How do people headcanon the Gavinners as sounding? I feel like their actual sound is clearly implied to be hard rock.
Like, are the one direction comparisons actually serious or are they just making fun of how wild the Gavinners fandom could be?
Ive always seen more of like a 00s FoB and PatD take. I think a lot of this is maybe from lack of exposure to the different ways rock can sound, but ultimately the gimicky, leather pants and chains look the Gavinners have come back to it implying its a much harder sound than anything on Infinity on High.
Like both song examples I posted a few days ago are technically considered Classic Metal but I always thought those bands were regular ol' Classic Rock ™️
If I had to pick a modern band to liken them to I'd probably pick The Struts if anything.

My first car was this glorious tiny truck that was my age. It was broken in so many ways. The driver side lock was busted, so it would lock but literally anything would unlock it. I kept a pocket knife in my purse because I could unlock it with that if I accidentally locked my keys inside.
One day at a gas station I locked both my keys and my purse inside. I walked over to a complete stranger and was like "Excuse me, I'm so sorry to bother you, but would you like to see a magic trick? I need a key, any key at all" and this dude actually lent me a key and I blew on it, told him this key was magic now, and then unlocked my car with it. Gave him his key back and drove away.
I remembered that guy yesterday and wondered if he thought I was on drugs or something.

I feel like almost every yandere hazbin hotel character has the capacity to do this but uh
ALASTOR AND ROSIE DEFINITELY FORCE YOUR ASS TO LEARN HOW TO SING
Rosie will (somewhat) reign Alastor in from being TOO mean to you but, will he still make you cry a lil bit during your forced vocal lessons with his smart remarks? Absolutely! It's just such adorable and charming entertainment for him when your voice cracks and your lips wobble and Rosie gives him a playful shove to "stop being such a bully" and he joyfully remarks that you're just a sensitive soul
Awww, you're embarrassed singing in front of other people? Too bad! They love hearing your lovely voice whether you're perfectly pitched or bawling your eyes out for them to leave you alone! You just sound so wonderful, it's not their fault for wanting to be a little greedy and teach you how to make as many different sounds as possible!

Jack is somehow the most petty, sassy, and cocky talent yet simultaneously the most pathetic little dumbass in existence and I love that about him.

as someone with absolutely TEXTBOOK bipolar disorder (i'm talking cut-and-dry, all-or-nothing episodes of mania and depression that i oscillate between like a metronome) i love comic relief sheogorath so much more than scary, creepy sheogorath.
the way i see it, if you're going to do weird shit with a guy who's supposed to be The Origin Of All Mental Illnesses Ever, the least you can do is make him funny and charming and occasionally shaped like a mischievous little kittycat in a vest. bipolar disorder makes my life hell but it also makes me way funnier than i would be if i was perfectly sane. it gives me a slightly morbid sense of humor, sure, but it lets me laugh more and compels me to find joy and whimsy in everything. crazy people being scary is OUT... crazy people being the life of the fucking party is IN.
^ THIS is what bipolar disorder means to me. i spend enough time brooding and being scary when i'm a depressive episode... as soon as the clock strikes mania i'm already breaking out the cheese-shaped confetti and baking a cake at 2am!!!
