Summary: Colby has an important meeting to go to, but he gets a really bad stomach bug. He insists that he’s fine, but needs the reader to convince him he needs a much deserved break. Will he listen to her and take the break? What will happen if he doesn’t?
Tumblr media
PSA: This is mostly just fluff with a little 🤏🏻 bit of angst and by a little bit I really mean a good section of it, other then that it’s mostly just fluffy.

Y/n’s Pov:
I wake up to the sound of the toilet flushing and blink a few times to let my eyes adjust. I frown as I feel Colby’s side of the bed and it’s cold, meaning he’s been up for a bit. I wait for a few minutes for him to come back, but when he doesn’t I push the duvet back with furrowed brows and get up.
I shiver lightly when my feet hit the floor, even if it is carpet, but keep walking. I walk over to the mostly closed bathroom door and knock on it.
“Babe, you ok?” I ask as I slightly push the door open to peer in.
“Yeah. I’m fine. Go back to bed, I’ll be there in a few, nug,” Colby groans out from the floor next to the toilet.
“You don’t seem fine, Colby. Baby, are you sick?” I ask him as I fully walk in and over to him.
“No. Babe, I’m fine, really,” Colby tells me and I give him a hum of disbelief as I sit down on the tub right behind him.
“I don’t believe you. You’re sweating and by the looks of it, puking. Nobody pukes when they feel fine, babe,” I point out as I run my hand through his hair and he groans, laying his head against the porcelain of the toilet.
“Not to mention you feel a little hot too,” I tell him as I use the back of my hand to feel his forehead lightly before running my hand through his hair again.
“You think I’m hot, huh?” he asks with a tired smirk and I scoff playfully.
“I definitely think you are. If I didn’t I wouldn’t be wearing this ring, but that’s not what I meant and you know it,” I tell him with a roll of my eyes as I hold up my hand, letting the ring glitter in the light of the bathroom.
He smiles softly at me for a moment as he reaches his hand out to me and I grab onto his. He plays with my ring —that he'd given me a few weeks ago— for a moment before he lets out a groan as he leans over like he’s going to puke again, but he doesn’t. As he sits up a little more I rub his back.
“It’s ok if you aren’t feeling well, baby. You can just take a day or two from work,” I tell him as I move my hand to scratch and run my nails over his scalp, making him sigh as he closes his eyes for a moment.
“I can’t… I have that big meeting in the morning, remember? I have to get better,” he groans out before sitting up and puking again.
“Oh, baby…” I coo at him as I rub his back for a moment.
“Babe. I’m sure Sam will be fine taking the meeting,” I tell him as he sits back on the floor.
“I don’t wanna make Sammy do that. He took the meeting last week and the one the week before that,” he groans out, leaning his head against the toilet still, but now he looks up at me with sad eyes.
“Let’s just focus on getting you better right now. If you're better in the morning, you can go, ok?” I tell him just to try to appease him so he’ll listen, and to my surprise he nods tiredly.
“Here. I’ll be right back,” I inform him and he nods as he slumps against the side again.
I quickly rush down to the kitchen and pour him a glass of water. I look in the pantry to see if we have crackers or something, but see nothing so I close it and decide I’ll make a trip to the store when I get a chance. I grab the glass of water and walk back up the stairs to our room.
I walk back through our room and to the bathroom where I see him now half asleep by the toilet. I frown and set the water down before walking over to our linen closet. I grab a washcloth and get it wet with slightly cold water.
I then walk back over to him and put the washcloth to his head, making him jump awake. He looks up at me and I smile softly back at him as I now dab the cloth to his neck.
“Sorry, baby. I just thought the cold might help you a bit. There’s also water here for you. You think you’re ready to go back to bed?” I ask him and he slowly nods in his half sleepy haze.
“Ok. Come on then. Let’s get you up,” I tell him and he grabs my hand.
He flushes the toilet before slowly getting up with my help to steady him. Once he’s standing, I hand him the water and he shakes his head.
“I want to brush my teeth first. Get this nasty taste out of my mouth,” he tells me and I nod before setting the water back on the counter.
“Ok. You do that and I’m going to see if I can find some kind of bucket to keep by the bed, ok?” I ask him and he nods in agreement.
I walk back out into our room and see his trash bin. I quickly go over to it and take the bag out before tying it closed and leaving it by the door to take out later. Just as I stand up straight, he shuffles back out with a small groan.
He shuffles over to the bed and I follow behind him. He slowly gets back into the bed and when I’m sure he’s in, I pull the covers over him. He sighs when he finally feels comfortable and I smile softly at him.
“Go back to sleep, honey. I’m going to run down to the store and get a few things. I’ll be right back,” I tell him before leaning down to leave a kiss on his forehead.
I stand, ready to leave, but he pulls me back as he shakes his head. He holds me in place and I arch a brow at him.
“Don’t go. It’s not safe for you to go out alone. I’ll be fine. Really, nug, stay,” he practically begs me, playing with my ring again, and I sigh.
“Colbs, you need fluids, hon. You need to stay hydrated, not to mention foods that you can eat,” I try to make my point known and he shakes his head.
“Don’t go,” he reiterates himself, shaking his head and I sigh.
“Colbs. Baby. I have to,” I reiterate myself this time and he huffs, crossing his arms while pouting at me.
“Please don’t pout. You know I’ll agree if you pout,” I tell him and run my hand through his hair as he tiredly smirks at me.
“Kinda the point, nug,” he tells me with a playful eye roll and I sigh once again.
“Look. Will it make you feel better if I wake Sam and ask him to come with me?” I ask and he sits up a little more as if it intrigues him.
“It’d make me feel a whole lot better at this hour in Vegas, nug, but are you sure you wanna wake him?” he asks as he once again sinks back into the bed.
“I guess I’ll have to if it’ll make you feel better about it. Go to sleep, I’ll be back soon,” I promise him as I scratch at his head and he sighs, sinking even further into the bed.
“Ok. Go to sleep. Bucket’s right here if you need it. I’ll be as quick as I can,” I promise again only to smile when I get a soft hum back.
Once I’m sure he’s asleep, I walk to the closest and put on a pull-over. I grab my purse and put on some easy slip-on shoes. When I’m done grabbing my stuff, I quietly walk over to my side of the bed and grab my phone before heading to the door.
On the way out I grab the garbage bag to take out and when the door is shut quietly, I start walking towards Sam’s room. I knock on the door lightly and it takes a minute, but soon he’s opening the door.
“Oh, you're already up. So I didn’t wake you. Good,” I comment and he nods.
“Yeah, me and Kat decided to watch a movie tonight. What’s up?” he asks and I peek in to see Kat sitting on the bed, playing on her phone.
“Hi, Kat!” I shout to her and she smiles while looking up at me before giving a small wave.
“Hi, y/n,” she replies and I wave back at her.
“So what’s up?” Sam asks and I giggle.
“Oh, yeah. Colby’s pretty sick and we have nothing in this new house for sick people. I was going to run to the store to get stuff, but-” I start to explain and Sam shakes his head.
“Colby told you not to go alone, huh?” he asks and I nod.
“Yeah. So I promised him I’d ask you to tag along,” I agree with him and he chuckles.
“Babe," he says to Kat. "Do you care if I go to the store with y/n?”
“No. Go ahead. Can you get me a Hickory sticks please?” Kat asks him and he nods as he picks up his keys.
“Alright. Let’s go then,” he tells me before stepping out of the room and closing the door behind him.
“How sick exactly is he?” Sam asks as we walk out of the house and to his car.
“I think it’s a stomach bug. He went to bed not feeling too well, but was convinced it’d go away. I just woke up like maybe fifteen to twenty minutes ago to him puking,” I explain as he unlocks the car and I open my door to slide into the passenger side seat.
“I’m going to need to get us a new thermometer too. I have no idea where ours went after the move,” I comment as he starts the car up and pulls out onto the road.
“Let me guess, he’s insisting on going to the meeting tomorrow?” Sam asks quickly, looking at me for a moment before looking back to the road and I sigh.
“Yeah. He won’t listen to reason. I told him I was sure you’d be ok with taking it if he’s sick, but you know Colbs,” I tell him and he hums in agreement while turning his blinker on.
“I told him that we’d see in the morning, but I’m definitely not letting him go,” I finished and he nods in agreement.
“I wouldn’t be letting him go either. It’s ok, I’ll take it,” he promises me and I sigh in relief that he’s on my side.
“Thank you, Sam,” I tell him and he nods, reaching down for my hand to give it a soft squeeze.
“You’re welcome. I know Colby can be a little difficult when he’s sick. He just sometimes doesn’t get when he needs breaks. I’m glad he has you to make him take them,” he tells me as he parks the car and turns it off.
“Well, I did agree to in sickness and in health, or at least I will be in a few months,” I tell him with a shrug and Sam grins, nodding before unbuckling himself.
“And I’m excited for you guys. I bet you’ll look super beautiful in your dress. So beautiful, Colby may cry,” he jokes and I giggle.
“Colby, cry? Whatever are you talking about?” I joke back and he rolls his eyes as he lets out a groan.
“Oh, he’ll cry alright…” he adds on and I giggle smiling.
“Thank you, Sam. I’m sure he will,” I tell him and he nods as he pushes his door open.
We both get out and walk over to the store.
“Wanna split up then meet back at the till’s?” I ask him and he purses his lips as I grab a basket.
“It’ll get us done quicker and home sooner, Sammy,” I tell him with a giggle as I walk a little further into the store and he shakes his head.
“Deal, but meet back in exactly ten minutes,” he tells me, pointing a finger at me and I giggle.
“Fifteen minutes tops,” I playfully tell him and he rolls his eyes.
“Fine, fifteen minutes, but right back here,” Sam says and I nod in agreement, smiling at him.
I then quickly turn and start to walk to the aisle I know the thermometer will be in. I walk down to the whole wall of medicines, quickly looking over them just to see if there’s one that could help Colby, but unfortunately find none.
“He’s just going to have to ride this one out,” I think to myself as I move a little further down the aisle to look for the thermometer. I look over the many different options and read through the information on the back of some of them before deciding which I want.
I grab one and quickly set it in the basket before fully standing up from where I had crouched down. I quickly look at my watch and see I have about ten more minutes till I have to meet up with Sam. I decide to go over to get him crackers and some soup.
I also get him some cold and hot therapeutic ice packs, some 7up and Gatorade, as well as some jello and pudding. Last I grab a multi pack of toothbrushes, knowing he’ll probably want a new one after it’s last use.
Once I’m sure I have everything, I head back towards the tills only to find Sam already paying. He looks up just as I walk up to the self checkout and smiles, making me giggle. I quickly scan the items and pay, then put it all in the bag I keep in my purse.
Sam finishes before me and waits at the end of the self checkout. I quickly grab the receipt and my bag of stuff before walking over to meet him.
“Ready to go?” he asks and I nod.
“Yeah. Let’s go,” I tell him as we start to walk.
We walk out of the store and start down the aisle he parked on as my phone starts to ring. I look at Sam in confusion and he shrugs as I move the bag from my right hand to my left. I pull my phone out to see it’s Kat calling and answer as we continue walking.
“Hey. What’s up?” I ask her and I hear her huff.
“So, I went in to check on Colby just because I thought I should, and he’s like really burning up,” she explains in a rushed tone and Sam takes the bags from my hands.
He opens his trunk and puts the bags in before turning to look at me as I talk to his girlfriend. Sam arches an eyebrow at me for a moment as he waits to know what’s going on.
“How hot is his forehead?” I ask and she clicks her tongue as Sam stands up a little straighter at the sound of her panic.
“Too hot. I couldn’t even really touch his forehead. I don’t know what to do. He’s really out of it too. Thought I was you,” she explains in a panicked, rushed tone.
“Colby, no! Put it back on your head!” Kat shouts and I look up at Sam in a panic.
He nods at me before rushing around his side and I rush to mine. Sam quickly gets in and lets me in. I buckle in while Sam starts the car up and quickly starts to pull out of the parking space.
“Kat. Do you think you can get him in a cold bath?” I ask her in my calmest voice.
“I have him keeping a cold cloth on his head, but I may need Sam’s help to get him in the tub,” she tells me and I nod, biting my lip.
“Ok. Well keep him drinking water and keep the wash cloth as cold as you can. We’re just down the street. Should be home here in a bit,” I calmly explain what she needs to do.
“Ok. See you in a bit,” she replies and I let out a sigh.
“See you in a minute,” I agree before hanging my phone back up.
“How’d you know to do that?” Sam asks as he continues to drive and I start to fidget in my seat.
“How’d I know to do what?” I ask him as I fidget with my ring while sitting up as straight as I can.
“To put him in a cold bath?” Sam clarifies and I bite at my lip.
“Ahh… when I was little, I’d get really bad fevers and it’d get to the point where I’d almost start seizing. So when I got super close the first time, my dad rushed me to the bathroom and held me in an ice cold bath,” I explain and Sam’s eyes widen a little.
“Oh. Shit. Y/n, that’s crazy. Did they ever stop?” he gasps in shock before moving onto his question and I sigh.
“The cold baths help get the fever down most of the time. They usually happen in kids, but the occasional adult can seize with no signs of problems. I haven’t had one since before meeting Colby,” I continue to explain and Sam shakes his head.
“Does he know about this?” Sam asks and I puff out a breath.
“Yes, Sam, he knows. I told him in case I do indeed have one when he’s around so he’ll know what to do,” I tell him in an anxious tone.
“Ok. He’ll be ok, ya know,” Sam says and I jump.
“If he starts to seize while we’re away, he’ll need a hospital, Sam,” I tell him and he shakes his head.
“And he won’t. Kat's got him, she'll keep him good till we get there. Plus, we’re almost there,” he tells me in a reassuring tone and I shake my head.
“You can’t know that…” I tell him and he sighs.
“Y/n. I do know that. It’s Colby,” Sam replies and I sigh, nodding.
“Let’s just get home, please,” I practically beg and he nods back.
Soon before I know it, Sam is pulling up to the house and he doesn’t even get a chance to park as I throw my door open. I quickly get out and head inside, rushing to our room.
“Oh, y/n! You're here, good. He’s a little out of it,” Kat tells me as I walk in.
“Nugget! Where you been, huh? Come cuddle?” Colby shouts excitedly, holding his arms out for me.
“Not right now, hon. First we gotta take your temperature, ok?” I ask him as Sam walks in with all the bags.
“Oh my gosh. I’m sorry, Sam. I completely forgot,” I tell him as he sets the bags down.
“It’s no problem, y/n. You're good,” he tells me as he walks over to me.
“Go run him that cold bath. I’ll help Kat carry him into the bathroom. Do you think you’ll need my help actually getting him into the tub?” Sam asks and I shake my head.
“I think I can possibly coerce him in. If not, I’ll let you know,” I answer and he nods before I walk off into the bathroom.
I quickly turn the water on and turn it to the coldest it’ll go. I test it for a second, nodding to myself when it feels nice and cold. The door opens as Sam and Kat walk in, each with one of Colby’s arms wrapped around their shoulder.
“You got him from here?” Sam asks as I take the arm he’s holding.
“I should. I’ll shout if I need you,” I tell him and he nods.
“Ok. We’ll go put your cold stuff away for you,” Sam informs me as he picks up the bag of drinks.
“Ok. Thank you,” I agree with him, nodding and he smiles softly at me.
“It’s no problem at all, y/n. Call me if you need anything,” he says one last time and I nod before he and Kat walk out.
“Colbs. Baby. I need you to start undressing please,” I tell him, and he smiles, confusing me.
“Baby! You're home,” he says and I sigh.
“Yes, hon. I’m home. Now, help me undress you, please?” I ask him and he smirks lazily.
“You wanna get me naked…” he says as he slowly bounces his eyebrows at me and I groan.
“No, baby. Not right now. We need to get your temperature down, so you need to get into the bath,” I try explaining to him, but he seems to zone out.
“Colby?” I ask with a frown and he starts to sway a bit.
“Ok… woah. Woah. Woah. Let’s just sit you down, baby,” I tell him as I softly guide him back to the closed toilet.
I set him down on it and look down at him for a moment before playing with his hair. He still looks distant for a second before his eyes close and I sigh softly before reaching down to the bottom of his shirt.
“Arms up, babe,” I command gently as I tap his side. I smile softly as he does as I ask before I slowly and carefully pull his tank off.
“Ok. Now your pants, baby,” I again command as I tap his leg before reaching for his waist.
He continues to space out as I pull his sweats off his legs. I look up at him and it seems he starts to sway.
“Ok, baby. We need to get you in. I’m leaving your boxers on. I promise I’ll get you a new pair after,” I tell him and I expect him to make another joke about me getting him naked, but he doesn’t, making me frown.
“Ok. Come on,” I lightly command as I pull him up off the seat.
We walk over to the tub and I quickly make sure it’s still cold. I then pull him a little closer in hopes he’ll step into it.
“Colbs, honey. You need to get in,” I tell him and he finally lifts his left leg.
“Damn, that’s cold,” he points out and I let a small smile fall on my face.
“I know, my love, but you have to get in farther,” I tell him, but he doesn’t reply as he slowly starts to sway.
“Colby, please get into the tub. You have one foot in, now the other one,” I coach him softly and he listens, putting his other foot in.
“Ok. Now sink down, baby. The water should bring your temp down significantly,” I command him and he slowly does with my help.
Once in, he sits back for a moment before he shivers lightly. He finally seems to clear up as he looks over at me.
“Oh hi, baby,” he comments and I giggle, lightly shaking my head.
“Hi, hun. How you feeling?” I ask him as I now smooth back his hair.
“Cold and like I’m sick,” he groans out and I giggle lightly.
“Well. I think your temperature has gone down. I’m going to check just in case though,” I tell him and he nods as he starts to shiver a little more.
I walk out of the bathroom and over to the bags Sam had left before rooting through them. It takes me a moment, but I soon find the thermometer I’d bought and take it out of the bag. Once I have the box, I start back to the bathroom while trying to open it.
“Uggh. Dumb box,” I mutter as I walk back in and Colby smiles softly at me before lifting his hand out of the water.
“Give it here, baby,” he opens and closes his shaking hand as a way of telling me to give it to him.
“Are you sure?” I ask him and he chuckles again.
“I may be cold and sick, nug, but I can still help you even then,” he jokes, rolling his eyes playfully and I smile, glad he’s back to somewhat normal.
“Okay. Here you go then,” I tell him as I set the box in his hand.
His hand closes around it before he’s pulling it back towards himself. His other hand comes out of the water and he effortlessly pulls the tab of the box open. With a smirk, he hands it back to me and I giggle as I take it from him.
“Thank you, my love,” I tell him as I stand and leave a kiss on his head, making him cringe.
“Baaaaabe!” he dramatically groans and I giggle as I quickly start to pull the thermometer out of the box.
“What?” I ask, pretending I didn’t do anything and he rolls his eyes as I walk up to him.
“You’re lucky I want to spend forever with you or I’d be gone after that,” he tells me and I playfully gasp.
“Over a forehead kiss?” I dramatically ask as I put a hand to my heart.
“Yes. Over a forehead kiss. Nug, you know what I always say…” he trails off and I hum in fake agreement.
“Open your mouth, Colbs,” I tell him as I flick the thermometer lightly like the instructions tell me to and he does.
“Ok. Under the tongue, babe,” I tell him and he rolls his eyes.
“Those are the worst thermometers…” he comments and I giggle.
“But it was the best one there,” I explain and he rolls his eyes again in exaggeration.
I put it in his mouth and leave it in for a moment. After the moment is up, I lean back over to take it out of his mouth and look over it.
“Says you're down to at least 102 now, so you should be good to get out,” I tell him and he sighs, throwing his head back.
“Thank God. That shit was cold,” he exclaims as he stands up and I pass him his towel.
“I know. I’m sorry. We can go cuddle in bed and warm you up now, though,” I tell him and he smiles tiredly at me.
“That sounds wonderful, nug,” he tells me and I nod.
“Ok. Then get out of your wet boxers and get changed into some other clothes, then we can,” I tell him and he nods.
I go to walk out of the bathroom, but he pulls me back and I giggle when I see confusion on his face. He gives me a light pout and I poke his stomach.
“What?” I ask him and he flicks my hand playfully but tiredly.
“Where are you going?” he asks as he frowns again and I giggle.
“I am going to get you some crackers and 7up. I promise I’ll be right back for those cuddles, but you need food in your system,” I explain to him as I poke at his stomach again and he shakes his head.
“Ok, but hurry back… I want cuddles…” he agrees with a puppy dog look and I giggle.
“There’s my sick cuddle bear. I was worried about him there for a moment. You were pretty out of it,” I admit as I put a hand on my hip.
“Honestly I don’t really remember getting in,” he admits back and I sigh.
“Symptoms of a very high fever, babe. I’m just happy you didn’t start having a seizure,” I tell him and he sighs.
“I’m sorry you even know that, baby girl,” he apologizes and I shrug.
“Don’t be sorry. Not like you ever made me get high fevers,” I tell him with a soft smile.
“Ok. I’m going to get the crackers and 7up. I’ll be right back,” I promise him and he smiles at me.
“You better be!” he jokes as I walk out, shaking my head.
I walk down to the kitchen and grab a 7up along with a pack of the crackers. Once I have the stuff, I walk back up to our room and set it all down on Colby’s side table. I frown when I hear the toilet flush and Colby groan again.
I quickly walk back to the bathroom only to find him where I’d found him earlier on. He once again sits with his head leaning against the toilet.
“Oh, baby,” I coo as I go over to him, making him look up at me.
“You feel like you're done?” I ask as I crouch down and rub his back soothingly.
“Yeah, I might be,” he groans out before he sighs, leaning his head against the side of the toilet.
“Ok. Let’s get you up and back to bed then,” I tell him as I rub the top of his back.
“Come on, baby. Let’s go cuddle,” I comment as I help him stand up.
“Do you wanna brush your teeth again?” I ask him and he shakes his head.
“Just water, I don’t have the energy to brush right now,” he sluggishly tells me and I shrug, nodding.
“That’s perfectly fine, my love,” I reassure him as best as I can before starting the walk to our bed.
I guide him slowly over and help him sit down before he moves to lay down. He cuddles into his pillow and sighs. I smile softly before standing straight and taking a step over to the door, but Colby grabs onto my hand.
“Nug, where ya going? I thought we were gonna cuddle?” he asks as he holds my hand so I won’t leave.
“We are, honey, I promise. I was just going to get the 7up and crackers. I’ll be right back. They’re just on the table by the door,” I tell him and he nods, letting me go.
I give him a soft smile before continuing over to our bedroom door. I quickly grab the two items and walk back over to place them on his bedside table. I then walk around the bed and pull the covers back before getting in.
Colby smiles sheepishly at me as he holds his arms open and I giggle, laying down as he wraps them around me. I reach up and start scratching at his scalp and he lets out a sigh with his eyes closing.
“I’m going to watch some tv. You ok with that, babe?” I ask him and he just tiredly hums.
I grab the remote and turn the tv on and just watch mindless tv for a bit. Before I know it, my eyes start to slowly close and I’m lolled into a deep sleep.
~Time Skip~
I scrunch up my face as I wake up to a light turning on in our dark room. I sit up and sigh when I don’t find Colby in bed again. I look over at the clock to see it says eight o’clock.
With a sigh, I look over at where the light is coming from and see that it’s the closet light. I shake my head before getting up and walking over to the closet. I lean against the door frame with my arms crossed, watching as Colby gets dressed, but he doesn’t notice me and continues on.
“What do you think you are doing?” I ask out loud and he startles, jumping ever so slightly.
“Babe! You scared me,” he comments before going back to what he was doing.
“I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention. But what are you getting dressed for?” I ask him with a raised eyebrow and he gives me a sheepish look as he rubs at his neck.
“Nothing…” he tries and I shake my head, making him sigh.
“Fine… I was getting ready for the meeting…” he admits to me like a scared child would.
“Oh no, you are not. You are not going anywhere. Change back into your sweats because you're not going anywhere,” I sternly tell him and he sighs.
“Nug. I have to go. I can’t let Sammy take it again,” he practically pleads with me and I shake my head.
“Colby. Sam already told me he’d take it. Now I’m not asking, I'm putting my foot down, babe. You almost had a seizure. I am not letting you out of the house until this bug passes,” I inform him in as stern of a tone I can.
“Ok. Ok. Nug, I’ll change…” he agrees before coming over to me and wiping a tear I didn’t even realize fell.
“I won’t leave. Sam can take it. I’m sorry,” he apologizes as he pulls me into a loose hug and I nod.
“Thank you. I’m sorry, too. Just seeing it rather than being the one going through it…” I try to explain and he nods.
“And it was you going through it… it just… it scared me, I guess,” I finish and he nods softly in understanding.
“I’m so sorry I scared you, nug. I promise, I’ll stay right here with you until this bug is gone,” he tells me and I tighten my arms around him in thanks.
“Ok. Go lay down, I'll be right there. Let me just change outta these jeans,” he says as he pulls back from our hug to look at me and I nod softly.
He lets go of me and I sniffle lightly as I walk back to our bed. I get in and lay there for a few minutes, waiting for him to join me. Soon he comes back into our room, turning off the light of the closet before coming over and getting into the bed with me.
He pauses as he sits before bending over and grabbing his trash bin. He pukes into it and I quickly jump to a sitting upright position to rub his back.
“It’s ok, baby. Let it out,” I tell him and soon he finishes, picking his head up to look at me.
“Give me the bin, babe,” I say, holding my hands out.
“No. I can take care of it, nug,” he groans out and I sigh.
“Colby, just give me the can. You don’t have the energy to take care of it. I’ll just go dump it and rinse it. I can handle it,” I tell him and he sighs, nodding tiredly before putting it into my hands.
“Eat some of those crackers while I’m gone. I’ll be right back,” I promise him as I stand and head to the bathroom.
As I walk over, I smile softly when I hear the packaging rustle, meaning he’s opening them before fully walking into the bathroom. I quickly dump the contents into the toilet before rinsing it in the bathtub. Once that’s done, I walk over and wash my hands of the germs before grabbing the bin and walking back out.
“Ok. Here’s the bin, babe,” I tell him as I pass it back and he sets it back on the floor.
“Thank you for taking such good care of me, nug,” he says as we both lay back down.
“Always, Colby. In sickness and health in a few months, right? Why not start a little earlier,” I say with a playful shrug and he chuckles.
“Are you done eating your crackers? Think you wanna get some more sleep now?” I ask him and he nods, cuddling me a little closer.
“Sleep sounds wonderful, nug,” he mutters before sighing tiredly.
“Then sleep, my love. Sleep,” I tell him as I rub at his belly.
“Alright. Good night, nug. I love you,” he tells me and I smile softly as I continue to rub his stomach.
“I love you too, Colby. Sleep,” I whisper as I cuddle ever so slightly closer.
I wait till his breath evens out and pull the blankets up a little higher. Soon my eyes slowly start to close as I listen to his heartbeat and I fall into a peaceful sleep.
The End.

Prompt List
------------------------------------
Tumblr media
It was a normal day for Sam and Colby. They had posted a new video recently and were going through the comments.
The comments on this video, however, were particularly negative for no reason. They also seemed to be mostly targeted at Colby.
Needless to say, both boys were a bit upset and wanted comfort. Sam had Kat up in his room with him, but Colby's girlfriend Y/N was still at work. Seeing the state her own boyfriend was in, she could only imagine what state Colby was in, seeing as they were practically targeting him.
So, making a decision to help her friend, she sent Y/N an SOS text. This was a message that the girls of the trap house had started using when the boys were all still staying in the first traphouse. It was a message that said there was trouble and to get there ASAP. She got a response telling her her friend would be there soon.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Y/N walked into the dimly lit house. It was way too quiet for the people who lived there. Now she understood why she had received the SOS from Kat. She walked up to her boyfriends room, figuring out that's where she would find him. Her heart ached as she saw her boyfriend, Colby, slumped on the ofice chair by his desk. Colby had always been a strong and resilient person, he almost always had that beautiful contagious smile of his on his face, but today, the weight of negative comments on his and Sam's video had taken its toll, dragging him into a whirlpool of doubt and self-criticism. She had seen the comments on the video. She had been absolutely furious when they had attacked the boys who worked so hard to make content for the fans who they loved. She had been beyond furious when she saw the ones targeting her love personally.
She couldn't fathom how these people could be so cruel to a man who gave his everything to give them content that they would enjoy.
Seeing this man, the man she absolutely adored, the man who had unkowingly saved her life, like this, slouching in his chair with his head in his hands, his shoulders shaking ever so slightly, didn't just break her heart, it shattered it into millions of tiny pieces.
Y/N aproached him softly not wanting to startle him too much, she knew he had noticed her when he lifted his head ever so slightly. The look in his beautiful ocean blue eyes broke her heart even more. She gently brushed Colby's messy hair away from his forehead and placed a tender kiss on his temple. "I love you," she whispered softly, her voice permeating the air with soothing affection. Colby's breath hitched as he absorbed her words, the depth of her love washing over him like a healing balm. He leaned into her body and buried his head in her chest. She continued to very gently run her fingers through his hair.
"Those comments don't define you, Colby, and they cerainly don't come from all of your fans. Most of them love you boys and you know that." Y/N spoke, her voice steady yet filled with conviction. "You are talented, creative, and so loved by many—including me. Your worth isn't measured by the opinions of faceless strangers."
Her words resonated, and Colby's tense shoulders began to relax slightly. Y/N knew that while her words were a start, actions would speak louder than anything she could say. She took his hand in hers, entwining their fingers as a symbol of unwavering support.
Y/N gently pulled Colby up off his chair and guided him to lay down on the bed, propping pillows up behind his back for support. Tenderly, she covered him with a soft blanket, creating a cozy haven that shielded away the negativity and doubt that had plagued him all day.
She lay curled up next to him and gently ran her fingers through his hair. Eventually, his breathing started to even out, and soft snores started to come from his slightly parted lips.
She continued to watch over him, marveling in just how much love she had for this man. He was the love of her life, and she knew and had known for a while now that his was her person. This was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
She reached over and grabbed her phone. She texted Kat, asking her how Sam was doing. After hearing that the man she cared for as an older brother would be ok and was also asleep, she bid her sister in all but blood a good night put her phone back on the nightstand and cuddled into Colby's side. Falling asleep content in the knowledge that her boys were going to be ok.

The New Hampshire House (Trap House Imagine)
Summary: You and the trap house boys decided to travel to New Hampshire for a week to film Sam and Colby’s new series. Trouble arises on the first night.

Slowly sliding through the mist came a faint human-like figure and went into the new house. I shrugged it off as my imagination and helped the guys carry everything inside.
When Sam, Colby, Jake, and Corey invited me on this trip, the last place I expected to be was in a haunted house in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire. I knew we would be doing the typical stuff for the week: haunted overnights, explore videos, and midnight rituals. What I didn’t know is that they lied to me about our lodging situation. I was told we were going to be staying in this nice Air BnB in a cute little neighborhood. They even showed me pictures. But when we flew in Colby announced to me, because he had already talked to everyone while I was asleep on the plane, that there was a problem with the original house and he had to book this one last minute. We’ve been at this house for about 20 minutes and let me tell you, Bradford, New Hampshire looks and feels creepy.
“Y/N, come in the living room, we have to talk.” I heard Sam shout from probably the living room.
“Coming!” I exclaimed. I walk into is what I think is the kitchen and spot Colby walks into a different room. I follow him and find everyone sitting around together.
“Y/N, we have to get a few things for this week and we need you to stay here and set up some stuff,” Sam explains when he sees me.
“What? No way! I am not staying in this creepy house by myself! Why can’t we all go or one of you stay we me?”
“We’re going shopping for food and supplies for the week. The rental is small and we need to get a lot of things.” Colby explains, patting the seat next to him for me to sit.
“Sure leave the four of you in charge of getting the food we’re going to be living on for the next week. You know what, I’m willing to put feminism back a few years for this. I’m the woman here and I’m probably going to be doing all the cooking anyway. I’ll go grocery shopping, Jake can stay home.” I sit on the armchair by myself and cross my legs; I’m not going out without a fight.
“Y/N, you know if we leave Jake, we’ll never get the deposit back.” Corey jokes.
“Fine, then you stay Ye Rock.”
“Fuck that, I’m not staying here.”
“Then why do I have to?”
“Please, Y/N, we’ll all owe you big time. We’ll be gone for an hour—two hours tops. We just need someone to charge the equipment and double-check that we have everything.” I throw my hands up and sink into the couch. There is no way I’m going to win this argument.
           I wave goodbye to everyone as they pull out of the driveway. I scan the street one more time before locking the door. We’re really the only house out here. Nothing but dirt and trees for miles. If I didn’t know any better, I would think we were in the middle of the suicide forest. I check all of the equipment that Sam and Colby left behind for me to charge. I stay downstairs for 20 minutes after that before going upstairs to my room to unpack a bit. I close the door and start putting my clothes away.
Knock, knock, knock.
I go and open the door, knowing that I’m the only one home, to find nobody there. It’s probably just one of the guys trying to scare me. Maybe they wanted to get a prank video done and make me the subject of their torture. I close the door and go into the closet to start putting some clothes on hangers again. I see a box probably, from the owners, tucked away in the corner. I know I probably shouldn’t open it, I’m a guest in this house. But my curiosity gets the best of me and I get the desk chair and climb on it to reach the shelf. After a few misses, I grab the old dusty brown box. I blow the dust off and open it to find old newspaper articles about this house.
THE DAILY NEWS: MAN MURDERED IN HIS OWN HOUSE
Mark White (Age 37) was murdered in his home today. He suffered head wounds and had multiple stab wounds. His wife (Arianna White, Age 35) found him dead in the family room with the possible murder weapon. Police officers found no fingerprints on the evidence…
Out of all the houses in the area, Sam and Colby had to choose the murder house. They probably did this on purpose. I go through the box I see pictures of a man and a woman, probably Mark and Arianna, standing in front of the house. Then I pick up another newspaper article.
DAILY NEWS: WOMAN MURDERED IN HER HOME
Arianna White (Age 35) was murdered in her home today. She has suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Mrs. White’s husband was murdered last month in the family room and his wife was found there dead. Her children found her dead when they came home from school and called 911. The family was in the process of moving.
           They have to be fucking with me. There is no way that this group of people, the group that is always doing spooky shit, just happened to book an Air BnB where two—possibly more—people have died. On top of that, them leaving me home along with wouldn’t be a coincidence either. There have to be hidden cameras around the house. How did I find the one room in the house that conveniently just had this box in it?
“No, absolutely fucking not. Nope. Fuck you guys. I’m over this, you picked the wrong bitch.” I shout to nobody in particular and put the box back. I grab my laptop and head to my bed to binge the series I started yesterday.
I must have been tired because I fell asleep while watching the show. It’s dark now and the house is unusually quiet. I sit up and turn on the light to look for my phone. I grab it and unlock my phone to a text from Colby saying that they dropped off the groceries but had to head out for something. He said that they didn’t want to wake me up, so they left without me and would come back with dinner. I rolled my eyes and head downstairs. I pass by the thermostat on the way down and turn on the heat. For the middle of summer, it’s oddly cold.
When I get to the kitchen I check to see what the four dumb asses managed to get us for provisions. Surprisingly, they got things that we can have for actual meals, on top of snacks. I grab the stovetop popcorn and begin to make it. I turn around and hear a loud crash behind me. The bags on the dining room table were now on the floor.
“Y/N,” I heard a faint voice say. This has to be a prank. They guys have to be home and hiding filming me somewhere.
“Get out of our house, Y/N.” Now I hear two faint voices one sounded like a man and the other sounded like a woman. This getting weird. Maybe they hired a woman to help prank me. Or maybe one of them finally nailed their fake woman voice.
“You guys can stop now! I’m actually scared so you won. You come out and welcome me to the prank war.”
“Nobody’s here, Y/N. No one is going to help you.” The voices are getting closer.
“I’m never doing another video with any of you, ever again. If you don’t— if you don’t come out right now I’ll move out.”
“Then leave!” Something else falls somewhere else in the house, causing me to scream and jump back into the hot stove. If it’s not the guys, then the ghosts of this house are still here holding a grudge against their killers. I start getting goosebumps and the hair on the back of my neck as I turn off the stove.
“Sam, Colby, Jake, and Corey you better fuck off right now!” I yell as I start running to my room. This house is huge it’s easy to get lost.
While I’m running things are flying and falling behind me. I’m going to kill them when I see them. After what seems like forever I finally get to my room. I lock the door and slide my back down it. I grab my phone from my back pocket and dial Colby’s number. As I call, I feel things getting thrown at the door.
“Hello—”
“Are you guys fucking with me right now?” I ask as I move myself to the closet.
“What do you mean? We’re not even home right now.” He sounds only mildly panicked, I don’t even know if he’s faking or not.
“Cole Robert Brock, are you and your asshole friends somewhere on property pulling a prank on me?” The banging on the door stopped and I poked my head out of the closet door.
“No, we’re on our way home from a witchcraft store for some ritual ingredients that we couldn’t find at the store. What are you talking about?”
“I don’t know, things are weird here and I’m over—” A loud bang at the door causing me to scream louder than I think I’ve ever done in my entire life.
“Oh, shit. Okay, we’ll be right there.” I hear Colby and everyone else running in the background. I don’t know if it was my scream or if they heard the bang in the background, but now they’re done fucking around.
Colby stays on the phone with me while I go back to hiding in the closet. A few minutes later I hear footsteps approaching my door. When the footsteps get close enough, that when the loud banging started up again, causing me to scream.
“Oh, fuck, sorry. Y/N, it’s just us, open the door.” Colby says on the other line.
I take a few deep breaths and open the door to reveal my idiots, scared out of their minds. I drop my phone and wrap my arms around Colby. I didn’t even realize I was crying until Colby hugged me back and started stroking my hair. Normally, I hate it when he does this because his rings get stuck in my hair, but right now I just need this hug from my best friend.
“What the fuck happened to the house?” Jake asks, breaking the silence.
“What do you mean? It was your guys’ prank.” I pull away from Colby and look at the four of them in disbelief.
“Uh, not it’s not. The box in your closet, the stuff in your bathroom, and the two dummies outside are our pranks. All this other shit was all you.” Corey says, picking up broken glass and dropping it on the floor.
“No, it wasn’t. Do you honestly think I’m that good of an actress? I broke character like two months ago when I tried to convince Sam that Colby fell into a ditch the last time we did an overnight. Do you genuinely think I could sit here, screaming and crying for fun? Or that I would somehow have the time to break all that shit and stage the knocking on my door.” I wipe my face and step back to finally let the boys in my room.
“She’s not wrong guys, she does share a brain cell with us. I don’t think she could pull this off. She didn’t even know we were coming here until this afternoon and she can’t think that fast.” Jake says before flopping himself on my bed.
“You know what Webber, I may be scared, but I’m not scared to throw these hands—”
“Guys! Let’s think about this. Couldn’t it have been an earthquake or something? Or the movement of Y/N running. It’s a pretty old house.”
“It can’t be an earthquake dude, I’m pretty sure New Hampshire hasn’t unlocked those yet,” Corey explains.
“Okay, first of all, Sam I’m pretty sure you called me fat but I’ll deal with that later. Second, Corey, you’re so fucking stupid, I swear to God. I’m constantly worried about your well being. And thirdly, Colby either you’re sleeping in here with me or I’m sleeping in your room with you because I refuse to sleep alone tonight.” I explain, sitting down on the floor.
“Wait, can we talk about this seriously. If none of us set up this prank, then who the fuck did. Do you think the owners of this house are doing this? Because if they are, I vote we get the fuck out right now.”
“Why would they even do that?” Sam asks, now joining me on the floor.
“To scare us before they murder us, brother,” Jake says jokingly from my bed.
“Will you shut the fuck up?” Corey says from the door.
“Can we be serious for one second—” Sam is cut off by the lights going out, covering us in a deep velvet of pitch black. Not even the windows are helping. All five of us scream but dare not move.

Colby paced as he stood outside of his car at the airport. He felt as if he was losing his mind. He didn’t know what he was going to do when you arrived. He knew that being an older brother meant having some responsibility but he never expected that he would be taking care of you. What if he didn’t do a good job? What if you started to resent him? What would he do if you got hurt? He could feel a panic attack starting to arise and knew that he needed to do something to control it.
He pulled out his phone and dialed Katrina’s number.
“Hey Colbs, what’s up?”
“Kat, I’m panicking. What if she starts to hate me? What if I just completely ruin her life while she’s here? What if she hates LA, what would I do then? What if-”
“Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Colby slow down. Everything is going to be fine. She’s your sister, she’ll love you no matter what and I’m sure she’s excited to be living with you. You are not going to ruin her life, plus she’s a teenager she’s not five. For the most part, I’m pretty sure she knows how to handle herself.”
“I just don’t know what to do Katrina.”
“Colby I promise you, everything is going to be fine. Plus, you’re not alone. You have so many friends here who are more than willing to make sure that she’s well adjusted.”
“Thanks, Kat.”
“Anytime Cole, you okay now?”
“Yeah, I’m good,” Colby noticed as your figure emerged from the sliding door. “I gotta go Kat, I think I see her.”
“No problem, see you later!”
“Most Def.” Colby hung up the phone as you began running to him. His smile widened as he pulled you into a hug.
“God, it’s so good to see you Colebear,” you spoke into his shoulder as you continued your embrace. You heard him groan at the nickname causing you to smile.
“I’ve always hated that nickname,” Colby told you while pulling away from the hug.
“Yeah well deal with it because you’re stuck with me now,” you replied while sticking your tongue out at him. He shoved you playfully and you gave him a shocked look.
“Now that’s just rude!”
“Yeah well deal with it because you’re stuck with me now,” Colby mimicked causing you to laugh before you got in the car. “Seriously though, I’m not stuck with you. I just gained a roommate I’m excited to have.”
“Thanks Colby, I was worried you wouldn’t want me to be with you.”
“Never [Y/N/N].”
The car ride to the Colby’s apartment was spent in silence. You had run out of things to say and Colby was letting his mind wander again. You weren’t really sure how to feel yet. A part of you was excited to be with Colby and to be in California but the other part of you also felt awkward. When Colby had left to California your relationship wasn’t the same. The two of you had spoken multiple times but they were always brief conversations. Of course you adored him, he was your older brother, but you also felt abandoned by him. He left you behind and he didn’t seem to regret that.
When the two of you reached his apartment, you took a deep breath, allowing yourself to relax and just be in the moment. You had hoped that this could be a new start for the two of you. Hopefully a way to rebuild that brother and sister bond the two of you used to share.
“Look [Y/N], all my friends are there, they’re kind of excited to meet you,” Colby informed you both walked to his apartment door.
“Is Sam going to be there?” He looked at you and laughed.
“Of course Sam is going to be there, why wouldn’t he be?”
“Well I don’t know,” you nervously chuckled.
Colby unlocked the door and immediately your ears filled with cheers. You slightly cringed, not expecting the noise.
“[Y/N]! It’s been so long,” Sam yelled while running to you. He pulled you into a hug and spun you around making you squeal.
“Sammy!” He put you down as you continued talking, “I missed you so much! I missed both of you so much. You know you’re like an older brother to me.”
“I missed you too, [Y/N/N/].”
A blue haired girl appeared at his side causing you to smile.
“Hi, I’m Katrina,” you held out your hand to shake it but she pulled you into a hug.
“I want a hug too!” You heard two other girls yell. One was short with blonde and black hair, the other girl was an average height with long black hair. They were both gorgeous beyond belief. The two of them pulled you into a hug and you looked toward Colby for help. You could see him stifling a laugh and shot him a glare.
“Okay guys, let her get settled before you begin to attack her with love,” Colby remarked. The two let you go and introduced themselves.
“I’m Devyn!”
“I’m Tara!”
“Hi…”
“And I’m going to guide her to her room,” Colby said pushing you away from everyone else in the room. “I’ll formally introduce her in a second!”
“So this room is for you, I’m sorry about the mural, we can paint over it.”
“I don’t even want to know why and how,” you joked. You noticed that Colby really took his time to make sure that this felt like home to you. He got a flower framed bed, with purple bed sheets, there was a purple carpet and a white marbled desk.
“Devyn and Kat, helped me pick out this stuff for you. I really didn’t know what I was doing but I wanted you to feel welcomed here.”
You could feel yourself tearing up but you didn’t want to show it in front of Colby. He was trying and that’s all you ever wanted since he had left.
“Look [Y/N], I know that I abandoned you back in Kansas. But I’m here now, and I want things to be okay between us,” you wiped your eyes before turning to look at him.
“Colby, If I had no choice but to come here would you have ever bothered fixing our relationship?” He stood quiet for a moment, giving you the answer you needed. “I thought so.”
“[Y/N] I-”
“It’s fine Colby, we don’t need to be the picture perfect family. But don’t pretend like you’re doing this out of the kindness of your heart because you’re not.”
You walked out of the room and headed toward the living area where everyone else was. You appearance made everyone cheer again causing you to laugh.
“Hi everyone, I didn’t finish meeting all of you. So names, please?”
“Alright, alright, alright. Here I go,” an emo boy with painted nails and a beanie said standing up.
“I am Jake Webber, for all your humorous inquiries please come and see me,” he said, giving a little bow.
“He’s not as funny as he thinks he is, don’t listen to him. I’m Kevin,” the dark skinned boy said.
“Anyone who has to tell me they’re funny is obviously not funny but thanks for the information Kev,” you stated causing everyone to laugh.
“Oh, you’re going to fit right in,” Katrina said and you bowed. Aryia began to introduce himself as Colby stepped out of the room. His eyes looked red as if he had been crying. You felt slightly guilty but you had spoke your mind and that wasn’t something you had done in a long time. You needed Colby to see how hurt you were. Things weren’t going to be immediately perfect just because he wanted them to be. You needed him there and he wasn’t. Mike was the last one to introduce himself and it made you feel like you could really belong here.
“I think we should go out for dinner,” Devyn suggested. A chorus of yes’ filled your ears.
“We could take sightseeing tonight as well!” Kat yelled.
“There’s plenty of time to take me sightseeing, I’m here for good guys.”
“To food then!” Jake yelled and you shook your head in amusement. After plenty of ideas and a lot of yelling it was decided that the group would go to the boardwalk and find food to eat there.
The ride to the boardwalk was awkward. You, Colby, Kevin, Aryia and Mike were in one car and everyone else had their own cars. The boys cracked jokes the entire time as you stared out the window.
“YeeHaw [Y/N], how are you liking LA so far?” Kevin asked causing you to chuckle.
“Well I haven’t seen much but the airport and Colby’s apartment so I gotta say, it’s pretty dirty here.”
“HEY!” Colby yelled and the boys laughed.
“Wow your little sister just owned your ass,” Aryia informed him.
“How does it feel to be the lesser liked Brock now?” Mike asked.
“I’ve always been more liked than Colby, pros of being the cutest,” you stated causing the guys to laugh.
You continued to stare out the window until you arrived at the boardwalk. You could see Jake and Sam parking their cars a few spaces away from Colby.
“Wassup brothers!” You heard Jake yell while running toward you. He jumped on top of Colby knocking him down, causing you to laugh.
“Jake!” Colby yelled
“Sorry brother,” Jake replied.
“So what’s the eating situation going to be for tonight?” Sam asked.
“Honestly, I could go for Japadog,” Mike answered.
“Japadog?” You questioned.
“Japanese styled hot dogs, m’dear,” Mike replied while placing his arm around you.
“Hands off my sister Mike or you’ll live up to your name,” Colby demanded.
“Chill Brock, it’s only only brotherly love,” Mike joked while ruffling your hair. You swatted his hand away causing Aryia to laugh.
“Looks like someone’s fitting in perfectly!” Kat sing-songed.
“Are we getting Japadog or what?” Kevin asked.
“To Japadog!” Jake yelled putting his arm in the air and running straight ahead.
“He needs to be on a leash,” Tara teased causing everyone to laugh.
You stood quiet as everyone began to get into their own conversations, slowly lagging behind. California was so beautiful. Everything about it was mesmerizing. The people, the views, the architecture, the water, the sounds and especially the weather. You could have found yourself living there for the rest of your life. It kind of felt surreal, as if you would pinch yourself and it was all going to disappear right before your eyes.
You continued looking at everything you could, taking it all in before a hand on your shoulder distracted you. You looked up to see the face of someone you didn’t recognize.
“Take your hand off me,” you demanded.
“It’s alright beautiful, just want to know your name sweetheart,” he smiled at you. You attempted to pull your arm away but he only gripped harder. You turned your head to yell for Colby but you couldn’t even see him anymore. You could feel heart racing.
Suddenly the guy was pulled from your arm and on the ground. Colby was about to punch him when you grabbed him arm. The last thing you needed was to try and bail Colby out of jail.
“Keep your fucking hands off her,” you heard Colby state through gritted teeth. The guy looked up at him and smirked.
“You don’t scare me. You’re like the size of a toothpick, what are you going to do about it?”
“He may not scare you but we sure could,” Aryia said appearing at your side with the rest of the guys.
“Touch our sister again and you’ll be in the hospital instead of in the ground,” Jake threatened. You looked at Jake and pouted. You were “their sister,” and you hadn’t even been there a full day yet. The guys had really taken a liking towards you and that made you feel eternally grateful.
The guy scrambled to his feet and took off in the opposite direction of the boardwalk.
“Are you okay?” Sam asked grabbing your face into his palms.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m good. He just scared me, that’s all.”
“We’re never leaving your side again, okay?” he told you pulling you into hug.
“Yeah, okay.”
You placed your head into his neck and let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding in. Sam rubbed your back to calm your nerves and you were so grateful he did because you hadn’t realized how scared you were until the situation settled. Once you pulled away from him everyone else had decided to give you a hug as well.
“You guys go ahead, [Y/N] and I will meet you there,” Colby told the group and they nodded.
“I’m sorry, I should have been by your side,” He immediately said to you when everyone was out of ear shot.
“Colby it’s okay.”
“No [Y/N] it’s not. I should have been there for you now like how I wasn’t back home. I left without realizing the consequences and I don’t wan’t our relationship to continue to be damaged. You’re my sister, my best friend, my whole world and I promised to always be there for you and I wasn’t. This time I will be, this time I’m not going anywhere. It’s you and me forever and always.”
“I was angry at you for long so Colby but all I ever wanted was my brother and I’m sorry I held onto that grudge but I’m so happy I have you now. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here with you and your friends and creating with my brother who I love so much.”
“From now on, we make it our priority to be brother and sister first. That’s my new promise to you [Y/N], you’ll always come first.”
“I promise too, all we have is us,” you pulled him into a hug and he gave you a kiss on the forehead. This was all you ever wanted, your brother back.
“Now let’s go get food cause I’m starving!”

But Not Like That (Colby Brock Imagine)
_________________________
“Renegade, renegade, renegade, renegade.”
“y/n!”
“Sorry Sam” you chuckled.
Tiktok has basically ruined your life. Not in a bad way, but not in a good way either.
“Are you doing one of those tiktok things again?” Colby asked coming over to you and hugging you from behind. You smiled.
“Would you like to be in one?” You said hoping he would say yes.
“Sure” he rolled his eyes and laughed.
You quickly ran out of his bedroom and onto the balcony of his apartment, pulling his arm with you. You tried your best not to trip over the moving boxes while running because they’re everywhere.
The boys are moving, one again, out of their apartments and into their own house. You still don’t know if Colby’s going to take you or not but you hope he does.
“Why are we out here?”
“Because, we need good lighting.” You said while picking the Candy song so you and Colby can do the dance.
Colby smiled while he admired how beautiful you are in the light. I mean, you were still very pretty without good lighting, but this lighting really brought out your sky blue eyes. Just like Colby’s.
“Are you going to teach me or...” Colby said
“You just try to keep up with me” you say winking at him, making him blush just a little.
First, you started with the shoulders move. Then you threw it back..on Colby. His face was a tomato.
He always thought of you like the innocent girl or the tamed, if that made sense. But when you threw it back, he looked almost surprised, but amazed at the same time.
When you finished the dance you looked at Colby and saw how red his face got. “I- I didn’t know you could dance like that” he said embarrassed by his red face.
“what do you mean? You always see me dance to tiktoks though?” You said, knowing what you are doing.
“I know.. but not like that”
You laughed. Colby pulled you on his chest, blocking the wind from your face.
“I love you, Y/n”
“I love you too Colbs.”

Coachella
Requested: Nope, I was just once again bored in class.
Summary: Colby, you and his friends go to coachella. Just a bunch of fluff.
Warnings: There shouldn’t be. Maybe a few curse words.
Masterlist
Your Pov:
Music filled the air. The bass so loud that I could feel the vibrations through my sandled covered feet as I walked through the dusty field.
“This is amazing!” I exclaimed out loud to my friends that surrounded me.
A hand squeezed mine in agreement.
“I agree babe. This is the best idea you've had so far.”
I turned my head to look at Colby.
“Well that’s just hurtful.” I replied back to him, placing my left hand over my heart to make it look like I was offended.
He pursed his lips together holding back a laugh.
“You know I’m just kidding baby.”
Lips were pressed against the right side of my head.
“No he’s not.” Jake replied from behind the two of his. “He’s just saying sorry now so he can get in your pants later on.”
A slap was heard. Someone hit his chest, hard.
“Oh my god babe. Do you have to make everything so dirty?” Taras voice filled the air. Annoyance was evident.
Jake laughed.
“Of course I do, that’s my specialty.”
I scoffed at this.
“Yeah, and your other specialty is being annoying.”
The group laughed when I said that.
“Ooohh you just got roasted Jakey.” Sam said from his position next me. “Good one Y/N.” He then followed up with giving me a high five.
“You guys are so mean!”
We all just laughed again.
“It can’t be mean if it’s the truth.” Colby said while turning his head over his shoulder to look at him.
“Ouch, roasted again Jake. Here, do you need some ice for those burns?” Corey chimed in while pretending to give Jake a bag full of ice.
Jake stomped his foot on the ground.
“That’s it. Tara and I are leaving. We’ll catch up with you guys later tonight if you aren’t mean anymore.” He told all of us while pulling Tara to a halt and turning the other way with her.
Sam laughed but nodded anyway.
“Sounds good bro, just text one of us.”
Once they were gone we all continued to walk. We were currently on our way to go see Bazzi’s set. Then after that we were going to Billie Eilish, and we were going to end the night with Ariana Grande.
“I’m so excited.” I said to Colby once we finally found a spot in the sea of people that were waiting for him to go on.
Colby looked at me. Head turned to the left to see my face since I had my back pressed up against his chest.
“Who are you most excited for?”
I thought about it for a moment.
“Hmmmm. I would say Billie. I’m in love with her right now.”
He rolled his eyes.
“Should have figured that since you play her new album like 24/7.”
I shrugged my shoulders and turned around so I was facing the stage.
“I can’t help that she’s just that good.”
His chest vibrated against my back.
“You're not wrong there baby.”
About halfway through Bazzi’s set Colby and I decided to leave early so we could get a good spot for Billie.
“Guys were gonna go get a good spot for Billie. Meet you guys there?” I yelled over to Corey, Devyn, Sam and Kat.
They nodded.
Colby grabbed my hand  and started to lead us out of the sea of people.
“Wow, I never realized how intense it was in there.” I said once we both finally made it to an open area in the desert.
“Just imagine how it’s gonna be for Ariana or Billie.”
My eyes widened in realization. There was gonna be so many people.
As if Colby could since my nervousness growing he squeezed my sweaty hand tighter, if that was even possible.
We continued our walk through the scorching deserts. Every once in a while we would get stopped by either fans wanting a picture or just our friends that wanted to talk with us. It took us about 20 minutes but we finally made it to Billie’s stage. We ended up with a pretty good spot too. Right in the middle.
“On a scale of 1 to 10 how excited are you? 10 being the highest.” Colby asked while waiting. We still had about a good 30 minutes till she came on.
“I would say about an 11.”
He laughed.
“That’s not even an option babe.”
I smiled at him while leaning in to give him a quick peck.
“I know, I’m just that excited.”
He nodded.
He was about to respond when a quite ring sounded from his back pocket. It was probably the others wondering where we were.
“YO!” Colby answered.
“Yeah, were over by Billie’s set.”
There was a pause.
“We found a spot right in the middle of all the people. Haha good luck finding us.”
He paused again, waiting for whoever was on the other end to respond.
“Okay, sounds good brother. See ya then.”
Once the phone was put away I asked him who it was.
“It was Sam. Him and the others were wondering where we were. I also guess they found Jake and Tara so they’ll be here for Billie’s set as well.”
I jumped up and down in excitement.
“Yay! More people to dance with!”
Colby laughed at my childishness.
“Your so cute.”
We continued to talk up until the others had somehow found us in the sea of people.
“I have no clue how you guys even found us. I mean there’s tons of people here!” I exclaimed to Kat once she was next to me.
She shook her head.
“I have no clue either. I honestly think Sam and Colby just have this telepathic thing were the just communicate with each other. Because this happens every time we play hide n seek too. They always end up finding each other.”
We continued to talk about stupid things until the lights went dark, if that was even possible since it was already dark outside. Bright lights appeared on the stage and a flash of blue hair was seen. The crowd roared with excitement. The beat to “Bad Guy” filled the arena and suddenly everybody was dancing and having a good time. And that’s how the rest of my night went. I danced away all my troubled and worries with my boyfriend and best friends by my side. Life couldn’t get any better than this.
Authors note: Hope you enjoyed! I wrote this become all my Instagram feed is just pictures of people at coachella and this idea just came to mind.

the witches forest ✧ colby brock ✧ 31doh 22
prompt: day 22, “I don’t think it’s a good idea to be walking these woods late at night.”
pairing: colby brock x fem!reader
summary: you can’t believe your boyfriend was stupid enough to run off into the dark and dangerous woods.
word count: 1,087
warning(s): colby gets lost in the forest, some swearing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You weren’t sure how you got here.
Well, actually, that’s a lie. Some time ago, you agreed to be in a video with your boyfriend, Colby, and his friend Sam to investigate the Millennium Biltmore, alongside your other friends Corey and Jake. When Sam and Colby returned to the Biltmore to investigate the presidential suite, it only made sense that the three of you joined as well. That spiraled into you being brought in for their trip to Griffith Park, the Mission Inn, and the Stanley. So, yeah, you knew exactly how you ended up here, but that didn’t mean you liked it in the slightest.
While investigating the Stanley, the five of you had met this girl named Jennifer. She was a bit odd, but then again, so were all of you. You had to a bit odd to make it in your respective industries—YouTube for the five of you and acting for her. She joined you guys for part of the investigation, offering some insight about the hotel and its hauntings. When it came time for you guys to return to LA, she surprised you with information about a cabin that her grandfather owned. Apparently it, and the surrounding forest, were incredibly haunted. And, always in the mood for an adventure, Sam and Colby said they’d consider the offer, but you already knew they were going to agree to go investigate.
Corey initially bailed on the trip. He was always wary of going to haunted locations because of his own experiences with the paranormal. It was understandable, of course. The mysterious Shadowman seemed to always be following poor Corey around, forever tormenting him. Though, you’d all be lying if you said you weren’t overjoyed when Corey called as Colby was driving out of LA to the cabin that he was in if they’d let him.
So, the quintet was complete.
You all first stopped at the house of a witch. She was an old friend of Jennifer’s, and Sam and Colby wanted to talk to her before camping out in the woods and eventually going to the cabin. While you were there, she did a tarot card reading that made you slightly nervous for the night in the woods, but the way Colby squeezed your hand under the table made you feel like everything was going to be okay.
It wasn’t until nightfall that the nerves came back with full force. You all had already set up camp, pitching a tent not too far from the road but far enough that you could experience the full creepiness of the woods. Strange things kept happening, and you couldn’t help but feel like the night was only going to get worse.
It reached the point of the night that you were going to do the fire ritual, which was supposed to release unwanted energies and attachments. As you each cast in your personal objects and the names of the spirits you believed to be haunting you, Colby jumped back, practically throwing himself out of his seat.
“Babe, what the hell?” you gasped, rising from your seat.
“LOOK! LOOK!” he shouted, pointing into the woods.
“What?” Sam asked.
“There was a shadow over there!”
“No there wasn’t!” Corey shouted, fear wavering in his voice. “No there fucking wasn’t, bro!”
“It just went across…in the background right behind Jake! Guys, I swear to God!”
“Okay, okay, let’s go,” Corey said. “Yo, let’s leave!”
“Are we good?” Jake asked.
“Let’s leave!” Corey repeated.
“Did you not see that?” Colby asked, his eyes desperate.
“Where?” Jake asked as Sam said, “No.”
“There was nothing there, baby,” you said gently.
“IT WAS RIGHT BEHIND JAKE!” Colby insisted.
Sam looked to you, then back to Colby. “I think you’re fucking with me.”
“No, I swear! Why would I fuck with you? There’s no reason for me to do that! Dude, it was…it literally ran across! This is our time to capture it! Come on!”
“No, no, no, no,” Corey disagreed.
Sam and Jake were now standing, Jake asking for a flashlight as Sam grabbed his backpack.
“No, guys,” Corey said. “Guys! I don’t want to go.”
“We need someone to stay and watch the fire anyways, so just…” Colby suggested
“I’m not staying by myself!” Corey argued.
The boys began to argue about chasing whatever Colby saw when you shouted for all of them be quiet for a moment. You gently touched Corey’s arm. “I’ll stay with you, bub.” You looked to the other three. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to be walking these woods late at night.”
“Just stay here if you’re scared,” Colby reiterated.
Colby began walking off into the woods on his own, forcing Jake and Sam to follow them. You returned to your seat, looking into the fire. “I don’t like them going off on their own like that.”
Corey nodded. “They’re fucking idiots. They don’t know what’s out there!”
“And they just yelled at you for walking off when you got that phone call,” you muttered. “Should take their own fucking advice before they get themselves killed.”
For several minutes, you and Corey grumbled to each other about how stupid your friends were. But behind that facade of anger, you knew that the two of you were deeply concerned about the boys’ safety and wellbeing. They all had a tendency to dive headfirst into danger, consequences be damned. But goddammit, they were really going to get themselves killed one day doing this shit.
The worry only bubbled more when Sam and Jake came back without Colby. They explained what happened, but you felt like your ears had been stuffed with cotton. Colby was…missing? In the dark and dangerous woods? Lost in the dark and dangerous woods just after seeing a shadow person? Colby was lost in the dark and dangerous woods just after seeing a shadow person and none of you knew how to find him? God, you wished you had all just stayed at home. Or that you’d run off after him. At least, if you were lost with him, you’d be together.
But then, you saw him emerge from the fog, and you could hear him panting as though he’d run a marathon.
“Colby!” you shouted, running towards him. You threw your arms around him, burying your head in his chest, sniffling.
He kissed the top of your head. “Hey, it’s okay, I’m okay. I promise.”
“Don’t you ever fucking run off like that again.”
“I won’t, baby, I promise.”

It has been a few weeks since Colby and Y/N got together and life couldn’t be better. Sam and Katrina are still the only ones who know. Only because it has been easy to hide from Jake, Corey, and Devyn since they were all back in their hometowns for a while.
They have been sleeping in Y/N’s room because Colby’s room is the hottest room in the house. Colby likes to say it's the hottest room in the house because it’s his room. But Y/N doesn’t feed into his ego, that often.
Their relationship still had no label according to Y/N. Their relationship mostly consisted of flirting, sex, same old banter, dates, and more sex. They were enjoying having fun and simply exploring each other’s feelings. Yet Y/N wanted to be his girlfriend, she wanted the title and all the flirting and sex. She didn’t want to ask him to be his girlfriend, she wanted him to ask her.
The two laid out on the beanbags in the garage filming room, her legs sprailed out over his lap. His hands were slowly going up and down her leg, while he continued to edit a video on his laptop. She was doing the same for a video on her channel. They laid together in silence.
There have been times in their lives where they have been inseparable. Mostly when they were teenagers, a short period before she started dating Mike. Yet none of those times were like how they were now. Their bodies always had to be touching, whether that was a hand, or each other’s laps. It didn’t matter, their bodies always had to be in contact.
He leaned his head back against the yellow bean bag before tilting his gaze towards her. She lifted her gaze from her laptop, pulling her earbud from her ear. Her cheeks flushed when she met his bright eyes. “Corey, Devyn, and Jake are all coming home this weekend, are we going to tell them or let them figure it out?” he asked, shifting his gaze towards her thighs. He began to draw shapes against her skin. She licked her lips as she ran her fingers through her hair.
She raised her eyebrows while smirking, “Let them figure out what?” she questioned, her tone was laced with sarcasm. He rolled his eyes while he slowly started to smile.
“About us, Tink,” he chuckled while he shut his computer screen, silently praying the video’s progress was saved. She shook her head slightly while turning her nose upwards. His mouth dropped open, his tongue poking the side of his mouth while he stared towards her.
“What about us, Colby?” She placed her laptop to the side of her bean bag. She leaned her body against her elbows as she kept eye contact with him. He squeezed her thigh multiple times as he laughed nervously.
“That you are my gi-girlfriend,” he whispered, her eyes lit up as her smile widened. She pulled her legs from his lap. She moved to the edge of her bean bag, getting herself closer to him. She knew what he said and she heard the words from his lips but her heartbeat was all she understood.
“I’m going to need you to say that one more time, please,” she whispered. He rolled his eyes while he sat up, leaning his body towards her. He rested his hand behind her on the bean bag, leaning his face towards hers. He licked his lips while he lowered his gaze towards her lips. He tilted his head to whisper into her ear.
“That you are my girlfriend,” he let out barely above a whisper. His breath sent shivers down her spine as she watched him slowly look into her eyes.
“When did you decide I was your girlfriend?” she mumbled while she reached her hand up to rest it onto his cheek, moving her hand gently to the base of his neck. He shrugged while pressing his lips together.
“I can’t believe The Colby Brock is my boyfriend,” she teased, biting her bottom lip. He rolled his eyes dramatically while tilting his head back slightly.
“Shut it, you,” he whispered while he kissed her.
~~~
They laid facing each other sweaty and hearts still beating rapidly. His hair stuck to his forehead. Her hair tied back away from her face. He reaches across and cups her face in his hand while he runs his thumb across her cheek. “So beautiful,” he whispers as he inches closer to her face, bumping his nose with hers. Her lips turned upwards slightly. She raises her hand delicately to brush the small strands of hair away from his forehead. Her fingertips grazed his skin before she ran her fingers through his head slowly.
Her gaze meets his dilated blue ones. She watches them squint slightly as he smiles. “What’s going on up here?” she whispers as she softly taps the side of his head. A small chuckle leaves his lips.
“You know I haven’t told my mom about us yet, I don’t even know how,” his voice was breathy as he continued to run his thumb across her cheekbone.
“She would be happy we are together right?” she asked. His eyes widened as he nodded his head several times, “Then text her a photo of us and tell her we are dating, it shouldn’t be that serious.”
“Oh baby, it’s serious. She’s basically been planning our wedding with your mom since forever,” he chuckled. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly.
“I already told my mom a few days ago, what if she already knows?” she questioned. Colby’s eyes widened as he lifted his head from the bed. His phone starts ringing beside him as he jumps slightly. She sat up holding the blanket to her chest while Colby reached over and took a hold of his phone.
He holds the phone towards her to show that it was his mom calling to FaceTime. His eyes widened as he fixed his hair quickly. She stood up from the bed and scrambled to get her clothes on. “What are you doing?” he yelled through a whisper.
“I’m letting you deal with this alone,” she told him while she jumped into her shorts. She pulled her hair out of her hoodie as she walked out of Colby’s room. Once the door was shut he sighed as he answered the call. He forced a closed lip smile as his stomach started to ache.
“Hey mom,” he blinked rapidly. She stared towards the phone expectantly.
“How long have you and Y/N been dating?” she questioned while she raised her eyebrows. He opened his mouth to try to speak but he didn’t know what to say. “She’s basically been the love of your life and you can’t even tell your mother.”
He clenched his jaw while he ran his hand over his mouth, “I was going to tell you, but after we had been together for a little bit. I didn’t want to jinx anything if I told you and Dad.”
She softly smiled as she adjusted her glasses and looked towards her son through the phone. “There was nothing to jinx honey, you two were destined to be together.” Colby stayed silent on his end of the phone as he tried to process the words his mother said. Destined to be together.
The conversation continued for a few minutes while Colby vaguely explained what happened between him and Y/N. Keeping many important details out because his mother didn’t need to hear those parts. He ended the call and tossed his phone down on the bed as he walked towards the door. He walked down the hall towards Y/N’s room, glancing towards the bottom floor of the house.
Sam and Kat’s voices were ringing throughout the house, he nodded to himself before he stopped at her door. He raised his hand and knocked. She called for him to come inside. She was sitting at her desk scrolling through twitter. “Hey beautiful,” he let out while he shut the door and locked it. She turned her head towards him smiling.
“Hey handsome,” she whispered as she stood up from the chair, “what did your mom say?” His eyes widened while he chuckled. His head dropped as he explained what she said. During the conversation they moved towards the bed and they were sitting beside each other.
“Now we're like the real deal, my parents approve and everything,” he teases.
“Oh thank god,” she shoots back while she slowly climbs on top of him, straddling him. She rests her hands on the base of his neck as he rests his hands onto her hips, tightening his grip. Leaning down she pressed her lips against his softly.
Cause I’ve already made…
Y/n’s Pov:
After a few minutes, Amanda is the first to move as she takes a step back and the rest of us look up. Sam stands behind me as Colby stands off to the side with the camera on us. Amanda steps back a little ways from us as Stas moves next to Sam now.
“I just put protection over y/n, Stas and Kat. Nothing is allowed to touch you, nothing is allowed to come near you,” she promises us as she explains to the camera what she’d just done before pausing.
“You might see things-” Amanda starts again before Stas speaks up, cutting her off as one of the bells makes a small chime sound.
“Dude it’s just- I can’t. That freaked me out,” Stas comments as she reaches out to the bell.
“That I can’t stop,” Amanda finishes as Sam holds up another bell.
“Someone’s gotta go upstairs and put some up there,” he comments, holding a bell out.
“I’ll do it,” Amanda adds as she reaches for the bell from Sam.
“Someone’s gotta help you, though,” Sam tells her and everyone looks around for a moment.
“I mean he’s got a point. You can’t do the entire upstairs alone. I’ll come with you,” Colby speaks up as he reaches out to grab some bells from Sam.
“What about y/n?” Sam asks as he hands him the bells.
“I can go with them. Just have to stay with Colby,” I inform and Colby turns, smiling at me.
“That’s a good idea, babe,” Colby agrees with me and I smile softly at him.
“Ok. Then let’s go,” Amanda agrees before heading towards the stairs.
Colby looks at me as if questioning if I’m ready and I hesitantly nod. He smiles softly at me before grabbing my hand and I give him a confused look. He keeps a calm smile on his face as he gently puts my hand on his back, right next to his back belt loop.
I smile in understanding as I loop my finger through the loop. He grins this time before leaning back a bit to kiss my cheek.
“Come on. Let’s go babe,” he comments as he starts to walk and I smile softly before following him in the direction Amanda had gone.
We meet up with her next to the stairs and she goes up a few of them as we stop at the bottom. She turns to us, holding her bell out.
“We've got the duty of going upstairs,” Colby comments humorously and he smiles.
“How did we get so lucky?” Amanda jokes back, making both me and Colby laugh.
“I know. The most haunted spot,” Colby comments back and I feel a shiver go down my neck as we start the rest of the way up the stairs.
We make it up the stairs and decide to split up and go separate ways. Colby and I go and hang some on one side of the upstairs as Amanda goes the other way. Once we’re done, Colby checks in on me and smiles once I tell him I’m doing ok.
When he knows I’m fine, we decide to meet up with Amanda in the middle. We walk up to her as she hangs her last bell on the door handle on the outside of the small hall to the birthing room.
“There’s something in that back room,” she informs us as we come up next to her.
“I just watched it,” she finishes as she continues to tie the string to the door.
Once she’s done, she stands straight and walks back into the room. Colby and I follow her as she grabs another bell from the bed.
“I haven’t told Stas yet or you, y/n, I told you guys before we even came here when I was giving you a low down on the spirits,” she explains to us while playing with the string in her hand as she looks at Colby, who gives a small ‘yeah,’ in conformation.
“They disguise themselves as children and pets,” Amanda continues explaining and Colby agrees, repeating ‘that they disguise themselves,’ in awe as he remembers what she’d said.
“That’s why she goes ‘I just saw the little boy,’ and I let her know that was not a-” Amanda explains but pauses and Colby interjects.
“That was not a little boy,” Colby adds in shock and Amanda closes her eyes for a moment before opening them again.
“Was not a little boy,” she repeats in confirmation of what Colby said.
“So when we first came there were two children I told you about, right?” she asks and Colby nods as she takes a step back, beginning to play with the string in her hand.
“Right. Right. They were happy, right? They were like, trying to like, play games?” Colby asks for confirmation and Amanda gets happy as she explains farther.
“Yeah. One of them was shy. The little girl was shy, but the boy, he kept like, peeking his head around the corner like…” she describes as she motions what she’s trying to explain.
“Like, are you gonna come chase me?” she continues to explain and Colby nods in agreement, giving a very audible ‘yeah.’
“So I think it’s insane that when the negative thing came through it disguised himself as a little boy,” Amanda tells us with an expression full of awe.
“And Stas, as scared as she was, would feel more comfortable with it because I told her about the little boy here,” Amanda explains as she points to herself.
“Manda?” I ask, moving around Colby and hugging on his arm.
“Yeah? What’s up, y/n?” she asks me, giving Colby and I a small smile.
“Do you think Stas’s little boy could be the one taking interest in me?” I ask and she gasps as her face lights up.
“That’s a very real possibility. Did you feel sick or anything when she said she’d seen him?” she asks and I take a moment to think it over.
“Well, now that you mention it, no, but me and Colby were connected then. He was cuddled up to me behind the camera,” I explain and she nods vigorously.
“I think you might have a point. It could have been him trying to get to you,” she agrees, nodding.
“The little girl could possibly have been the lady that was pointing at you earlier too,” she explains and my face falls.
“So he can change forms, great,” I roll my eyes and Colby rubs my arm lightly.
“I’m right here. He can’t hurt you while I’m here and Amanda put a protection over you, but I get it if you want to leave. I’ll take you home right now,” Colby tells me but I sigh, shaking my head.
“No. You’re right. He can’t hurt me. I’ll be okay,” I promise him with a nod and he smiles softly.
“Okay, but at any point if you want to leave, just tell me,” he informs me and I nod.
“I promise I will,” I tell him softly before reaching up on my tip-toes to leave a kiss on his cheek.
“Ok. Let’s finish putting these up, then we can go back to the rest of the group,” Amanda comments before moving away to start hanging the last few bells.
We hang a few more and I stay with Colby the whole time. He walks over to the closet and pulls it open.
“Oh my God,” he exclaims as he looks into it.
“What?” Me and Amanda ask in unison.
“This closet is huge. It goes like, all the way around. It’s like a secret crawl space area,” Colby says in shock as he looks into the deep closet.
“This house has-” Amanda starts, but pauses to listen. “Did you hear that in there?” she asks after a moment, making Colby turn around.
“No. What was that? I missed it,” Colby comments before going quiet so we can all listen.
“Can you hear the walking?” Amanda asks as she looks up at us and I nod while Colby gives out a very audible ’yeah’.
“That’s the exact room that when we walked up here I told you something was back there,” Amanda tells us in amazement and I shiver lightly.
“I don’t like that…” I speak out and Colby nods before reaching down for my hand.
He squeezes my hand softly as we all stay quiet for a moment. When we clearly can’t hear the sound anymore, Colby stands straight and starts to look around again. I follow him over to the bedside table and together we look at what’s on it.
“They got a bunch of things that little kids would like to play with here, too. Like toy cars, jellybeans?” Colby comments as he lets go of my hand for a moment to pick the car up before smacking the pack of jelly beans. The car then starts to roll back off the table, but Colby quickly catches it before setting it back down.
“Babe. Don’t do that, what if the spirits like, get mad at you for messing with their stuff,” I lightly admonish him as I slap his arm and he chuckles.
“It’s not like I took them. Just gave them a small little tap,” he replies and I shake my head, rolling my eyes.
“Oh, put the car on the ground,” Amanda speaks up as she turns to us.
“Ok,” Colby agrees as he picks it back up and together we both turn around.
“Let’s find out,” Colby comments as he steps back to watch it with the camera.
We watch the car for a moment but nothing happens, so Colby bends down and scoops it up off the floor with a quick ‘alright,’. He walks back over to the table and sets it back down before turning to me and offering his hand. Colby, Amanda, and I start walking though towards the stairs.
“Woah. Woah. Wait. Amanda, do you mind talking about some more details about ghosts real quick?” he asks and she smiles, nodding.
“Of course,” she sweetly answers and Colby grins.
“Sweet. Ok, ah… sweetheart, do you mind holding the camera for me?” Colby asks and I smile softly at him before nodding and holding my hand out to him.
“Thanks, babe,” he tells me after handing it off to me and kissing my cheek.
“Ok… the number one question people wanna know is like, what do these spirits or entities or demons whatever you see look like?” Colby asks her as he claps his hands together.
“Are they happy, are they expressionless, is it as clear as, like, a person that you're seeing?” Colby asks, using his hands to animate his words.
“It doesn’t look like a person, but it’ll be as clear as like, if you were just standing there dressed in all black,” she explains, motioning with her head where she means.
“I grew up with a spirit in my home and I-” she starts to say before pausing and turning along with Colby when there’s a thump in the back of the room.
We all pause and listen for a moment. The sound soon becomes distinct and we can tell it’s the others of our group.
“Oh god, they're coming upstairs,” Colby breathes out in relief as we hear their distinctive footsteps and voices now.
“Geez, we’re literally talking about demons and that happens, not down,” Amanda comments as Colby lets out a big puff of air.
“The demon I grew up with in my house… looks like a person most of the time. He was much, much taller, much, much thinner and he had red eyes,” Amanda continues to explain just as Sam walks into the room and she looks over at him.
“I saw a spirit when I was with you and you asked me to describe it,” Amanda adds on and Colby nods as Sam walks farther into the room.
“Yeah. At the Lizzy Borden house,” he clarifies as he nods and so does she.
“It was extremely tall, probably seven feet tall, very, very thin. Like unhumanly thin,” she tells us before pausing to look at Sam.
“Are we ready to head to the seance room?” Sam asks and we all nod.
“Here. I can take the camera and set it up,” Sam tells me as he comes over and takes it from me.
He then walks back over to the stairs and starts to head down so he can set it up. I walk over to Colby and he smiles softly at me as he reaches his hand out to me. I grin and grab onto his hand. He gently pulls me along as we follow the others back down the stairs.
Once we’re in the seance room, we all sit down and Colby sits down first, gently pulling me onto his lap for a moment and cuddles me.
“You doing okay?” he mumbles into my ear as he leaves a light kiss on my neck.
“Yeah. I’m fine. I’ve been absolutely fine the whole time you’ve been with me,” I whisper back to him and I feel him smile against my neck.
“Good. I love you,” he mumbles back and I smile, squeezing his hand that sits on my stomach.
“I love you, too, nugget. Always,” I reply and he nuzzles into my shoulder.
“Okay. I think we’re ready. Enough canoodling, you two,” Sam jokes as he playfully rolls his eyes, making Colby and I laugh.
“Okay. Okay. Can we please get this started?” Stas asks and Colby groans.
“Fine,” Colby groans out as he lets go of me so I can get off his lap.
“Don’t worry, babe. I’ll be right here next to you the whole time. Wanna hold hands?” I ask as I take the spot right next to him and hold my hand out to him.
“How well do you know me? Of course I wanna hold hands,” Colby quips as he grabs my hand and I giggle as we hide them behind ourselves.
Kat laughs as she sits down next to me on my left and Stas sits to her left and they grab each other's hands. Sam sits down to Colby’s right and Amanda sits in the chair to the right of Sam with her headphones in her hand along with a notebook.
“Okay, are we ready to start?” Sam asks and we all nod.
“Okay, then. We are in the seance room,” Sam explains for the camera, “Where Ed Lorraine Warren performed a seance on Carolyn and she literally levitated.”
“She is going to wear noise canceling headphones on a spirit box,” Sam points to Amanda before pointing to his own ear. “Basically letting us know whatever she hears. We’re gonna be asking questions, kinda as we were saying we have ping pong balls, bells all over the place, the entire house.”
“Upstairs as well,” Colby adds, pointing up before grabbing my hand behind our backs again.
“So if we hear anything happening, we’ll be able to catch it,” Sam continues while Colby rubs my hand a bit and I have to hold myself back from cuddling more into him.
“Starting this recording, see if we catch any evps,” Sam states as he holds the device he’s using out for the camera to see before he sets it on the ground.
“It just said Borden,” Amanda speaks just as Sam sits back.
“Borden?” Colby questions, his eyes widening ever so slightly as Sam quickly looks at him with his hand over his lips.
“We just said that they were very similar cases,” Sam comments in shock as he looks at Colby, who agrees.
“Okay. We’re going to turn on this other spirit box, put it right here just in case we get things on it as well,” Sam explains to the camera as he holds the device up and out to the camera.
“Okay. Should we start asking questions?” Colby asks Sam, who nods.
“Yeah, let’s start,” Colby agrees and Sam nods.
“Okay. Ah, is there any spirit here that wants to talk to us?” Sam asks out into the air and we all stay quiet as we wait.
Colby turns and looks up at a corner behind me. I squeeze his hand and he squeezes mine. We stay quiet for a little more and I push the feeling of cuddling up to his side away.
“Can you please, like move something?” Sam again asks into the air and it’s quiet for a moment.
“Not Colby,” Amanda almost yells out as Sam looks at Colby, shocked.
“Isn’t that silly?” Sam asks as he points at the device on the floor.
“Kill,” comes an ominous voice from the device and Colby’s mouth falls open, as does mine. He turns to the camera before looking at me.
“Wait… Wait… Wait. Did that just say what I think it did?” I ask and Colby slowly nods to confirm my question.
“Are you a bad spirit?” Sam asks and it goes quiet again.
“Kill Colby?” Colby questions and I shake my head.
“That’s what it sounded like…” I tell him as I tighten my hold on his hand.
“All only here,” Amanda speaks and we all listen as carefully as we can.
“Is there anything here that can give us a sign at all? We have bells around this entire house. If you can, just make them ring. We want to talk to you,” Colby calls out and we all pause.
Some time passes and it just stays quiet. I continue to keep Colby’s hand tightly gripped in mine.
“I don’t like this…” I whisper into his ear and he nods in agreement.
“It’s okay. I’m right here,” Colby replies back as he rubs my hand and it again goes quiet for a while.
“There’s someone here with us,” Amanda informs us as Sam sets the device he had in his hand down on the ground.
“Can you make yourself known if you're here with us?” Sam questions and then there’s a faint shuffle sound.
Colby looks up in shock, first he looks at me, then he turns to Sam, who looks back at him with the same amount of shock. Katrina holds the phone, but after giving me a look she leans back a bit and lays the phone on her thigh. She grabs my hand and holds it like she holds Stas’s. She squeezes my hand and it helps my worry only slightly.
“Woah, what was that?” Colby asks as he looks at Sam again.
“There was a huge crack,” Sam comments as he and Colby turn away from looking at each other.
“It sounded like a shuffle almost,” Colby comments. “Was that you that just made that noise?” he goes on to ask and I squeeze his hand again.
“Yes,” comes Amanda’s voice and Colby jumps.
“Yes?” Sam asks Amanda and she nods at him as Stas lets out an “oh,” while bringing her hand up to her lips.
“Can you make a noise closer to us? We’d love for you to come sit with us,” Sam asks the spirit, making us give each other worried looks. Amanda shakes her head no and rubs her chest.
“Um… no… no,” Kat tells him, shaking her head at him. “Sam, we can’t do that,” Kat continues to tell him while still shaking her head and he just lightly grins.
“Sam, let’s not do that, unless you want to switch spots with me right now,” Stas informs him in a very matter of fact tone and suddenly the sick feeling I’ve had throughout the day comes back.
“Y/n is literally shaking after that, Sam, no,” Kat sternly comments as both her and Colby rub my hands.
“I’m okay. Just had a small bout of that sick feeling,” I inform them and Colby shakes his head.
“Sam, I second not inviting the spirit. If it’s gonna affect y/n, we don’t do it,” Colby sternly agrees with Kat and I shake my head.
“Colby. Hon, I’m okay. Honestly,” I inform him, squeezing his hand for more reassurance.
“Yo, is my chest red?” Amanda cuts in to ask as she scratches at her chest. “It felt like something just scratched me,” Amanda tells us.
“No. It doesn’t look red,” Kat replies, shaking her head.
“Ok. That scratch just felt like something is mad,” Amanda adds in and the chill of sickness comes back ever so slightly, but goes away as quickly.
“We know you’re in this room with us. Can you show yourself?” Colby asks as he rubs at his chin with his other hand and both Kat and I quickly look at him.
“Babe, why are you asking it to show itself? No,” I tell him, shaking my head before it goes quiet again and Colby lightly rubs my lower back.
“I’m here,” Amanda calls out and the sick feeling comes back for the millionth time, except this time it stays even though Colby still holds my hand.
“He’s here,” Amanda continues to say what she hears.
“Who’s here?” I ask, looking at Colby and growing a little more scared as the sick feeling slowly intensifies.
Colby shrugs as it goes quiet and stays that way. After a while of nothing coming through, Sam decides to switch places with Amanda. Colby picks up the device Sam had put on the ground, then scoots down to the end of the couch and I scoot after him.
“Alright, Sam’s trying this now. Do we have somebody-” Colby starts as he looks around, but the voice from the device cuts him off.
“News,” the device’s voice speaks out and Colby turns back to look at the device in his hand.
“News?” Colby repeats it in confusion.
“News?” Stas asks and Colby repeats it, nodding.
“Did you have any news for us?” Stas asks softly and Colby scratches his forehead.
“Is there news that you want to tell us?” Colby asks.
“No, there was a hanging in the barn. A noose,” Amanda cuts in and another chill runs down my back.
“Noose. Interesting," Colby comments as Stas hums. The sick feeling continues to get worse and worse, but for some reason I can’t get any words out.
“Just ask,” Sam speaks as he holds a hand over his right earphone.
“Were you the person that got hung here?” Stas asks as I try to open my mouth and talk, but my tongue feels heavy and my mouth just won’t move.
“Help,” Sam again speaks out what he hears.
“Are you the spirit that tormented the Perron family?” Amanda asks. “No one ask another question for a moment,” Amanda informs us and we all stay quiet.
“God,” Sam says out loud and now I try to squeeze Colby’s hand to tell him how I’m feeling, but it’s like I’m just frozen and can’t.
“Don’t ask anything else. Wait,” Amanda adds in and again everyone is silent.
“Not here,” Sam again says what he heard.
“Who are you?” Amanda asks. “Are you the demon that tormented the Perron family?” Amanda again asks, only this time a little more sternly.
We wait for a few minutes with no response coming from Sam. Finally the sick feeling seems to just wash away and I’m confused.
“Possible,” Sam says, making me stop to listen and forget about it. “Freedom,” he continues to tell us what he hears.
“Are you- are you- can you not leave? Are you trapped here?” Amanda asks as she tries to figure it all out.
“Do you need to escape?” Colby asks as he looks over at Amanda.
“Modern gate,” Sam says and Amanda seems to get involved more now.
“Is there-” Amanda starts to ask, but then Sam says, “Limits,” repeating what he hears.
“Is there some kind of gate or limit and reason you're not allowed to leave this home?” Amanda continues her question and we all pause.
“Though,” Colby reads the word on his device out loud.
“Are you trying-” Colby starts to ask something, but gets cut off by Sam saying “Found me”.
“I was literally just about to say I feel like we connected-” Amanda starts, but Sam cuts her off again with “Coat.”
“There was a guy right over here,” Amanda explains as she points over to her left. “He looks like a soldier.”
“Really? Like the story of the seven soldiers?” Colby asks as Stas hums.
“He looks like one of the three that I saw walking outside. He’s in like, like-” Amanda tries to explain, but Sam cuts her off with a “Believe.”
“Believe?” Colby questions as Amanda gives a look of confusion.
“He’s in light colored clothes,” Amanda explains with a look of worry.
“Hello, Protect,” Sam again says now and we all look at each other with even more confusion.
“Why would he say protect? Protect what?” I finally find my words again and Colby squeezes my hand.
“I don’t know, but I was literally about to say, he wants to talk to us,” Amanda adds as we all look at each other.
“Focus,” Sam speaks out again.
“We need to believe and focus more?” Colby guesses as he sighs, rubbing his face.
“Do you remember the Perron family?” Colby asks and it goes quiet for another moment as Colby sits with his hand on his closed eye.
“Be with me,” Sam says what he’d heard and again the sick feeling creeps up.
“We’re here?” Colby says, confused before it falls silent again for a good while.
“Underground,” Sam eventually speaks out.
“Underground…” Colby repeats under his breath.
“Basement,” Colby adds in realization.
“Do you wanna-” Amanda starts to ask, but Sam cuts her off, saying “Stuck.”
“Are you stuck in the basement? Do you want us to go down in the basement?” Amanda asks, but again there’s no response as we wait a while.
“Please,” Sam finally speaks up.
“What’s in the basement?” Amanda asks and after she does, there’s a knock that sounds off.
“Heaven,” Sam says and soon it goes quiet again.
We wait about a minute before Sam pulls the headphones off and gives Colby an incredulous look.
“Whoa,” Colby comments as he lets out a breath.
“What happened?” Sam asks after he sees Colby’s reaction.
“We think there’s a soldier here that is just saying that he wants us to be with him and like that he’s been trying to escape this sort of hell and find heaven, but he can’t,” Colby explains and Sam nods understandably.
“Also when we said, like, ‘do you want us to go to the basement’, you said please,” Stas chimes in and helps explain what happened to Sam.
“I wrote down some things. I wrote ‘not ever out’ and ‘protect’. Those are the things that stuck out most,” Amanda informs Sam as she clicks her pen and reads over the words.
“It was really difficult to hear when you guys weren’t asking questions,” Sam informs us as he looks away for a moment then back.
“Yeah, when we were all quiet, we just tried to be quiet for a couple times, you would never say anything,” Colby explains as he points at Sam.
“Weird!” Sam explains as his eyes widen.
“Yeah! That- that’s weird,” Stas agrees in a shocked tone.
“I didn’t even think about that,” Amanda adds into the conversation.
“True… yeah,” Kat says, nodding and smiling a little.
“What the f***?” Sam questions in astonishment.
“Anyone else wanna try to see what we’ll get?” Sam asks as he looks between all of us.
“I think I will,” Colby speaks up and he goes to get up after Sam nods.
“Colby. I don’t know. Something feels off,” I tell him as I hold onto his arm.
“It’ll be okay, babe, I’m sure it’s just nerves,” Colby replies before he leaves a kiss on my cheek.
I sigh, shaking my head as he gets up, switching places with Sam. As soon as he leaves, the sick feeling comes crashing down on me tenfold. I try to call out to tell them, but like before my tongue feels like dead weight in my mouth. I watch helplessly as he sits there with the headphones over his ears and Sam holds the device. Tears form in my water line, but for some reason I can’t actually shed any.
mornings [ colby brock ]
summary: she and colby have a chill morning in the trap house.
warnings: just fluff, fem!reader
———
PART OF HIM LIKED THE SILENCE IN THE MORNINGS, the peace that resonated in the room. he liked being by himself, but as he looked over at the sleeping woman next to him, he realized that she was one of the only people he never got tired of.
with the blackout curtains over his windows, colby brock’s room was almost pitch black, even though it was 10:30 in the morning. he found himself being awake earlier than usual, his eyes staring up at the ceiling. after a moment, he allowed his eyes to shift down to the figure next to him, watching as her body rose and fall with every breath she took; she appeared to still be asleep.
30 minutes later, colby being on his phone, y/n l/n stirred next to him. she ran her hands down her face as she awoke, turning over to face colby.
“surprised to see you awake,” she whispered, stretching. she let out a satisfied groan as she felt the bones in her body pop and her muscles stretch out. colby looked over at her and smiled, putting his phone down.
“honestly, me too,” he chuckled. y/n looked up at him, her eyes bright with admiration. she scooted closer to him and wrapped her arms around his torso.
“i don’t deserve you, ya know,” y/n hummed as she melted into his body. colby drew circles on her bare shoulders with his fingers, taking in her comment. in his mind, it was the opposite: he didn’t deserve her.
“how’s that?” he asked, looking down at the top of her head. she shrugged her shoulders, causing a genuine smile to form onto colby’s face. his heart fluttered still, sending a warm feeling down his spine.
“you deal with all of my quirks, my messes, my failures and triumphs,” she started, keeping her eyes ahead of her. “you could have any girl in the world, and you chose regular ol’ me.” she was halfway joking, but there was still a sting in her chest when she said that.
colby didn’t know what to think at first. ever since he met y/n he thought she deserved more than him. he swore he had sounded stupid when he first talked to her, and if he did, it didn’t scare her away.
“and you could have any man in the world, and you chose me,” he finally countered, causing y/n to look up at him.
“guess that means we’re perfect for each other,” she grinned as she snuggled closer into colby’s side. he chuckled and kissed the top of her head, his heart filling up with joy. he was so lucky, and he was so thankful for someone like her. someone that understood him, and based on what y/n confessed, she thought the same thing about him.
“i guess so,”
———
ahhhhh this is soft and i loved it. i do apologize for how short it is; i will write a long one eventually haha. i had an angsty one i was working on but i decided that i wanted to give a soft, simple one for right now. i hope you guys enjoy and requests are open for any members of the traphouse! thank you so so much for your support!
The Deal
12. Awkward Discussions
It was getting pretty late and some of our friends were starting to leave pizza night, which turned into everyone leaving pizza night.
I was standing in the kitchen talking to Kat when Colby came up to me. "Hey, it's already almost 2am, I'm gonna head back to my place."
I look at him and nod. "Okay, give me a second and I'll be ready to go." He nods back and heads back over to Sam. I give Kat a goodbye hug and go to get my shoes and purse.
Colby walked back over to me after talking to Sam. "Ready?" He asked. I nod and we head for the door, waving goodbye to our remaining friends.
We took the short walk back to Colby's apartment. As soon as we walked in the door I saw my stuff and remembered I still had to finish editing my video. "Aww shit," I said, throwing my purse onto the counter and staring at my laptop. Colby looks at me confused. "I have to finish editing my video," I groan.
He shakes his head. "We both don't have much left to do. Why don't we just finish in the morning? We've been working all day, lets relax and put on a movie."
I nod, agreeing with him. "I guess you're right. But if I'm relaxing I need to be comfortable because my clothes aren't comfortable, and if I go home to change then I'm staying home and going to bed. So I guess goodnight then." I begin to pick up my things, but Colby stops me.
"Wait!" I look at him confused. "I mean, you could just wear some of my clothes," he says shyly. I nod and set my stuff back on the counter. "Okay, I'll be right back." Colby heads off to his room and I sit on the couch and wait.
Why would Colby want me to stay? It doesn't make any sense. Some days he can barely stand me, but others he can't be without me. And that kiss! Everything happened so fast I didn't even get a chance to reflect on it because we were so invested in making it believable. What the hell was that? I get he was doing it for show, but it definitely didn't feel like it.
"Here's some clothes," Colby says, walking out of his room and handing me some clothes.
"Thanks," I say standing up and taking them. "I'm just gonna go change real quick." He nods. Why was everything so awkward all of a sudden? Maybe it was the fact that our friends know we're 'together'. I have no idea, but whatever it was it needed to stop.
I quickly changed into one of Colby's merch t-shirts and a pair of his joggers, sinching the waist as tight as they will go due to the size difference. I folded my clothes neatly and brought them out of the bathroom with me and setting them on the counter next to my other things.
Colby was sitting on the couch in similar lounging clothes, scrolling through his phone. He lifted his head up when he saw me walk out. "It's already pretty late, I figured we could just watch some TV or something for a little bit," Colby suggested.
I nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good." I sat on the couch next to Colby and grabbed the blanket from behind my head. I laid it across my legs and Colby grabbed a little bit for himself. Colby had started flipping through TV shows when he finally landed on some ghost show.
We both sat there watching TV silently when Colby spoke up. "Hey, um, what did you mean when you told Tara 'we were hanging out a lot and old feelings came back'?"
He looked at me and I looked back at him. That is not what I thought he was going to say when he opened his mouth. "Oh, that's what my sister said to me when I had to tell her we were dating earlier. Don't worry it's not true, I don't have feelings for you."
"Right," He said, fake laughing ad turning back to the TV.
Speaking on the subject, now was the perfect time to ask about the kiss. "Um," I started out nervously. "While we're on the same subject, that... uh, second kiss was just for show right? You weren't kissing me like that because you wanted to."
"No, no," he stutters. "It was all for show. To make Kevin shut up and to make it really believable. I still don't think Sam believes it 100 percent."
"I don't think so either. I don't think Kat is 100 percent either, but she definitely believes it more than Sam."
He nods at me. "We just have to make sure they don't find out. I think it would be a little difficult to figure out our situation because it's not that common, but we still need to be careful."
I nod in agreement and pull the blanket up around my arms. In the process, I yank some of the blanket from Colby's body. He looks at me and yells, "Hey!" Then pulls the blanket off of me and all the way onto him.
"Dude! Get your own blanket!" I yell and pull the blanket all the way back on to me.
"That is my blanket!"
"I'm in your house, I didn't realize I was supposed to bring my own."
He squints his eyes at me, "Touche." I laugh and throw him the end of the blanket. He takes it and I immediately stick my cold feet under his legs. He looks at me when I do that.
"You fell right into my trap," I smile. I lay my head on the pillow that is on the couch and watch the ghosts on TV until I eventually fell asleep.
I stare out the window and watch the various palm trees pass me by. LA is so different from Germany. Hotter too, not by much, but enough to notice. I was overseas in a base in Germany for a little over a year. The last time I was in the States, I went straight home to Kansas to spend time with my parents. I didn’t even get to spend time with Colby. I got called out last minute before he got home. I only got to spend time with my parents and Gage. No offense to them, they’re my family and they’re great, I just closest to my baby brother. Every time I applied for leave in the past few months, I would tell Colby and get denied. This time, I decided that I would surprise him so I wouldn’t get his hopes up.
Sam picked me up from the airport. Over the past few years, I’ve become friends with all of Colby’s friends. His friend group is like a small family, they’re welcoming and actually fun to be around. No disrespect to my actual family, but they can be a bit much. So when I got approved for long-term leave, I decided that I would spend all five out of my six months in LA. I already spent a month with my parents, and luckily, they never said anything to Colby. As far as he’s concerned, I’m still on the other side of the world.
“So, do you remember the plan?” Sam asks, turning down the radio.
“Yes, sir! Colby is out doing with Kevin and Aryia. That gives us time to get to your house, hang out with everyone else, and find a place for me to hide. Then, you guys are going to film a hide and seek video, where Colby is going to be the seeker. The goal is to have me be the last one found so he’s thrown for a loop. We’ve been talking about this for days, Sam. I got this.” I ruffle the younger boy’s hair and continue to stare out the window.
****
Not to be a bitch, but Colby is fucking slow. I waited in the backyard for nearly an hour before Sam came to get me. Honestly, if I knew how long it would have taken Colby to find everyone else, I would have gone out to eat or something. Everyone hid in easy to find places too, but I guess with the blindfold, everything is 10 times harder.
“I think you guys are messing with me. What the fuck do you mean there’s one more person? Whose left? Who am I missing?” I hear Colby outside his room. I’m pretty sure everyone has given up and just led him to the general vicinity of my hiding place. Which is his closet, the worst place that I could think of to hide. I also saw the handcuffs on his bedpost. I don’t even want to think about what he’s using those for. I guess my baby brother isn’t much of a baby anymore.
“Just look. We’re giving you a hint by giving you the room but you’re on your own, brother. Hurry up, we’re hungry.” Jake says, louder now.
“Are we in my room? I thought we said bedrooms were off-limits?” Colby whines.
“Will you shut up and just go already?” Someone screams.
I sit on the floor and watch Colby stumble around his room. I’m sure he’s done so drunk hundreds of times, but for some reason, he’s struggling. I watch him bump into his bed for the 5th time, nearly falling. Everyone is standing outside his room trying not to laugh.
“Oh my God, just check the fucking closet bro!” Kevin yells, finally having enough. Honestly, I’m glad someone said it, I was ready to just jump out at him myself.
Colby makes his way to the closet and starts waving the nerf gun around. He walks forward a bit too closely and accidentally kicks me hard. I don’t make a peep but that shit hurts. Colby freezes for a second before pointing the nerf gun to my face. I quickly cover my face in time to protect what would have been a gnarly eyeshot.
“Alright, you got me!” I shout standing up. Colby freezes again before ripping off his blindfold.
“Holy shit!” Colby drops the nerf gun and jumps into my arms.
“Hey baby bro, missed me?” I laugh. He’s latched onto me like a baby koala like he’s done since we were little.
“What are you doing here? I thought you weren’t coming back until next year.” Colby mumbles, squeezing me tighter.
“Surprise? You’re stuck with me for a whole five months though.” Colby finally climbs down and I can see tears in his eyes. I know I’ve been here for a few hours and I spent the last few minutes watching my brother bump into every piece of furniture in his room, but after getting to hold him in my arms after all this time, I couldn’t help but let a few tears fall.
“Alright, now that both of the Brock siblings are in tears, I think it’s time to end the video here,” Sam says as he enters the room with a camera.
“Wait, so the hide and seek was bullshit?” Colby asks as he wipes his face.
“I’m honestly concerned about your brain. I knew I dropped you, but I didn’t think it would do lasting damage.” I joke, ruffling Colby’s hair.
I’m just glad to be home with my people. I get to mess around with everyone for the next five months, and that’s all I could have asked for.
your point of view
i was talking to the girls, they explained some of the rules around here but apparently i’ll get to know all the rules with the devil himself. “you know, i refuse to believe that someone who is the devil has such an innocent name, colby, who would be afraid of that?” the girls laughed, giggling loudly, “no seriously! i always figured it would be lucifer.”
“nah, only in the bible.” kat shrugged off, “colby’s actual name is cole. but he hates being called that, i don’t know why tho.”
“yeah he never really told us the reason behind that, did he?” devyn asked rhetorically, katrina and tara nodding their heads.
“cole, maybe i’ll say that to piss him off.” i wriggled my eyebrows, smirking a little. “hey do you guys have any food, i’m so hungry.”
“uh duh, come on, follow me.” tara said, both of us getting up from our spot. i followed her as she said, “okay so we have many options, what would you like to have?”
“uhhh, holy shit you weren’t lying when you said there’s a variety.” i breathed out a small chuckle as she giggled. “i’ll have the..” i couldn’t choose, “shit, i don’t know.” i laughed.
tara laughed with me, “here, have these,” she grabbed a pack of chips, ‘hellfire potato chips’ very ironic. “they’re my favourite.” she threw them towards me, i caught it swiftly, nodding.
“the name of it sure sounds convincing.” she laughed yet again. “you go back to the girls, i’ll catch up to you. i’m gonna grab a drink,” she nodded, smiling before leaving. i was looking at the ingredients on the chip packet while walking towards the fridge, accidentally knocking into someone. “shit sorr- oh. it’s you.” i saw colby directly in front of me, shrugging him off.
“isn’t that the most polite way to greet someone.” he sarcastically stated, huffing. “what are you doing?”
“getting food, what does it look like?” i opened the fridge and bent down as i looked for drinks. i could practically feel his eyes staring at my ass. “stop staring, jackass.” i grabbed a can of beer before standing up straight, “you know,” i opened the can as i continued to speak, “i thought you people in hell don’t get hungry.”
“obviously we get hungry,” colby folded his arms, giving me an evil eye, “did you fail in history or something?” i rolled my eyes, taking a sip of the beer.
“history’s a joke. they never teach you what the truth actually is. they just add in positive information to make it sound like the world isn’t a horrible place.” i cocked my eyebrow, my statement definitely catching him off guard.
“wow, you’re actually smart?” he teased, “i didn’t figure you as the common sense type.”
“there’s a lot you don’t know about me-“ i started walking away, stopping for a second, “-cole.” i smirked as i said that, walking off before he could say anything.
i was suddenly startled by the girls squealing at my face, “that was so badass, holy shit.” katrina yelped.
“how did you not stutter once!” devyn continued on,
“girlll, that was firey hot.” tara finished off, i laughed as they all rambled. i shrugged,
“she must’ve learned from the best,” i furrowed my eyebrows, turning my head to see brennen. “sup, princess.” the girls all groaned, huffing. my face shriveled up into a cringe.
“don’t call me princess, i’m nobody’s princess.” i spat out, eating a chip. brennen smirked,
“you shouldn’t be talking to envy like that, sweetheart, you have no idea what i’m capable of.” he huskily spoke, the girls shivered in disgust before sitting back down, “plus,” he ran his hand up and down my arm, “what’s the worst that can happen if you got with m-“
i kicked him in the balls as hard as i could before he could even have the chance to finish. he groaned loudly, falling to his knees as he held his crotch in pain. “damn!” “ouch-” “holy shit that looked like it hurt.” sam, jake and corey called out right after the douche fell to the floor.
“what the fuck is happening over here?” colby walked out, his deep voice intimidating everyone but me. “what the-”
“colby, you might want to control your fucking girl before i-” before brennen could finish, i kneed him in the jaw, causing him to groan in pain.
“listen here, asshat,” i grabbed brennen by the collar, “i’m nobody’s fucking girl. stop speaking to me like that or i will crush your balls with my bare hands.” everyone laughed and ooed as soon as i finished.
“shiiiiit, i think you’re the only chick that i’m afraid of other than tara.” jake chuckled out, i folded my arms,
“who you calling chick?” honestly, i only said that to scare him. and it seemed to work.
“alright, that’s enough of that.” colby huffed out, burning his eyes into mine. i stared at him just as intensely. he shut his eyes and rose his eyebrows before opening them again, “she has an attitude,” he looked at sam, who was smirking at colby, “fast learner, i see.”
“is anyone going to help me?!” brennen groaned out in pain, we laughed, i brought my hand out for him to grab. he hesitantly grabbed it, i pulled him up. “thanks. you’re fucking crazy.”
“crazy is my middle name.” the girls all giggled, cheering me on as i smirked evilly. where the fuck is this sudden attitude coming from, i still don’t understand.
“anyways, move along, everyone.” colby grit out, sending everyone away, “girls, do you mind if i speak to y/n alone?” the girls nodded before leaving, winking at  me. i looked at them weird before turning back around, gasping in surprise when i saw him standing directly in front of me.
“can you not do that every time i turn around?” i sassily remarked, continuing to eat my chips. tara wasn’t lying, they were good. he rolled his eyes,
“listen here, princess,” i clenched my jaw when he called me princess, he definitely did that on purpose.
“stop calling me princess-” i angrily cut him off, suddenly i was pushed up against the wall, extremely roughly as he gripped my neck. i struggled to get out of his grasp.
“you may have had the guts to lay even a finger on brennen, but you need to realize the fact that i’m the fucking devil. you can’t hurt me even if you tried to. so watch your fucking mouth when you’re speaking to me.” his dark blue eyes boaring into mine, i looked up at him, since he was much taller than me.
“whatever, if you want to kill me just fucking do it,” i spat back, bringing my face even closer to his, to where i could feel his breath hitting my lips, “i have no will to continue living.” i whispered. he flared his nostrils in anger, tightening his grip around my neck a little.
“what are you doing to me, huh?” i didn’t even think it was possible, but he brought my face closer to his, the tip of our noses touching, my chest up against his. “who are you to make me feel like this?” his voice lowered even more, sounding slightly raspy sending shivers down my body.
“from what i’ve heard; i’m your queen to be.” he smirked slightly, i copied his expression.
“to be my queen, there’s a lot of consequences. i still think you’re too much of a coward to face those.” he teasingly whispered.
“is that so?” i rose my eyebrows, he hummed, i brought my mouth towards his ear, “challenge accepted.” i whispered hotly as i escaped his grasp. i walked backwards to see his face, a large grin over my lips. his tongue was pressed against his cheek to hide his smirk.
this should be fun.
