I'm sorry sir, but in my headcannon, you don't get to commit your stupid seppuku t-t
(It's my first time playing through cyberpunk, and this dork grew on me in the first ten seconds just to have me crushed in all endings. Takemura, my beloved, you deserved so much better)

It wasn't the "devs" that said that Kerry saw Johnny in V. It was talsorion games (in a tweet that has been deleted) and they didn't write anything for cyberpunk 2077, they only worked as lore consultants. The actual devs only said that Kerry is into male v and isn't into female V
Plus in the Sun ending Kerry stays with V for months even after Johnny is gone, says how he don't really think about him anymore, and how he is scared of losing V and that he will stay by V's side until the end, like, all that it's in the game.
No, I'm pretty sure there was a line about a body type, and people discussed that thing. Though I agree, maybe I'm mixing up things and it was the original creators after all. I've seen several tweets, including the one where the devs of the original tabletop game said that they still consider Kerry a bisexual.
Either way, you realise, right, that Kerry was originally created not in Cyberpunk 2077? And that their input matters? (UPD: Anon, do you really think that they erased Kerry's bisexuality and added some lore about Kerry and Johnny for nothing? Why would they need lore helpers in the first place? Because of they did erase Kerry's bisexuality for nothing, that's double shitty of CDPR.) Plus, that the ending you're talking about is just one of possible endings?
Literally Phantom Liberty:
Tumblr media
It's the pause and his hopeful, "Or is it Johnny?"
But again, the ship aside, here's this nonsense, and it barely changes from platonic V ending:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kerry could've done SO much better.
Tumblr media
The fact that Kerry goes, "How could I have knows that you'd be back at all?". And how V can answer "Why don't I believe you?"
Tumblr media
Kerry literally doesn't treat his romance option any better than he treats female V that you can't romance him with. If he really cared, he could've flew V to him. He could've found a way, but he doesn't really bother or care enough to do so. That's actually my problem with his characterization in general. Do you really think that's the love of his life? Do you think he cares much? "Give me two months. No, four tops! When I get back, we'll go wherever you want." C'mon now. There's no great friendship there, and definitely not much of a partnership, either.
But honestly, come talk to me into DMs. They're open and it's way easier to talk there. :)
UPD 2: This post right here. They get it.

i've never played any cdpr games and have no interest in doing so, but i am curious what's wrong with the quest about river's nephew. googling it results in nothing but people complaining about river's romance elements, or how they hate him as a character.
SPOILERS FOR CYBERPUNK AND THE MISSION "THE HUNT"
this is the official page that highlights the mission. But to sum it up, River's nephew gets groomed by a man called the peter pan killer who grooms and lures young boys to his farm where he hooks them up to these machines. There are more victims there that are already dead. some are still alive too and you find his nephew who is hooked up too (he's alive). but looking this up, i found out that there are at least two ways to actually get there too late sooo yeah.
It comes right tf out of nowhere and when you play through it, you're just cringing because it's pretty dark and touches a little too close to reality with the whole grooming bit and other aspects. you also see the memories of the killer in his childhood which is also like, chilling.
river, to me, is a douchebag. i dislike his sense of style and that's enough for me to dislike him lmao. he's also a cop and flirty with you and it's like...nah, go away, river. judy has my heart. meredith would have my heart but that damn game wouldn't LET ME.

I think I’m about done with the game. I decided *not* to plow through to the ending, and at least do the side missions. It’s been a blast. Spent the entire weekend playing and pretending other people don’t exist lol. I especially love the rogue/johnny mission line. I wasn’t a big fan of Johnny, him being such a massive ass, but this mission line made me like him more. The fucking tattoo he got v was fucking aaaaaa he’s more like an annoying older brother now and the one where they went to his “grave”…
Also, biggest surprise: Claire is a mechanic that has a beefy kickass car 😳 I never thought the bartender that caught my eye was a bigger part of the gameplay. Thank you cdpr for catering to my preferences. (didn’t like how she lied to v to get revenge tho…)
Also. The river guy. Why was he so…? He reminds me of the desperate guys from uni trying to “make a wife out of me”. When v came to make jambalaya and the kids kept saying that they should be together and the water tower (?) talk where I accidentally kissed the dude and it was so uncomfortable aaaaaa so I reloaded an older save and stayed away from his mission. It was a shame bc the mission with the cow farmer was so disturbing, it was right up my alley, but then he kept asking v out and saying that he missed her. I just feel like cdpr could’ve made the romance aspect better. It just moved too fast. Goro has a better chemistry to v atp.

I try and tell myself to give another shot at Kerry, not even as a romance, just going through his storyline, and just... Every time it comes to the idea of giving Johnny the keys to V's body again, I come back to "nothing about this feels RIGHT."
I mean, hell, Johnny's only justification for why V should trust him with this is to reference the date with Rogue and him behaving himself on it, which DOESN'T HAPPEN in my games, because I tell him he's blown his second chances, so he doesn't ask to have that chance with Rogue, which means, when he says "I behaved myself last time, didn't I?" the last time that he is referencing is the BENDER!
And like... I don't dislike Kerry! I really don't! I may not think he should have been a romance, and that he is more hung up on Johnny than interested in V, to say NOTHING of how off-putting so much of the romance in general is, but... I don't dislike him! I'd honestly be okay to interact with him... If it was V doing the majority of the initial interactions, rather than Johnny. If it didn't get so wrapped up in the elements of Johnny fucking Silverhand, and actually gave a damn about V.
Like... It really does speak to this feeling of Kerry being a "throw it in" romance - Panam and Judy are introduced through the main plot and River is introduced in a sidequest, all things that are done and developed by who V is. You meet Judy before the biochip even goes in, Panam is a contact given to them by Rogue, River is met through a job... But Kerry is ONLY met through Johnny, and at the tail end of the game, at a point where all of the above can easily have their entire storyline wrapped up. The points that introduce Kerry before that are, yet again, through Johnny, through V playing through Johnny's memories.
It leaves this bitter aftertaste in my mouth, because it basically feels like Kerry was basically picked for the M/M romance because he was just THERE, that they didn't really want to spend time developing another relationship for V, so figured they'd transpose Johnny's relationship onto V, kick Kerry up to a romance, and call it done.
And the actual owners of the tabletop license have said outright that Kerry IS bisexual, just that male V "fits the mold" of his feelings for Johnny better for his subconscious, which... It SCREAMS that Kerry's drawn in more by putting Johnny's face on V's in his mind. Yeah, sure, the endings show that they're still together after Johnny's extraction, but like... V's given like six months to live after that, that is BARELY time to even start to scratch the surface of trying to resolve those issues - Kerry can CLAIM that it doesn't impact things, but that doesn't mean that he's right, that he isn't denying it to himself, even. Not that he is intentionally lying to V, but that he is lying to himself, trying to tell himself that he's past it and judging V for themselves, rather than in comparison to Johnny, and he may even want that to be true.
Like, I've told myself repeatedly over the years that I'm totally over the feelings I had for my big high school crush, but, because I also had that as an emotional crutch for me doing a traumatic period in my life, those feelings hit me again every now and then like new, even though it's been almost half my life since I've even seen him. I believe Kerry THINKS he's over it, but I also believe that he is 100% NOT.
This game did gay players so fucking DIRTY. As much as I enjoy playing it, I can TELL that they were not interested in building up the world with V as a gay man - or, hell, Night City and the Cyberpunk 2077 world as a whole as a place FOR gay men (witness the ONE place in the city explicitly referred to as a gay bar not even managing to LOOK like one - like even the stereotypical cowboy bar would have been SOMETHING!).
And what's worse is that I can't even JUST lay this accusation at CDPR and Cyberpunk's feet. This is the fucking INDUSTRY - witness freaking BIOWARE, who, I regret saying, given they're ALSO on my shit list about this, and their track record. And who else is there, really? Bethesda? MAYBE Obsidian, when they actually include romances? Even with Spiders trying to throw their hat in the ring, I have some other issues there that I'm already going on long enough now, I don't need to open THAT can of worms as well. Who is getting this right? They'll have straight men portrayed as the default, throw in some nods for straight women, and lap up the portrayal of lesbians for the sake of titillating the straight guys, but god help you if you want nuanced takes on queer men that aren't stereotypes, reductions to "the gay guy," or pure afterthoughts.
And, yeah, sure, you may have indie games and all, but the problem with focusing on indie games is that there is a difference in the product you're getting - sure, I'll play like a visual novel or something every now and then, but it doesn't really scratch the itch. Y'know, the problem of AAA games is that they're telling a big story, something at a level of immersion and depth that is bought with their budget, while indie games are going to tell a more limited story - like, I know they're not indie, but compare Pillars of Eternity or Divinity Original Sin to Mass Effect or Cyberpunk, these are VERY different styles of games, you get actual character model interactions in the AAA style, you get a romance sequence that shows the characters together, you have unique character models and distinct faces...
I'm not slamming the different style, for the record, just... It's one thing to have the narrative text being read aloud as two blocky figures stand next to each other, leaving the player to visualize what's happening based on the description and using the character portraits as an inspiration, and another thing to have two characters actually being seen physically touching, actually kissing, even rolling around - like, I compare the Rhys romance scene in DOS2 to the Kaidan romance scene in ME3, it's obvious which one is going to click more for me.
And, again... The best I can generally expect to get out of all of this is this afterthought nature of portrayals.
Because how dare I think I'm deserving of equal treatment to the straight male gamers out there.

Sooooooooooooo, since CDPR haven’t made any merch for Kerry. I turned some of my previous graphic designs into wall pictures and key chains. No doubt my baby Kerbear will like his own keychain the most. Lol.

homestretch of the hard times | g.t.
summary: the eve days of your potential death kinda spurns things to move forward: for takemura, it means confessions. for you, it means making exceptions. and drinks. ‘cause takemura’s the pickiest fucking eater you’ve ever met.
WARNINGS: small spoilers for act 1 of cyberpunk 2077 and references to non-spoiler texts between takemura and v, just fluff, small angst, swearing, idk what else is going on so if there are actual spoilers thats completely coincedental ndlnskfsldnf pairing: goro takemura x fem!street-kid!v word count: 2.6k
a/n: so cdpr did us dirty for not allowing us to romance him (to my knowledge) but he has my mind, heart and everything else so :) listened to the bones by maren morris w/ hozier
part of the tales of a two-bit thief series
Tumblr media
It starts with something straight out of a romance movie: A car crash, saving each other’s lives (well, him more than you) and “Wait, V, I need you.”
You don’t know how you got here, to be precise. There were a chain of events, some absolutely stand up fucking moments on your part, and just… fuckery. So much fuckery and life went to shit.
All you know is the ticking time bomb’s only ticking louder and at this point, the only thing that can silence it at all is the man beside you. Not even the meds Misty gave you can help you now.
You’re sitting in his car because you called him and he had answered and now… now they’re on one of the off ramps looking over Night City like they own the fucking place.
Maybe you did, once. Ha, maybe back when everything seemed more job to job and not life to life. For a moment, maybe you were in the big leagues.
Takemura doesn’t say anything, even though you can tell he wants to. His hair still pulled into that man bun, collared shirt with not a single wrinkle in sight. Weird how he never looks out of place, not really. Not even with the car crash. Shit, he always looked good.
You think you’re actually gonna miss that. That one semblance of someone being put together that gave you the hope that maybe you could stick it too.
You think you’re gonna miss a lot of things about him—from his stupid complaints about the food here, to his stupid random philosophy texts in the day, to the fact that he eats the ramen you buy anyway without complaint, even though it’ll never compare to what he has in Japan.
The thought that counts.
They don’t even have the radio on, just the dim lights of the car, a window rolled down. You don’t smoke but you feel like you should be tapping a cig either way. You haven’t had the time to just fucking breathe—not with Silverhand breathing down your neck, corpo rats swarming you on all sides.
Everyone wants a piece of you, it feels like.
You look at Takemura.
Almost everyone.
“Thank you,” you tell him quietly, with difficulty. It’s hard to get through your words without thinking Silverhand’s behind your back, mocking you. You’re so fucking tired. “It hasn’t been easy.”
He doesn’t respond. He’s too busy looking at one of the cars nearly collide with a pedestrian. You could’ve laughed. You used to make fun of the shitty drivers in Night City, knowing full well you’re one of them.
You get chased by a couple of cops, rules start to bend.
You used to wonder why you never left.
Then, you actually left, and you realized that hell, you can take the person out of Night City—can’t take the Night City out of a person.
Atlanta fucking sucked, but maybe you should’ve stayed there.
But then, a tiny voice whispers as you look out the window to the fresh night wind. You never would’ve met him.
It’s funny, you think. To come back and get a brain tumour in the shape of a rocker who can’t fucking touch anyone who loves him, who he loved, only for you to fall in love with a corpo you can’t fucking touch at all because… because there is no time left. It just isn’t fair.
“I used to be a corpo kid,” you confess, looking at him with a wry smile again. That catches his attention. He looks at you with those eyes that scrutinize you, interrogate you, peel you apart to your bare essentials and you have to look away before you can’t control your face anymore. God fucking damn it. “Not when it mattered, obviously, but… I remember what it was like. Grew up hating every single on of them.”
“Your parents were Arasaka?”
“Mhm. Security division.” It’s like your eyes are magnetic to his because when you blink, you find yourself regarding him again. Your fingers play at your lips. “Counterintelligence. I was supposed to go into that, too. Big dreams.”
“I see.”
“Yeah, then my parents were tried for treason and murdered, so I got thrown out. That’s it.” Your hand falls away. You pick at the chipped nail polish on your thumb. “Never told anyone that. ‘Cept…” Jackie. Well, he’s fucking dead, now. “‘Cept you, now, I guess. Guess some corpos aren’t so bad.”
The corner of his mouth pinches up like he’s flattered and you can’t help the pleased warmth spreading through your chest.
“Should I be honoured I am one of the few exceptions you have made?”
“Well, I don’t make exceptions often, so…” You grin slyly. He looks away just as you catch a flash of his smile growing. It’s a nice smile. You wish you saw it more often before the end of the road. Maybe it’s one of the regrets you have, too. “Yeah, maybe you should feel special.”
“Hm.”
“C’mon, Takemura. Humour the walking dead, yeah?” You stretch against the leather of his car seat with a pleased sound. “I’m spending what time I have left with who I want to. Can’t ask for much better than that.” A quiet hangs in the air as you melt against the black leather and you look at Takemura who’s staring at the wheel with an intensity you don’t often see. It makes your gut squirm.
“And I? I am one of those people?”
You lean on one hip and look at him, bending a knee and resting an ankle on your thigh. He looks at you with an uncertainty—an uncertainty you’re sure echoes in your eyes.
It was business, then it wasn’t. Maybe it never was.
“Yeah. You’re one of the few on the short list.”
“Exceptions again.”
You laugh. “Yeah. You’re an exception to most things, I think. Weird, that.”
“How so?”
“Ah, I don’t know. I’ve had family—still do, ones that matter, you know. Just… no one ever like you, Takemura. Drives me crazy.”
“The feeling is mutual. Your mocking brings you onto thin ice, V.” His fingers tap against the steering wheel. The engine’s off so it seems more fidgety than anything. Weird. You never noticed he fidgeted before. Maybe he’s nervous?
About what?
“I must ask you something.”
“Shoot.”
“If you have a future, what do you see for yourself?”
Your eyebrows shoot up. You frown and pick at your flecking nail polish even more, looking at your hand and focusing more on that so you don’t have to answer your question. His eyes burn into you and you swallow, trying not to act like you haven’t thought, in regret, at night, about a hundred million fucking times the possibilities they could’ve had together.
You’re not about to say all that.
Instead: “Settling down with the family. Mama Welles, people at the Coyote.” You blatantly don’t look at him when you add, “Others. This has been enough action for a lifetime.” You rest your hands on your lap and chance a glimpse at him. He’s looking away from you, out the window on his side, and you shift in your seat. “How about you? You must’ve… had dreams. Before all this shit went down. You make it out of here and then what?”
When he looks at you, your heart nearly cracks at the sadness in his eyes. He smiles, but there is no strength, and his eyes are darker than the night surrounding them.
“I would go to the countryside, just as I’ve always wanted. Leave this, all of this, behind. Rural Japan is beautiful, so a small town would suffice where everyone knows everyone. We do favours for one another. It is community. Nothing like here.” His lips pull into a tiny frown. “When I was a younger man, I wanted a daughter,” is all he says. “I believe I could have been a great father, so perhaps… perhaps one day.”
“A daughter? Not a son?” you ask curiously, and he almost chuckles. You can’t help the faint smile on your face.
“If my daughter grew up anything like her mother,” he explains with a slight glance towards you, “I would have more hope than a son who was like me.”
You frown.  “You’re not a bad man, Takemura. Any son like you—with your code of honour, your shitty selfie skills—no one’s gotta a chance.”
He merely scoffs in response. Again, with the you mocking him. It’s a wonder he lets you.
“But really, that sounds… nice. A daughter, a wife.” You drum your fingers against your knee and his eyes dart to yours, click like they were always destined to meet, and your lips part. Words stall on your tongue and you want to speak but in the dim lights, you are lost in the darkness of his eyes. Something comes, something goes, and you barely croak out, “Whoever marries you will have to deal with so much of your shit that the kids have to turn out alright. The complaining, for one. Picky eater for another.”
This time, he does chuckle and you swallow a breath at the sound. “Dealing with it comes with practice, V.”
“Is that so?”
“Shouldn’t you know?”
“I—“ For once, no funny retort, no witty quip shoots out of your mouth, and you realize that there is an implication—an intricate dance where they’re struggling not to step on each other’s toes and nearly failing at every turn, yet somehow, it works because they’re dancing, and it’s quiet, and it’s… it’s peaceful.
Shit, you’re getting a load of this. When’d you become a poet?
“I guess I should know,” you finally say. “Never understood why I got so giddy whenever I saw your texts, you know, seein’ your name flash on my phone.” You laugh bitterly. “Guess I know why, now.” He’s silent and you don’t look at him. You look at the dashboard where you’ve kicked your feet up a dozen times, the glove compartment that still has your sunglasses inside.
Shit.
“Thank you for everything. Shit’s a little… more bearable, I guess. When you’re around, that is.” The words come out stilted, awkward, but your heart is so heavy in your throat you feel like you’re going to choke. You look into your lap, your whole body incinerating under what you’re sure is the most judgemental glare of your life and you just hope to fucking God this man says something, does something.
Holy shit. You’re going to die of embarrassment. Didn’t even think that was possible.
Then, a loud sigh. A sigh you’ve heard often enough beside you right before a gunfight or when he has to eat the food you ordered for him or even the nights when they’re exhausted, bruised, and just plain tired right before going to sleep where they lay on the floor.
It’s exasperated, a how on earth did we get here, a very annoyed again, you’re so fucking stupid, and you’re still running through your list on what this particular sigh can mean before a hand gently takes hold of yours. Your eyes dart to his, blinking and he stares at you like you’ve just stabbed him. Your heart is fucking racing in your chest, pounding like thunder. His fingers fold over and you realize, as you interlace fingers, that his skin is burning at your touch.
Or maybe, it’s the other way around.
They sit there in silence, not looking at one another, looking out windows, parts of the car, everything but each other, and when he squeezes your hand, you close your eyes and swallow your heart.
It’s over.
“V,” he murmurs, voice so deathly quiet and raspy in your ears that your gut clenches. You turn to watch him. “Tell me that you will not stop fighting.” You swallow your breath as his eyes flicker from your own to your parted lips. He inhales quietly and you swear you can feel his heartbeat pulsing in his fingers in your grip. “That this is not all for nothing.”
“It isn’t.“
“Then I was right.” His eyes flutter back to your gaze and he tilts his head. Wisps of fine hair escaping his manbun brush over his nose and you reach up on your own accord, swiping it behind your ear. You lean over the console, your elbow digging into the leather and, tentatively, you trail your fingers down his jaw, hold his face in your hand. “I am… what is that phrase you use so often?”
“SNAFU?”
“No.”
“Assblasted.”
“No.”
“Royally fucked?”
“We need to expand your vocabulary.” You smile nefariously as his other hand reaches for your chin. He pinches it lightly, thumb stretching up to brush over your lips and your face freezes at his touch. “But yes. Royally fucked. I wasn’t wrong when I said I needed you.”
“I think that meant a whole something else back then,” you whisper rawly and he smiles sombrely. His thumb leaves your mouth to brush your cheek, his eyes fixing on you as if he’s trying to memorize aspects of your face: the arch of your nose, the bow of your smile, the way your brow wrinkles. “Meant more business-like.”
“I did. And now, I believe the terms have changed.” He arches an eyebrow. “Are we at a mutual understanding, V?”
“Yes.” And I hate that we are. Your hand along his jaw lifts to wrap around his wrist. “Consider that feeling mutual, yeah? It goes both ways.”
“I will.” Another small smile graces his lips. It makes him look younger every time and you rub your thumb over the back of his hand.
“Do you wanna grab something to eat before you drive me back home for some shuteye?”
“The choices here are atrocious, V.”
“Then, drinks,” you propose, letting go of his wrist. He lets go of your chin, and turning to face the front, you kick up your feet on his dash. He stares at you for a moment then sighs because there really isn’t anything he can do about it. Nor, do you think, he wants to. You squeeze his hand and send him a silly smile. “How about drinks? I wasn’t hungry anyway.”
“Are you paying?”
You eye him incredulously. “Who do you take me for? You?”
He snorts and the engine roars to life with a flick of his wrist. He grabs the wheel dominantly and you swallow at the way his fingers wrap around the handle. “The Afterlife, then?”
“Or, we could make it rustic.” You pull his hand into your lap playfully and run a thumb over his knuckles. His eyes flit over and you send him a smirk. “I know Mama Welles doesn’t like you, but the Coyote’s serving cheap. Happen to like me there.” He begins to pull out of their little overhang and he nudges their joined hands into your abdomen, silently telling you to buckle in. Rolling your eyes, you mumble out a ‘boomer’ underneath your breath before letting go of him and following orders.
He settles a hand on your thigh and squeezes. You hang an arm out the window.
The wind’s running through the car, he has the radio on low, and they’re easing through onto the highway.
Your chest is lighter than a feather, mind’s quieter than a ghost.
You’ve seen scarier deaths, dealt a lot more. You know that silence is a bigger killer than most bullets.
But here you are now…
“I’m changing this,” Takemura says. “This music is terrible.”
…Shit, maybe life isn’t so bad, ending the way it is.

To everyone in the Cyberpunk 2077 community
I’d like to take some time to talk about something that will never cease to amaze me and it’s about how much we’ve all done as a community in a few months of love for this game. When I first came here, I remember seeing the beginning of some swaps for romance scenes done with the classic method. We were all going crazy over it, everyone who couldn’t romance the person they wanted in game especially.
I wondered… if this is possible, what will it look like in 6 months? But I never thought in less than that, we would be where we are now…
New clothes, hair, nude models, fixes, camera mods and many others were popping at an insane rate! I remember not being able to keep up and I still can’t! Think about where you were those last months thinking : « I’ll never be able to do that! » or « I don’t think it’s possible, but I’ll give it a shot! ».
Even if I didn’t have a clue at that time, I stayed and continued to believe that it was only a matter of time. That we could all help heal each others’ heart together, no matter the ship. I’m not only talking about mods, but everything we did here that helps us go through this difficult time together. People we met and those who became close. It’s more than just playing a game, it’s making real connections with fictional characters, but also through them to other people.
Here we have a chance to be who we are inside, free and loved by people who understands. CDPR failed the launch and didn’t keep their promises, but one thing I’m sure of, is that if it didn’t happen, many of us wouldn’t be here, including myself.
But the worst is over and now, it’s time to heal.
I’d like to give all my gratitude to every fan, artist and modder who made all this possible. I won’t tag anyone, cause really, I thank everybody here.
- All the writers, visual and audio artists who made the characters and their stories feel real.
- All the modders who had everyone’s back.
- All the console players who shared their art, passion and support and don’t give up.
- All those who digged into the files, the lore and the game in general, who shared their analysis, point of view and made us laugh to death with their posts.
- All those who like and reblog because they like the content or to support the bloggers.
- And of course, all the workers at CDPR who cared or continue to care enough for this project to become one day, what it should have been.
I hope I’m not forgetting anyone, but if I do, share it in the comments ;)
We might have expected a finished product, a ground breaking game, but I know this is just the start of something bigger. In bad times, something stronger and better always comes out in the end. Might sound cliche, but it’s always true.
« Maybe it did take a crisis to get to know yourself; maybe you needed to get whacked hard by life before you understood what you wanted out of it. » - Jodi Picoult
Keep up the awesome work you all do and take good care everyone, of yourself, each other and of your fictional friends ❤️❤️❤️

One of my biggest complaints about Cyberpunk 2077 is how, when we visit Kerry's villa, he's never home. His car is there. We know that he drives his car himself. Yet his villa sits empty. Where the hell is he?
I don't even remember if it's my fourth or third playthrough, but every time ai visit his villa and it's emptyyyyy.
And even when you romance him, he's still not home? And you can't spend time with him at HIS HOUSE??? While the quest is called "I really wanna stay at your house"? I know it's a reference, but the naming! Why can't we spend time at his place?
I wanna shake CDPR and get an answer on why. I wanna force them to give us more Kerry, Rogue, and Johnny content. Those three He are the reason I like this game so much. Yet I can't spend time with them! Or... more time with them. They're still friends even when you don't romance them.
Come the hell on!

the viktor vector romance path + ending we deserve
Disclaimer: This is definitely something I came up with in my head. There will be a few instances that are solely made up so it can tie in with the “story.” This is purely fictional; something I wished happened if there was a possible Vik romance 🥰 This is based on my general knowledge of the game & Vik’s life. All gifs + images are from my own personal play through, but wouldn’t be possible without the help of the Appearance Menu Mod, found on Nexus Mods by the creators, MaximiliumM and CtrlAltDaz. And the shirtless Vik mod by the lovely samsnak ♡
It would start after completing the Paid In Full quest where you pay Vik back the eddies you owe him.
I feel like realistically, the general player would have to be at least halfway through the story to have collected enough eddies. I would say that a good point in the story where we can begin the romance is that you’ve already established a connection to Alt and have dealt with the VDB’s.
I think it would be a short side quest like River’s. Vik already plays a big part in the story overall on his own, so I don’t think it’s necessary to make his “side quest” too long. His romance would just be an addition to the ending.
And as much as I would love for him to be a bisexual option for both male/female V, if we’re sticking with the game’s standard with limiting partners to only one kind of partner, he would only be romance-able by a female V with a feminine voice.
Tumblr media
V: Finally scrounged up enough eddies to pay you back in full.
Vik: Hold on to ‘em just in case - you need ‘em more than me.
V: I’m not taking them all the way to my grave, Vik. Here. And.. thanks again for doing so much work on me ‘thout ever seein’ an enny.
Vik: That’s what friends are for.
Then, there is an additional option for dialogue to trigger the romance path.
V: Friends? I think you’ve been in and out of my body more than anyone else I’ve hooked up with in Night City.
He laughs, with a coy smile. “Well, can’t argue with you there. Why don’t we take some of these eddies and grab a drink. You know, to celebrate. Catch up on old times. Haven’t seen you round here much lately, kid.”
You agree to meet at the El Coyote Cojo tomorrow evening.
You meet around 9 PM and you are welcomed by the sight of Pepe and Vik at the bar.
V: Nice choice of venue.
Vik: Thought you’d like it. Haven't been here since.. well, you know.
V: I miss him, Vik.
Vik: I know, V. Me too.
Tumblr media
You immediately take a seat and tinker with a few dialogue options, where you can either have a sweet moment talking about Jackie or some surface questions to ask, like how he’s doing, what kind of drink he likes, etc. But it all winds down to Jackie anyway, where Vik confides in you about his past. Judging by how Vik was so affected by Jackie’s death, and V’s (if you chose the suicide ending), you can tell that he has lost a lot in his life, and keeps his circle very small.
Tumblr media
You then achieve an even closer, more personal relationship with him. But, ultimately nothing happens other than the usual, wait 24 hours in game for a text/phone call from Vik to head into the next stage. At least now, you have established the foundation for a future romance.
Halfway through the 24 hour period, you get a text from Vik thanking you for the lovely evening. No reply needed, as he calls you once the 24 hour mark hits and invites you out for another date.
Tumblr media
You meet at Tom’s Diner for coffee in the afternoon. It starts off with him apologizing for being emotional the previous night and asks if you’re open to hanging out again and going down to Pacifica to watch a fight with him.
Vik: Hey, V. I just wanted to apologize about last night. I didn’t mean to be such a downer.
V: It’s okay, Vik. We share the same grief.
Vik: I was going to head down to Pacifica and catch a real good match later on today. I was wondering if you’d like to come along, think it’d be great for the both of us, you know, as a distraction.
pssst even Johnny’s rooting for y’all ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Johnny: Hmm, interesting.
V: What?
Johnny: Never thought you'd be going out with this guy.
V: Vik's amazing. And I mean--we basically owe it to him since he practically saved our life.
Johnny: Don't tell me you're going out with him out of pity.
V: I'm not.
Johnny: I know, I can feel you get all mushy-gushy. It's almost repulsive. Just wanted to hear you admit it.
V: Eat a dick, Johnny.
Tumblr media
You arrive before the GIM and blend into the crowd.
V: Nothin’ like watching guys beat the shit out of each other to get your blood pumpin’, huh?
Vik: This is a real good matchup, V. This kid’s fresh, young talent.
V: You miss it, don’t you?
Before the fight begins, Vik shares a story about his time in the ring and coming in second in the Watson Boxing Grand Prix.
There’s some extra fun options in the dialogue, you can bet some eddies on who’s gonna win, or side with him. The fight ends, and you two head outside.
Since you’re already out in Pacifica, you head over to the boardwalk (where you would ride the roller coaster with Johnny) and he starts telling you about the last days of his boxing career and how he transitioned from the sport to being a ripperdoc.
Tumblr media
You both share a sweet moment with each other, reminiscing about old times and talking about V’s future with the relic. This is where I would see Vik confessing how he feels about you, mentioning how grateful he is for Jackie introducing you to him.
Tumblr media
The evening ends and Vik asks you to give him some time to try and dig up some footage from his storage and have you come over to watch. You can kiss him then wait another 24 in game hours before the last quest. Halfway through, he texts you and asks you what you’d like for dinner. You can opt for pizza or chinese.
I haven’t seen or read anything about how or where Vik lives. If I overlooked something, please let me know! But for the sake of the story, let’s say he does actually have his own place that’s now introduced in the game. Personally, I think he has a typical bachelor pad, like a really nice apartment. Not too far from his clinic either. He looks like he would just walk to work. Vik definitely has a lot of money, but he’s so humble I doubt he would choose to live lavishly. As mentioned in the beginning, he typically just “sleeps nights” ever since he was over “being a legend” so I’m guessing his lifestyle is very routine. He goes to work, goes home, sleep. Seems unlikely he has a place like the Peralez’s. It would probably be just the same as V’s but decorated to his taste.
The evening comes and you are over at his place. He’s dressed in just a white undershirt, no exo-glove. You get to know more about his family, how he grew up — scanning things around his place. Then he plays some footage of one of his fights for you, while you two have a conversation and share a beer. As you two sit on the couch, you get close, then have an opportunity to kiss him.
then this is where da sex happen hihihi (ノ・ω・)ノ
Tumblr media
The next morning you wake up and you two have a heartfelt conversation about where this is going. He already knows your situation, so I would assume he is very accepting and supportive. And with Vik, he seems like the kind of guy who would still want to be in your life and keep the friendship the same way despite no longer being together romantically. So it’s official. He’s your man 🥵 !!11!1!
Like how River gives you the “fuck the police” tank top after sleeping with him, I think Vik would give you his Night City Devils t-shirt that provides you with a significant amount of armor or some kind of cyberware upgrade that makes you invulnerable for a brief moment while using your hands to fight enemies.
Note: I was thinking of Vik giving V his boxing glove necklace, but because it's part of his character's appearance in the game, I don't think we would be able to essentially "take it" from him - unless he gives you a replica as a keepsake. Which I think would also work.
If you successfully romance, during the rooftop scene near the end of Nocturne OP55N1 (despite Vik’s disposition of him telling you to take matters in your own hands and being a little closed off), you still have an option to reach out to him when Johnny advises you to call a loved one.
V: Hey, Vik. I just wanted to say, thanks for hanging with me, until the end.
Vik: Quit talking like it is, V. Just do what you need to do.
V: I mean, think of it. It’s like I’m heading into the last round of this whole thing.
Vik: Well, in that case.. remember—keep your hands up, guarded at all times. It ain’t over just yet.
V: Heh.. I can feel it, just a few more punches.
Vik: Now look at you - the new welterweight champ of Night City.
V: Thanks, coach.
Vik: Last piece of advice from the coach's corner. Just.. be careful, kid. Remember, I’m with you.
Okayyyy, soooo I’m not the biggest fan of how CDPR gave us two of the same endings (Path of Glory). The only difference is that Rogue’s life is spared. I would have assumed that not only would we get to keep Rogue around, things should have played a bit more differently for V if we took the route of going solo against the corpos. So let’s tweak it.
Tumblr media
This specific ending; it should be after getting through Don’t Fear The Reaper where you single-handedly manage to rip through Arasaka by yourself. Johnny goes back to Alt & Rogue is still alive. Yes nobody dies!!!
(honestly this ending can apply to any love interest you choose)
Vik and V are now living together in a lavish penthouse, entertaining an upcoming merc to do their work for them (which is now the current POV of the player.) You were recruited by Rogue at the Afterlife, who told you to visit this couple for a real, preem job.
They give you some vague details about the gig and go on for a brief moment about what you will be doing and what you should expect. Vik emphasizes to you that it’s important you get what they need because it’s for his wife, V, as her life depends on it.
As Never Gonna Fade Away is playing in the background, they tell you to break into Arasaka HQ.
Tumblr media
Then the game officially ends.

Hollie Bennett (UK head of communication at CDPR, she's featured in the night city wire episodes) is doing the lord's work and told the lead quest designer at CDPR to give us a Takemura romance.
Below are my personal thoughts about this and it's pretty long, so feel free to scroll past. I would add a "read more" if I knew how but can't find anything helpful for mobile.
Edit: I do think this is in the realm of possibility. Of course it wouldn't happen for quite some time considering the circumstances. But it is something that has been somewhat accomplished in the past.
What comes to mind for me is Jaal from Mass Effect: Andromeda. Yes, he was already a romance option at the game's launch, but it was initially for female Ryder only. Though with enough demand, BioWare eventually released a patch where he could be romanced by male Ryder as well. Obviously BioWare was able to do this more easily considering they were able to just reuse animations and didn't have to rely on a lot of motion capture, which is more expensive.
Entire new scenes would have to be crafted if Takemura got his own romance. There are events where they could cut the cost on that, however, by taking advantage of moments where the groundwork is already somewhat laid. Adding optional romance dialogue during Gimme Danger would be a clear opportunity for instance. That mission is where I personally felt the strongest connection to his character and think many others would agree.
And honestly? I think Takemura's performance actor would be very happy to do more work on a romance since the man has absolutely seen and actively likes and retweets people's thirst tweets.
I know I'm not an expert on game design/development and this all most likely means nothing (feel free to correct me on some of the statements I've made btw, I want to be sure I'm not throwing out false information) but damnit is it ever interesting to think about.
So I guess the takeaway here is to please continue being horny on main...

Cyberpunk is consuming my brain ugh
I replayed tapeworm in cyberpunk and when Johnny says ‘still feel something sharp near your heart’ and v says ‘don’t think that’s ever going away’ (I’m soft) I don’t think that was V’s feelings. I think it’s Johnny’s and he feels it in V cuz he can’t feel the difference between them anymore. And I though for a second when you look out at the ocean that V was the hallucination and Johnny was in control even tho I know that’s not the case. (I think that’d be a cool story telling aspect like certain scenes V says something and no one response and Johnny says something smart and people react to that.)
Anyway my point is—
I think Johnny falls in love with V first and that was his something sharp near his heart. And I don’t necessarily mean romantic love.
Essentially their souls and minds are merging V becoming Johnny but Johnny also becoming V and I honestly think Johnny is the first to realize he feels a lot for ‘his little merc’. And while I don’t think he loved Rogue and Alt in healthy ways and I don’t think he was in love with rogue at the end of chippin in I do think the slow burn and reunion of rogue and the fast burning explosive romance with Alt helped Johnny slowly realize that while those were meaningful and influential to how he is now, it’s nothing like what he has with V.
I think CDPR missed an incredible opportunity to make the love (love in any sense of the word) story of the ages with or without a tragic ending, cuz let’s be real, there’s a happy life saving solution for both out there we just didn’t get it.
Like if cdpr would have slowed down the story alittle had more meaningful moments with Johnny that actually contributed to his affection % and let the player truely decide if they agreed or disagreed with Johnny I think a lot of their moment would have been so much more powerful. Cuz I played the game thinking how do I help this guy out of my head. And I agreed with Johnny a lot like why can’t I agree. Also the fact that the secret ending is hidden behind telling Johnny he fucked up as a way to make him realize his actions has consequences is stupid because by then I know he regrets it and I HATE telling him he fucked it up just to get the ending where my friends don’t die.
But seriously regardless of the romance options I think what V and Johnny have is something so unique that with all the ending I think they’re even more tragic in I don’t think the sole survivor. depending on the ending you get, is gonna last long without the other. Cuz Johnny literally doesn’t know how to not be completely all consuming in any relationship he has and V’s character arc is about trying to have these interpersonal moments after being so alone for so long and suddenly not being alone ever because of Johnny, they complete one another because they’re both so lonely and finally they have a another half to truely balance them out. There bond slowly goes from parasitic to symbyotic and I think Johnny the normally very outerpective/avoid my feelings at all cost has to become the introspective one and V vice versa. And I think Johnny figures it out first. And I think it’s a balance that however long v has to live without Johnny and whatever Johnny does when he leaves NC, the feeling of being whole, the balance, the equilibrium they found with one another is something that will haunt the character for the rest of their life and that’s horribly sad and I JUST WANT A HAPPY ENDING GODDAMNIT.
(Also I figure Johnny wasn’t a romance option cuz Keanu probably wasn’t comfortable with that but also the sex scenes in game are so fucking cringe just let me hold his hand and call him babe and I’ll call it good. Like literally all of them make me so uncomfortable I’m not romancing anyone in my main play though partly cuz of that, partly cuz I’m in love with Johnny and gonna end on Temprance cuz I wanna know what’s behind the black wall, and partly cuz I played female V first and can’t hit on Kerry)

I just wanted to say thank you for creating the gifset that you made of Johnny + V, it's so good, I could watch the one of Johnny's face being caressed forever.. thank you so much
Omg, thank you very much for the kind words! They mean a lot to me😭💖💖💖 And I know, right... Those touches are so tender and loving. And Johnny's eyes are focused on V with so much care and love, I can't... I absolutely love what CDPR made with their relationship, they are very good written. Yet I can't help but pity the lost opportunity to make Johnny a romance option... All the moments we could've had without the need to swap the models...😑😔 Actually, I mean, I've seen some people say that there was too much of Johnny in the game. That that gave them the feeling that he was the main character and not their Vs. But I will never get enough of him. Literally. I feel the opposite, like there could've been more! Even though I know that, actually, there was quite a lot of him. Especially compared to my favotite characters in other games. I really lack of little moments between him and V. Like, I saw a guitar on one of the loading screens or concept arts (I don't remember which one that was) in V's apartment, and I always imagined how they would come back home after some mission and Johnny would note the old guitar in the corner and ask V where is it from, say that he didn't know that V played as well. To which V would say that he doesn't actually know how to play and Johnny would offer to teach him. Maybe not in the moment, so their talk would stay like a dialogue and wouldn't need any additional animation. Or I often imagined how V is going to sleep, or doing something on the computer, or cleaning his guns, or pretty much doing anything, and Johnny would just appear on the couch and start playing something on his guitar and humming along. Idk, I just live for such little moments. Yeah, I've got carried away a bit😅 Thank you for reading my little chit-chat, and sorry for the mistakes, if there are any. English is not my native language) And again, thank you for your words💖💖💖💖🥰

Letter to CD Projekt Red
(aka, why can’t we romance takemura goro)
@cyberpunkgame
hello I know nobody will ever read this lmao and it’s written mostly tongue-in-cheek but here we go
CDPR, I have two words for you: takemura goro. Why on EARTH is he not romancable? I haven’t not finished the game yet, but W H Y did you create this amazing, three-dimensional character who has such obvious chemistry with the player character? whose relationship grows from strangers to unlikely allies to even friends? why develop Goro’s backstory, who can tell you all about his childhood and his grandmother and his hopes and dreams? just why have him have a very clear relationship with V that develops closer and closer over time? to what end? certainly not a romantic one, apparently. not that relationships only matter if they are/can be romantic, but in a game that proudly touts its “variety” of romance options, its only male romance options are limited to T W O guys (but only one per playthrough since one is strictly for female V and the other is only interested in a male V with male body type)?
And not only that, but these two consolation prizes (okay I take it back bbis I adore you both b u t) are strictly limited to SIDE PLOTS??? and are therefore entirely missable??? this is fucking ridiculous.
meanwhile the two big female romance options are both integral parts to the main plot and have hugeeee roles throughout the game hey just like goro. and not only do people interested in female romance options get the fabulous Panam and Judy, they also get several minor female romance options with THREE minor characters with Meredith (whose romance can be missable but is so infamous at this point), Rogue (I know she’s not exactly romancable for V per say but the player still gets to experience it), and Alt, who are all — surprise, surprise — tied to the main plot!!!! wtf?
and it’s not like it’s a stretch to see the romance between V and Goro. you, as V, can offer to show him better food than the street vendors that he so adorably detests. you can go on a date recon mission with him, where he orders you takeout after vehemently saying he doesn’t want to, followed by sharing his aforementioned backstory while bonding with V, talking about their shared hardships. later in the game, you can even text him, offering to keep him “company” overnight?!?!?? why even include that as an option if there is no follow-through?? it’s almost like you wanted to include an amazing romance option available to players interested in guys but then, oops! haha, jk! changed your mind! also don’t get me started on the three only ways goro’s storyline can end
in summary, CDPR, please fix this heinous oversight immediately after you get this game to work properly on the original generation of consoles that this entire game was designed for in the first place
oh and if for some weird reason CDPR actually reads this lol: pls know this letter was written with all of my love and sincerest gratitude for making such an amazing game that can elicit such a strong emotional response from its players like me 💜💜 pls just let me smooch goro kthnx

I personaly think that in the paid dlc we are gonna get, we might have new endings;
(like if they had new 'major' npcs like Thompson and have a whole mission about 'where is Johnny' *wink wink* just like the comics they are working on *wink wink*)
and, if we are lucky enough, get a "happy ending" where both Johnny and V survives.. Aannnd maybe have the posibility to get a 100% relationship with him and the posibility to romaaance him..? What do you think? any thoughts ?
(oh and CCDPR said that CP277 will have more romance than the Witcher, if i'am not mistaken, the Witcher got 7 romance, Cyberpunk got 5.. ;] )
I'd love to jump right on board and be like FUCK YEAH JOHNNY ROMANCE but I'm a skeptic by nature and just can't see it happening. I hope it does, really, and if it does I'll eat my words. But with how protective and weird CDPR has been about Johnny and Keanu's likeness, I can't see it happening. I mean, they literally made him turn to jello if we get too close.
SPOILERS ABOUND
Now, I could see an ending where you save his body, saving him and V. Theres the theory his body is in space and the ending where V yeets to space. And that ending especially has so much to explore. I still think his body could be in cryo somewhere and maybe saving him is another way to get 100 percent. Cause you can get 100 percent on his affection...in temperance ending after V dies for him.
As far as the promise of romances, CDPR ain't known for keeping their promises, so idk. If they added more romance option, I'd see it more than likely being smaller npcs (claire comes to mind) orthe more likely thing in my opinion completely new characters all together. I'd like to believe Takemura is on the table and I'd think he'd be on the table before Johnny (i'm such a pessimist I'm sorry!!!) but Takemura would be tricky given his Arasaka ties.
