LU Skull Kid "subtly" trying to tell Sehel that Twilight has the hots for him
@requiemofthespirit
Sehel would have recognized that bone mask anywhere.
"Eu!" he greeted, hand waving out of the water. "Timade, de!"
"Timada, da pa," replied the little wooden thing standing on the platform a short swim from the beach.
"Amu se munu curana pa," the Zora pointed out.
"Curanelu pa, qece se darsalu pa."
"Lu va, lu va. Ioi felohe de."
"Feloha da."
What a weird conversation, Sehel thought: "Mafe beilce ma darse?"
"Ghe."
"Ane beilce du?"
"Ce Link dacensu, se tao pulre de."
His semi-transparent crest shot upwards; he quickly flattened it back down on his head manually, with both hands, while half of his face instantly submerged to hide the burning grey blush spreading and completely overtaking his face.
"Dacensa ce baisuse vafu," Skull Kid added nonchalantly, laying on the floating wood, blissfully unaware of the Zora's embarassment.
"Amu i mozen asvata!" Sehel stopped them with a nervous iteration of his whirlpool-sounding laugh: "I perabaroe du, tvera pulra dacensuma ane baisuma vafu!"
"Perabaroe du pa," they argued back.
"Cochure, de! Lu ane ma, dua- afernua, dua!"
"Amu basuse vafu."
"Ane qece tao tarete de?"
"Ce darsu."
At that, the Zora briefly forgot to breathe.
"Darsu?" he repeated weakly.
Skull Kid nodded: "Darsu."
"... Ane rece darsu?"
"Varenti dosomu."
It wasn't necessarily a lie, because Twilight had indeed murmured Sehel's name once or twice during particularly deep sleep, wriggling as if to hold something tighter and spasming his lips very slightly, and most importantly because as much as he denied it he really did hold a very deep fondness for the young amphibian; but Skull Kid did not know that in the traditional forklore of Terminian Zoras sleeptalking was considered to be the most honest and genuine of expressions, as well as one of the rarest; and that clear messages especially - perfectly comprehensible in comparison to incoherent babbles or confusing riddles - were believed to hold the truest thoughts of a person.
Sehel looked back to shore, where most of the Hylians were minding their business. By fatal accident, Twilight noticed him, and smiled very brightly in his direction.
The Zora waved a little, desperately hoping he was far enough for his burning grey face not to be seen.
"Dacensa ce baselu dafe," Skull Kid commented, still oblivious to the whirlwind of emotions he was unleashing onto the poor scaled boy: "Masifiu du."
"... Pei dacenselu," Sehel wheezed.
Then he submerged into the deepest part of the bay, crest finally springing upwards and face completely grey with blush, and screamed into his hands, kicking at the water like a little girl who just got her prom invitation accepted.

FFXIV WRITE 2023 Prompt 9: Fair
(Character: Sunflower, A’tyla Tvera, Timeframe: Post-Endwalker)
A’tyla stretched in the chill morning Mor Dhona air. The fair haired Hyur pushed open her tent flap to be greeted by her charge already awake and getting the fire going. “Morning, A’tyla.” Arya cheerfully waved to her mentor as she carefully used her red magic to start the flames.
“Morning Arya.” A’tyla sits down by the fire, producing a pot to cook breakfast. “You seem to have gotten the hang of fire again. How does it feel?”
Arya nods as she pours some water into the pot from a bucket. “Its difficult still, but Master X’rhun’s blade is a great boon. I feel as in tune with my magic as before…” She shrugs, her face frowning slightly. “Even if it is more difficult to produce results.”
A’tyla smiled as she tousled Arya’s hair, to the younger’s chagrin. “Progress is still progress. You should be proud of what you’ve done.” A’tyla then focused on making their meal and the two red mages worked in silence. After the meal was had and their attire changed, they set off northward towards the Coerthan slopes once more.
This mission of theirs was a simple one, a courier job from Revenant’s Toll to Dragonhead. A’tyla had the package secure on her pack, her hands on her blade’s hilt for most of the journey. They had very minor trouble so far, mostly just wild creatures, so she was more on edge. Her luck dictated some sort of major upset at some point during their journey. She just didn’t know when.
Arya was much more cheerful, having spent the last time journeying up here in worry about the voidsent in her family line. She continuously pointed out interesting things, telling A’tyla that they should stop and paint on their way back. Arya wanted to paint now, it was clear to A’tyla, but she had a sense of duty that came with their job. A’tyla couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought.
Near the end of the day, A’tyla was proven right to have been worried once again. In the narrow pass near the central highlands, they were stopped by a band of almost a dozen bandits. Well armed bandits. Arya started to speak and negotiate, as she was the better talker of the two. A’tyla mostly tuned the conversation out, focusing on the other bandits than the leader. Soon enough, A’tyla realized that while the leader was keeping them occupied with words, the others were slowly surrounding the pair properly. A’tyla sighed, and reached into her pack for an old arcane hat. She placed it jauntily on her head, feeling its residual magic energy starting to connect with her own aetheric channels.
“Arya, duck.” A’tyla commanded as she formed the red mask from the hat with one hand, pulling out her blade with a flourish with the other, an arc of fire flying forward towards the leader over her student's dropped form. “Cover me, and take out the stragglers. Together we can make quick work of them.”
A barely heard “Got it!” came from Arya as the Red Masque leapt forward, blade shining with magical energy. The bandits panicked and scattered from her strikes, but they held firm and tried to overpower the red mage duo. A couple fled once they realized who A’tyla was, the famed mercenary turned Scion of the Seventh Dawn. But the rest held firm and were scattered by the magical might of the Red Masque. Fire toasting, wind buffeting, stone bruising and lightning shocking, the majority of the bandits fell to her magic. One was taken down by Arya, her own magical talents barely giving her an edge in the duel she had.
But only a scant minute later, all of the bandits were on the ground, groaning in pain, defeated. A’tyla removed the hat and mask, shoulders slumping forward with unseen exhaustion. Arya rushed up and picked her mentor up under her shoulder, the two continuing to head northward. “You have a snack packed, my dear student?” A’tyla’s weak smile was a cheerful one, even if she was overexerted.
“Of course, master!” Arya’s response was one of adrenaline cheerfulness, and as they walked she fished out the small dried food. “This should suffice until camp tonight, I would hope.”
“Yes, it will.” A’tyla take the fruits and gratefully, but slowly, ate them as the two trudged onward. “You did well in that combat. I saw you took one bandit down by yourself.”
“I did!” Arya was ecstatic. “It was exhilarating. I don’t hope we have another combat like that again for a bit. I think you pushed yourself too far.” Arya had an admonishing tone to this statement.
“Aye, I guess I did.” A’tyla absentmindedly answered, her eyes locked forward to the snowy mountains. If this was the bad luck she was expecting, she would be grateful. But a gnawing sensation in her stomach told her she might not be right. “The Observatorium is nearby, we should rest there before going to Camp Dragonhead.”
“Okay!” Arya continued to support her mentor until A’tyla regained enough of her strength. The two fair haired red mages made it to the Observatorium soon enough, and their rest in the tiny inn there was greatly appreciated. In the morning, they set off once more to Camp Dragonhead, hoping the worst of their trip was over…

The Secret of My Success Review
Okay, first of all, let me just say I went into this movie with some trepidation at first. I loved Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, and simply couldn’t see him in another role. That is, until I sat down and watched this movie.
Let’s start with the honest truth here: Michael J. Fox as Brantley Foster is fantastic. You’d think, after playing such a warm, awkward character in Back to the Future, he wouldn’t be able to pull off a character whose only intentions are to make it to the top. But he does so beautifully, with some warmth added in.
Tumblr media
The script is a lot of fun. It’s so much fun to see Brantley running around trying to keep his secret while holding down two jobs at once in the main company, while other fellow employees are trying to catch him red-handed. One of my facorite scenes in the whole movie is a chase through the office, as Brantley tries to apologize to his love interest and avoid said employee trying to catch him.
The script is so much fun, making the office life seem almost magical. (Let me tell you, it isn’t, and I’m speaking from experience.) Brantley is a character we can root for, and Fox carries the whole movie, even if there are other interesting, fun characters.
Tumblr media
I will say his love interest is a little stale in the movie. I just couldn’t really root for her, no matter how much I tried. But Aunt tVera is a lot of fun, even if she comes along strongly at times.
There are some awkward 80′s moments in the movies, like a sequence in a couple bedrooms that just lasts too long. But, besides this, it really is a well-written, well-acted movie, that I’ve been itching to watch again for awhile now.
Who knew office life could be portrayed as so much fun?
Tumblr media
And that ending! It is satisfying and a joy to watch. I won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it already, but it is definitely an ending to remember.
So, if you’re a Michael J. Fox fan, or a fan of 80′s movies, definitely give this one a watch. It’s become one of my favorite 80′s movies for sure. And maybe just one of my favorite movies too.

New Romantics (via twitter)
We say we want love / then break up
Maybe I'm a shit show, but I'm fun and kinda cute and willing affectionate
So take my hand we'll both stand inside a burning building
I could be your Anti-Hero and you could be my perfect villain / We'll go around chasing storms / Leave me cold then keep me warm / Fall in love then go to war / That's what new romance is for.

Wonderland (via twitter)
We danced down hallways, too in love to think straight / Screaming you're the king and I'm the queen
Colors I'd never seen twisting around me
Didn't I tell you don't listen to them?
I turned around to find you and you were nowhere to be found / There was screaming and lightning / And I haven't been back since I had to leave you there...

I loved you in secret // lights down low, no one has to know // I said, 'no one has to know what we do’ // what would you do if they never found us out? what would you do if we never made a sound? // no one knows about the words that we whisper // the words that you whispered for just us to know // I’m laughing with my lover, makin' forts under covers // privacy sign on the door and on my page and on the whole world. romance is not dead if you keep it just yours // the greatest of luxuries is your secrets // late in the night, the city's asleep, your love is a secret I'm hoping, dreaming, dying to keep
