Travel & Places - Kolar Gold Fields(KGF)
Distance:
63 miles from Bangalore
150 miles from Chennai(Madras)
68.35 miles from Vellore
PERSPECTIVE /RELATIVE BEAUTY
KGF as a mining town has a contemporary history of little over a hundred history. KGF sits at the top of the Deccan Plateau at an altitude of 800 to 900 meters from its nearby Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh plains. Mining started much before the British came.
After taking over from the East India Company in 1856 (during the First War of Independence), the British (Imperial Government) was interested in surveying the Indian terrain at the time they learned about KGF. According to mainstream media, the British only became interested in the folklore of the locals.
But the British now and then do not go simply by popular beliefs only. They research using scientific tools and then only start working on it. and clearly sticks to the plan with room for improvisation. Hence, only the British race by far is the most successful role of the homo sapiens. This KGF area is a very small industrialized area of about 2500 to 3000 hectares. KGF has 2 parts- a)Mining & Govt Estate Area b) Labourer quarters. 100 to 150 years back then mining was very much a laborer's work.
The British got a huge chunk of people from the nearby plains of North Arcot District (presently Chittoor, Nellore, Vellore, Thirapathur, Ranipet, Thiruvanamalai Districts of Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu.
combined with the famines of the 1900s world wars. the KGF employee's families enjoyed a lot of luxuries and privileges in comparison to their counterparts elsewhere in southern India.
This you can find with every KGFian all have a sense of privilege and talk with high emotion in almost every sentence. Because the past glory and gratitude to the KGF mines saved millions of lives from dying in the famine in the plains.
Enjoy the talks of the KGF citizens almost everyone will tell you stories with their own version of the mines.
The old-time KGF steamed with activity every day between 5 am and 8 pm with a lot of snack shops, soup, and tea stalls in action.
The mining area is dotted with Bungalows and Greenplaygrounds.
KGF shut its door circa 2000.

Get Ready for the Political Pulse: Modi's Tamil Nadu Surge & Kejriwal's Legal Battle
As we inch closer to Phase 1 of the Lok Sabha elections, the political arena is heating up with fervent campaigning and legal battles. Here's the latest scoop:
Tumblr media
Modi's Multi-State Moves: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making waves with his strategic campaign moves. On Tuesday, he kicks off his schedule with an electrifying election rally in Balaghat district, Madhya Pradesh, marking his second visit to the state in just three days. But that's not all – Modi's Tamil Nadu tour is also in full swing, emphasizing the critical Coimbatore constituency, which BJP eyes to secure this time. With a roadshow planned in Chennai, Modi aims to rally support for BJP candidates Tamilisai Soundararajan and Vinoj P Selvam in South and Central Chennai constituencies, respectively. His itinerary also includes public meetings in Vellore and Mettupalayam, rallying behind NDA allies' candidates. Coimbatore remains a focal point for Modi, reflecting the significance the BJP attaches to this region.
Legal Showdown: Kejriwal's Bail Plea: Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal finds himself entangled in a legal tussle. The Delhi High Court is set to deliver its verdict on Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Currently under judicial custody in Tihar jail, Kejriwal's fate hangs in the balance as the court's decision looms. His challenge extends beyond arrest to contesting the remand in the Enforcement Directorate's custody. The legal battle underscores the high stakes and intense scrutiny surrounding political figures, particularly during election season.
Nationwide Campaign Trail: As Modi and Kejriwal grab headlines, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is making his presence felt in Assam. Addressing a public meeting in Lakhimpur constituency, Shah lends his support to BJP incumbent MP Pradan Baruah, vying for a third consecutive term. The day doesn't end there – Shah gears up for a lively roadshow in Tinsukia town, boosting BJP candidate Sarbananda Sonowal's campaign in the Dibrugarh seat. The electoral landscape is alive with activity as parties vie for voter attention and allegiance.
As the countdown to the Lok Sabha elections continues, the political drama unfolds with each passing day. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis as the nation braces for a crucial electoral showdown.

Tirumala Tirupathi Introduction
More than 5,000 years ago, Lord Sri Venkateswara, also known as Srinivasa, Balaji, and Venkatachalapati, lived in Tirumala. Lord Varahaswami had already made Tirumala his home before him. Since then, a large number of devotees have persisted in building impressive entrances on the temple's walls throughout many centuries. There are 16.2 acres of land dedicated to the temple complex.
Location:
Tirumala Tirupati is located in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is situated in the Chittoor district, approximately 20 kilometers northwest of the city of Tirupati. The temple town of Tirumala is nestled amidst the scenic Eastern Ghats, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop for spiritual pursuits.
The exact geographical coordinates of Tirumala Tirupati are approximately 13.6288° N latitude and 79.4192° E longitude. With hot summers and mild winters, the area has a tropical climate. The surrounding landscape is characterized by lush greenery, rolling hills, and cascading waterfalls, creating a tranquil and natural environment for devotees visiting the sacred site.

There is no Railway station in Tirumala itself. Tirupati, which is located about 26 miles from Tirumala, is home to the closest railway station. With five platforms and an escalator, Tirupati Railway Station is a significant railway hub. It has good access to all of India's main cities.

About 15 miles from Tirupati, in the vicinity of Renigunta, is the closest airport to Tirumala. This domestic airport, which is now undergoing an upgrading to become an international airport, offers direct flights to Hyderabad, Visakapatnam, Chennai, New Delhi, and Bangalore.
On Foot:
To satisfy a commitment, many devotees hike up the hills to Tirumala. Two carefully constructed stone footpaths go to Tirumala. Sopanamargas are the names of these routes. At the base of the hills at Alipiri, the oldest of the two sopanamargas begins. This 11-kilometer pathway is the most used route and is long. The shorter of the two sopanamargas, Srivarimettu, is only around 6 kilometres long and begins in Chandragiri.
Restrooms, security, a canteen, drinking water, medical assistance, and piped religious music are all provided and maintained by TTD. In addition, TTD offers free luggage delivery services to devotees who choose to walk the hills to Tirumala.
Darshan Services at TTD
Sarvadarshanam
Every day, between 60,000 and 80,000 visitors go to the Sri Venkateswara Temple. To accommodate the large number of pilgrims travelling to Tirumala, TTD has established effective methods of darshan.
In the Vaikuntham Queue Complex II compartments, travellers can have free darshan as they wait their time to see the Lord. 'Darshan for all' is the meaning of the Sanskrit phrase sarvadarsanam. On various days of the week, Sarvadarsanam has varied times. For timings, please check to the weekly temple programme.
On average, Sarvadarsanam is open for roughly 18 hours per day, and on busy days, it is open for 20 hours.
This darshan can be accessed through the Vaikuntam Queue Complex. A network of interconnecting halls makes up the complex, which leads to the main temple. The main temple is reached by passing through the Queue Complex in an orderly fashion thanks to a well-organized queue system.
TTD offers a variety of amenities in the queue complex, including:
The waiting pilgrims receive Annaprasadam at no cost.
Every three hours, waiting pilgrims are given free access to milk, coffee, and tea.
There is also a free medical facility available.
> There are clean restrooms and RO water accessible.
> Closed-circuit television, which transmits religious programming and music.

TTD Prasadam, specifically the laddu, is an integral part of the divine experience at Tirumala Tirupati. Considered sacred and blessed, the laddu is offered as prasadam (sacred food) to devotees visiting the temple. Here's some information about TTD Prasadam, particularly the laddu:
The laddu is not just a sweet treat but holds immense spiritual significance. It is believed to be the prasadam of Lord Venkateswara, symbolizing his blessings and divine grace. Devotees consider it a privilege to receive and consume this prasad am, as it is believed to bring good fortune, prosperity, and fulfilment of desire.
