when i was younger i was so toxic aka i didnt think cheating as a celebrity was That Bad like i really could not wrap my 7yo mind around caring. so when i heard my family suddenly shun tiger woods and everything related to him (my great grandfather was a professional golfer and really pushed that into his family) they wouldnt tell me why and all i heard was something to do with his wife from the copious amounts of family guy my parents put on. so instead of scarring my young ears to extramarital affairs, i naturally went to the conclusion he mustve murdered her which struck me as odd because he seemed so mild mannered and even odder because he wasnt in prison but i drew the answer that well, hes a celebrity they dont go to prison for murdering people, taken from other cases i knew of such as matthew broderick. and i legit thought this until like. 15 when i was watching something and they referenced it and i was like ...... that makes more sense. sorry tiger woods also i just googled you and wow you are young sorry buddy. see youre still unmarried we can fix that baby

cass cain is so emotive and I hate that so many of yall fall straight into the stoic asian woman stereotype thing because like, the only reason cass wouldn't vocalize a feeling is when she would struggle to find the word for it because she literally wasn't taught how to speak. that's so fucking upsetting. She has such big beautiful emotions, she feels so deeply about the littlest things but everytime she has trouble putting it into words she's reminded that she was conceived not to. her abuser did not have her feelings or her pain in mind, only how well she could end a life. can you fucking imagine

Fandom Gripe #23: I know that fandom is in some deep denial about its treatment of female characters that are canonically involved with fan favorite m/m ships, but do y’all realize that when you disappear female characters from the narrative wholesale to push the idea that your canonically straight fav was “secretly gay all along!” you’re making several bad implications? That 1) bi men don’t exist, 2) bi men do exist, but those who have genuinely loved a woman before cannot genuinely love a man after that (therefore bi men don’t exist in practice), 3) women cannot inspire genuine love and devotion in men, therefore any relationship with a woman is “lesser” than the one they later have a man (see previous parenthesis), or 4) to acknowledge the existence of a lovable woman who isn’t a terrible person, where if a relationship previously existed, it did not end because of “incompatibility,” is enough to destabilize the present relationship between two queer men?
Because why is the tgcf fandom allergic to acknowledging that He Xuan had a whole ass fiancée that he loved? Why does no one ever seem to remember that the kidnappings and murders of He Xuan’s sister and fiancée were the final straws that sent him on his rampage, and he still keeps a shrine to them in the present-day of the story? Why is her entire existence and significance to He Xuan as a man, character, and to his character arc disappeared in favor of pushing Shi Qingxuan—the brother of the man responsible for his fiancée’s death—into that same role, as if to say that her impact on He Xuan is significant... just not when it's from her? Why does He Xuan’s life in fandom essentially begin not just after her death but because of it?

So I guess ultimately my question is why are we assuming that Nayuta specifically meant “Denji belongs to me definitively, and you are trying to take his attention away from me?”
Aside from the fact that narrative misdirection is a thing and that I think it would completely contradict all the themes of the story thus far to just have her be Makima 2.0 and inherently evil...
We don’t actually know if she and Yoru recognize each other or not? Even on a subconscious level. If she does recognize Yoru (and, reasonably, knows how her powers work) calling Yoru a thief could have meant that “You are trying to steal Denji’s spinal cord to make a weapon” or even “You have stolen this random girl’s body to use for yourself.” (Even if she doesn’t know specifically that Yoru is sharing Asa’s body, she might still be able to tell that something weird is going on?)
She’s still a child, she might have just impulsively said the smallest amount of words that would sort-of convey what she was feeling.
I’m not worried yet.
Yet.

lee sookyung giving up 20 years of her life and trapping kim dokja in a way she knows he will hate her for is such a good parallel for the defining choice she made in the past. years in prison. an essay that will follow kim dokja wherever he goes. a bond permanently damaged. she'll always hurt him in the same ways, because it's the only way she knows how to protect him

so i agree that taylor is extremely white and privileged and there are problems with her far beyond this blanket, general statement that i just made. but the way you all take "you wouldn't last a day in the asylum that they raised me" at face value/extremely literally is.... odd!! it's like listening to "no body no crime" and saying "why would she write that song she didn't actually murder her friend's husband what a liar" as if you've never heard of an artist/singer using extended metaphor/hyperbole in their songs and maybe... making things up? for what they perceive as artistic value in their songs?

Context: So there's this owl house tournament going on and Belos got knocked out the first round
He's such an interesting villain do people really hate him that much
I'd say that it's a good sign that your villain is hated by the fandom, actually - with its exceptions, the fact that people really and truly despise the character that they were supposed to despise shows good writing.
Of course, I would disagree with that loathing, but that's just because my tastes are different. Perhaps if it was a "best character concept," he'd go up higher lol

Not to add to discourse but does the OP of this sentence not think the two things are related?
stupid children on this website blog about how she was killed for being 'asexual.' a blatant lie. she was killed for being a young woman who rejected a man's sexual advances.
Pretty sure ace people are more likely than allo people to reject sexual advances, so therefore her asexuality was most likely related, no?
