Hello everyone and hope you’re all having a good start to your week! It’s Monday and it’s book haul time once again 😜 Who Is Maud Dixon is a paperback I preordered as I was intrigued by the synopsis. Florence Darrow is a small town striver who believes she is destined to be a celebrated writer. When she has the opportunity to become an assistant to a famous but anonymous novelist she jumps at the chance. Helen can be prickly but filled with wisdom on writing and living. She invites Florence on a research trip to Morocco. Then Florence wakes up in hospital after a terrible accident which leaves Helen dead. Florence begins to dream about “upgrading,” to Helen’s life, or that of her pseudonym, Maud Dixon. I’ve heard so many good things about Me Talk Pretty One Day but my sister in law pushed it into my hands, begging me to read it. How could I refuse? The title essay describes David’s experiences to learn French with a sadistic teacher who declares every day spent with you is like having a Caesarean section. You Can’t Kill The Rooster is a portrait of his brother who talks incessant hip-hop slang to his bewildered father. Sounds hilarious! 😂 Finally, my lovely sister @chrissireads bought me The Beautiful Ones as she thought it seemed a very “me” book. It’s described as a charming tale of love and betrayal, and the struggle between conformity and passion, set in a world where scandal is a razor-sharp weapon. This phrase, I've been throwing around for a couple of years now.

Energy is vibration n Movements, seen and Unseen.

Wen U vibrate, especially higher, there r unwritten rules that come w the Job.

Firstly, U gotta learn to shut up n, do wat U R told n trust the process.

Secondly.

U gotta learn to talk so those who have no clue what U r rambling on about, can not only hear U,but lissen to understand. Just cuz ur readi doesn't mean They r. Its a delicate dance. And all dance here. Wen we rnt busy floating 😏🎈

That takes a Tact and Grace that get rock polished by time.

3rdly...and dear God this the hardest one.

Being still.

The urge to fix things and help it happen is ....overwhelmingly strong.

Often by our impatience, We make it so much worse.

These lessons we r made to learn.... r NEVER presented Politely.

Often Its rude, harsh and beats the brakes off u-

U down ur core until u come up better.

It is the hardest, most brutal, experience U will ever face.

It will show up ready to work, showing up 2 you as

Pain. Loss. Valuable Things u held as trophies, lost to the Ether, never to be returned. Faith tests.

Loneliness.

The worst betrayals U have ever experienced.

U will want for death, cuz U think that wud be kinder.

All of these things are a stripping away of ur layers to have u emerging in ur best, most clearest, form.

U are awarded Gifts, Love and Guidance from hidden Angel's.

All to protect and prepare U for ur next phases.

What often looks like destruction....Is our dimond,metal-u-r-made of moments.

U can sink or swim.

Stand and B or wallow.

Who u r, at ur shiny best, comes through.

For some it's 5 days of head crunching, Heart Stabbing work. Clearing away Cobwebs and Vermin Pellets dusguised as stagmacy and palpable pains u held onto cuz it felt comfortable.its what u knew to do.

For others, it's a really bad year, losing Everything, ABSOLUTELY, every fortress compound and connection that had kept U safe ur whole life. Gone in instants wo explanations.

Wen those who SUPPOSED to Love u... Were ur Bullies. And their hatred,loathing of U is palpable.

They Been Big, Mad for a long time.

They had never, ever, saw anything as Shiny and Beautiful as U.

Ur mere exsistance confused them,daily.

It can be 3 years being taken away from all U knew and led and Bled to represent even if it was all a facade.2 easily accomplished w no real efforts

Locked in cages, way too small, where Y haf2 reflect on what Left turn, made rightly, got u here.

It cud be 10 years of Grief n pain cuz U,lost Ur best friend and ur compass.

Until u reach out on faith that Someone who loved U,hard once,will still take ur call. They show up running. finding u, they coax ur lungs back to breathing.

And they love u harder than they ever had,this time.

You can finally see n breathe again.

U fall into Ur places, quickly, soon after. Loving Her, Cuz U needed Covalent Bonds- She has always been the one that fit even though U never understood how deeply.

It's an amazing moment wen u realize and really see the problem wasn't U.

The problem is that U were left alone to Ur own devices, to figure it out w a roadmap,guidebook or compass.( GPS hadn't been invented yet.)

With all those obstacles, wen u go through hell, cuz all u ever knew to do was make it through the day ....and ur even shinier.

U kill them.

They hate u,harder.

We r the shiny kind.

We built n glow, different, down here.

We ALWAYS have.

We r cut from cloths, the Anscestors told in stories n whispered voices, ear to ear. CUZ the recipe wud kill the simpler ones.

And yet,here we R.

Emerging, after We had to be reminded, like Dorothy by The Goodest Witch;and Cellie by Sophia and Shug,

"U been Beautiful, this whole time!"

Wars r coming.

Its ok.

Studio Soundtracking 10:00pm EST What's on right now here in my Studio while I'm working on (finishing up) this Painting. #Suede #TheBeautifulOnes The Theme of the show is Celebrities. That is what we were tasked with. I'm at the end of it, my part. There's a lot of work here. My Studio right now is covered with a lot of prettiness. There's a lot of beautiful ones in here all looking at me right now... yikes! and wow!. When Dennis (the gallery curator) told me to get to work a few weeks ago. Well I got to work. I didn't have any back stock paintings sitting on the shelf that would work for this theme. So here we are now. I'm feeling a little haggard and wishing I had another few days, but I know that sometimes you just have to do the work and put it out there and it will do what it will do. I'm pretty happy with them all. All in all I set out to try to do 15 new paintings. I did more. And even managed to knock out a couple of Couture paintings (You got to throw in a couple of weirdo Couture paintings in every show. I learned that from my Fashion designer friends.) Load in is tomorrow at the gallery and then it's back to my commission work. There's no days off when you work for yourself. But man I'm pretty happy with all this new work.

Prince's ART.

FACT: Prince can draw and paint beautifully and amazing. Prince watercolor paints doves and Majesty and Divinity were adopted in 1992 and Majesty appeared in the music video "7" in Mayte's hands and kissing Majesty's head as she flies away. Unfortunately both passed away.

Prince: June 7, 1958 - April 21, 2016

Majesty: January 27, 2017 (a week)

Divinity: Tuesday, February 2, 2021 after 28 years of life.

The Day Doves Cry For Prince:

.... that Majesty and Divinity fell silent after the artist died. They didn’t even sing their mourning song, which would have made sense since it represents optimism during a tragedy.

When Al Roker asked her if she still felt her brother’s presence at Paisley Park, Nelson said, “Oh, definitely. Anytime you look at his clothes or his shoes or you hear a song because sometimes they’ll play music in here. And then, of course, the doves…

“After he passed, they weren’t talking. It didn’t feel the same… So when I first came in [to Paisley Park after Prince’s death], I was like, ‘Where’s the doves? What’s going on?’ [His staff] said, ‘They’re up there. They’re just not talking.’ I said, ‘Well you need to play some Prince music.'”

That ended up working and the doves started talking again, but unfortunately not for very much longer. Divinity and Majesty just couldn’t live without Prince. Neither can we, really.

Divinity and Majesty were credited for the song "Arboretum" on the One Nite Alone Album (2002)
