PROMPT: The more unsightly sides to Angels of Fumus.

(warnings: yandere/toxic relationships, physical violence and abuse, suggestive themes.)

. . .

i. knowing what it’s like to be punished for every menial mistake he makes despite desperate efforts to please, Taffy would never purposefully hurt nor degrade his darling if you mess up in any way. this is the same seraph who's stripped of all mercy to go on bloodhunt to kill any demon who threatens the 'peace' of the world his god created – yet he never so much as raises his voice at you. he gets angry with you sometimes when you do something reckless, but he can never bring himself to scold you for it; instantly going into overprotective mother hen mode instead. he'll annihilate anyone who threatens your well-being, even turn that same destruction around onto himself – anything to keep you out of harm's way. he would want to shelter you from everything bad if it were possible.

ii. Yuu has a mild inferiority complex, so to know he means so much to you and you still wanting to mend your relationship despite the hardships surrounding the two of you will inevitably ramp up his obsessive tendencies he might have been suppressing before. he exerts authority over the lower-ranking angels and he'll freely use violence on them if he wants. he can't do anything about his fellow seraphs, but they usually know to steel clear from you. he'll kill anyone else though (doesn't even have to be a demon, he will do it without hesitation). his violence isn't the sadistic kind, it's just a method of solving a problem – he would prefer you didn't find this out, but if you did... he will assert that it was your own good. you'll see.

iii. there is no such thing as ‘good behavior’ or ‘bad behavior’ in the eyes of Lei Hitotose, you aren’t some animal in need of punishment. if something bad were to happen to you, he would just become a hundred times more clingy and overprotective to the point it’s near impossible to get him off your back. he’s more likely to blame an outside influence of your relationship if you lost your head or think about breaking up with him. aside from him religiously going through your underwear drawer and always wanting an eyeful when you're changing out of your uniform without your knowledge, he is a relatively tame type of obsessive lover – and that's really saying something.

iv. Zero Hitotose may be fierce with a hair-trigger temper to match, but that doesn’t mean he enjoys hurting you – he might lose his patience and get a little rough with you, like push you around or yank you along where he wants by your elbow with bruising grip. he can forget his own strength sometimes, but his darling's presence is there to subdue and keep him grounded. he would feel remorseful if he’s genuinely upset you – even when he has a hard time showing emotions that aren't bordering on annoyance or rigidity, he still tries to muster a (half-baked) apology at the very least.

v. you would think his effeminate nature comes in a package of him also being gentle, then you could not be any more wrong – Engetsu is a fierce, passionate lover who's obsessed with you and wants you to share his addiction in fair. whether you weren’t paying him enough attention or if he became exasperated with you for something you did – he drags you to an empty room, ties you down and overstimulates you until you can barely think, tears rolling down your cheeks, and you’re covered in endless amount of hickeys and bruises. a reminder for you not to ever forget whom you belong to.

vi. although it is rare for him to show his more unsightly side, Fiore has no qualms about resorting to emotional manipulation and gaslighting (“you’re just confused, that never happened." "what reason would i have to make something like that up?"), he desperately wants to be needed and relied on, even if it includes making you doubt your own mind and being fed little (in his eyes) harmless lies. he would rather you spend all of your time with him and not any of his comrades or even the trainee angels, just to appease his anxiety about being useful and wanted as a lover.

vii. much like the fourth subordinate, Inga is (a sadist) without mercy on the battlefield with equal amounts of ferocity to match, but unlike the former, these traits would unfortunately carry over to his relationship. he has no problem either inflicting brutal violence onto his darling to get them to behave. when he’s pissed off with you, his anger won’t dissipate until you’re expected to thank him for keeping you safe from either lord fumus’ unstable mood swings or from the blood-thirst of demons. if you still dare to cross a line with him, he may pour boiling hot water into your eyes, or maybe break a bone or two.

viii. Tsurugigozen is often volatile and temperamental, easily succumbed to emotions over rational thinking, no matter how much of a narcissist he is about thinking otherwise. he similarly resorts to physical punishments, but nothing overtly severe, either spanking you over his lap or getting a smack in the face. other times he just threatens to punish you – all the while doing it with a remorseless smile on his expression – you'll quickly come to learn they're more like promises rather than threats. he kind of enjoys the power he has over you, knowing you wouldn’t be able to say anything or leave him.

ix. Youran hardly ever gets angry with you – his heart is delicate when it comes to love and all he wants is to pretend the two of you are living a life of normalcy without the watchful eyes of lord fumus. even the slightest hesitation from you will have him guilt-tripping you by asking, “do you not love me anymore? haven't i been gentle and loving with you always, hon?” with that half-lidded gaze of his. no matter what he actually did to you, his honeyed words are enough to make you second-guess yourself.

x. Aes can’t stand it when you come back severely injured from a mission. it’s the usual occurrence, but at some point he ends up caving to his instincts to keep you away from battle as long as possible. he injects scilliroside (or any kind of strong poisonous substance that isn't easy to heal even with his powers, probably something nicked from the demons’ world) into your veins with a needle while you’re unconscious, which will render you useless to move and immobile for a couple of days. you wouldn’t ever suspect the sweet doe-eyed angel had something to do with sudden sensations of persistent nausea and high fever. he stays with you day and night when he’s available, enjoying the time when you're under his care. he might amputate your legs as a last resort, but makes sure you don't feel any pain during the process.

YESS ABSOLUTELY!!

tragically i’m at work rn and have much to be doing so i can’t go TOO too in depth rn, but i CAN give a quick summary of who he is and what his deal is and then link to some other posts i’ve made that go into more detail . he is my silly guy and i liek him :)

- Seiber Starwalker is a NPC in the dnd campaign i’ve been a part of for the past few years now, Feywild’s Folly! He’s an aasimar priest of Mystara*, Goddess of knowledge, who resides in the port town of Horton, which has been kind of serving as the party’s ’home base’ for the past few story arcs. While the chief deity worshipped in Horton is Njord (a god of the sea is going to be pretty popular in a place where a large amount of the population are sailors or dock workers), the religious district is home to a lot of different altars and tertiary places of worship for a myriad of other “””lesser””” deities

( *very early on in the campaign, every single one of us somehow managed to confuse ‘Mystra’ as ‘Mystara’, and it’s been so long that we’ve just rolled with the change. the entire campaign is homebrew anyway so it’s probably like the most insignificant difference from ‘dnd canon’ LMAO but it can cause confusion so i thought id clarify

- to help give our lovely DM a break here and there and also to better involve us all in the worldbuilding and give us chances to shake things up since this has been a very long and convoluted campaign, each of us players get to come up an additional NPC that we can RP as during the course of the campaign in addition to our actual PCs. seiber is mine! :3

- one of the most significant things about him is that, as a part of his vows to mystara, he cannot willingly say or suggest anything that he knows to be false — basically, he can’t lie, and also if anyone asks him a question he knows the answer to he’s compelled to tell them. this is unfortunate for him because despite being a holy man, he’s also not exactly on the up-and-up legally speaking a lot of the time, but if he ever got caught he would be compelled to confess immediately. also because the party uses this to ask him embarrassing questions that he has no choice but to answer because they find it funny to torment him. which is fair. it’s pretty funny to put him in situations

- mystara has no actual problem with any of his antics. she actively encourages him in most situations. he’s her favorite and she’s motivated by curiosity, so on top of egging him on to get into bar fights and send letter bombs to people (long story), she will occasionally physically compel him to do some impulsive thing to satisfy her curiosity. like putting a raw egg in his mouth or touching a hot stove. he’s capable of resisting her if he sees it coming, but he’s often deep in thought and doesn’t notice what’s happening until it’s already been done. there’s no malice on her end — she simply doesn’t always remember that mundane beings have bodies that can sustain permanent harm. he often has to gently remind her that people die when they are killed.

- on the topic of mystara, she knows Literally Everything which in turn makes her quite forgetful. even a god can’t possibly store all the knowledge in the known universe at once, so she’s in a constant state of forgetting and relearning things. this is why her preferred method of ‘worship’ is for her followers to engage in rhings like researching the world around them or learning new hobbies, and why her favorite offerings are academic papers or textbooks or personal anecdotes — she subsists on knowledge and the act of learning itself is what sustains her

- if you squint you might notice he vaguely resembles a certain erm. video game astrophysicist from a bad team shooter whom i still hold dear to my heart. he was originally meant to be a one-off joke reference character but we all got attached to him very quickly and hes just a part of the campaign now despite being a dollar store sigma ovw. it’s fine im better at writing than blizz will ever be. i’m treating him right.

Do you know anyone who has a hearing deficit? I have mild hearing loss, but it's not bad enough to need hearing aids.

What is the average number of customers that stop by where you work? I'm not working now.

When you are having a bath, do you have the water low, medium, or high? I don't really like baths and it's been years since I last took one. I don't remember what my preferred water level was.

Do you know exactly what a physician is? Would you ever want to be one? Yes of course I know what a physician is haha. I would not want to be one. I think the medical sciences are fascinating, but I would never want any sort of patient-facing role because I'm not a people-person. Working in medical research would be neat, though.

Does your phone have a stopwatch? How often do you use it, and what for? Yes. I don't use it often. I use the timer function much more often.

What is your surname? If you could change it, what would you want it to be? I don't share my surname on here.

Do you know anyone who pronounces 'ketchup' with 'catsup'? Not that I know of.

Speaking of cats, what is your favorite colours for a cat? No favorite.

What are you methods to remind yourself of something important? The TickTick app on my phone, or post-it notes. It depends on what it is that I want to remind myself of.

What are your opinions on fake sugar? Do you use it? Why or why not? Like stevia? I don't use it often. I'd rather just reduce the amount of sugar, than use a sugar substitute with a weird taste.

Would you ever want to study sociology? Why or why not? Not formally, like enrolling in a sociology course at a university. I do love to read about it on my own, though.

If you had to have a porch for your house, what colour would it be? My house already has a porch. It's white.

What makes a person physically beautiful to you? Good fitness, a nice smile, kind eyes.

Would you rather have a hospital become a church, or vice versa? Vice versa. Healthcare is more beneficial to society than religion.

Would you miss winter if it never came back? Why or why not? YES of course. I love winter and snowy weather.

Do you notice a pattern with people who were born as the middle child? I don't know many middle children, but of the ones I do know, I suppose I could suss out some sort of "middle child syndrome" pattern.

Did you ever play around a hydrant when you were younger? No, the neighborhood I grew up in was on the very edge of town and surrounded by woods and marshes, we didn't have the fire hydrant system go out that far. There was a pumping station at the nearby lake, though.

Does bad weather ruin your day? Why or why not? Only if I had plans to do something outside. Hiking, beach day, etc.

What is one thing stopping you from becoming a veterinarian? I'd never want to be a regular dog/cat veterinarian because I don't have much patience for poorly-behaved dogs and their lazy owners who don't bother to train them, plus I'm mildly allergic to cats. I'd much rather be a small animal vet dealing with rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. Or an avian vet because I'm really passionate about birds (I have two of my own). But I still don't think I could handle being an avian vet because of the stressful situations, treating birds that aren't being properly cared for but there's nothing you can do to save them from neglect, and having to deal with euthanasia situations. My heart couldn't handle it.

When you read 'bass' just now, was it read like the fish or the instrument? The instrument.

If you wear them, what is the average length of skirts you wear? Long maxi skirts.

Do you spell it like 'cheque' or 'check'? Also, do you even use them? Check. I use them occasionally.

Character Profiles: The Ghosts

ISBELL CHORBORNE

The creator and leader of the Ghost Broadcast, who takes her responsibilities deadly seriously. Outwardly, her demeanour is welcoming and lively, but this hides a crippling fear of failing to meet her goals and letting down the people she loves. She can go from friendly to threatening in a single breath, and is often reckless in her anger.

MAERYN CHORBORNE

A mechanical expert, sensitive and thoughtful, and as dutiful as her twin sister in her own way. She is very wary about the amount of power Isbell wields, and often reminds her to use it in the most responsible way possible. Quietly, she envies Isbell’s sense of conviction about finding the right path of action. When it comes to resistance, she prefers methods that protect the people around her.

JAK MORCANT

The second child of an influential family, from whom they are largely estranged. Jak is decisive and quick thinking, and impatient to make change happen as soon as possible. They don't tend to trust people's motives very easily, but they care very deeply about improving the lives of the people in their community, and are particularly enraged by anyone they consider to be callous or dishonest.

ROSANA BRIDPORT

A local barmaid who doesn't often talk about her past. Whilst she is charming and witty in public, she only ever truly relaxes amongst her friends, with whom she is much more blunt and decisive. Her plans tend to work more effectively in the long term, and she sees no problem with manipulating strangers to get what she wants, although she would never do that to someone she cared about.

HARLON CARVER

A streetcar driver , and the childhood friend of Isbell and Maeryn. Although he is the only Ghost with no special ability, his level-headedness and ability to think quickly in an emergency have proved to be crucial to the group's operations. His involvement with them has more to do with a desire for inclusion than any strong feelings regarding social change.

KISA CAPROOT

The group's medic, who is also kept busy raising his sister's child. Kisa has a methodical approach to problems which does not always allow him to cope quickly in a crisis, but his caring, patient nature and calming influence on the group are a great reassurance to his friends. Keeping the people he loves safe will always be his first priority.

EVALI RAVELL

As one of the guards for the local council, Evali is in a permanent state of alert, and reluctant to let any little detail slip past her. This makes her highly effective in planning tactics for the Ghosts, but she is stubbon and does not tend to give up easily on a plan, even if it puts others at risk. If she does hurt anyone she cares about, though, she is always quick to make amends.

Ive actually seen people be like "Eggman is a good person deep down, he just knows he can achieve his goals through malice" but like... If he had a shred of good inside him, would he really name his space base "The DEATH Egg", or awaken an ancient water god that leveled a whole city, or blow up half a moon and possibly cause casualties from lunar tides going haywire alone, or split the planet into its contents simply to awaken Satan itself to steal its power? No good person would do any of that tbh.

Lol exactly, he doesn't have goodness, care, or empathy for a single other soul and he definitely isn't secretly hiding a good side of him that does and I highly doubt that could change either, it wouldn't make sense with how far he's gone without a single ounce of remorse and no known limits that don't include the planet he wants to rule being entirely destroyed so it ceases to exist. I much prefer to think he knows he could accomplish his goals through good and has all the means to do so but specifically enthusiastically chose the path of evil with full self awareness of how bad and wrong it is because he genuinely enjoys the methods and being evil. It would make a whole lot more sense with everything he's ever done.

I don't get the far fetched theories because why would he have to lie, manipulate, and use propaganda if he was secretly hiding a good side? If the truth proved he was genuinely good hearted and wanted to help people, it would make everyone love and give him the attention he desires, so he could just be honest about what he wants and wouldn't have to take over by force and demand it. But the only time he's ever promised anything good for anyone or expressed desire to change his ways for good have all been blatant lies and it's consistently shown to be a huge mistake to trust and believe him. But I still see real people believe his moments of blatant lies, so apparently he's really good at fooling them too XD

Taking away everyone's freedom and having full control over their minds and beings isn't beneficial to anyone, no matter how much people downplay or sugarcoat it. It's supposed to be evil and fucked up and only beautiful to him and he has to lie and manipulate and use propaganda where he says love is mandatory for a reason. He's going to severely damage the environment and pollute everything heavily, his machines are made for destruction and will replace everything he's destroyed to reshape the planet into his dark twisted image. He won't give a fuck about the feelings or conditions of anyone but himself because there's no free will, they have to do everything he wants. People will either die or live to suffer and honestly the ones that live will be worse off.

Creations of his called the Death Egg and his deadly theme parks with attractions that can kill people in gruesome ways that he's fully aware of clearly enjoys detailing and joking about certainly don't imply goodness in him and his actions lol. No good man would awaken terrible beasts to cause mass amounts of destruction and gain power and control, destroy half of the moon and threaten that people are next if they don't submit and give him control, attempt to kill children and random innocent people, be manipulative and abusive mentally and physically, attempt genocide and carelessly cause tons of collateral damage all the time, intentionally damage wildlife and the environment with deforestation and pollution. The list goes on and on. No good man could go that far.

It just doesn't make any sense for him to be good deep down and hide morals and limits! I can't comprehend anyone thinking otherwise about game canon Eggman, no matter how hard I try. And to act like it's possible for him to come back from all that is also just as absurd. I also think it really wouldn't be a great message to send because someone that's done all the things he's done are in way too deep and unforgivable and irredeemable. Especially evident if they can pretend to want to change their ways but just use it to trick people and stab them in the back, like Eggman has done many times. But fans that want him to be a good person usually don't acknowledge all that or downplay it, so I don't think they realize.

Eggman is supposed to be a selfish character to his very core, it's one of his key character traits. And he hasn't been shown to be capable of feeling empathy, remorse, or genuine goodness that isn't a trick to fool and manipulate to get what he wants and then betray. His official bio of Advance 2 saying that he's "without a thought for anybody else" wasn't kidding. All the moments I've seen people try to use as evidence for otherwise have been taken out of context and misinterpreted, despite it not genuinely blatantly suggesting what they're arguing at all. It often involves putting words in his mouth and deciding it means something else, even though the actual scenes and every he says and actually heavily proves against it.

I love seeing Eggman exactly as he is and loving him for it, not out of believing that it's all a lie and he's actually an entirely different person. I really don't understand the appeal of the latter. There's no tragic sad reason for his evil and his lovable charming charismatic personality that would just make it sad and depressing, he's just a maniacal genius that has a blast being evil and loves making inherently innocent things like theme parks, circuses, carnivals, toys, etc, and turning them into dark twisted fucked up things that are only fun to himself and horrifying and deadly for everyone else. He's power hungry and wants to be hailed for the brilliant genius he is and will not only do whatever fucked up evil it takes but loves every second of it.

And I adore every second of this bastard's evil, he's fucked up and badass AND funny and charming and it commonly overlaps in interesting ways. It's fucking awesome that he can do both so well! No goodness in him required to be the entertaining, lovable, enjoyable character he is. And his evil is part of what makes him so entertaining with all his epic thrilling moments and it makes so many of the stories in the games possible in the first place. Evil is epic and fun and not something every villain needs to be capable of changing or hiding a nice side deep down. I wouldn't change a single thing about Eggman, he's a perfect silly selfish evil asshole bastard man in my eyes 💜🥚

So I finally decided to modify the rules for myself. For the actual rules scroll down. Now I'm gonna be talking about the why. Why do I wanna have my version of the challenge?

Well, first of all, I have my own ideas that I think would add to this challenge, while I also have some rebalancing ideas I thought of while playing/playtesting the challenge. I really do love this challenge, and I feel like I could improve it.

The other reason is that I'd prefer removing the skin tone related restrictions in this challenge (that's why I started playing with the Pleasantsims modifications). I'd also like to use some different language while refering to some aspects.

While I generally think the Pleasantsims version is fine, due to recent events with the owner of the site, I no longer want to link to her and I try to find alternative resources to the site.

Now... Onto the actual rules. Disclaimer: I'll only write the rules for the current stage I'm playing. This post will be updated slowly!

I strongly reccomend you to bend and break these rules for your likings.

What is the Test of Time Challenge about?

The general idea of the challenge, is starting out at the beginning of time, with a few couples, and following their descendants throughout all the major stages of history. The rules change according to time periods, but there are some general rules that apply to every period, unless specified otherwise. This challenge is built on the rotational playstyle, as you will be switching between multiple households from the start.

General Rules:

You can only add new sims to your hood at the beginning of a new stage. Only one sim can be added at a time. This sim could look any way and they can be any class. They could also be supernatural sims like vampires or witches or whatever you want.

All your families must have a method of choosing the heir. You could have a family where the heir is always the oldest man, you could have a family where the heir is always the oldest woman. You could also have a family where the heir is chosen through ritualistic battle, or some kind of test.

The sim marrying into the family always has to take the family name.

If anyone gets into a fight, the loser must die. They can take some time to succumb to their wounds, but do it quickly, with whatever method you choose.

When sims Woohoo, they always must try for baby. Sorry, reliable contraception took some time to develop.

Switch stages after the first grandchild of the "stage starting" adult becomes an adult.

You can add any amount of pets at any time. However you have to be able to feed them just like you feed your sims. (Refer to rule number 9.)

Try to remain logical and period approriate with the items and CC. However you do not have to be perfect historically accurate, I'm not here to give you sleepless nights of researching the lives of people in the middle ages, and desperately trying to find that one perfectly approriate undergarment for your sims.

Food must come from a source. This source could be gathering, farming, fishing or buying it from other sims who did the hard part for you. Food must be made by stocking the ingredient or ingredients used into the fridge first. You can make up your own recipes.

The technology and living enviroment of your sims can change gradually throughout the stage. No need to play for 50 hours with the same basic stuff, that would become boring. It would also be unrealistic to just flip a switch and suddenly go from sleeping under the stars to having a palace.

If the given period has no way of keeping the food items from going wrong, you have to sell every food item in your sim's inventory after an X amount of time. I personally do this every 3 days, cause that's how long my rounds are and leave enough for only one portion. The exception are non heir teens and children, cause they'll gather the food that will be immediately sold if they move out so they can start their adult life easier, or can give it as a marriage gift in the form of funds.

You're not allowed to dig for treasure.

Optional:

Sims from the same family must all dress in their assigned family colors. This just helps with quickly identifying and separating your families. Heirs can have something identifying them through their clothing.

Roleplay. If you wanna do something, think about how that would be possible. For example: you have a lot of money in one family, and think about building a bigger and more complex house for them. Would that be possible or period appropriate? You could say that it's a family with a lot of people in it, and the family members are in good connection with each other, so it could be possible for them to do bigger projects like that.

Use sim hobbies to introduce new items, like a sim with Music & Dance hobby could invent instruments. A sim with the Science hobby could invent the telescope, etc.

Tribal Stage Rules:

This is where the challenge starts. I decided to rename this stage, from "Neanderthal Stage" cause I feel like this one captures the feel of the stage better for me.

First of all, you need a place for your sims to live in. Create a neighbourhood with all time Summer. They're blessed with a perfect weather for farming, but they're cursed by getting roasted while being outside.

You can reset the sims temperature at night. Technically this is not a Tribal Stage exclusive rule, but I think it's gonna be the most relevant here. Your sims can cool off, since the air cools off when the sun is gone. If you wanna be extra realistic you could wait a few hours after night falls.

Sims can only interact with sims that are considered to be part of the challenge. So I strongly recommend you to get the Visitor Controller mod if you don't already have it, or you could just pretend that the random walkbys don't exist.

Couples must Woohoo at least once every 24 hours. However mothers who just gave birth can take a day off, unless they decide to do it anyway with your ACR on.

Sims can't get jobs.

Your sims can visit community lots, but more on those later.

When a sim grows up into an adult, and they're not the heir, they need to move out. They'll get the default 3000 simoleons for moving into the same sized lot as their parents, plus they'll take their belongings if they have any, and the plants and food they gathered.

Graves need to stay on their original lots. Exception are child graves, more on that later.

Your sims can't read. Writing, and especially books haven't been invented yet. Of course this means you can't put down any bookcases and you must cancel any autonomous reading.

How to start the Tribal Stage:

First and foremost create a neighbourhood and gather up your preferred amount of CC. Now you have to populate your place.

Create 5 pairs of adults. You'll need to create them according to these characteristics:

2 couples with Skin 4

2 couples with Skin 1

1 mixed couple with one of them being Skin 2 and the other one being Skin 3

Feel free to ignore this part if you're using custom skin colors, but if you're sticking to basegame, this will ensure you to have pretty varied genetics. Everyone is just gonna end up having black hair and Skin 2 and 3 anyway, lol.

You can freely choose your hair and eye colors.

Optional: Create a story for your couples to know where they came from, why did they move to this new place and how they met each other.

Now it's time to move in everyone. Keep in mind that after you move in your families, you need to set their funds to 3000 simoleons.

Lots in Tribal Stage:

Family lots:

These must be 2x2 lots.

These lots must contain a water source.

These lots must contain the following items (or CC that functions the same way): a stove, a fridge, a table with at least 2 chairs, a counter, a sink, a dresser, a loveseat, a double bed/tent, something for trash collecting, and a toilet.

These plots must have plants or gardening plots for farming.

Everything listed above must be purchised with the starting money of 3000 simoleons.

Community Lots:

You can have any community lot that you like, but you have to keep them natural and you can't have "sim buildings" on it. No one owns these places, so no one wants to build here, they just come here to hang out or gather something.

Examples for lots: forest, hot springs, waterfall, cave, meadow, etc. If you really want some buildings you could have some ruins from an unknown civilization before humanity or whatever you can come up with.

Regarding the cemetery: by the rules of the stage, you need to let the graves stay on their original lot, however, I'd personally recommend you to have a cemetery for the sole reason of ghost children. If by any chance you get one, I would rather send them to an outside burial side, cause I never had children ghosts and I don't know how bad they get with the glitching.

Now everything is ready to play. Don't stress on the rules, go, modify what you want, cause what's important is that you have fun with it.

Finishing the Tribal Stage:

Congratulations, you reached the time of change. Or you're just reading this in advance.

What you have to do now, is some cool **math**, and gather all your families with the same names, and add up how much money they have in total.

This is gonna be important, cause the next stage will introduce the following classes:

Ruling Class (includes the Emperor)

Upper Class/Patricians

Lower Class/Plebeians

Servants

Obviously, the family with the most amount of money will be the ruling class, the next one with the most money will be the patricians and so forth. Keep in mind, that the ruling class is just one family, and there should be less families in higher classes than in the lower classes.

The rest should be taken care of in the Ancient Stage.

Ancient Stage Rules:

I renamed this stage from "Roman Stage" cause I'd like to explore more than just the Roman Empire. I also like to keep my Sims game away from references to the real world.

WARNING: This section is not playtested yet, and I will probably change it in the future. For now this is how I'm planning to play.

The weather has changed. Now your sims will live in changing seasons consisting of a humid and a dry period. (Set the weather to Summer -> Summer -> Spring -> Spring.)

A broad range of new objects have been unlocked for you to use. This is rather straighforward on what you can use or not, but if you're not sure if something specific has been invented yet, then you can freely consult your search engine.

Class Specific Rules:

Ruling Class:

Allowed Lot Size: Large.

The heir of your Ruling Class family becomes the Emperor/Empress.

Ruling Class are only allowed to marry Upper Class. If there aren't any Upper Class avaliable, then you can use the Lower Class for pairing.

Your Emperor/Empress will hire two servants, who will live at the palace. They'll do the housework, and in return they'll get a salary that they can send back home to their families. (I don't have a specified amount for it yet.) You can build them their own living space.

The teens of the Ruling Class can attend school. (You can also choose someone from the Ruling-Upper Class to be a teacher.)

The heir teen of the Emperor/Empress can take a job in Politics.

Sims who're not the heir must move out when they become adults.

Upper Class:

Allowed Lot Size: Large-Medium

Jobs Allowed: Politics, Medicine, Military, Law Enforcement, Science, Education.

Upper Class is able to marry up into Ruling Class. Requirements for this: sim must have a good relationship with the parents/guardians of their desired mate and they must have a $3,000 worth of gift in their inventory. To marry the Emperor/Empress, the same applies, but they must have a gift equaling $5,000.

Upper Class can marry Lower Class.

They can hire 1 servant per household.

Teens may go to school, however they can't take jobs. They can work on some profession at home.

Can own community businesses.

Lower Class:

Allowed Lot Size: Medium

Jobs Allowed: Military, Education, Architecture, Artist (may take lower ranks only).

Lower Class can marry up in rank to Upper Class. Requirements: sim must have a good relationship with the parents/guardians of the desired mate and they must have a $1,000 worth of gift in their inventory.

Can't hire servants.

Teens may go to school, however they can't take jobs. They can work on some profession at home. Lower Class teens can be hired as servants only by the Ruling Class.

Servants:

Allowed Lot Size: Small

Jobs Allowed: Criminal, hired by a family.

If a Servant Class is hired to work at a family, they can't take a job.

Servant Class can marry up into Lower Class. Requirements: none, however if they don't have a good relationship with their desired mate's parents/guardians, they won't be welcome in the family, and won't get into higher class, instead, their spouse will rank down.

Just before a Servant gets married, they have to move out onto their own lot from the family's house they're hired by. Therefore they won't be employed by them anymore.

Servants are not allowed to own anything that costs more than $1,000, as it would seem suspicious. If a member of the Ruling Family or someone who works in Military/Law Enforcement walks by, they'll be charged with stealing. More on that later.

Crime:

With a structured society there came laws. The following are now punishable:

killing someone (severe)

fighting someone outside of an agreed duel (severe)

stealing (moderate)

working in the Criminal career (lol) (moderate)

not paying taxes (moderate)

gossiping about a Ruling Class member (minor)

Sims will only get punished if their crime is witnessed. You can also say that the witness present might not report them for some reason. Feel free to play around with this.

Punisments:

For severe crime: prison with variable sentence (can be lifelong)

For moderate crime: prison with shorter sentence

For minor crime: 1 day of "communal work" at the mine (or any place you can think of)

On the case of the Criminal career:

Sims who work in the Criminal career have a starting chance of "getting caught" at 3% per each day they go to work. With every level they gain in the Criminal career, this chance goes up by 3% per level. (This number is subject to change.)
