60 Parsecs! Gameplay
60 Parsecs! is an Atomic Space Age adventure of scavenge and survival. Keep your crew alive and ready for action. Make difficult choices, face soup shortages and other horrors of outer space. And maybe reach your destination. Or not. Atomic Space Age was a blast! Until it became the Post-Apocalyptic Space Age. Your space station is about to explode and you only have 60 seconds before things get messy. What (or who) will you grab before you make a mad dash for the emergency shuttle and begin your journey into THE GREAT UNKNOWN? This is 60 Parsecs!, a dark comedy sci-fi adventure set in the Atomic Space Age - complete with all the Cold War paranoia, chrome-plated wall accents and cockroaches with space helmets. Lead a crew of woefully unprepared astronauts, equipped with whatever junk - sorry - "supplies" you can grab before blasting off, on a journey across the cosmos that's best described as misguided. Make the best of it, while dealing with soup shortages and other horrors of outer space. Will you have what it takes to find a new home and survive? Bon voyage! SCAVENGE & EVACUATE With only 60 seconds before nukes reduce the space station to floating particles in the vacuum of space, frantically grab whatever supplies and crew you can before getting out of there. You never know when that sock puppet will come in handy. SURVIVE & DECIDE Space funerals are inconvenient, so try to avoid dying where possible. Use your limited supplies and (hopefully not limited) wits to make difficult choices and ensure your survival, even though the odds are definitely stacked against you. EXPLORE & CRAFT Duct tape fixes all problems, but how do you fix (or at least craft) duct tape? Chart expeditions to find resources, craft survival essentials and explore strange new worlds in a procedural, very-much-permadeath adventure. LEAD & PROTECT As captain, it's your duty to keep the crew happy - they're less likely to kill you that way. Manage relationships as you watch them grow closer and hopefully not throw each other out the airlock. #60parsecs #60parsecs! Gaming with Bacon Want to see more? Make sure to Subscribe and Like! finished the main story in cassette beasts! some mostly general spoilers below
the main story was REALLY good & fun! delightful & memorable characters, a really neat plot concept with tidy execution. there aren’t endless depths of character content to plumb but it doesn’t feel thin so much as concise writing because the game really does want you to spend time enjoying the actual monster fighting gameplay. and i think it works really well! and like. that said. i think it actually highlights how fun the character writing is, because characters like clee-o and sunny are really memorable and fun despite their relatively few lines. and there are apparently some post game exclusive characters so im looking forward to seeing what else the game has to offer!!
i do have a couple of questions that weren’t answered by the ending (mordread????) BUT i know there’s at least one optional archangel boss you can fight in the postgame so maybe it’ll fill in those holes. the writing is otherwise really tight (as is the writing in lennas inception) so i’ll be surprised if they never get answered but i had such a good fucking time playing this game that i can’t complain if they remain a mystery
MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH THE DOG GOES HOME WITH YOU
anyway aside from the traveling merchant there werent any big direct nods to lennas inception but given the story reveals, it actually means it’s extremely likely that the traveling merchant was ALSO isekai’d directly from the game world. there are characters in harbourtown from explicitly “fictional” universes and the distinction between those things in the context of this universe is functionally null. i think it’s probably safe to say that the “diary” entries in lennas inception that reference cassette beasts were largely retconned, OR they come from a separate universe where cassette beast technology existed on a modern earth. either way the train it describes did in fact turn out to be an archangel lmao! i think the original idea was that legend of lance was developed by inhabitants of the cassette beasts setting but given what we know about new wirral it’s def not some kind of post cataclysm world where this could have happened before the events of the game. considering lennas inception came out 3 years ago i fully expected at least part of this to be retconned but it’s still such a fascinating little entry. what 17th book. what spacetime capsule. why did the mer-line come from outer space. these will probably never be answered bc they’re extremely fringe concerns but there are so many interesting bits of world building between these two games it’s fun to turn over!!
the gameplay is so so fun and the difficulty scaling and custom game options make it extremely accessible. im excited to do a permadeath run. it’s really fun that they give you randomizer options and the option to enter your own seed. realizing the absolute insane power of the sticker based move system partway through the game when “bootlegs have a higher chance of learning rarer versions of stickers” finally clicked. you can absolutely get by just using the moves a monster learns on its own and maybe applying some extras from what you can buy/collect naturally but the true power definitely lies in farming bootlegs for rare stickers. god. this is just a really well designed game!!!

Just finished my first go round in the Halcyon Colony with Cpt. Luna Palomo, Law’s Okayest Shotgun Surgeon. Ignore how she blatantly disregards the Hippocratic Oath. Ironically has no bedside manner or patience. Funny, you’d think the buckshot would help. Still has a good heart down there somewhere past the eternal scowl, she got along swimmingly with Ellie tho.

RP HOOKS ––– –– –
Café Nobilitea: Alus is the proprietor of a western-style teahouse with a distinct theme for elegance, royalty, and other-worldliness - His café is bright, full of flowers, and always playing soft kind-hearted piano music; the type of place a person could become lost in whence they’ve become tired of the grueling and dark outer world; a real heaven and haven. He often spends his free time there and enjoys sitting with his customers to get to know them.
Grand Company Militia: Alus is a very active member with the Eorzean grand companies in fighting against the Garlean empire and any other threats to the peace there might be upon the world. It’s very possible your character might have teamed up with him at some point in active duty.
The Prince on a White Horse: Alus patrols random fields often in order to keep the peace. Your character or someone your character knows might have been saved by the mysterious ‘Prince on a white horse’ while being attacked by bandits or beastmen, who oft leaves without giving his name.
A Fellow Warrior Of Light: Alus has helped out the Scions of the Seventh Dawn on occasion due to his status as a Warrior of Light; one of many.
LOOKING FOR ––– –– –
Long-Term ANYTHING!: Friendships, rivalries, casual familiarities, romances, anything. Alus has lived a long life without any PC RP interactions, and I feel his writing suffers for it. I want someone who will be there for the long run and get to know him. I want stories to develop. I want Alus to grow because of other people.
Open-minded villains!: Alus has the patience of a saint and will befriend the nastiest of criminals no matter what. Alus will stop them from directly committing serious crimes he may be there to witness (murder, kidnapping, robbery, etc.), but will ultimately be very forgiving and calm when dealing with these topics. He wants to genuinely make a connection with people he doesn’t understand and strives his best to soften anybody’s heart, no matter how hard. His ultimate goal is to change their ways for the better through patience and understanding.
Platonic flirts!: Alus has a lot of love to give and happy to give it to nearly everyone and anyone. He throws around the words ‘I love you’ quite easily, and if he is especially crushing on someone, he will hold their hands and hug them openly despite his normal dislike of physical touch. He is most happy when he has a large circle of queerplatonic relationships, but will be absolutely exclusive to their ‘steady’ when he has made that romantic commitment.
Distant family members!: Alus knows very little of the Beauregards; his adoptive father and surnamesake did not speak of them much. Alus is fascinated with Elezen culture and considers himself one of them. He would be incredibly happy to find anyone with the same last name who would welcome him to his adopted ancestor’s information.
ADVENTURE!: Once in awhile, let’s RP somewhere other than a unmoving place. Let’s RP in a dungeon. Let’s RP while doing gold saucer chores. Let’s RP while talking to random minor NPCs. Let’s RP while doing something other than just sitting! It can help a lot with improvisation and keep the creative juices flowing.
ABOUT THE MUN ––– –– –
Who I am: Hey, my name’s Will. I’m a 24 y/o prep cook living in Alaska. My family’s straight-up wiccan, I got 3 black cats, I love super flashy ridiculous fashion, 1980s comedies, and my favorite game’s Bayonetta. I’m a queer Aquarius with mild ADHD. Buddhism and pacifism are super important to me. I love the McElroys?? and uh. I yell in caps a lot. i WILL make you a playlist of music if you ask for recommendations, don’t fuckin tempt me. I’m a casual goofus fuck. here’s my ‘me’ tag on my personal,
Server: Balmung, Crystal Data Center
Time Zone: Alaska (GMT-8)
Availability: 11AM-2AM (subject to change)
Writing Style: Rapidfire! 95WPM. I like to RP just like I type normally - as thoughts pop up, I type ‘em, just like if I was talking. I’m not a big fan of waiting for turns; I have an anxiety disorder and that particularly makes me extremely anxious! However, I am happy to do short paragraph RP with you if we’ve been RPing long enough. Huge paragraph RP is 100% OK on Discord!
Platforms: In-game(preferred) or Discord.
Restrictions ––– –– –
No ERP!
No Permadeath! I really do not want to RP with anyone who intends to eventually kill off their character, either. This is a legitimate trigger for me.
RP Fighting...? I’ve never done this before. I’m not a fan of physical injury so it’s unlikely I would want to, either. But if the situation really calls for it, I’m open to learning. I will not allow you to permanently disfigure or disable my character - temporary injury is alright, but please talk to me about it first.
Mature Themes...? This is okay for me. Swearing, murder, prostitution, drugs.. I’m an adult! I don’t mind these themes being mentioned or being used as a backdrop to a prompt. Alus isn’t a fan of these things though! So just keep that in mind.
Sexual Assault...? For the most part, NO. However, a forceful kiss? An inappropriate touching that stops as soon as my character says no? Maybe. Ask me beforehand and be clear about what you’re thinking, no surprises.

The Outer Worlds' Hardest Difficulty Will Have Permadeath, Survival Elements, and More

The Outer Worlds' Hardest Difficulty Will Have Permadeath, Survival Elements, and More
Tumblr media
Last Edited: August 2, 2019 at 7:29 PM
There are 4 difficulty options in The Outer Worlds. This portion of the guides explains each of them. You can adjust your difficulty at any point, but if you select the game’s hardest difficulty – supernova – there are some exceptions.
Tumblr media
The Outer Worlds Difficulty Options[edit]
Story: In story Mode, enemies have less health and do less damage. Use this mode if you enjoy story more than combat
Normal: Standard enemy health and damage. This is recommended for your first play session.
Hard: Enemies have more health and do more damage. This mode is for extra challenge.
Supernova: This the hardest difficulty. It’s recommended for advanced players. It can only be selected at the start of the game. See below for details. If you change your mind midgame you can drop the difficulty down but cannot raise it back to Supernova after that.
Story mode is the game’s easiest difficulty and is meant for new players or those who just want to enjoy the story.
Normal difficulty provides a standard experience and is recommended for first play sessions.
Those who are experienced with games of this genre and are looking for more of a challenge may want to select this difficulty. Enemies have more health and do more damage but otherwise, everything is the same.
Supernova[edit]
Supernova is the hardest difficulty option in The Outer Worlds.
You can only select this difficulty option at the start of the game.
If you reduce the difficulty below supernova you cannot re-enable it.
Enemies have more health and deal more damange.
You must eat, drink and sleep to survive.
Companions can die permanently.
Crippled body and limb conditions can only be healed with bed rest.
Weapons and armor work very poorly at zero durability
You can only fast travel to your ship.
You can only sleep inside.
You can only manually save inside your ship and autosaves are limited, compared to the other difficulty options.

someone in the live chat just said, “it’s fallout 5!”
....wait, is this minecraft 2?

minecraft dungeons looks fun, but i’m only just now getting back into og minecraft and i prefer its pacing and the ability for housebuilding so i think i’m sticking with that.

xbox game pass ultimate puts them all together at no additional cost, so thats cool.
if you start today, it’s one dollar, extremely impressive.
wait so this is actually a game?  i thought they were just bsing it and showing real world footage for something.
the only flight simulator i will play is the one at the local historical museum, sorry.
everyone in the live chat is too distracted by that song that was playing during the montage, the one that was like “are you game game game, are you game game game,” except it was easy to mishear “game” as “gay” so they’re taking that and running.
this is exactly what i imagined colorado to be like.
is this fallout colorado?
oh its wasteland 3.  so i was pretty close.
matt booty?  HMMMMMMM
no one is listening to mr. booty, they’re just cheering his name.
well double fine productions has finally sold out.  well, i mean they sold out a while back, but now its literal.

tim schafer is one of those rare humans that has never changed physically, he looks the same as he did ten years ago.
they are indeed showing psychonauts 2, did any of yall get your backing rewards yet?
why are they pushing loboto so much?  did the fans really care about him so much back in 2005?
MORE STAR WARS?
ITS STAR WARS LEGO YAAAS
over 9000?
thats literally all i know about dragonball, is that theres a guy and his power level is over 9000.

wait is that dave fennoy?
wrestling superstars to play the new game mode?  que?
the terminator is just casually in gears of war.  okay.
car game.  great.
oh wait no, i was bamboozled, its a controller commercial.  for their new controller that looks a heck of a lot like the steam controller.  HMMMMMMM
people are still begging for keanu to come back.
never played the first dying light, but that sequel looks spiffy
oh, HERE is the car game.  complete with a random car just chillin on stage.
WAIT ITS LEGO AND THEYRE PLAYING EVERYTHING IS AWESOME, YOU NOW HAVE MY ATTENTION
and the random car just chillin on stage is made of lego, so i’ll take it back thats astounding.
.....but i just wanna kick that lego car’s door and watch it fall apart, i’m chaotic evil apparently.
funko pop, oh i can tune out then.
state of decay 2, i will not trust these devs after the moonrise fiasco so piss off with this game.
sega?
what is this, where is sonic?
phantasy star online 2, k
who tf is smilegate?
what tf is crossfire x?
(i took a break here but i don’t think i missed anything that i would’ve cared about)
oh borderlands, woooow.  another anticipated title brought low with epic games anti-hype.
but it had claptrap and leg gun in the same scene so that makes it good.
look claptrap is the only part of borderlands that i like so lets move on.
miyazaki and rr martin???
let me give you a hand.  i’m not even apologizing for that joke.
some in the chat pointed out there’s not been gameplay so far in this conference, and thats interesting.
anyway elden rings or whatever.
is this it?  no halo or banjo?
oh new gaming console, optimized for gaming....didn’t they just release a new xbox?
developers taking about we totally get gamers, we are going to get rid of loading screen because no one is patient.
i know i sound bitter but do understand, i am totally interested right now with the specs and the construction and all that, tis related to my major so yeah.
scarlett?  what a weird name for a console, but i genuinely hope that’s not just a placeholder i want a console with a human name.
next console is project jeff.
people in live chat are already confirming skyrim for the scarlett.
xbox is 18 years old?
also HALO NOW.  and its releasing with the scarlett.
plot twist: this is the master chief without his suit, just a dumpy white guy.
he aged ten years in five minutes, are we sure this isnt death stranding?
CHIEF
guys i found a master chief, he was sitting outside my window and he looked sad, like no one had fed him or anything in a long time, can i keep him?
yo i am hyped okay, i was big on halo when i was an obnoxious teen, my friends used to do halo 2 parties and i’d try to keep up.
and i guess that’s the end of the conference.  good selection of games, interested in that project scarlett, and all in all okay with it all.
still no banjo.  :-/

GamesBeat’s top 10 games of the year for 2019
The entire GamesBeat crew got together to pick the top 10 best games of 2019. You can hear that discussion for yourself in a special episode of the GamesBeat Decides podcast right here:
Download here
Subscribe to the RSS
Listen on Anchor.fm
Find past episodes here
But if you don’t have 2 hours to listen to us jabber, here are our top 10 best games of 2019. Oh, and check out our look back at the decade and the games that defined it as well.
10. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
youtube
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the latest action adventure from developer From Software. It follows in the tradition of From’s beloved Dark Souls, but it has a sword-combat system that is even more intense and demanding.
9. Teamfight Tactics
youtube
Auto Chess was a breakout new genre in 2019 thanks to a Steam Workshop mod for Dota 2. But Riot’s Teamfight Tactics was the big winner thanks to the huge number of League of Legends players finding the cooperative tactical experience in League’s launcher. Teamfight Tactics has players building up an army of units with the goal of developing synergies to outlast enemies. The battles then play out automatically. It’s easy to learn and difficult to master.
8. Disco Elysium
youtube
Disco Elysium is a classic-style role-playing game, which is a way of saying that it looks and feels like something you would have played on a computer 20ish years ago. It’s on this list, however, because of its sharp writing and intricate world building as well as its smart systems that all turn every action into a skill check that reveals deeper truths about the characters and its world.
7. Luigi’s Mansion 3
youtube
Nintendo Switch has already had a ton of top-tier releases, and Luigi’s Mansion 3 deserves a place among those games. It isn’t relentless or action-packed, but it is pleasant and good at what it’s trying to do. As in previous Luigi’s Mansion games, Mario’s younger brother has a vacuum, and Hoovering up objects is consistently fun and satisfying. And the game amplifies all of those interactions with some of the most expressive animations you’ll ever see.
6. Total War: Three Kingdoms
youtube
Total War: Three Kingdoms takes Creative Assembly’s real-time battle simulator to a familiar Chinese setting, where it excels. The skirmish gameplay is the best it has ever been with hero characters that keep things interesting. And then Creative Assembly ties the missions together with an overarching strategy layer that is nearly as good.
5. Outer Wilds
Above: Art for the planet Giant’s Deep in Outer Wilds.
Outer Wilds is a physics playground that re-creates a multi-planet solar system that runs on a 22-minute loop that almost always ends in tragedy. It is not, however, merely a playground. Instead, its worlds are hiding story threads that, as you begin pulling on them, unravel an ancient mystery that is impressive and touching. But you won’t solve it by getting better stats or equipment. Instead, the only pickup in Outer Wilds is knowledge. That makes the adventure feel more personal and all the more moving.
4. Slay the Spire
youtube
Slay the Spire is a deck-building role-playing adventure where you try to get as far as possible on a single run. And that may sound unappealing, but developer Mega Crit deftly mixed the various elements to pull out their best aspects. You always want to see what the next card is going to do. And even when you lose, you want to see if you can get further based on what you learned.
3. Apex Legends
Above: Apex Legends is one of the most approachable battle royale shooters yet.
Going into 2019, it was easy to assume that market had no more room for a massive new battle royale shooter. Then publisher Electronic Arts and Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment surprise launched Apex Legends in February. Like other battle royales, this is a last-team standing shootout, but it mixes up the formula with hero characters similar to Overwatch or Rainbow Six: Siege. That, on top of the excellent mobility of the characters, made many players choose Apex Legends over Fortnite or PUBG.
2. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
youtube
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the best Star Wars games ever and one of the 2019’s true standouts. It weaves aspects of games like Metroid Prime, Dark Souls, and Uncharted together with solid Star Wars characters and stories. And the result is a cohesive and compelling adventure that is entertaining from its opening moments through to its climactic end.
1. Fire Emblem: Three Houses — Game of the Year
Above: Fire Emblem: Three Houses features a mystical girl named Sothis.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is GamesBeat’s Game of the Year.
Nintendo’s long-running tactical role-playing series won over the GamesBeat team with charming characters and storytelling as well as solid tactical gameplay puzzles. As the name implies, the game is about three houses that run various countries or kingdoms across a cramped continent.
Players can choose to lead the students of one of the three houses as their professor. And that decision makes every action and choice feel more meaningful in the game. One player may do something that ends up hurting or even killing a character that is core to the experience of other players. And it also ensures that the story is deep and complex with multiple perspectives on every conflict. If you want, you can even replay the campaign multiple times to get all of those various points of view.
And then developer Intelligent Systems did a lot to improve the strategy combat. While Three Houses’ normal mode is a touch too easy, playing on hard is challenging and rewarding. And even when it gets too difficult, Three Houses introduces a limited rewind feature. This enables you to learn a level or experiment without having to deal with too harsh a punishment. It acknowledge how people play these games: often with permadeath on but also restarting battles the second a character died.
This made it easier than ever to sink 60 hours-to-90 hours into the game and build a connection to its wonderful characters.

Coming Soon To Xbox Game Pass: Dead By Daylight, Metal Gear Survive, And More
More games coming to Xbox Game Pass in May and June. See the list of titles and the dates they’ll be added below and check out our Xbox Game Pass Instagram and Twitter accounts. Also, be sure to check out our Xbox Game Pass mobile app so you can discover and download new games immediately when they become available.
Metal Gear Survive (May 23)
Create your own character and learn to survive in a strange, alternate Metal Gear universe. Experience the enduring stealth action gameplay of the series, with new elements of exploration and survival. Scavenge resources, craft weapons, build a base camp, and explore the unknown while developing the skills necessary to survive in this hostile environment. Then, in co-op mode, assemble a team of four players to infiltrate and defend areas from hordes of creatures. Place fortifications and strategically place weapons against ever intensifying enemies. Teamwork and resourcefulness are key in these fast-paced co-op missions.
The Banner Saga (May 23)
Pile on your pelts, you’re joining a Viking story where you’re fighting to prevent the world’s end. You not only lead and level up members of your caravan, but you risk their permadeath, and even outright mutiny. Your decisions in combat as well as the journey will affect your personal story, because it’s written by your actions. It’s a recipe to care a lot about your characters, dig deep into Viking ethos, and try to beat the odds. Decide if you’re going to be a benevolent leader of the banner or be one that looks out for only your own.
Void Bastards (May 29)
A revolutionary new strategy-shooter that will test your wits as well as exercise your aim. Can you lead the misfit prisoners of the Void Ark through the derelict spaceships and myriad dangers of the Sargasso Nebula? Will you make the right choices about what to do, where to go and when to fight? Master combat, manage ship controls, scavenge supplies, craft improvised tools and much more!
Dead by Daylight (May 30)
Death is not an escape. Dead by Daylight is a 4 vs 1 multiplayer horror game, where one player takes on the role of the savage killer, and the other four players are survivors, who must escape the killer without getting caught.  That sounds easier than it is, because the Killing Ground environment changes every time you play.
Outer Wilds (May 30)
Explore for the sake of your curiosity with a hand-crafted solar system filled with secrets to discover and perils to avoid while exploring space. Players are given a variety of tools to aid in space-backpacking: including their own spaceship and jetpack; a surveyor probe for scouting and taking pictures; and a signalscope to track down audio signals as well as view landmarks from afar.
Full Metal Furies (June 6)
Defend the free world to save a war-torn world that is battling itself to extinction. Through working as a team to defeat special enemies, you’ll need to string organics combos that will deal massive damage to your enemies. Choose your hero, develop your combat style, and learn special moves that could save the world.
The Banner Saga 2 (June 6)
Continue the Banner Saga! The addition of new classes, as well as the new Horseborn race, give players more choices in the story and in combat. Since the game is story-driven, players will find that their decisions outside of battle affect combat conditions more often in The Banner Saga 2. If you played the first game, you can use your save file to carry your choices over so your favorite members of your Banner will be there.
Superhot (June 6)
Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, SUPERHOT is the FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.

Cyberpunk Dungeon Crawler Conglomerate 451 Revealed by 1C Entertainment
The post Cyberpunk Dungeon Crawler Conglomerate 451 Revealed by 1C Entertainment appeared first on Fextralife.
The developer RuneHeads known for their action-RPG Fall of Light reveal today that they are teaming up with 1C Entertainment for their next tile Conglomerate 451. A cyberpunk styled first person dungeon crawler with features similar to XCOM games.
Cyberpunk Dungeon Crawler Conglomerate 451 Revealed by 1C Entertainment
Conglomerate 451 is set in the year 2099, where sector 451 has turned into a warzone. Players will be in charge of a team of cloned policing agents that can be kitted out with a range of weapons, implants and cyberlimbs which ultimately change the playstyle of the character. You will need to unlock or find new enhancements while gaining the upper hand with their very own R&D Department. The title also sets to bring some challenge with permadeath and procedural generated levels that draws inspiration from the likes of the XCOM series.
However in Conglomerate 451 players will engage combat with VATS type system, similar to the Fallout franchise, being able to aim at different body parts to take out the weak points in their enemies or disengage them. Enemies will also have this ability to target agents’ limbs causing horrific injuries that can turn into negative status modifiers which may in turn effect future missions. Another feature is hacking, allowing players to gain the upper hand early on in the dungeon.
Conglomerate 451 stands to bring some interesting elements to table, hopefully the hacking feature will be something that needs to be earned otherwise it might not make the game feel as challenging.

Conglomerate 451 sets to release on Steam Early Access soon according to the trailer.
