i love how dean literally killed john and it’s SO obvious in the scene in 1x02 where dean’s talking abt “the family business” and trying to convince sam that they gotta “pick up where dad left off” and that finding him may take a long time. and sam is so logical abt it like “that doesn’t make sense! why doesn’t he just call!” and dean’s like hmm *shrugs* idk. dean ur so !!! he literally killed john and was tired of being alone on the road and roped sam back into all this and jess dying was just convenient but man is he gonna milk that if it means keeping his brother around

how come the women in supernatural are written Like That and the women in the boys are sooo #real. Did kripke manage to talk to a woman in between the shows

it's really so crazy that a shit ton of people looked at sam and dean's intimate complicated relationship and said "they must be fucking." your brain sure did rot, huh? you just gotta equate a deep relationship with a sexual one? you're bummin' everyone out dude

just finished S14 and I’m still struggling to figure out how to talk about it, because:
I was prepared to view it very cynically, and imo I still think I could make an argument for how it’s a culmination of framings/issues that started in Kripke’s era, particularly around Dean.
but also I keep chewing on the story the writers were telling about what makes a ‘monster’ and the difficulty of being good and dealing w/ the reality of unintended consequences and it’s compelling in a way the show hasn’t been for seasons. deliberately paralleling Dean & Jack and their willingness to sacrifice themselves to save their loved ones/the world and the unintended consequences of those choices, Dean & Jack’s capacity for violence & lashing out with ways that hurt & kill people, literal vs metaphorical soullessness and what if trying to do good just made you empty inside (yes we’ve got the return of the hole motif!!), how personal sacrifices end up costing everyone in the end, Moriah as a horrible moment of recognition for both Jack & Dean blaming themselves for too much & seeing themselves as monsters deserving to die except maybe not, the whole season intentionally exploring all these fucked up character dynamics.
there’s so much more going on from what I’d seen in fandom discussions. even if I have negative interest in getting involved in ~discourse abt it on any broader fandom level.

went into the boys tag out of curiosity which was difficult since i have it filtered for spoilers. 75% is jensen ackles (whomst i also have filtered) and the other 25% is untagged jensen ackles. i don’t know what i expected from tumblr of all places but this was a popular show before he was in it so where is everyone

love seeing ppl compare jensen’s character soldier boy (on The B//oys) to dean and only mention the daddy issues and PTSD as opposed to like........ him being a raging power-hungry maniac who doesn’t care abt anyone but himself
