Every now and then, quite out of the blue, it occurs to me that my teenager is OSHA certified (for residential electric). It always gives me a chuckle. God bless the Center for Career and Tech Ed and specifically Mr. R, the immensely patient electrical teacher.

Had a dream that I was back at votech and Kent was an instructor there and in the hallway I was like "hiiii Mr Davison" and waved at him all flirty and stuff and apparently I was Nonia in the dream bc he said "Hey now, Miss Nonia" in a playful warning tone. Then I got in huge trouble bc god forbid an (adult) student can flirt with an (adult) instructor smh.

Now I'm imagining if I had actually been like that to hazcom dilf at votech irl ("hiiiii [redacted]" batting my eyelashes and waving shyly and he just gives me a smile and a peace sign like that one time) and I got introuble for it LOLLLL..in actuality when me and my friends in nursing school would talk about our crush on him our nursing instructors would get soooo disgusted it was hilarious

it’s astounding that “everyone tells you that you have to go to college and shits on the trades if they talk about them at all” is such a common talking point. this is so obviously a class thing. or at the very least, an “I somehow am able to walk around with my head frequently immersed in the sand” thing.

your mechanic’s dad was probably also a mechanic, and their kid is probably in votech for… take a wild guess.

strong encouragement to go to college and active discouragement of other paths is primarily an upper middle class and above thing. it’s not an everyone, everywhere thing.

Today was such a mess. We were late getting Whisper to her vet appointment for surgery. Then my breakfast did nothing for my hunger and I had to find something else to eat quickly in the middle of getting ready. Which meant I was late getting to the VoTech for my class.

Thankfully the guest instructor for today was also late, however, because of a scheduling error; he was technically scheduled for next week, which is actually supposed to be our class on Entomology (which I will be partially missing because I had to reschedule my Tubal Salpingectomy for that day ... Because I'm weird and didn't want to miss any of today's class on Vegetable Gardening since that's my main crop. Clearly we see how well that worked out, ha.

Once everything finally settled, though, the day went ok. We actually still got through all of his stuff. I learned a lot, but at the same time also didn't learn much? It was that weird middle ground where the teachers' interests / focus and mine didn't quite align correctly; he prefers cool season crops, I prefer warm; he didn't cover bush beans in the Legume section (despite covering pretty much everything else), which I predominantly grow.

He only covered Sweet Corn; etc- and when we asked about those things he admitted ignorance and lack of experience in those areas. Which is really lovely, and I'm glad he was honest with us about not knowing the answers for the questions we had ... But the result was that I didn't expand my knowledge on a lot of the things that I actually wanted to- though I did still expand my knowledge on a few things that I struggled with. Just not as much as hoped.

You win some, you lose some. It happens!

What was really sweet, though, is that I came home from class to find that my Husband has spent the whole day cleaning our basement apartment to make me feel better. I told him he really didn't have to do that because I'd planned on doing it all tomorrow. But he said he was restless all day anyways, so he didn't mind doing it all for me 😭 Just made my week so much easier, honestly. Now I won't have to clean until he goes back to work from vacation. I can just sit back and relax, finally, and concentrate on all the online events I have going on now.

There's an Autumn Ritual I'm attending (possibly / hopefully with @thetalkingbones) tomorrow ... Then there's the Autumn Equinox- which is the same day as @graveyarddirt / @msgraveyarddirt's Equinox party ... My city's also hosting a Fine Arts festival this weekend (I think?) that I want to poke my nose in at for a bit- and something else going on at the Botanical Garden at some point, too, that I want to check out as well ... Plus my Husband's birthday (which I promised him I'd bake for)- and that's the same day as the Harvest New Moon and Erev Rosh Hashanah ... Then there's the Hagging Out stuff I still need to find a harvest for (had planned Pears, but I still haven't had a chance to get out to the Farm yet) ... Plus the new @portersposse stuff (which I still need to sit down, crack open the book, and figure out what to do for; thankfully with that one, though, I have a lot of time and it doesn't have to be done this month) ... And somewhere in both of those one is my In-Laws' anniversary 😬

Hey, so what kind of advice are you looking for? Because honestly, for having done less than a handful of digital arts, you're doing great. You have form and value scale going for you.

I guess, my best advice that works for me is this: love your layers. Don't be afraid to use them. Stack them. Experiment with layer settings. Get creative. Have fun.

Honestly any and all! Thank you 😭. I have general concepts on fine arts drawing as a former fine arts major but my medium has always been charcoal and pencil (and even then I was technically a photography major but it fell under fine arts, even in the votech High School I went to) but that being said traditional illustration vs digital is so different that I’m just lost in general and will take anything I can get lol. Of the 5 years art education I’ve had, absolutely none of it consisted of digital illustration.

   I have posted about my daughter choosing the Career Center (Votech) over regular high school for her senior year. She is in the electrical program, and very happy the the teacher and the things she’s learning. She comes home several times a week with pix on her phone so I can see the outlets/switches/panel box that she wired during the day. 

(aside: her panel box looks neater and more meticulous than any professionally installed one I’ve ever seen)

   She also spent a couple of weeks grumbling her way through an online certification class. Then last week she came home and showed me a card. My. My baby. My baby is OSHA CERTIFIED!!!  This is causing an abundance of smile crinkles at the corners of my eyes.

HOw can we get help paying for fines and court costs if we are denied the correct medical treatment and are being black balled out of the world by the piece of shit entertainment and movie making fucking people who think that because they have private surgeons they can just fly to mexico to do all these plastic and transgender services to the real addicts and pill popping fucking fiends because they do the porn world and adult ent=ertainment for the state of PA The best.

what can we do to help pay fines if we feel like weve been set up by people reporting lies based off making movies in kensington just to make the families look a certain way.

refusing to treat or give medical care too and finmding some way to make it okay for you all to treat employees and kids alike like shit just to diagnose them as kids enrolling in school only on certain families to keep them at a certain education level to keep control over the whole coal region area and the state of PA juist to givce the lying pieces of shit cry babies from holy spirit whatever they want and all kids alike.

But to be honest, I’m tired cause I had a appointment today (I didn’t go to votech today cause campus was closed cause of the cold weather and my teachers already knew I was gonna be gone anyway) and I was there for 5 hours but I’m thankful cause the person I was talking with was very nice and very helpful

And now cause of all the tests I took there and all the talking, my brain feels like mush and I’m so tired that I’m hoping I don’t have to go back to votech tomorrow cause if I do I know I’m gonna pass out but just in case it is canceled tomorrow cause of the weather, I’m gonna use the chance to catch up on sleep

i really wanna start a youtube channel, but im ugly and have crazy adhd and like im funny, but im the kind of funny where you need to be hot to back it up. also, most importantly, i have like REALLY dead eyes. they show like no emotion, no twinkles, no nothing. that's why my acting career went nowhere, because no matter how good my voice is, my eyes just don't show emotion. ANYWAYSSS

i kind of want to start a commentary youtube channel, but i also wanna do asmr, and i also wanna do makeup. i have no niche and that's also not good. but commentary is easy. i think the best way to do it would be voice over style (especially if i do videos abt celeb drama)
