𝓨ou're blind by the beauty around
You're numb by the touch
And you're deaf to the sound
Of the sweet-smelling
Bright MELODY OF THE MOONLIGHT
That devours the BARS IN THE TWILIGHT

I was at my friend's place yesterday and she asked me to choose the music, so I looked through her CDs and found Pink Floyd's Meddle, which I then put on of course. Later, when Echoes was playing, her dad came into her room to chat with us and he asked if that was Pink Floyd playing and I said yeah, we talked about how good Meddle was a little. Then he said that he loved The Piper at the Gates of Dawn out of all their albums and I was surprised but really happy because it's one of my favourite albums too, so far none of the people I've met who knew Pink Floyd knew or liked their early stuff (except for my mom, she said that she preferred Syd Barrett's era over their later works), they mostly knew PF because of The Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall... I'm slowly getting my friends into more of their music and explaining the band history to them though, so that's good

Pink Floyd, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, August 5 1967. Photo by Vic Singh. Vic made his iconic Pink Floyd cover with a lens that George Harrison gave him. Singh was a very good friend of Pattie Boyd, who was George Harrison’s wife at the time. One day, after Vic, Pattie and George ate all together, Harrison gave Singh a lens with the prism special effect you can see in the photo. Some time later, Pink Floyd’s manager asked him to make The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’s cover. He thought this kind of picture was perfect for the album’s sound, so he used the lens to capture the four members of the band.
