Reposting my Velvet analysis Twitter thread I wrote at 1am last night

The thing about Velvet’s character is that the movie doesn’t want you to believe she’s “irredeemable” It shows us how fame tears people apart, not just from their peers but from themselves. I do wish that the movie gave us more insight into what she was like before the popularity so that we’d have a clearer view of why she acts the way she acts but, until we get more content it is what it is.

Here’s the thing, she was the one taking action throughout all of this, sending the letter to JD, tricking Crimp into making the shoulder pads, all of that was her doing. I think her claiming she doesn’t want to work for her popularity goes a lot deeper than what’s on the surface, she doesn’t believe that she’ll ever truly be famous without the trolls' talent, and she has to rely on others for the attention because she has such low confidence in herself (there is no canonical evidence for this so, that this with a grain of salt)

Now cut to the Rave Dome show, she insists on doing an encore despite her brother’s warning and Floyd quite literally being on his last breath. She was desperate, nothing else mattered to her at that moment. When Veneer admits the truth to everyone, it all comes crashing down, those months of retaining that popularity is gone, erased, nothing left. (not ripping on Ven we love him and he did the right thing, just looking at Vel’s pov)

Her story isn’t done, not even close at least from my perspective, she’s locked up into that mindset of. Her hostile behavior wasn’t fake per se but, it comes from a place of corruption of upholding that perfect image fans have of you. You know who else acts like this? John Dory but that’s all for another day.

so, y'all, on here because i think i might have the most views here and catch the most of you, and i really hate this but here it goes.

i think i overstretched myself on here.

not permanently. i'm keeping the multis, definitely know i'll have muse for all the muses on them at some point, but i've been feeling a couple of things for a while. and, unfortunately, i think the only way i'm going to feel better or do better about any of it is if they take the backburner for a while. i've tended to not get replies to threads on the whole a lot over the last year and really only consistently get asks, if that.

i do think this is perhaps due to the fact that i take so long to get around to things (due to the next point) or just i have too much choice for people so they don't want to interact because it's too much mental energy to pick out one muse from a bunch of multis, which i get.

the problem is, however this is happening, it leads me to losing muse on a multi but not finishing the drafts because of so many asks and so i 'sit' there, for weeks, until i finally get back muse again. i almost always feel too guilty to move on to a blog i actually have muse for.

so this is my question for y'all, knowing again, i'm not getting rid of any of the multis... if i only focused on 2-3 star wars muses for a while, put them back on their own blogs or made them their own blogs if they didn't have them, who would you pick?

As an update to my shop post:

My Valas and Kimmuriel plushies are delayed at the moment. I didn't have enough material to make their outfits and accessories, and I want to give them a much more distinct and quality look, so I am going to wait to release them until I'm satisfied with their final designs.

That said, some of the plushies I release over the next few weeks (and probably even a few from tomorrow's opening!) might resemble them depending on different interpretations/headcanons, so anyone who wants one sooner is absolutely welcome to buy one of the premades and reach out to reserve their special outfits when I have them available -- I'll even waive the shipping fees and give you guys a discount :3
