#there’s just so much to think about with Lisa Frankenstein

Something really poignant about Lisa Frankenstein, to be at least, is the fact that when the creature attacks Janet, it’s not when she’s being rude to her. It’s not when she’s just saying rude things, or beoittling Lisa, or anything. It’s when Janet says that she’s going to admit Lisa.
Because the creature is from the 1830s. And even if he knows about modern culture and inventions, which he sort of seems to?, he’s still FROM the 1830s. And when Janet says the word admitted, he hears the word committed. When Janet says Serenity Manor, he knows that that means an asylum. And he knows what asylums are. They are dangerous places. They are places where you’re stripped of all autonomy. They are places where you send people away to become someone else’s problem, and they normally don’t come back. And so he attacks. He protects Lisa.
And I think that draws a really important comparison between what asylums were, and what mental care is now. Because in a lot of ways, it isn’t much better. There’s still a lot of abuse in the system. There’s still a complete lack of autonomy. There’s still so much ableism and bias within the system. And people are still sent there to get them out of other peoples ways, rather than strictly to help them. And, sure, this movie is set in the 80s, so it’s not exactly modern. I mean, the movie points out that times are different. But with Janet, it almost seems intent on pointing out of similar everything is. Sending Lisa to a psych ward. The diet culture. The “intuitive person” thing. That one line about narcissists needing to be vanquished. And all these things are still a pretty big issue now.
There’s just a lot of comparison. ESPECIALLY a lot of comparison when it comes to disability and madness in these three distinct time periods. And like, it’s obvious that mental health was used as a weapon against people, and especially WOMEN, in the 1830s. But Lisa Frankenstein highlights that in the 80s, it was still a weapon! And that psych ward programs still poses a threat. Theres a comparison between how Janet and Lisa’s dad erase Lisa’s grief and say that she’s “acting out” compared to female hysteria of the creature’s time. There’s also the creature’s reaction to being physically disabled vs Lisa’s, with Patch and everything, but that honestly is another post entirely.
I just think that the discussion of mental health in this film is really important and, frankly, really well done. Especially especially especially through the lens that Lisa is a girl. And Lisa Frankenstein is a movie about GIRLHOOD. And so the movie took the extra step to talk about the denial of women’s feelings and specifically grief, and the pathologization of them. When women feel in a way outside of a norm, they’re wrong. They’re crazy. They’re dangerous. And idk I just think it’s done really well and the comparisons are all right there.
And this is all in a movie based on Frankenstein. This is all about a character based on Victor Frankenstein. The MAD scientist. So I feel like it all fits together incredibly well.

i finally watched 'lisa frankenstein'
boy oh boy am i normal about this movie
SPOILERS AHEAD
-
-
-
-
creature (played by cole sprouse) looks so beautifully pathetic the whole time, and seeing him slowly 'come back to life' was wonderful
CS really nailed the sheer devotion and pining, especially near the end (graveyard scene)
the weird girl finally gets a love interest that doesnt change her!!!!!! she stays weird!!!!!!!! the weird goth girl i used to be is cheering
"i mean, you don't need one of those to be a man. it's like the least important part." i have MANY feelings about this quote. first off, the whole quote illustrates that penetration/a penis is not necessary for sex (including "straight" sex). secondly, TBOY CREATURE!!!!!!! hes so trans i love him so much
goth wife gets her undead trans husband a phalloplasty
the tanning bed being used to bring creature back, and being what kills lisa?? INCREDIBLE.
the parts of people that they killed having previously been used to hurt lisa (janet not listening, doug sexually assaulting lisa, michael Being A Dick) being used to comfort and love her once they belonged to the creature? literally magnificent
'beloved wife' written on lisa's headstone? screaming
this is just a slasher from the slasher's pov (but she thinks shes in a romcom)
tl;dr, i love this movie. i love that the weird little goth girls finally got something for them

Head Over Heels - Prolouge
(The Creature x Reader)
A Lisa Frankenstein (2024) fic
Alright, monster lovers, I’m gonna try something a little more ambitious: an actual fic. Constructive criticism welcome! Please be kind because I have no proof reader and I’m still learning how to write good stories lol. I’m also gonna be fleshing out some characters to better fit the narrative I have in mind for this story. I hope you enjoy the prologue!
Warnings: slight language, my best attempt at worldbuilding, and our gender neutral reader is an orphan, so discussion of that. Also, (N/N) stands for nickname!
~~~
1986, Brookview, Indiana
“Oh. My. GOODNESS, (Y/N)! You have to try a face mask! It’ll help you with those dark circles under your eyes!”
“But (Y/NNNN), pink is totally your color! Just give it a chance, your nails would look SO pretty!”
“You didn’t even jump! It’s like you’re built for these movies, (N/N)!”
Comments like these had already gotten old around- you checked your watch- two hours ago. You considered yourself a survivor of some ancient teenage girl ceremony. Saying polite “no thank you”s to Taffy and the rest of her much too perky friends was becoming quite the laborious task. Some may say you were being too stubborn, as they had treated you with nothing but kindness since you came to town, to which you’d argue that Tricia certainly seemed like she had a bone to pick with you. Along with her, you had unfortunately seen enough of the world to understand one of the most important rules of high school:
The popular girls were mean, and these girls were certainly popular.
You had no idea why Taffy had run up to you on your first day of school and excitedly introduced herself, her gaggle of friends confusedly following after her. You figured this was some kind of territorial power move, checking out the fresh meat before inevitably deciding to kill.
But then Taffy kept hanging out with you. And complementing you. And begging you to hang out with her group of gals.
You took it as some kind of elaborate bit, but hey, they were nice.
At least they didn’t look at you like you were a rotten corpse walking down the halls.
Your thoughts snapped back to your current situation at Taffy’s house. Her mother, Janet, had actually sneered at you when you walked in, but other than that, the night was shaping up to be your average “new girls first sleepover”. Grease had taught you well. That was, until the truth or dare game started.
Lori had brought it up, and it started pretty normal.
“Who’s your crush?”
“OMG, I’m not telling!”
“Come on, Misty! We won’t tell! Right, (Y/N)?”
“Uh, yeah. I mean, no.” You mentally cursed yourself.
This is how it continued for a while before you finally perked up.
“I dare you to go to the Bachelors Cemetary Grove.”
“WHAT??? No way, Tricia! There’s no way in hell-“
Your eyes widened in intrigue and you blurted out without thinking, “There’s a bachelors cemetery?”
The girls turned to look at you.
Tricia raised one of her perfect eyebrows.
“You haven’t heard about it? It’s like- uber haunted.”
That piqued your interest. Life in the foster care system had caused you to grow accustomed to the darker sides of life, and you had always had a special interest in the dead. Your own parents had died in a mysterious fire when you were just a baby, leaving you with no real memories of them. You believed that everyone deserved to be remembered, especially the average, unremarkable person.
(Mainly because you knew that’s how you would turn out, and you’d like to be remembered.)
Enough of that, though, because everyone is still looking at you, so you cleared your throat.
“Would I have to go tonight? Or like, right now?”
Tricia rolled her eyes. “I mean, I didn’t ask you-“
“Oh, shush, Tricia! She’s participating!” Taffy smiled widely at you.
Tricia shot you a look.
“Fine. Yes, tonight. And you’d have to bring back a vine to show that you actually went there. The place is full of them, so it should be easy for you.”
You detected a hint of challenge in Tricia’s tone, but ignored it. You wanted to do this to quench the thirst of curiosity that was bubbling in your brain. This seemed like the first interesting thing you had heard about in this boring town.
You stood.
“I’ll do it.”
Taffy cheered and Lori looked at you in amazement. Misty immediately began to try to talk you out of it, worrying about your safety, while Tricia went silent.
Your mind was set, though. Time to see what all the hooplah was about.
~~~
The walk to the gravesite had been much more peaceful than you thought it would be.
Taffy’s house was constant noise, light, color, total overstimulation. However, the cool mist that danced across your skin along with the eerie silence of the woods soothed you. It helped you clear your head.
After walking through the woods for what seemed like hours, you finally came across the old rusted iron gate that sadly displayed the text, “Bachelors Cemetery Grove”. You frowned, finding the disrepair of the cite pitiful. This place should be filled with respect, not to be forgotten by vines and leaves.
Speaking of, holy shit, Tricia was right about the vines everywhere.
Thick, bright green foliage covered every inch of the area, graves poking out here and there to display faded names. It was enchanting to see so much life growing in a place of death. You could have snapped off a vine and booked it out of there, but you were drawn to this cemetery. Careful steps led you deeper and deeper into its heart as you swerved this way and that to try and make out the occasional name.
Then, through a beam of moonlight that shone through a break in the trees, your eyes caught on a specific grave.
You walked closer and came face to face with the stoic expression of a handsome young man, carved in the same stone his grave was made of. He had a strong nose, with beautifully curved lips and hair that flipped upwards on the ends. He was looking slightly downwards, his eyebrows painfully curved upwards, as if to express a dramatic feeling of grief. Resting beside his bust was an arm and a hand, attached to nothing and slightly curled. He looked like a man that would recite beautiful poetry, professing his deepest desires and most intimate thoughts.
Your mouth was slightly agape as you admired him. Despite your more logical thoughts, you brought a hand up to gently caress his cheek, finding a raised texture chiseled there that suggested sideburns. A sigh escaped your lips as you realized the romantic-ness of it all. A man who seemed perfect, a lover, full of life and emotion, condemned to a permanent fixture in a buried world.
You could say it was love at first sight.

I'd definitely love one shot requests
Well, ask and you shall receive! Here's the answer to your earlier ask, a Reverse AU of Lisa Frankenstein where she's the creature! Hope you like it!
🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦
“Alright, I think this is everything.”
He could barely see where he was going over the stolen sewing supplies piled in his arms, but he knew he was headed in the right direction thanks to the soft hum of acknowledgement coming from inside his bedroom. Tottering his way over to the corner, he deposited all of his mom’s supplies onto his bed before selecting the thickest hot pink thread he could find and a sharpened upholstery needle and turning to face his guest.
“What about this one?”
The corpse of the young lady stood there, hair still a little wet from her first-ever shower and completely entranced by the feathered sleeves of his mother’s flowy pink nightgown. He stood there for a moment and watched the dead girl wave her arms slowly back and forth to watch the sheer fabric of the sleeves follow in their wake, and took a moment to wonder just when his life took a turn into Mary Shelley territory.
He had been totally scared out of his wits earlier; all he had wanted was a night alone on the couch while his brother, mom and stepdad went to a movie, able to start re-watching through his VHS collection without fear of judgment when a absolutely filthy being crashed through the window, stumbling after him and groaning as he tried and failed to flee. After finding the creature-who he quickly realized was, or at least once had been, a woman-sitting apologetically in the living room and looking at him with sad eyes, he decided that he might get further talking to her than running from her.
And any reservations against connecting with the woman died away when he realized that she was the one whose grave he had been tending to for the past few months, the reanimated corpse of a person buried under a tombstone that only said “Unmarried”.
And so he helped her get cleaned up, letting her shower the nearly century of grime away until he could see slightly bloodshot eyes, a shy smile, frizzy hair teased and tangled within an inch of his life and with a deep and disturbing gash in her left shoulder that needed attention.
Hence the sewing supplies.
“I have no idea which of this stuff is…quality or whatever, but my mom has very high standards in terms of the things she buys and especially for her hobbies, I mean, you should have seen how much she spent on fake rhinestones last year, but I think this might be the best stuff to use? I don’t think neon existed in your time but I think you might like this color judging on how much you like that robe.”
The corpse looked up at his voice, locked eyes with the thread and immediately smiled, excited by the vibrant color and opening her mouth to speak, but upon remembering that decay had taken that ability, she began gesturing wildly, clapping and pointing at the thread and then to her butchered shoulder. He got the message quickly enough and cleared the rest of the sewing supplies off of his bed, sitting down by his pillow and gesturing for her to sit on his left. She complied, and he gently guided their torsos so that he was looking at her back, with her turned towards the door to allow him access.
He unraveled much more thread than necessary and stared at the eye of the needle, completely lost. She must have noticed his hesitance, because she silently reached a hand back and made a ‘give me’ gesture. He placed the needle and thread in her freezing palm and watched over her shoulder as thin fingers-clumsy with a century of deterioration-threaded the string through the eye of the needle and tied it for him, handing it back to him with a small smile. He returned the gesture.
“Thanks.”
She bowed her head slightly, and lowered the shoulder of the robe and the nightgown underneath, brushing her wayward hair out of the way to expose the gash that he presumed had killed her. He didn’t want to dwell too much on it, head already spinning with the implications of such a wound, so he gently rested his hand on the robe, the threaded needle poised in the other hand.
It was only then that he realized that he had no idea what he was doing.
“Uh..how do I…?”
The corpse’s shoulders shook like she was giggling, and she turned her head to lock eyes with him. Slowly, with the stump of one hand and the fingers of the other, she mimed stabbing something with a needle, then pulling the thread through, then the nice, even stitching and repetition of the motion, and then finally pulling the stitches tight and tying off the work, complete with biting the thread to cut it. He nodded, taking the offered needle and thread.
Okay then, let’s…let’s do this.”
She nodded and turned back towards the door, letting him work in peace. It took him a few moments to prepare himself for what he was about to do, and, as gently as he could, stuck the needle in her skin.
He flinched and expected her to do the same, but she sat perfectly still, examining the feathers on the robe a bit more.
“Did that hurt?”
His voice was edged with concern, but when she turned her head to look at him, her eyes were gentle and calm. She shook her head minutely.
“Do you feel…anything?”
She thought for a moment, gaze wandering away from his before she shrugged, settling back with her face to the door to signal the end of the discussion. He took a moment to absorb this new knowledge, then let out a shaky exhale and turned back to his work.
“Okay then. Here we go. I;m sorry if this comes out…totally terrible but you have to understand I’ve never done anything like this before but I am far from a trained professional.”
The corpse hummed her assent and continued to play with her sleeves, and he could see the smallest corner of a smile playing on her gaunt lips. He tried to ignore what that sight did to his heart and got to work, slowly stitching together the corpse who had quite literally crashed into his life and correctly guessing it would not be the last time he did so.

I watched Lisa Frankenstein today with some of my friends and OH MY GOURD.
When I saw a promotional poster in my local theatre two weeks ago, I was intrigued. When I saw the trailer during the pre-show for Night Swim that same day, I was persuaded. But when I saw Diablo Cody and Zelda Williams on a poster while leaving the theatre, I knew I had to watch it.
And it did not disappoint.
That movie was so good! It was so much fun. The dialogue was fantastic, the humour was well timed and well written, the set design was beautiful, and the general aesthetics of the film were downright gorgeous. I also loved the character dynamics, especially between Lisa and Taff.
I was truly shocked to find that it’s kind of a flop. The critic reviews are so low, which doesn’t surprise me, although it does disappoint me. Especially seeing people call these characters one dimensional and stereotypical. I completely disagree; and I think the way that Taff loved, supported, and stuck up for Lisa right from the beginning was proof of that. She was more than her peppy, popular cheerleader archetype, she was a person and a character of her own.
The lack of love for this movie is crazy! I genuinely enjoyed that movie so much, and I feel an oncoming fixation.
My friend described it as slasher meets romcom and that feels like a decently accurate representation of the vibes. It’s lighter on the horror and heavier on the humour, but it’s absolutely charming.
It’s a great watch, one of the best times I’ve had seeing something in theatres in a while.
And I mean, the poster art is just the cherry on top! It’s gorgeous, and it captures the vibes of the movie perfectly. Huge props to whoever made these posters, I love them and would love to have one for my room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve seen many call the film “uneven,” or “disjointed,” criticizing its pacing. I understand why some people may dislike it, as it’s an uncommon path of plot progression, but I found it to be very enjoyable. I think that the unusual pacing of the film only made it stand out more.
All around, I really loved this movie. If you liked Heathers, Jennifer’s Body, Beetlejuice, or any other campy cult classics, I highly recommend it. I can definitely see Lisa Frankenstein becoming a cult classic itself in a few years.
I apologize if this post is a bit all over the place, I have a lot of thoughts about this film. And a lot of love for it too. I just had to talk about it, because I cannot get this movie out of my head! I think it’s quickly becoming a favourite, and I know I’m going to have to watch it again.

Spoilers about Argylle movie, be warned.
I'm just obssesing about those two so much. And I'm just love when Aidan said
Tumblr media
"when I tell you the second I saw you on that train...that's been toughest part...."
"what has?"
"pretending not to love you, kid."
Because it was too OBVIOUS, not for Elli, I suppose, but for the people who watching it...because in every fighting moment, he flirted with her and tried to look as cool as ever. And after the train scene, he shaved and cut his hair! He's just so in love!
If you know some books with the same trope - lost memory, partner tries to you remember them and your history with them, and just remember your past! Let me know!
I guess, Lisa Frankenstein and Argylle are my top movies so far, can't stop thinking about them!

Lisa Frankenstein Theories (spoilers kinda)
@lifelessstar
Tumblr media
I'm making this a post because my response is way to long. This is gonna be all over the place but bear with me I have a lot of thoughts
I really like your theory about the shirts, and I do agree that Lisa probably does have resentment towards her father for the situation but personally I think the resentment is more in the context of hating him for not being there when it happened, for remarrying so fast, for moving her away from her home and school, for neglecting her emotionally and not supporting her, for favoring his new step daughter over her while she's dealing with all of this, etc. I don't think its to imply that the actual murder itself is his fault or that he did it but rather Lisa's inability to move on is his fault. I do think the clothing is a very very important part of this film but in a slightly different way. In the scene where we see the killer, he's wearing a very dark sweater with some light patches, which I feel like just match the aesthetic of the bride of Frankenstein mask. Overall, his outfit is very dark and moody which is a harsh contrast from Lisa and her mom in this scene. We see them wearing very bright, light, colorful clothing which goes hand in hand with how we see Lisa being happy and playful and laughing and talking with her mom. Lisa obviously was much more healthy and well adjusted and had a much easier time connecting with people before this happened. In the rest of the movie, we see the dad, Taffy, Janet, and most of the town dressed in very bright and colorful, for lack of a better term "normal" clothing. As well as the entire house is ridiculously colorful and bright, bordering on a Lisa Frank sticker pack.
I think this bright colorful aesthetic all around her and her dad being a part of it is symbolism for how they want Lisa to be a happy, bubbly, regular girl and completely move on and forget her trauma. She isn't given any opportunity to process her trauma, talk about it, feel it, etc. She's expected to get over it and go back to being completely normal. I think this is why she's drawn to Michael Trent, him and his friend (the other goth girl who's name I forgot) are the only people in the town who aren't phased by her differences and he shows some interest even in her weird dark moodiness. Throughout the movie, we obviously see Lisa's style choices become darker and moodier, creeping closer and closer to the aesthetic of the killer rather than the family and the town. One detail I really love is how the Creature actually encourages her to wear the darker outfits and absolutely adores every aspect of her, dark or light. I think Lisa's change in aesthetic is to show how not being able to process her trauma cause her to internalize it and become it. The clothing is a part of her becoming the axe murder. I think a big theme of this movie is that when trauma and abuse aren't processed it turns into a cycle instead. I've seen a lot of people say that we see Lisa become herself when she meets the Creature and starts dressing and acting differently, and in a way I think she does, but not her old self like everyone wants her to be. It's too late for her to ever get back there. Like she says "time is the thing that takes you further away from the place where you were happy". The opportunity to heal properly was taken from her. But she is able to find a new self and that new self is built out of her trauma. The Creature sees her for her, wounds and broken bits included and loves every part of her and listens to her and doesn't try to stop her from being dark and crazy he just lets her exist and absolutely adores her and so much of their love story, for me, revolves around him being the one person who lets her just exist and doesn't expect anything from her. This part might be a little bit of a reach but I think the name of the movie and the wax rubbing she does on the grave is another symbol of this whole thing. The name is a play on "Lisa Frank", representing the bright colorful neon vibe that they want her to be a part of but it ends with "enstein", almost mocking the first part like "she's Lisa Frank...enstein." She'll never be what they expect of her because there's this trauma following her around. In the scene, you can even see the two parts of the name are separated and she's adding on the enstein part to hint at this in a foreshadowing way.
Tumblr media
I feel like I explained all this terribly but long story short Lisa dark and moody because she is trauma/axe murder now, town and house and family bright and colorful because they're SO normal and want her to be normal like them, dad bright and colorful because he is part of problem
so shirt colors = dad bad but for.. other reasons???

jjk spoilers under the cut !!
i just think yuuta is definitely helpless, but not as much as everyone seems to think
he never learned how to properly knot a tie, his relationship with his father had turned distant after the accident with rika. he could have looked up videos or even asked gojo, but what would be the point?
sure it would look a little weird and he’d give himself away as ignorant to more than a few people. but, it was truly hard to put the effort in to care even a little.
then toge was looking at him with those lovely violet eyes, teasingly raising an eyebrow at the sad mess around his neck.
it only took yuuta to smile helplessly for toge to huff a silent laugh and come close enough for his scent of lavender and sweet lily to tickle his nose.
nimble hands undo the mess, and in less than a moment, tug a perfect tie under his chin. patting his chest with a note of satisfaction and crescents in his eyes.
it took his breath away.
so, no one could really blame him for… playing it up a little.
kind of like a school girl trying to get attention, he didn’t exactly lie, but he did maybe emphasize his struggles a little.
so.
maybe he mentioned not understanding how to use a smart phone just to see his nimble fingers mischievously changing contact names. maybe he stared at the kitchen as lost as possible until toge was sitting on the counter and guiding him through how much spice to use. maybe he struggled a little too openly on controlling cursed speech just to see toge pull the scarf from his own face and hear his voice.
he wasn’t exactly proud of himself for it, but he figures anyone would be weak if they could see the way toge would blink his long eyelashes and lovely eyes at him. ever so attentive, ever so understanding to his struggles.
in that manner, he also doesn’t notice that toge slowly becoming aware.
there’s only so much someone can insist they need help seasoning cabbage. but still, it’s hard to reconcile that someone like yuuta would want to spend that much time with him.
he’s used to his presence being a dirty secret, a useful foot soldier, a reliable front-runner, the sacrificial pawn if it comes down to it.
useful in battle, unwanted in their society.
so to have someone as kind and devoted as yuuta, insist he needs someone to physically correct his signing, to turn bright red when toge gently moves his hands, to look simultaneously guilty and pleased to have his hands linger.
as if his time, as if his touch, was worth something more. as if he were something to steal away and monopolize for the world. as if toge was someone to want attention from.
when yuuta leaves, toge finds himself waiting to hear a knock on his door, waiting to hear a wavering voice call for his attention.
it doesn’t come.
even when yuuta comes back, it’s not entirely the same.
yuuta has only gotten more confident with time, no longer feels as if he needs inane excuses to ask toge to be with him. even going as far to trap his legs by crossing his own around them, smiling so pleasantly as if he wasn’t holding him captive.
it’s nice, it flusters toge, and he couldn’t be happier that yuuta has finally found his voice. but he also misses the pathetically endearing boy from only a year ago. he misses toge’s own ability to act as a dependable figure.
but, yuuta never seemed to bother to learn how to knot his tie.
toge struggles to do it again, only one arm to properly move and frustrated tears beading in his eyes.
but yuuta acts as his second arm, seamlessly moving under toge’s own touch, staring at him with eyes warm like honey, not looking away for a second from his face.
when it’s done, it’s not as perfect as only a year ago. but yuuta admires it as if a work of art.
“it’s perfect,” he says, even if it’s anything but, and presses his lips to toge’s forehead as if this little act was enough.
as if he was enough.
anyway, i just watched lisa frankenstein so please expect a post about inuokko au very soon because i am so entirely not sane about them crying on my hands and knees

OMG YOU WATCHED LISA FRANKENSTIEN AND LOVED IT?! <33
I've been waiting for that especially since you've posted Gomez and Morticia (The goal of all goals) on your blog! It's an odd request but I still read and love your Set Up series so can we get a crossover with YN as Lisa Swallow's and the boys as The Creature? ( Cole Sprouse lowkey reminds me of young Skeet Ulrich which considering Riverdale it's no wonder)
Wait cause no this is such a good idea I cannot pass it up I got so much work to do but I REALLY wanna write for this! (I got so many request I'm trying to do in my inbox but uh...This is my current hyperfixation srry)
I wish I could draw better to make zombies of them fhjaafg ♡♡♡ If anyone wants to add onto this or request other characters please do (And anyone seeing this; watch Lisa Frankenstein I loved it)
🔪 Scream / Lisa Frankenstein Crossover 🧟‍♂️

🪦 Randy Meeks: Died 1998
♡ You loved his character in Stab. After you did some deep diving studying who the actual Randy was outside of the movie; you found his tombstone. (who would do this? Me and @f1nalboys Might do what Lisa did and write your name over his etched name *Meeks* on a piece of paper. Bc of course YN Meeks just has a nice ring to it)
♡ Heard you venting about life and fell in love in his restless but lucid slumber 6ft underground. Someone actually likes his character for more than comic relief? Someone understood him? They didn't think he was just the geek?
♡ After a terrible lightning storm...Guess who fumbled and broke through your window drenched in mud and decay?
♡ Is a little hurt you aren't head over heels for him in his current state. He accidentally cried even if his pride hates that he quite literally cried his own eyes out. He's used to not getting who he wants and...Well, he may not smell himself with his nostrils rotted out but considering his eye popped out; still attached to the retina and had to be pushed back in while you're covering your nose gagging; he understands even if it hurts.
♡ Takes a shower (I'd use Dawn. Bar soap or Dove ain't gonna cut it.) and wears your clothes or robe. He still smells like a dead body and has worms but he's trying. He's got a LOT of old stab wounds from dying in that van at Windsor...Holes...Things seep out so you might wanna get tape or something idk.
♡ Do not stress this undead man out if you mischaracterize a film; he cannot talk with a missing tongue to argue; it decayed decades ago.
♡ His dead, dull eyes actually have some spark of life to them when he sees streaming for the first time. So many movies he's missed out on! Give him the remote and you never gotta worry about him leaving your room while you're gone.
♡ He accidentally kills someone you definitely did not want killed after they smelled something awful in your room, went up there, screamed, Randy went to knock them out in a panic and accidentally kills them
♡ He feels awful about it and you both decide to hide the body and use their hand to replace his missing one (Fell off lol just dead things) and shock him back to circulation somehow
♡ If you do what Lisa did and let him do...Other things with a 'back massager'. He's so madly in love and yearning for you it's insane. But if you got a crush you're yearning for; he is rolling his eyes with a grunt at this being Sid and Billy or Sid and Derek allllll over again.
♡ Less corpsey he gets with each shock session; more he can't help his feelings for you. YOU have to be the one to admit your feelings to him though because what would you want with an undead geek like him? At least in his mind.
♡ Would cry his eyes out (Not literally this time) if you were killed and 100% would resurrect your body and take care of you like you did him
♡ Is as loyal as they come. Will worship you accepting him at his geekiest, dead, grossest versions of himself and you're still here
🪦 Stu Macher: Died 1996
♡ You found his tombstone as a dare to 'bring him back' like bloody mary....No duh, it didn't work. But Stu was still aware of it in a dream like state sorta way. You didn't believe in that stuff rolling your eyes at people badgering you on where you lived.
♡ A car hits a power line and the line of electricity zaps his grave and he goes home just to see...Holy shit, you own his house!
♡ He thinks he's still the playboy man slut he was in life that can get anyone he wants so he's really offended you aren't wanting him to kiss you. Why!? Cause he has worms and his lips are a little dry from sinking into rot, he's a little bit dirty with body fluid stained clothes and he smells like a dead body? Picky!
♡ Is even more offended you're gagging and covering your nose demanding he bathe. Begrudgingly takes your dumb shower and your entire tub smells like dead bird and covered in dirt.
♡ When he comes out you see his face is very scarred under all that mud he had on him. Maybe the rumor he died via a tv crashing on his head and shocking him was true?
♡ If you piss him off...Well he can't kill you cause he needs you. But he WILL hack up a worm like a hairball just to gross you out out of pure pettiness.
♡ Just steals your clothes without asking. Lounging in your best clothes that can fit while he's leaking fluids. If not, he's stealing some guys clothes in your home. Catch him lounging in your Dad/Step Dad/Brothers/Friends best fit.
♡ Tries to steal your bed till you yell at him to get in the closet before someone sees. He guards your clothes and forces you to wear the sluttiest sexiest clothes you have...What? He's helping!
♡ He is soooooooo elated they made Stab! A whole movie with him portrayed in it by a good looking actor? He is over the moon watching it on repeat.
♡ Gets lonely easily...And bored! He's sighing to himself when you're gone and thinking how Billy is dead now and all the people he once knew, knew him as a murderer and were in their 40's. In fact, don't leave him alone long; its disastrous.
♡ Not able to yap HURTS HIM. Expect a lot of hand gestures and getting him a note pad to write on because he can't handle this
♡ Kills someone after you have an issue with them not even second guessing it. What? Problem solved! AND he gets a new body part to replace the one that rotted. Win win.
♡ He is very aware and depressed his manhood rotted off decades ago and that's probably the first body part he's going for. Especially a crush/boyfriend of yours. He can handle no ear or hand or even a tongue but his dick!? No.
♡ Sits in bed painting your nails while you rant about boys. He nods at everything when it comes to guys having their mind on one thing because well...Yeah. Especially in his case
♡ HE is the one smirking if he finds any massager and even if you want a back rub that thing is going lower. Just cause he doesn't have a peen rn doesn't mean his mind isn't in the gutter still
♡ He thinks your a girlfriend of his right away so casually without even asking you so; of course any guy coming near you is dead. Of course he's resurrecting you if you die because...Well he's starting to realize you're the only girl that doesn't scream when you see him so he's gonna hang up his player towel.
♡ Even fully restored he still has scars on his face and feels indebted to you that you don't care about his murderous ways or his face now. He takes care of you if you're dead and the roles reverse...Hell, he finds it hot you need him now.
Billy Loomis: Died 1996
♡ You were a bit odd yourself and found yourself studying the murders. Feeling conflicted about Billy because yeah he was an awful incel but researching his background you felt a bit bad he felt so alone and abandoned even with people around him. You clean off vandalism on his grave and talk to him for hours.
♡ A storm occurs after you have an awful day and cry to his grave 'I wish I was with you'...You meant dead. But well...
♡ That night lightning hits the grave and you wake up in bed to the god awful smell and his dead dirty face looking down at you. You go to scream and he covers your mouth with a cold clammy hand. Going to talk to you and a centipede falls out his mouth making you scream even louder.
♡ You almost knock his head off before he points to a picture on your desk you took of his grave surrounded by newspaper articles of his death.
♡ He thinks he finally has a person that's not a 'whore, bitch, or poser' in his eyes. A bit in love with you and is bitter you don't exactly want an ex serial killer from the 90's like that...
♡ He almost wants to kill you thinking of the betrayal till he sees his reflection and is completely defeated. Sunken dead eyes, matted dirty hair missing in places, longer haggered dirty nails, skin looking ready to fall off.
♡ He sits in your bathroom and you try to comfort him till you smell what smells like...Sewage and death and embalming fluid and your trying not to throw up.
♡ He takes a shower without being told to. Disgusted by his own rot and grime. His gun shot wound in the middle of his forehead a reminder of his failure almost 3 decades ago...Might have scrambled his brain a bit.
♡ He's a manipulator and user but he's not as...Tactless and spoiled as Stu. He feels grateful you offered him to stay despite the smell and the misunderstanding even if he's not happy sleeping on the floor or closet.
♡ He feels even more defeated when you tell him his Mom died in 1998 at Windsor College trying to avenge his death. He's beside himself over it and honestly just wants to crawl back in his icky coffin and die again.
♡ He wanders your home despite being told not to. Goes through all of your things. The lack of speaking doesn't bother him. Especially when it means he can hear you spill your guts more. He wants to observe everything.
♡ Like Randy he's pleased by the movies on streaming but not as obsessed as he was. Whether that bullet was like a lobotomy or just laying in the ground so long to 'think' in the afterlife; he's not the same guy he was in 96...Not completely. Is annoyed at his portrayal in Stab. His hair never looked like that! (Yes it did)
♡ He does kill someone when they bully or mistreat you. He feels possessive of you already and he just doesn't like assholes. He's the one that decides to steal a body part while you're staring in horror.
♡ He gets shocked and you see him a little less dead and a working body part now. So it becomes a thing for you both but you tell him 'Only those that deserve it' and he shrugs. He ain't following that but okay.
♡ Is pinning over you but hides it well. Enjoying just listening to you or watching you. HATES with a passion when you talk about guys but hides it with grunts and subtle glares.
♡ Is your ride or die when he hears police are investigating you for murder after he was the one killing them. I mean...What will they do? Re-kill him? He will do anything he can especially the more 'alive' he becomes to protect you.
♡ Once he's...Fully equipped he actually refuses to sleep with you. Still thinking 'virgins live, sluts die' like he use to. You have to tell him 'You know Sidney is still alive, right? That rule is dumb and not true.' he may get over it and sleep with you or it might still take time.
♡ He wants to go after Sid but also what's the point now? He's not exactly in tip top shape...Don't even tell him about Sam being rumored to possibly being his daughter by mega Stab fans. His undead brain will stop working.
♡ If you die he will resurrect you not out of convenience and want like Stu or devotion like Randy but more possessive ownership. You're his. Whether that's love or to control you (Both). Not even death will seperate you from him.
♡ Once he's fully recovered he has a migraine till that bullet eventually is pushed out by that one last shock and his body starts bleeding again.
♡ More than happy to be together away from everyone just you and him.
Mickey Alteri: Died 1998
♡ Everyone knows Mickey as the freak that was so obsessed with Stab and the original killers he imitated them. But what they don't realize is he killed even before Nancy found him. He was just wired different and it made him feel alive...How ironic now.
♡ You accidentally stumbled upon his grave after trying to find a different one. And...Why is it empty? Well, you had nothing to do with his resurrection just wrong place wrong time as a corpse is lumbering towards you from behind a tombstone with bullet wounds all over him.
♡ He wanted to snap your neck just to fell something again till his own leg fell off and he face planted on the ground.
♡ You of course didn't know he was trying to kill you. You still tried to get away before you saw him just sitting there and...Sighing? It wasn't a mindless zombie after you? Even worse; he grabbed your keys when you ran.
♡ Ask for them back and like a damn child he shakes his head with grunts. You swear to God you heard 'nuh uh' in his grunt. (Keep his leg away give me the keys or I'm yeeting your leg)
♡ Takes a shower at your house and like Randy all those holes are leaking...Icky stuff. He had more muscle before he died so his body mass shockingly is thinner but not as much as it should be? You're talking to a corpse it doesn't have to make sense. All you know is he just walked around naked and you saw disgusting things on the human body you never wanna know after death. You gotta make him wear clothes!
♡ You're in this awkward situation where...The dead guy has feelings and thoughts and is urging he wants to go home with you. Whether you say yes or no he knows your car and will find you.
♡ Sew his leg back on or give him a funny replacement like a peg leg and tell him deal with it. What are you? A surgeon?
♡ Little did you know the second you came for your keys and talked to him he claimed you as his just for being different than most victims. More eager than Stu, falling even faster than Randy, more obsessive than Billy and POSSIBLY crazier than the og Ghostface's...You're having a corpse that is already planning to make you his (Might even kill you so you have to be with him when he resurrects you like he was.)
♡ Other than killing and movies you're the first thing to make him feel something and he is not letting that go.
♡ Wears your clothes, watches your tv, listens to you talk, plans to kill anyone that fucks with you, watches you when you sleep, dresses you up.
♡ The first kill is a guy interested in you. You are his now! He doesn't hesitate to take a few body parts to have you sew on him. Finds the whole process endearing. He's nuts guys idk. You just gotta drill it in his head not to kill a family member, close friend or pet or you won't forgive him because he cannot have that. He wants your affection and attention so he'll be good when it comes to that.
♡ With each shock he gets more lively and bolder. Dancing with you and ignoring the worm that you don't know where it fell out of. Trying to cuddle you even if you gotta start smearing vicks under your nose. Won't hesitate to kiss all over you once he's not as rotten and tries to think of your pleasure before his.
♡ He never hides his obsession and will let you know with a hand on your throat not to talk about guys around him before lovingly caressing your cheek afterwards as an apology.
♡ If you die, not by him, he is furious and will kill anyone in his path before resurrecting you. He'll take care of you in the most yanadere way. You're his forever now.

things i would have done to improve lisa frankenstein to make myself personally enjoy it better: - the dead guy SHOULD have been a serial killer in life. he is just some normal guy and then he is so ready to just kill people. it would make a lot more sense to me if he was already a killer. it would make also add on to people thinking lisa was an outcast or something was wrong with her, since she is obsessed with the grave of a serial killer. - i would also want her to be much weirder, make her an actual borderline violent person or more morbid and obsessed with the concept of death. i think there should have been more changes to her character that would make it more likely that she was harboring violent thoughts and thought about killing her stepmother because of her treatment of her. then it would have been less surprising that she goes along with her murder, burial, and lying to everyone about it after. i think having her already HAVE some type of killer plans or similar would have been a cool idea, and the monster is there just to push her along that path that she had perviously only fantasized about

Okay I keep seeing posts about that one scene in Lisa Frankenstein where she goes on her "you like cool things but you don't want your girlfriend to like cool things" rant and I didn't think this would be a controversial take. But like. She's wrong in that scene, right?
And I don't mean to be an asshole, I just mean that in that scene she's very much a teenager, and sometimes being a teenager means you're incredibly self centered.
Like don't get it twisted, I'll defend Lisa with my life (and I can argue that Micheal Trent led her on. And I will). But when you examine the actual scene, its Lisa being unable to cope with the reality that Micheal has always liked Taffy more, and that she had kinda been projecting her own feelings on him. (Normal teenage shit).
So she yells, and accuses Micheal of being vapid, and inadvertently claims that Taffy isn't cool/interesting/deep which is a little shitty. But as the audience we're supposed to see that Lisa is the one being childish in this situation. Micheal doesn't owe Lisa reciprocation, nor does Lisa have ownership on being multifaceted. Taffy has her own problems, and they're just as valid as Lisa's, and it just so happened that those problems helped her connect with Michael. And that's shitty, it's the kind of thing that you want to scream about, especially if you're a teenager, but it's not really the offense that Lisa feels like it is.
But I kinda assumed that we all understood that even though Lisa claims that Micheal is the one being shallow, it's actually her (and that's okay) right?

From The Grave - Randy Meeks
The Creature!Randy Meeks x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
WORD COUNT: 1025
WARNINGS: post death randy, the briefest description of corpse randy, mention of roadkill, nothing too graphic tho <3, reader is around randys age when he died but no specifc age is said, inspired by lisa frankenstein <3
His grave was tucked underneath a large willow tree, the branches hanging low and wide, hiding his lone headstone. You discovered it a few months ago on a warm spring afternoon as you carefully made your way through the abandoned graveyard in Woodsboro, stepping over gnarled roots and vines. The headstone was cracked, covered in moss and dirt, but you could just barely make out some of the writing on it as you got closer, your hand swinging by your side as the leaves of the tree shaded you from the sun.
“Randy Meeks. 1978-1997.”
He was young, like you. Alone, too, if the state of his grave was any indication. Despite passing the other graves, all in similar states of disrepair, something about this one stood out to you. Maybe it was the fact you knew nothing of him; other headstones told you that buried deep in the ground was a husband, a wife, a child, but here there was nothing. Or, maybe, it was the fact that he was of similar age to you and was hidden away like you so often felt.
Regardless, you spent the next hour carefully scraping the moss off of the stone with your finger and, when the grime became too hard to simply push off, with your pen. You didn’t have any water or soap and as you stand, wiping your hands off onto your jeans with a pleased smile at the progress, you resolve to come back tomorrow and finish cleaning it up. Sure, no one ever came through here, and the grass was as high as your knees in some parts of the cemetery, and you swore when you turned your back to his grave you could feel someone staring at you, but you were going to finish your job here.
And so you did. The next day, bright and early, you clean up Randy Meeks’s headstone until it sparkles in the sunlight that broke through the gaps of the leaves. But then you come back the next day, and the next, and the next. For weeks, whenever you have the chance to, you make your way through the rusted iron fence and through the thick grass to him.
Always to him.
You eventually wear down a path to his grave, the grass around the headstone itself squashed down from your constant pacing as you talk out loud. Talking helped clear your mind, and despite no response, you felt more seen and understood by him than you ever had before. You sometimes caught yourself pausing after a sentence as if waiting for a response and everytime you swore the wind would pick up and the leaves above you would rustle his answer.
Each time you left the cemetery, you’d write off whatever you felt in the moment and resign yourself back to your lonely existence.
And then the strange storm happened. Dark, green, swirling clouds loomed in the sky above you, but they couldn't deter you. You made your way to the cemetery, rested your head on his gravestone, fingers tracing the etching of his name, and cried. Your whispers came out quick and harsh, cut off with random gulps of air, as you told him how you just wished you and he could be together. How your life was awful, how all you wanted was to be seen and loved and be treated how you knew he would treat you.
You wanted to join him in death since he couldn't join you in life.
There was a crack of thunder, a flash of light, and when your eyes opened you were back home. You shake it off, sure you made your way home on auto-pilot. As you stumble through your routine to get ready for bed, you pause at the sound of a groan outside. Just as you turn your head to investigate, your front window shatters and a foul smell reminiscent of the decomposing fox on the side of the road you pass by everyday wafts in. Your hand covers your mouth and nose to stop from hurling just as he crawls through your window.
After a few laps around your house, you sit across from him in your bedroom, staring at him wearily. “Who are you?” Is the only thing you can think to ask, though it doesn’t result in much. The man keeps grunting, getting increasingly more frustrated at your lack of understanding. He’s caked in mud and god knows what else, his eyes a bright blue. He can’t talk and you can’t understand him, but you swear you know him from somewhere. You run through the list of men you know, name after name, but he shakes his head after each one, his fingers drumming on his bent knee.
Eventually you stand and give him a notebook and a pen, hoping he can write. You watch as he takes it, his eyes focused on the paper in front of him, his tongue poking out from his lips as he concentrates. Finally, he looks up and meets your eye, an intensity in them you hadn't seen before. You take the notebook and look down, gasping quietly as you read the name.
“Randy?” You ask, eyes widening slightly as you look back towards him. He nods. “My Randy? From the graveyard?” Another nod and the closest thing to a smile you’ve seen him make yet. None of it makes sense. You knew that the real Randy Meeks had been dead for years but here he was in front of you. “Could you hear me? When I spoke to you?”
He nods his head once again, reaching his large hand out for yours. You grimace slightly at the feeling of the mud and viscera on his skin but you don't pull away. Instead, you watch with a morbid curiosity as he brings your hand to his undead lips, pressing them against your hand. Your hand tingles, a lightning bolt crawling up your arm.
It was him. He was here for you. Somehow, someway, he clawed his way out of death to find you.
It was the most romantic thing you could think of.

Possible Spoilers
So this should be my last (I may add comments if I rewatch tonight) post about Lisa Frankenstein but I thought I should maybe do a better job at giving my thoughts on it. As someone who lost their mom in a tragic and unexpected way i personally can relate to Lisa a little in that way and i think that’s why i absolutely can’t stand Janet. Lisa went through one of the worst things someone can go through and Janet was just a shitty person about it. And while I don’t think she necessarily deserved what she got, it was a really big case of what goes around comes back around. But when taffy mentioned Janet’s earrings I almost lost it. And then there’s what happened to Doug was pretty much some intense justice. While I obviously don’t condone what they did to him he was obviously on his way to doing some pretty horrific stuff to women and needed to be stopped before he escalated. And then there’s Michael. While I’m glad he tried to be friends with Lisa he ultimately was kinda shitty. He should’ve told Lisa how he felt. I don’t think he deserved what he got though. Then there’s Taffy. Honestly I can forgive her for the whole Michael thing because she really did care about Lisa and tried to be a good sister. And Dale, he’s basically just there. He doesn’t really do or care much about anything. And finally Lisa. I definitely don’t think she’s a good person. Overall it’s a fun romantic horror comedy with characters who are pretty shitty people.

Lisa Frankenstein Review
Really wanted to see this movie because 1) I love the 80s even though I'm not from the 80s, 2) I'm a fan of Kathryn Newton from Supernatural, and 3) love zombie romance (like Warm Bodies).
Overall I thought the movie was ok. I didn't think it was worth going to the theater for (movie tickets cost so much these days plus I take the bus). I think you should wait until it streams and seems like a lot agree because there was only like 5 people in the theater with me and it just came out few days ago.
Cole Spouse's character is my favorite even though he hardly said anything but he was very expressive. I enjoyed the animation in the beginning of the film telling the story of The Creature. It explains why he did what he did.
Warning: Spoilers
The creature knew what it was like falling in love with someone and for that person to not love them back and fall for someone else. When he saw Taffy's car he knew she and Michael were in a relationship and it as going to hurt Lisa like how his past love hurt him. So he took Michael's d*ck because he thought hey I can use this to make Lisa happy when you can't.
Lisa to be was more confusing than the monster. What was the point of having her mother killed by a psycho murderer? Was it to make her desensitized to seeing someone get killed by the creature? It doesn't make sense to me since it only happened once to her. I think it would've been more interesting if she actually did kill her mother and her reaction to seeing people get killed the creature would've made more sense.
One thing I'm disappointed about is that the trailer makes it seem like Lisa was in love with the Creature during the entire movie but really she was in love with Michael. I feel like she started falling for the Creature when she realized how much he loved her. I mean it would've been ok if it didn't feel very sudden.
Also did anyone think the Creature acted too modern? It's not just about him knowing how to drive but he knew about fashion. He's from the Victorian Era, he would've gotten Lisa to put on something that would've covered her ankles not give her black sexy lace outfit.
I hated her step mother but she was right about Lisa being a selfish person. I mean she did go through something traumatic but still she was very self centered. Like when she got mad at Taffy for sleeping with the boy she had a crush on after everything Taffy did for her. I think Taffy would've fought with her mother about putting Lisa in the mental hospital if given the chance. Also Lisa didn't even realize the Creature was in love with her until the very end when she didn't get the man she wanted. She didn't seem to care when the Creature was cried twice (it was the smell of his tears but still). Also she didn't even notice how better looking the creature was getting after he kept getting electrocuted. If she at least said oh you're looking more handsome maybe I can see it has her falling for him.
The last scene was opened ended. I think the Creature killed someone for a tongue so he can speak to Lisa at her grave. She heard him from beyond the grave and decided to come back when lightening stroke her grave (exactly what happened to the Creature in the beginning). So it's his turn to take care of Lisa like she did for him. Another theory is that the Creature became like a mad scientist stealing Lisa's body to electrocute it to bring her back to him. Either way I think they're gonna keep killing and stealing body parts for Lisa because she's the new bride of Frankenstein.
Like I said it's was a fun movie but wait until it's streaming. It actually gave me Totally Killer (from Amazon Video) vibe because that movie was also set in the 80s. Why are new movies set in the 80s? Times are very hard right now (for a while) and people tend to gravitate towards those times when life was simpler and fun. The 80s does look like a lot of fun with all that color and music.
Will it become a cult classic? I have no idea because I don't get why some movies become a cult classic even though they suck.

I know you loved Lisa Frankenstein (for good reason) and idk if you are a horror girlie or not but the movie Abigail just came out and was such a fun movie. Was it scary? Not to me. But it was campy there were certain scenes my jaw dropped because it was just the drama!!! Everyone was amazing at acting!! It's by the same people as Ready or Not and had similar vibes if you watched and liked that. Melissa Barrera (hopefully my phone stops autocorrecting her name) was INCREDIBLE. Kathryn Newton is in it too and this is the second horror/horror adjacent film I've seen her in this year (Lisa Frankenstein being the first) and I now am going to watch her entire filmography
i was actually raving about this on here last friday after i saw it! it’s a very fun horror film, super investing and i wasn’t really expecting to like it but i loved it.
before lisa frankenstein (which still has control of my life—just scored a really cool vinyl of its soundtrack and i’m waiting for a couple more things to come in), i didn’t care too much about kathryn because i mostly watched stuff in which she was a side character—but holy moly did she knock me out with Lisa Swallows and Jessie (Sammy). i am definitely a kathryn newton fan now. her personality out of her roles is pretty endearing too so she seems like an all around good person.
and melissa was VERY good—i love how she portrays these badass women with so much ease—but after THAT scene (i think you know what im talking about) where they had Sammy looking so fucking cool, she stole Joey’s spot as my fav character of the film.
and the miley cyrus memes about it kill me lol

Head Over Heels - Chapter 1
(The Creature x Reader)
A Lisa Frankenstein (2024) fanfic
YOU THOUGHT I WASN’T GONNA POST DIDN’T YA??? Nah I’ve just been doing other things. We’re gonna have ONE more chapter after this one and then… we meeting our boy. Enjoy!
~~~
1989, Brookview, Indiana
As you reapplied your mascara for the fourteen billionth time, you let out a sigh. It was the first semester of your freshman year and Taffy was determined to drag you along with her to your first rager. You had fought her for years when it came to you attending parties. They were your own personalized hell, too much smoke and alcohol and noise, and for the past three years of high school, you had explained this to Taffy. Somehow, for some reason, she had respected your decision and you had successfully avoided them.
On the condition that you would go to one when you were a senior.
Unfortunately for you, you now had to actually fulfill that promise.
Taffy couldn’t be happier about it, though.
You had been struggling with your hair, face, outfit, everything since you’d gotten home from school. It was a Friday, so you couldn’t use the school night excuse on your father.
Even if you tried to, you doubted he would keep you home. These days he seemed exhausted with you, too wrapped up in his own business to care to listen to your silly teenage problems. You thought that he’d be more dad-like these days, his kid going into their senior year, but no. Anytime you complained, he retorted that you should just be more like Taffy. She didn’t have problems! Maybe join the cheer team! He’s sure she’d teach you the ropes!
He didn’t care to know you would rather drop dead then join the cheer team.
Anyways, back to you. Getting ready, yes. You grabbed a jean-jacket littered with patches you had stitched on yourself. You had a job with a local tailor in town and you’d always loved to sew. You considered yourself an artsy person, fascinated with the art of creation. This patched jacket was an especially loved project of yours, a sort of comfort jacket. So, it was coming with you.
After putting it on and glancing at yourself one last time in the mirror, you heard a honk outside your door. Taffy.
You shut off your bathroom radio, currently blaring “Keep On Loving You” by REO Speedwagon, a favorite of yours. You hummed the rest of the song as you zipped around your bathroom, grabbing a shoe here and chapstick there, shoving things in your bag and absentmindedly combing through your hair with your fingers. One final check later and you were speeding through your house, running out of your bathroom, through your room, down the stairs, past the living room, and straight towards the door, grabbing the handle and yanking it open.
You gasped and squinted as you walked out of your house, taken aback. Taffy’s car lights were on and pointed directly at you, completely blinding. As your eyes adjusted, your stomach began to turn as you recognized the cherry red of her car.
There was no going back now.
You saw Taffy in the drivers seat, excitedly smiling and waving at you.
This was gonna be a long night.
~~~
“So… are you hot for anyone?”
Oh my god, Taffy would not shut up.
Yeah, you two had been friends for… forever at this point, but didn’t she know you well enough by now to understand how you worked? You were already going out on a limb here, why did she delight in torturing you? You didn’t talk a lot, you rarely had crushes! Why did she act like you were like everyone one else?
“Taffy, that’s gross.” You replied, groaning.
“It’s not gross! It’s human, (Y/N). There has to be someone at school you think is cute.” She looked at you grinning.
A thought popped into your head. You knew it wasn’t what she wanted to hear, but you couldn’t help yourself.
Your eyes shifted to look out the window. “I mean…”
Taffy gasped. “That wasn’t a no! Details, details!”
You giggled a bit at her enthusiasm. Perky as she was, she was fun.
“There’s… someone who doesn’t go to our school, I guess.”
Taffy nodded aggressively, bouncing in her seat.
Now, you knew very well that you weren’t interested in anyone at school, but you could… stretch the truth a bit. For her sake. Make her think there was still a chance for you.
“We don’t talk much, but… when I see him, he’s sweet.”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHH-“ Taffy let out a high-pitched squeal, causing your eyes to close tightly.
“Can you not?!?” You tried your best to maintain an annoyed expression, but her genuine happiness for you made your smile impossible to hide.
“What school does he go to??” Taffy was glancing back and forth at you and the road.
“He’s homeschooled.”
“Ooh, so he’s like, freakishly smart?”
“Yeah, freakishly.”
“Does he have more of a football bod or a basketball bod?”
“He, um- doesn’t play sports.”
Taffy gave you a look.
“(N/N), I thought I went over this with you. How are you gonna climb the social ladder this year if you only go after geeks?”
You wrapped your arms around yourself defensively.
“He just caught my attention, okay? It’s not like we’re anything serious.”
Taffy sighed and turned up the radio, beginning to hum along to whatever was playing.
You couldn’t hear it, though. All this talk about your bachelor friend had you daydreaming.
What would it be like if he went to Brookview High? Maybe he would actually be your friend. He’d help you with your math homework, eat lunch with you, walk you to class, give you kisses in the hallway…
EEEEKKKK
The car lurched to a halt. You jolted from your dreams, arm hitting the car door.
Damn, you forgot how bad of a driver Taffy was.
“We’re here! Alright, (Y/N), are you ready for your first official senior rager??”
Taffy’s smile was impossibly wide, her eyes shining in the darkness of her car. You could faintly hear the music and noises of the party, whoever’s house you were at ahead of you.
Sitting there in the dark.
Waiting.
You took a breath.
“Okay.”
~~~
Nope nope nope, this was the worst choice you could have possibly made.
You could have thrown yourself into oncoming traffic and you would have been better off than being at this stupid, awkward party.
Standing outside with an unopened bottle of water, you watched as Taffy flawlessly buzzed about. She seemed to somehow know every single person here, to the point where each of them was just so glad she made it! It’s not a party without her! Damn, girl, I’m loving the outfit!
You thought your jacket would have gotten you some complements, at least from the right people, but apparently not.
Even the goth kids were steering clear of you.
Was there a meeting before you got here to make sure no one would talk to you??
You swallowed harshly and began to walk over to one of the random coolers strewn about the lawn. Thankfully, Taffy hadn’t forced you inside the actual house. You were sure the music was even louder, and the bright lights pouring from the glass doors and walls that shone on the pool were much brighter and even more headache inducing inside. Finally getting to a cooler, you realized that you had already been holding an unopened waterbottle.
Mentally rolling your eyes at your own idiotic behavior, you decided to just commit. Yes, it was stupid, and yes, you should just go hide in Taffy’s car for the rest of the night, but you might as well just suck it up at this point.
Who knows? Maybe, just maybe, it would get Taffy off your back for good.
You bent down and opened the cooler, and your hand dove straight into the icy cold water. It was pure instinct, a desire to feel something that wasn’t hot and sweaty and awkward, and it honestly gave you a brief feeling of relief.
You took your original water bottle, now lukewarm, and placed it in the ice water, grabbing a new, much cooler bottle of water.
Suddenly, a deep voice came from behind and above you.
“If you’re looking to fade out, the ethanol’s inside.”
You furrowed your brow in confusion. “What?”, you responded.
“The booze…?” The voice said as you stood up, not yet turning around. “It’s in the house.”
You started to turn, now actually understanding whatever this guy was talking about.
“O-oh, yeah, I think my friend brought most of it-“
Wait-
Your eyes focused in the dark on the figure who was speaking to you. Pretty brown hair and eyes, a slight tan, and a face that you would recognize in an instant.
Why was Micheal Trent talking to you?
