I still wonder how Eden came to learn about PC. Did they really just go to Bailey and select them from some photos because they think PC is hot? In my personal opinion, and I mean no offense to anyone, that sounds kind of boring and a bit shallow. And with the severity of Eden’s obsession, I feel like there has to be a bit more to it (but it’s likely there isn’t). Otherwise, why doesn’t Eden just select another attractive orphan if PC keeps defying them? Like how Avery moves on if PC angers them enough. I imagine PC might’ve helped Eden once in town, and Eden grew attached. Or maybe it’s because PC has enough guts to wander deeper into the forest than most, so Eden thought they might not mind living with them? OR maybe Eden saw PC spending time with Robin in the forest one day, saw how caring PC is for Robin (not necessarily in a romantic but maybe a sibling-like sense), and thought to themself “I want that sort of affection and care,” thus decided to buy PC, hoping to replicate PC’s affection towards Robin for themself. But it’s likely Eden didn’t know how. Hence, the chaining and caging. Vrel did say Eden loves PC in their own twisted way… I like to head-cannon the last scenario as true because it makes more sense to me, and I believe Robin and PC did have an off-screen friendship before the game starts, so it could be a possible off-screen scenario. But I guess it also depends on how the player plays PC because some players don’t care about Robin at all. What do you think? Maybe Eden’s selection really was totally random, or did Bailey randomly choose PC for Eden? I think Eden knew about PC before first meeting them because, if PC is sold to Eden without meeting them in the forest first, Eden says something along the lines of “I usually prefer to chase my prey, but this works too.” But that’s all.

According to the blogspot, Eden went to Bailey and told them what they wanted. Bailey came back with some pictures and Eden chose PC.

Vrel said its not impossible that Eden came across PC when they were young, but personally I don't find it interesting at all.

The whole Eden going to Bailey part is interesting cause its another piece of their weird friendship. Like, how do you think Bailey reacted when their friend of who knows how many years, who has never had a partner before or shown interest in others, comes and asks for a spouse?

Did they recognise that something had shifted in their friend? Did they worry about it? Or was it just the money symbols flashing in their eyes?

Whitney quietly closed the door behind him, instinct telling him that someone inside was fast asleep.

He was right. The first thing he saw walking into the tiny flat was you and your son, curled up on the couch, fast asleep. The sight brought a smile to Whitney's face.

It was still such a novel concept to him. Never in a million years did he expect to have his own small family, much less enjoy it. But here he was.

It hadn't been planned, Whitney thought as he took a spot next to you on the couch. But when you told him you were pregnant and he was the father, he knew he had to make a change.

The two of you had worked hard. You took the money you had and ran. Now, you were here. Far away from that godawful town and all the horrors that resided in it.

Whitney worked in the day and took classes in the night. His free time was spent with your child. You worked odd jobs like babysitting and cleaning homes - jobs you could do with the baby - and took online courses. Life was busy and exhausting. You didn't have much, but Whitney was working towards a better future. For his family.

You stirred next to him on the couch, letting out a yawn with your eyes closed. "Thought I heard you come home."

"Morning, slut," Whitney teased. The afternoon sun was starting to set.

You weakly smacked him on the arm. "Told you not to call me that in front of the baby."

Whitney rolled his eyes. "He's asleep. He won't know."

You opened your eyes finally, just to roll them at Whitney. You handed the slumbering child over to him. "Your son has been a needy shit all day. Just like his dad."

Whitney chose not to point out the hypocrisy of your language, opting to be nice. He wrapped his free arm around your shoulders, admiring the tiny family he had.

"Got a nice tip today," he announced. "What do you say I treat my slut to a nice dinner?"

You sat up, raising an eyebrow at him. "A nice dinner?"

"Fish and chips is nice!" Whitney protested. "Whatever. Can't you just be grateful?"

"Mm, no," you said with a smile. "But I'll take the dinner anyway."

Whitney leaned back and sighed, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "I thought after all this time, you would stop being so annoying. Guess I was wrong."

Your grin grew wider. "Yeah, but you're stuck with me now."

"Guess I am," Whitney said with a smile back. Only, he didn't feel stuck.

In fact, he felt freer than he ever had.

Lya! How did you know the new li will be a plant person?? Will you draw them?! I’m so excited like- jdjwksndnsjsk!!!!!

I was honestly thinking everybody knew it :,D Gulugulu told me and we talked about how the game is going and the direction and stuffs like that since, I think, 2 or 1.5 month ago already. I don't usually go to Vrel's blog, so they do it for me and screenshot anything interesting so we could talk about it.

They said they heard the new plant LI will be related to the temple as well. We used to joke that if the new plant LI is truly related to the Temple maybe even they will have more interact with Jordan than us PCs would ever have *laugh in thirst*. But, well, with the recent update and the stuffs going on in temple ranking, maybe that wouldn't be the case.

As for will I draw them.... Hm, let's see what kind of person are they, and if I would ever have time :,D I'm honestly too stressed out with financial stuffs all my drawings recently are dull as hell. Creating Kariya is one among my several attempts to revive my "mood" and of course I would let them swing by to at least say hi to the new LI :,D

On Monday I have most free time to travel as I have online lectures on that day, what i can watch just as well in the train as at home. Sadly, Monday is the day that most museums are closed, so I don't have a lot of choice. But today I went to Den Haag and just went to see what was open. Het Mauritshuis was open, well I actually had to wait an hour, but I just walked around a bit. It was very cold and windy outside, and I really recommend visiting this city in the summer, since it wasn't as pretty as I usually remembered it to be now.

Feel like a VIP As i got to the beautiful old building and walked through the gates to the door, I was pointed by a man in a suit towards the stairs going down under the Hofvijver. After that I got to a desk where they took my jacked and bag and i once gain was greeted by people in suit. All this was way more formal than any museum I have been to so far. Then I walked upstairs, and I was inside the beautiful old building. Old painting everywhere.

It was kinda busy, which I didn't expect. I was there the second it opened, and it’s a random Monday, so maybe it's even buster when tourist will hit the city in the summer. You do need to make a reservation for this museum, luckily since it's not busy, yet I could do that right before it opened.

The peal earring

This museum is known for showing famous Dutch painters like Rembrandt and, most importantly, Vermeer. The highlight is the painting of the girl with the peal earring. However, that wasn’t there today, as they had borrowed the painting to Het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam for some months. To compensate for this, they did have other visions made by people all over the world and stories of people and how important art is to them. The painting will be back in April, so I just missed it, sadly.

Kinda… boring? As you know, I like interactive museums, and this is very much just.. Looking? Like bro, I can also look at the painting for free ON THEIR SITE. But I know this is how historical art museums are. After walking and reading for a bit, a group of students walked in, with a tour guide. And I just kept following them for a bit. They were Ukrainian students here fleeing from the war. I’ve heard from a lot of museums that Ukrainian schools or groups of adult will come by museums often. In the Chicken museum I went to some weeks ago, the man working there told me that these museum visits are mandatory by the state, so they will have a good integration in the Netherlands. I think that's a good thing and very interesting that I get to see it everywhere.

This was the first museum that had an app and I really recommend it as that will give you access to the map, audio tour and other things. The museum also has free Wi-Fi with is nice when you require an app. First you choose your language, but after I clicked around some and tested other languages I noticed that if you chose anything other than Dutch or English you won't have access to the audio tour. Like everything in the app will be in your preferred language except the actual information about the paintings????? Which will still show in English. That was kinda weird tbh but okay. In the app, you can also select a tour, like ‘’the highlight tour’’ or ‘’the animal tour’’ and some others. Or you do what I did, and you just type in the numbers of paintings that you want more info off. So I do recommend you take headphones, otherwise you can still hold your phone to your ear, but headphones would just work better.

Would I pay the price: nooooooway, idk maybe I don't get the difference between looking at art in real life, I'm like ‘’hmm I already saw this’’ Would I revisit it: nah Who do I recommend it to: people/tourists who like to see famous painting Interactive: 2 Educational: 1 Storytelling: 1 Price: 2 memorable: 3 Total score: 1,8

on the subject of npc relations, i looked through the code and theres a spot where it sets the named npcs hair and eye colors. most of them are individual, but two sets of npcs share their options: Charlie and Morgan being gingers, and Kylar and Bailey having either black or brown hair. is it to save space? perhaps, but perhaps not 🤔🤔

See that's my big theory too but I think someone told me that Charlie and Morgan aren't actually related, as confirmed by Vrel, but I refuse to believe that until I see it in the game

I am hoping you the Eden expert, can answer this question. I am wondering what Eden’s currently ‘canon’ personality is supposed to be like. Or what we can assume so far. I have gathered various information from random searching, and so my depiction of Eden is all over the place. So I am not sure what is canon, and I think the term is ‘fanon’.

I believe in the past it was assumed Eden enjoys hurting PC, but Vrel later confirmed that Eden does not actually enjoy it. I think Eden did worse than spanking in a very old build before? Like sticking PC’s hand in fire I think. This may be fanfiction. Unsure. But so how extreme is Eden willing to go with abuse?

In the past it was also assumed Eden does not want kids, but this was also later said to be false by Vrel. I think.

It is understandable why the moor rescue was removed, but I found there are discussions of removing other rescues because they do not fit Eden’s character, but this has not been done because various reasons like popularity. More specifically Eden’s crying afterwards is debated.

Does that include the Asylum rescue? I really do not know if the Asylum rescue has been removed. I personally believe Eden being angry after a rescue and not crying would make more sense. Eden seems like the type who was told to not cry because it is ‘weak’ hence lashes out with anger instead. Is this more reasonable or does it not fit Vrel’s vision? Softer Eden is sweet to see though. I like to think Eden cares.

I believe Vrel also mentioned wanting to create a new rescue scene for Eden to display their heroism. That suggests Eden cares for PC I think. Do you think it would be understandable for Eden to save PC but get angry once home and perhaps punish PC? Or is there any confirmation this would not be the case? Again, it is sweet to see Eden cry over PC. I am simply unsure if this is realistic by Vrel’s vision.

I also know there was and there still is a lot of debate about Eden’s softer moments and if they fit Eden’s character because they were not actually written by Vrel. Like the radio. Personally feel that Eden really would enjoy some softer moments to imitate what is supposed to be a healthy relationship like in the books Eden reads. Also, it is like a reward for PC’s good behavior. It also is manipulative or controlling in a way. Too abusive Eden may result in PC running away and maybe with the kids if they have any. But I am not sure this is accurate? I think these discussions also apply to Eden finding PC in town after 1 week and the dates.

Overall current Eden scenes and debate suggest Eden sees PC as both a partner and a possession, but not an equal. Vrel said Eden loves PC in a twisted way and loves PC if they get something out of it. Or something like that. I am unsure what that means. Is it the companionship really all they care about? It is difficult to comprehend the lack of love because Eden is so loyal to PC.

So I am wondering if the softer moments are reasonable? Or if they are out of character? I do like the loving and tender moments, but debate suggests they are unrealistic. Has Vrel mentioned anything about Eden having a canon softer side? Vrel has mentioned facts like Eden’s favorite skin contact is holding hands. This suggests some romantic feelings I think. Vrel mentioned wanting to ‘peel back the layers’ of Eden overtime which may mean Eden will let PC in more. It seems like Eden’s romantic side is what is heavily debated.

In conclusion, I am unsure what the ideal vision for Eden is. And I am suffering a rollercoaster of emotions. I love Eden, but also fuck Eden and please lock and chain me up in your cabin’s secret underground cellar and have your way with me. Not canon just think that would be fun lol. Sorry this was so long!

Hi! You're right, there's a lot of conflicting scenes with Eden and new lore by Vrel also has helped blur the lines and make writing Eden a lil more confusing.

I'll try to go through these one by one. Prepare for a long post my dudes.

1) Eden never put PC's hand in the fire. That's violence that goes beyond what DoL enjoys portraying, and the only time something similar has been used is the coal walking scene. Though correct, Eden does not enjoy physically hurting PC, nor do they enjoy being mentally or emotionally abusive. This does not mean that Eden is incapable of abuse, as they do it all of the time. It's just that Eden's preferred form of abuse is physical restriction. We see this with the collar and the cage. They can and will be driven to physical abuse when they've been pissed off enough, but they don't get any pleasure from it, unlike restriction, which does blur the line between punishment and kink.

2) I assumed Eden would not want kids due to the difficulty of providing for them out in the forest. I was wrong, but everyone here sees me as the arbiter of Eden thoughts, so it spread. Vrel later came and corrected the myth, not only does Eden want kids they want all of the kids - Mormon style, y'know? This is why I say to take things I say that don't have a Vrel confirmation with a grain of salt, I too get things wrong.

3) The UFarm rescue was pushed to be removed for a couple of reasons: character inconsistencies and Eden becoming too much of an ex machina character that PC is able to use to get out of any bad situation without working on their stats. The character inconsistencies are that it had been confirmed by Vrel that Eden wouldn't even actually know how to get to the UFarm, and also Eden would have to get past a lot of guards to even get to PC in that rescue - yet no uproar or anything is heard.

I feel the Asylum rescue makes sense now that the fucking bomb has been removed. The Asylum is in Eden's back yard so to say. They could easily stumble across it. The issue with the moment of crying is that in every other moment where Eden finds PC after they've been gone a long while, their reaction is indeed anger. It's an inconsistency. I'd tweak that scene a little to be less lovey. Eden isn't exactly emotional beyond their anger.

For those not in the know, a lot of the soft Eden scenes were added by a particular contributor who I won't name. This person, despite writing for, coding for and playing the game, did not like dark content, and so chose to make Eden the contradiction we see now. They rage quit writing when they were met with criticism as they had gone over contribution manager's heads to do so and often added things without approval. Prior to them, Eden was very much seen as what they were - a punishment. Still an LI, but one of the worse ones due to their controlling and cruel nature.

We also have to factor in that Vrel has changed his mind on a few things over the years. Eden might not have been as normal when he first added them as he says they are now. I'm saying normal - Eden isn't normal, but I can't find another suitable word rn. One example of changes: initially Eden had an outhouse and would use moss to wipe once they've been to the toilet. They would have to fill the bathtub up by hand. Vrel changed it, now Eden has plumbing (curtesy of Bailey btw).

4) Softer Eden isn't being removed from the game. It's just being re-shuffled to make more sense in certain contexts. For example, the radio scene. Eden hates modern tech. Them accepting the radio without so much as an English Check from PC is eye rolling. I also re-wrote some of the town date that can happen with PC (such as Eden having sex with PC in the park and in the changing room. Eden is terrified of town, I don't think they would do that. These re-writes have been confirmed and are waiting coding. Eden should now end the date and take PC into the forest for some sex instead).

And yeah. Eden does see PC as a partner, but it's in the whole tradwife/husband dynamic thing (regardless of genders used in your saves). PC is their love, but is their property. Despite how much Eden can recognise the evil of others hurting PC, they excuse their own behaviour as they've convinced themself it's for PC's own good.

low love! whitney who’s known for skipping and never coming to class, all time delinquent because why should they? it’s a waste of time being there, sat at the back with another crumpled up paper in their hand, occasionally coming to just get on your nerves. purposely kicking at the back of your chair, shooting you that shit-eating grin of their own whenever you turn back to glance at them, clearly irritated with their antics.

high love! whitney who’s not missing any goddamn math class anymore, solely going there for your presence, pushing past a student to take the seat next to you. doesn’t care for river’s flat, monotone voice droning away about whatever bullshit equation on the board. no, their gaze is set on you, the bully who’s known for never even bothering with school, soft strands of hair curled around their finger, idly twirling it around. their friends always questioning why the hell they’re going every single time, the blond fipping them off as they stride away towards class. they’re here to see their favorite slut, isn’t it obvious? idiot.
