Nothing is funnier to me than the idea of Ballas selling the tenno out (and by extension, the orokin and humanity) to the sentients just because he was getting pissy about how the orokin treated him. Which I guess really does explain his "speeches" during the new war. Man has the moral fiber of waterlogged cardboard

so you know how at the end of a quest you get the little title card at the end with a snapshot of a Moment surrounding the story? like - following the sacrifice - you get your operator and umbra set to smiles from juran, which is the emotional lynchpin of the quest. after duviri, you get a remarkably hopeful and heartwarming shot of teshin with his rabbit - and the vocals and pizzicato are similarly so lighthearted and tranquil in contrast with the bulk of duviri's tone - it's a bit of earned respite!

whispers in the wall gives us this really nicely framed shot of loid and the vessels from the climax of the quest - and, like, someone confirm or correct (there was a lot of "ohhhh!!!! WHOA !!!" happening on my end i did NOT get a good listen), but isn't the accompanying track what you're hearing during the final boss fight? it's such a heavy-hitting note to leave off on and i love that - instead of resolution, like you feel for the above two examples, it feels more like we're just getting started with something. no neat sense of closure or respite here! and it ties SO incredibly well with the notion that the origin system is still very much in danger - but, for now, we've managed to beat it back. love as the antithesis to indifference. compassion as the weapon we have at our disposal, and it is going to be put to the test, but for this, it was enough, and we just have to hope it will always be enough

i was killing Vomvalysts and switched to operator and was so confused when I saw someone helping me?? only to fiND OUT IT WAS HIM??/ HE CAN MOVE??? i mean i shouldnt be so surprised given the quest BUT THAT MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL OH MY GOD what a reveal!!!!!

i was just farming at night on the plains and i find out umbra is there and he was helping and and and

Excalibur Umbra thinks he made peace with himself when he let the Tenno guide his hand the moment when they freed him from his pain.

Did he screamed in vain when the Tenno who saved him as their last moments being stabbed untriumphantly by their heart at the hands who murdered his beloved son so long ago?

Did he felt the helplessness and the heart torn anguish creeping back to haunt him as he watched the light leaving the Operator's eyes and it burns their way to his twisted mangled veins?

Did he howled an agonizing cry until his own vocal cords shred themselves when the Operator's lifeless body floating away out of his reach as it's swallowed by the Void leaving him all alone by himself?

The burning memory brands itself again on another victim into his fractured mind, another one he couldn't save the one that saved him.

Not even as a Dax, not even as a father, now not even as a warframe. He could only kill and let die.

He failed again
