What makes me really sad is thinking about how the trolls, while still living in the troll tree, had to of tried so hard to normalize things. Trollstice, to me, had to be a thing for roughly 100-150 years at best so many trolls were used to this lifestyle and always made due with what they could. They lived with fear and uncertainty their entire lives without questioning it often. But what confuses me is the timeline we’re presented with for the 1st and 3rd movies, which has lead me to create my own timeline of course ❤️

Brozone happened because it was a good distraction, not only for the young band members but everyone else, too. Their breakup probably happened three years prior to the trolls’ escape. Rosiepuff most likely died a year prior to escape. Poppy was probably about 3 years old during the escape, while Branch was around 4(currently putting Branch at 24 years old, Poppy being 23). SO;

7 years before escape

—Brozone forms consisting of JD, Clay, Floyd, and Bruce

6 years before escape

—Brozone’s first official concert

—Branch is born

5 years before escape

—Brozone starts to gain more popularity in mainstream media; not yet at the height of their fame

4 years before escape

—Brozone is the number 1 boy band in the troll tree

—Branch joins the band

—Poppy is born

—A meeting to plan their escape is organized

3 years before escape

—First ever Brozone tree wide tour

—Brozone breaks up, the brothers split up; the band fades away into obscurity

—The tunnel plan officially begins

2 years before escape

—Branch joins Kismet with other young trolls around his age to cope

—The escape tunnel is nearly complete

1 year before escape

—Rosiepuff dies

—Branch turns gray

—Kismet breaks up

—The tunnel is finished, phase 2 in the plan begins in time for next Trollstice

Hi, it's me again!

The way I opened tumblr and you just slapped me in the face with your last cult leader! Branch post like DANG!!!?

Like, I kinda get it

Siblings relationships can be complicated, especially if there's a big age gap and they barely had time with him before Branch started creating his own personhood, it's almost like there's no affection outside of the barebones and "obligatory" familial love

I can see Floyd just lashing out and teen brain just said "before the baby we were ok, not GOOD but ok" especially since he was the youngest and then had to "stop being a child" so his emotions are mostly directed at the brother he hasn't have for a lot of time, at the "outsider"

JD I could see him being the type of person that compares how fast a kid develops to others or kinda forgets that a baby, a toddler and a teen react different to the same things

bigger families tend to do this "your brother did this better" "x could do it at your age" "it only took a few hrs for x to get it" "it's so easy! If x can do it so can you" totally ignoring the difference in age and personality. it might even fly over his head that Branch is actually developing faster than a lot of them at that age due to the expectations

Floyd’s perspective is very skewed because of his age and maturity, before branch came along he could pretend that everything was okay and as long as he stayed in line and did as Jd said everything would work out. But than branch happened and suddenly Floyd had a new responsibility, Floyd wasn’t the baby of the group anymore which meant all of John Dory’s micromanagement went towards branch.

And in some ways that was freeing and in others…, suddenly jd wasn’t just overbearing he was obsessive and Floyd did his best to take the brunt of jd’s behavior trying to shield branch from it. And although he tried his hardest to love branch and give him the affection he deserved he couldn’t just shake the resentment. Thinking ‘if branch never came along would they have been better off’ and all of it simmering just beneath the surface until the night of the band’s break up.

And John Dory…oh boy John Dory. Now obviously he wasn’t always this obsessed with the idea of perfection that’s something his parents instilled in him. And you’re right he does have trouble understanding that different ages react to things differently because when he was a child he was expected to know how to take care of himself and his brothers. So he thinks that they should know how to do that as well. It also doesn’t help jd that his parents never took the time to truly care for him, he basically raised himself until rosiepuff found him and a purple egg in an empty pod with no trace of their parents. Which will do serious damage on a child’s development and how he perceives the world.

Basically brozone’s parents suck and are the reasons everyone’s sad :) also everyone’s dynamic in my au is based off of something like brozone’s parents are inspired by the willoughbys parents! Branch and Floyd’s relationship is inspired on jinx and vi. And poppy, king Peppy, and vi relationship is inspired by adventure time’s relationships like Finn and Marvin, Marceline and hunson abedeer

History and 1st Movie notes about a fanfic idea I had

Instead of breaking up fully and leaving Brozone went on a break/hiatus that lasted till they got settled at the village

Rosiepuff still died but Branch didn’t turn grey because he had support

Brozone all grieved together and gave her a grave when they got to the village so it’s like she escaped with them

Viva still got separated but Clay didn’t (In the movie, I think that Clay went back but it was during the evacuation and he had no idea what was going on and got separated with Viva)

Every year on Rosiepuffs death day they all visit the grave together and tell her about what they’ve done that year

Branch goes to her grave whenever he has problems that he just wants to rant about

He told Rosiepuff about his crush on Poppy and later him dating Poppy before anyone else

JD is way less controlling to his brothers as he realised how his behaviour affected all of them including himself

JD used to go camping not majorly far from the village but then he met Rhonda and now goes to further away places

Bruce changed his name during Brozones hiatus as he thought Brozone was never coming back but got so used to it he kept it

When JD told Bruce about Vacay island he asked if he could come with next time and it was love at first sight with Brandy

Bruce mostly lives at Vacay island but goes back every month or so to visit for like a week

All the brothers go on excursions with JD

Clay has his sad book club still and Floyd plus Branch are in it

Brozone made their bunker together but unlike in canon it was build under a pod which has one room they use for guests

Floyd became a singer in his own right and opens for Brozone concerts

Branch still has an underlying fear of bergens and keeps it very much to himself

Brozone was performing at Poppys coronation and Chef showed up during one of their songs

Branch’s brothers were taken along with Poppy’s friends and Branch blames himself

I keep imagining a young Branch right after the Bergan escape, all the trolls helping each other escape while he’s all on his own. And then with “Once upon a time in New York City” from Oliver and Company playing… the ANGST. Branch watching as a mother helps her kid along…

The lyrics literally go “And now you’re on your ownnnnn” I just feel like it fits.

Thinking about baby Branch during the escape from Bergen Town is always heart-wrenching no matter how you look at it, I think.

He's just small, and gray, and alone in the panic to leave the only home he's ever known. The home that not only raised him but the home that will always haunt him. The home where his brothers laughed with each other and screamed at each other. The home where Grandma Rosiepuff tucked him in every night and the home where she died for him.

And no one is helping. Everyone is grabbing onto their friends and family, urging the people they care about through the tunnels and leaving him behind because no one cares about him. Why would they? He's gray, he's sad and angry, and he's a curse.

I love the idea of his turmoil and desperation to get out while everyone just overlooks him being accompanied by Oliver and Company. You're brilliant, Anon.
