war, weve been fighting them for 5 now. No one really knows what they are, we dont know if it was from the chemical warfare or aliens, but we call them Wirakor. The Wirakor, they kill, but they do not feed, one thing we do know, is their victims, dead or alive, can be made into one of them. They expose the brain and throw up this black tar, if the victim is alive, they slowly and painfully lose their minds and turn into one, but if youre dead, you get brought back quickly and painlessly as one, so you better pray that they kill you first. The worst part is, we still havent figured out a way to kill them effectively, so they are multiplying by the day.
Now, me? My name is David Walker, I am 26 years old. I have 2 brothers and a sister, all younger than me, Brandon, James and Julia. My parents were war vets, my mother was combat medic and my father was infantry, they met when she saved his life during the American Canadian War back in 2006. He was honorably discharged and she retired to be with him. I joined the U.S. Army at 18, in 2037, as infantry, year after that, we went to war, the war that brought ruin to mankind. My platoon was deployed in Syria, where the chemical warfare began. We were only deployed a month before everything stopped. 7 years later I am here in Poland, I have no idea about my family, friends, hell I dont even know where half my platoon went. Presumably all dead by now.
The few remaining members in my platoon stuck together and were discovered by a faction, the name of this faction is Ethelinnor, some of my platoon didnt want to join, so they went on their way, but me and 2 others were smart enough to accept their offer. I have been with them for 4 years now. Our leader, Celestine, she can be a real bitch, especially when you first meet her, but she grows on you, she is also pretty hot, long brunette hair and kinda short, but she packs a punch and she is one hell of a leader. I have earned my respect throughout the place, everyone knows who I am, plus I am Celestines go to man.
We are a group of mercenaries that hunt those damned Wirakors. Its a big task to even take out one, since like I said, we have no effective way to take these bastards out. Luckily, we havent gotten into conflict with large groups of them. Each time we go out we bring a minimum 6 people in a group, otherwise you wont survive out there. They are very strong creatures and need lots of manpower to bring them down. Out of my 4 years here I have only ever returned home three times with everyone I left with. People also hire us to do certain tasks, since money isnt really a currency anymore, we do tasks in trade for food and supplies.
My goal though is to return back to Wisconsin and see whats left of my family, if there is anything. My best friend, who was in my platoon, Larry, he is the only one that knows of my plan and he wants to come back with me, he lived in Ohio, and wants to check his place as well. We plan to return, just with family if we find them. We should be able to leave this year, after my supply runs I have been keeping some for myself to make this journey.
*Knock Knock*
“Dave?”
“Come in”
“Dave, I got great news! Check this out”
Its Celestine, she pulled out a map of the area with lines and arrows, I dont even know how she can read it.
“Look, I had a few scouters go out there, and right here, they said that they found what seems to be their hideout. We have put together a big load of explosives. I want you to gather a squad, preferably bigger than what we usually take out, and get rid of this damned nest.” She seemed overly excited about this plan.
“Celeste, are you sure this is going to work? I mean they are already hard enough to..” she cut me off
“Of course! We arent killing them, just getting rid of that nest, hopefully clear this area up a bit more.”
“But Celeste, are you thinking of all the outcomes? This could go horribly wrong and we could lose…” she cut me off again but this time with tears, I have never seen her cry.
“Please David, you have to try. I havent done much in my leadership recently, this will be my chance to prove myself again.”
“Listen, youre more capable of running this faction than anyone else here, nobody thinks youre doing a bad job.”
I had more to say but she jumped to the table grabbed the map, and asked, holding back tears
“So, are you gonna do it or not?”
I had to accept, I have never seen her cry, I nod my head and whisper
“Yes, I will.”
“Thank you Dave” She leaned in and kissed my cheek. She started walking towards my door and turned around,
“By the way, you tell anybody you saw me cry, you wont get anymore than that kiss.” She winked then walked out.
I wasnt expecting that, she had never shown any affection to anybody and never cried. Maybe its her time of month? Anyways, I should start gathering a group. I walk to the main lobby and asked Larry first, I didnt even have to finish what I was saying and he was in. I then got everyones attention.
“All right everybody! I got direct orders from Celestine to go out and do something. I will tell you more once we get out there. We need a bigger group than normal, this is a more serious job, probably the riskiest one yet. Anybody who wants to come, stand up, if not, I will choose who comes.”
Five people stood, I warned them one more time that I need more, and three others stood up. That brought me up to ten people. As I walked out I grabbed Tommys shoulder, and bent down and whispered that he was coming along as well. He didnt seem happy but he is in no position to decline my orders. We suited up and carried the explosives to the cars and were on our way to this nest.
