Merilliam May 2023 - Day 26 - Marriage Headcanons

Mereoleona was the one that proposed. William was planning on doing so himself, but insecure as he is, he feared rejection for so long, Mereoleona just got tired of waiting for the proposal and did it herself. (She expected a proposal, William didn't, so safe to say he was quite caught off guard with that one.)

Despite being a wedding between a nobleman and a woman of royal birth, the wedding was relatively small. A royal wedding might have a few thousand people invited to the church ceremony itself, but this one only really featured William's squad (which mind you has been reduced during the Spade Arc), the Vermillions and a few friends from other places on both sides. So only around 50 guests.

It takes place after the Spade Arc a) because knowing the upcoming threat makes it a bad idea to set up a wedding between the Reincarnation Arc and Spade Arc. b) At this point, relations are tense between Mereoleona and William because of the whole... elf thing... and c) before the reincarnation, neither of them even knew they liked each other. (In fact, Mereoleona was fairly neutral on William since she barely saw him before that).

Mereoleona's outfit is white, but her flower bouquet - as well as the rooms the event takes in - is full of reds. She doesn't hate white, but red's definitely a favourite of hers, so it had to feature. William's also in white with a red flower tucked into the breast pocket on his vest, and a blue bow tie. (There is no mask though, it just seemed more sincere to go without the mask for once.) Also, both outfits are agreed to be worn beyond the wedding occasion. Nothing worse than a wasteful item of clothing.

Mereoleona made sure plenty of meat was served... mostly for the sake of her side of the family (all meat lovers).

Also, they wrote their own vows. Well, actually, Mereoleona just improvised, but still. William rambled with his for so long, Mereoleona cut him off with a kiss before it was even the time for that.

Mimosa and Noelle were picked as bridesmaids for the occasion, being related to Mereoleona. They got to wear whatever they wished, which ended up being a flowery red dress for Mimosa and a flowery blue one for Noelle.

Julius filled in for the "father of the groom" role, Langris was the best man and Yuno was the ring bearer.

And speaking of the rings, those are platinum, with each other's names engraved on the inside, and engraved patterns on the outside. For practical purposes, they don't have gemstones or jutting out decorations so as to not get tangled up in anything.

Dorothy ended up being the maid of honor. Dorothy imo has the most style of the three female captains, so she helped plan the wedding.

One Mereoleona's insistence, the wedding dances are a bit faster paced than the guests might have expected, but William wasn't as easily caught off guard by the one. He was just as entertained as she was, much to the chagrin of the exhausted guests.

Somehow the wedding and it's details still manages to get out of the public, which naturally causes a bit of a stir, since this is technically a royal wedding, so...

The two lovebirds escape to Elysia to avoid attention and share the news with Patri, who has a hard time understanding the union, but accepts it anyway. Rhya's very casual about it... maybe too casual, since he tries to flirt with the newlywed woman, only for her to challenge him to a fight instead, which promptly shut him up. (And of course Elysia makes such a pretty place for a honeymoon, so why not?)

Mereoleona made sure to warn the Golden Dawn not to disrupt their honeymoon in her own way - the message went over pretty quickly without much fuss.

You can bet there wasn't a boring moment on the honeymoon for the couple either - Mereoleona's need for action kept the two on their feet... and especially William who couldn't really tell the difference some days between a day spent working and Mereoleona's idea of "honeymooning"... but was glad to spend it with her anyway. (Even though he basically face-planted against the bed on numerous occasions after their newly married adventures.) Besides, he got plenty of cuddles afterwards, so it was a win-win.

Winter Party for the Captains! (=^.^=)v

Julius just had a great idea on how Yami & Charlotte could get along. He's getting tired of their bickering...

... that idea was called the Paper Dance! It's a game where two people would step on a paper until it gets smaller each time!

Okay, part 2 of Black Clover x Harry Potter

Now we’re going into the Hogwarts staff.

Julius is obviously the Headmaster. If you didn’t see this coming then you need to get out of the rock you live under.

I think Marx is the closest person to being the vice-headmaster because he’s Julius’ assistant. Marx is also the ancient runes professor because he seems like the guy to know ridiculous things.

Yami’s the care for magics creatures professor. He has magical beasts and knows how to take care of them in the canon so I think that’s the best job for him.

William is the herbology and head of Hufflepuff. He probably knows a lot about plants because he’s a world tree magic user and he’s also an animal lover, of course he knows about plants. That or he’s the history of magic teacher because he seems like a history geek.

I see Fuegoleon as the defence against the dark arts professor and head of Gryffindor. This man isn’t scared of anything and knowing the curse that the teachers have in the original…this makes perfect sense. I also see him as a transfiguration professor but that class is hard to decide.

Nozel’s probably the potion’s teacher and head of Slytherin. He gives me movie! Snape vibes plus he’s got mercury magic that works for potions. He’d also be a good alchemy teacher.

Charlotte would make a good herbology teacher or charms teacher. Like William, she knows a lot about plants and stuff. But she also seems really smart for charms.

Jack would be the transfiguration’s teacher. I can’t see him as anything else. He’s a mysterious character with not a lot of screen time.

Kaiser also seems like a transfiguration teacher or charms. He just reminds me of Flitwick a bit and he probably has the patience for charms.

Dorothy is definitely the astronomy or divination’s teacher. She definitely is smart enough to teach that and considering that she is a witch, she can probably teach either.

Rill is probably too young to be a professor but if he was, he’d probably be the Muggle studies professor. I can’t see him as anything else because he doesn’t seem like the type to study hard things.

Mereoleona is probably the flying teacher. She’d also make a good DADA teacher but there isn’t a lot you can do with her. She might also make a good arithmancy teacher or apparition teacher.

Aaactually, sorry, ignore those ship headcanons. I ended up not reading the post properly. Ahaha, sorry.

So here's my ship headcanons for what Mereoleona and William would do if either of them are feeling lonely (can't think of anything for Levi or Hanji.):

Initially, Mereoleona probably wouldn't pick up on William's loneliness, because frankly the guy is very reserved and ✨mysterious✨, but overtime, she'd learn to pick up on it, since she seems fairly observant, even if he doesn't say much.

She'll probably drag him off somewhere - maybe to a volcano - and help take his mind of things. (A little force might be included with her.)

As for William, well, Mereoleona doesn't tend to get lonely much. Outgoing and extroverted, if she needs company, she'll get it. But if there isn't the company or somehow she just does feel lonely, he'll pick up on it fairly easily, since he knows what that's like, and will generally hang around with her. Even offer to do something she likes - risking getting himself killed in the process knowing her preferred hobbies, but still... love makes you do crazy things.

Soft Sunday Headcanons: Loneliness William X Mereoleona

I have never thought about shipping these two before, but I think the dynamic would be very interesting!

I think you're right. It would be tough for anyone to pick up on William's subtle changes in mood because he keeps things to himself quite a bit. But Mereoleona is nothing if not persistent. She makes it a point to learn how to read him so she can best support him when he needs it.

She 100% drags him off somewhere to cheer him up or get his mind off things. I think she would know the best approach after learning his personality. She knows if he needs something adventurous or something relaxing.

William is such a selfless guy. Of course he pushes himself out of his comfort zone and even puts himself into danger if it'll make Mereoleona feel better. I also agree that she is very open about her wants and needs with him. So, there's no guessing on his part. He just goes along for the ride.

Hmm…can I say Yuno x Asta 😅? Like I see where and why people ship the two together (once again; if you ship them, I support you in that 👏), but I personally don’t get it…do they have chemistry and history? Yes they do. Is it romantic? Not to me 😅. To me their chemistry gives me “rivals/brothers/best friends” instead of “lovers”. They’re one of my favorite Brotp’s, but probably my second least favorite OTP (behind Mereoleona x William 😅).

10 Most disliked arc? Why?

Okay, so this is going to get me a lot of flack but…i really disliked the Elf Invasion arc 🙈. While the lore and all of the story elements Tabs introduced were amazing and interesting, the rest of it kind of…dragged on and on and on and on for me. It got to a point where I nearly dropped Black Clover because of it (my mom is the reason i stuck with it ahwjwjshwjw). I think one of the reasons it felt super long for me is all the fight scenes and how we just seamlessly(?) transitioned from one arc to another without much of a breather so it all felt like one big, and very long, arc 😅. But, I got reinvested in the anime when Zagred was introduced that was just *chef’s kiss*!

27 Least shippable character?

Ahwkwksjskw honestly? I feel like it might be Alecdora who is the least shippable character in the series! He just…I really cannot imagine any one with him romantically, not even an OC (yes I have a pair of Next Gens that are his, but no one knows where they came from, not even me 😆!). He’s just, really really unshippable imo!

His daughter was the exact replica of him, shiny purple orbs, soft white hair, the same gentle smile. But her character is the exact opposite of him.

She was bubbly and loud, she didn't care a thing for her image. You always shake your head at your daughter, wondering who did she pick up this trait from.

William adores her nevertheless. He always laughs at her antics and never gets mad whenever she gets into trouble. Naturally, she was a daddy's girl.

"Honey, you have to discipline her sometimes," you would nag at your husband.

But he always felt that she would grow out of this mischievous phase and at the end of the day, she is a lovely girl.

She loved hanging out with the bulls and Uncle Yami, she felt they were more fun compared to the Golden Dawn where everyone was so serious.

"Mommy, Daddy," she said on evening during dinner, "I want to join the black bulls when I grow up!"

You laughed and William giggled, he was a little disappointed that his daughter did not want to be in his own squad but he respects her decision nonetheless. He could see why his daughter would want to join the bull anyway.

"I'll need to tell Uncle Yami good luck on handling a monkey then," you teased.

Fuegoleon Vermillion

Fuego always complained that d/n looks like Mereo when she was just a little infant.

"Why? Mereo's pretty?" you questioned your husband, "well, you and Mereo actually look alike so the female version of you would naturally look like Mereo?"

"We do not look alike, love." your hubby would look at you with a stoic expression.

As d/n grew up, she was indeed like a little Mereo. And Mereo adored her. She would carry her and play with her whenever she visited. But much to the 3 of your surprises, her character was nothing like Mereo and she was shy and reserved, just like her father.

You always joked to the both of them, "d/n would be what you two would be combined."

Mereo always teased d/n and pushed her to be more open and loud, but d/n never raised her voice or screamed.

Of course your hubby was super proud of this fact and would often tell his sister that "even a 6 year old could behave better than you,"

The bombshell came when one day while your little family of 3 were watching a little movie together and suddenly d/n said, "I want to be like auntie Mereo when I grow up!"

You almost fell of your chair laughing while Fuego looked at your daughter, mouth agape.

You couldn't wait to tell Mereo.

Nozel Silva

Nozel absolutely adored and spoilt your first born. She was your only daughter and she looked like the splitting image of her grandma, Acier. Anyone could understand why Nozel gave her whatever she wanted.

However, she was nothing like Acier. She was indecisive, timid and she always doubted herself.

Nozel always tells you that she was a little like Noelle in the past, and that one day she would surpass him and Noelle.

You didn't mind actually, maybe your daughter's character was a little like you, you just wish that she would be happy and healthy.

Your hubby would always give little words of encouragement to her, even though you could tell he wasn't really good at it. She enjoyed spending time with Aunty Noelle, so Nozel always brought her to visit Noelle at the black bulls.

You low key wished that by spending more time with the bulls, she would open up a little more.

Your husband on the other hand, thinks that she's fine being however she is, and he believes she would find her way one day. He loved how she was always kind, patient and generous with her peers, regardless of whatever status they are.

Merilliam May 2023 - Day #1 - Realisations

It was a baffling find.

Knowing a person who had only recently betrayed you happened to hold feelings for someone you were related to, that was.

They'd all been sat down at "The Dreavy Hinker" - Sukehiro's idea, naturally -, the men at one table, the women chattering at another. Being the conversations hadn't interested them, the men did not pay much attention, only occasionally trying to sneak a subtle peek at the other table. (Purely out of professional reasons, of course!)

Awkward as they all were, rarely interacting with one another beyond work, it was decided the safest topic of conversation would, in fact, be work. Something which Sukehiro must have found terribly boring because he seemed to make a drinking game out of it and which prompted the Ripper man to try and provoke the rest of the captains at every turn. The Boismortier lad seemed so distracted he'd settled for doodling pictures of some young woman he must have liked in his journal, and, surprisingly enough, not even Vangeance was paying much attention.

Every now and again he'd blink and ask "I'm sorry, what?" or "I didn't catch that, sorry," or "I um… yes…" with all the conviction of someone who had no idea what question they were even answering.

All in all, the evening was going swell, and clearly, no one was desperate to leave the gathering.

A gathering which, naturally, Julius had organised.

Because of course he had. (Hell would freeze over before Nozel would suggest such a frivolous waste of time.)

Regardless, William Vangeance - a person whose "distractions" had lead to mass destruction before - was currently distracted. So could you really blame Nozel for being ever so slightly - or very - paranoid? When his cousin's cousin caught his gaze it was apparent he was not the only one with such opinions and so, they made a point to quietly investigate it. Subtly. Without -

"So, Vangeance, you got a crush or something?" Great. Of course Sukehiro couldn't keep his mouth shut or his mind on the topic if it would kill him not to. "'Cause… you seem to be more interesting in the ladies than our… enlightening conversation…"

A conversation the foreigner himself wasn't even paying attention to!

… Although, he had to admit, there might have been some truth to it, since Vangeance's cheeks seemed to turn a little red. Wasn't from the alcohol either - for once he didn't seem to order whatever Yami had, and so was almost certainly sober.

"Ahaha… my apologies," he responded, nervously. He entirely avoided the question, though. "What was it that you were saying about increasing security?" he turned his attentions to the captains of the Crimson Lion Kings and Silver Eagles. The colour had faded and it was as though he'd never been distracted in the first place. Yet…

"You're not still fantasizing about Sisgoleon are you?" Now Yami had Nozel's full attention. Fantasizing? About Mereoleona???

Faintly he could hear the sound of coughing and spluttering and turned to find a surprisingly inelegant version of Vangeance choking over his juice.

"I-" Cough. "-wouldn't say-" Cough, cough. "- fantasizing…" Cough. Wheeze.

Once the coughing fit was over and he seemed to regain some self-control, Vangeance twirled the juice glass in his hand, looking down at it instead of anyone at the table. "I respect her as a warrior…" he spoke under his breath, clearly no more convinced of that being the only reason for his distract than anyone else there.

Except maybe Kaiser. "Well, I suppose she is an admirable woman," the older man conceded.

"Oh, sure… she's good in a fight…" Yami drawled, nodding. "And I'm sure she's also good in -"

"Please do not speak so crassly about my sister, Sukehiro. Least of all in front of my face, it makes my drink taste sour," Fuegoleon cut him off.

"I agree," Nozel made a point of glaring at Yami.

"Ohoho, I on the other hand would love to know what else this man believes I'm good in,~" a voice boomed, and he could practically hear his relative grin as she approached the table.

At this point, Yami's cocky attitude turned a rigid after he'd flinched at the woman's voice.

"Mereoleona, do not encourage his perverted ideas." He was not about to listen to talks on anyone's sex-life, especially not in a public space. If he was going to talk about sex, it would not be here or with this particular collective of people. There were definitely more ideal people to talk about such intimate things…

And they would never be so crass about it.

"Aw, Nozel-dear.~"

Apparently the ideal person had overheard their conversation too. Great.

"No need to be so shy about physical intimacy. After all, we're all adults here - and I'm sure Yami-dear only has the highest praise for Mereoleona skills in the area of -"

"Lady Unsworth, do not mistake this man's crass words for respect. It is obvious he has zero respect for women," a cold voice huffed, and it was apparent then that even Captain Charlotte had overheard. Wonderful.

Sukehiro shot the woman a grin. "Hmm… I didn't see you complaining about my crassness and lack of respect for woman yesterday…"

Not caring to know about the implications, he instead look to Dorothy. "I am not being shy, Lady Unsworth. I have no desire to speak of such things in public. I was sure you would have guessed as much by now…" He was royalty, after all; he had much more dignity and self-respect than that!

By the time this back and forth had finished, it seemed Vangeance had vacated his seat, sneaking off somewhere.

Finally things had resolved themselves. Sukehiro was chasing after the Roselei woman with his own clumsy apologies, Kaiser claimed it was past bedtime for him (and probably had more interest in being around his wife than them), Rill had gotten so drunk he passed out at the table (they would likely have to take him to his headquarters, but for now the two royals figured they could make use of the peace and quiet) and Vangeance was still nowhere to be seen.

"I didn't think he would have such feelings… for my sister no less," Fuegoleon began awkwardly. "Well… I suppose he was always reserved."

If Sukehiro were to be believed, Vangeance wasn't particularly subtle about his sentiments. So apparently, everyone, including the man's crush herself, had just been completely blind to his constant excuses to be around Mereoleona in any capacity and the other small hints. Not like he would have known about the comic incident, though….

The comic incident, for anyone unacquainted with the event, was a moment in time during the Grey Deer years, when Sukehiro - being the upstanding member of society - had hoarded a particular genre of graphic novels (also referred to as "manga" - that were targeted at the adult audience. They were absolutely filled with obscenities and filth, and yet, he had to admit even he'd once fallen for the dark haired man's goading. So occasionally, a fellow magic knight would hesitantly borrow a book - with some returning for more.

As it happened, Vangeance fell for it too, and - according to Sukehiro's claims, anyway - chose specifically one involving red haired woman that didn't look too different from Mereoleona and just so happened to have a more dominant personality. Sukehiro, apparently teased Vangeance for this "coincidence" and the younger man had denied it, however, considering all the other hints, even Nozel had to admit it was rather suspicious.

Even so, at the time, he'd had no idea.

"… Yes, reserved…" And from there, Nozel couldn't help but feel a little bitter.

The same reservation had Vangeance ignoring his responsibilities and not informing the magic knights of a terrorist right under their noses. The same reservation had cost lives. It was a confusing reminder, but a reminder nevertheless.

"Well, I suppose at the end of the day it is up to my sister whom she does or does not see…" Fuegoleon swirled the wine in his glass.

"Hmm…" But for it to potentially be a traitor?

"… and, it is not as though we know whether she reciprocates those feelings or not," he reasoned.

Nozel figured there was only one way to find out. "Perhaps we ought to ask her." Besides, the straightforward way seemed to work well enough for Vangeance, so, for a straightforward woman like Mereoleona, it would surely work just fine. Not like they could hide it - if simpler, the woman wasn't daft, she was perfectly observant in her own right.

The red haired captain cleared his throat and nodded, seeming to hesitate, as he looked to Boismortier. "Perhaps first we should…"

Well, yes, it would be a bad idea to leave the young man lying around in a tavern. Nozel nodded.

"By the way, you don't happen to have feelings towards Lady Unsworth?" The red haired male asked as he lifted Boismortier.

Taken aback by the sudden question, Nozel stomach twisted. He couldn't very well have the world knowing about his affairs of the heart. Not now, not in the world they lived in. It would only put the lady in danger and would surely affect his reputation or…

"You need not answer if…"

"I apologise for -"

The two of them looked around to find Vangeance re-entering the building, only to look down to Boismortier with a frown.

"He's drunk and unconscious, not dead," Nozel figured he'd clarify.

"Ah…"

Ah, indeed. They wound up standing in silence for a few moments.

"Well, I suppose since you're here, you could make your intentions towards my sister clear to us," Fuegoleon said after a while.

William bit his lip. "I'm sorry- I know it's wrong of me, after everything I have done…" his gaze trailed from the fire mage's arm to the floor. That was as good a confirmation as any, as far as Nozel was concerned. "I-I wish I could change this, but… I can't."

The atmosphere quickly grew uncomfortable, Nozel's insides squirming, telling him to get out of there. He was never good with emotions and clearly, Vangeance and Fuegoleon weren't the best either, considering none of them could hold eye contact right about now.

"If it is any consolation, I doubt my feelings are mutual…" the masked man let out a self-deprecating laugh.

"So… you and my sister are not together?"

Vangeance shook his head. "I doubt that is even a possibility." Beyond the man being a traitor, there was the simple fact that, while well-liked and a noble, he was not a high ranking noble. (A high ranking knight, perhaps, but…) He might have been a lord, but then, so could anyone with a bit of land to their name, or with sufficient merit… and no one really knew of any Vangeance house. It would therefore not do for the two of them to marry - royalty only married into either royalty or the creme de la creme of noble society. And that wasn't where Vangeance came from. Besides, Mereoleona did make it clear she would only get with someone who was strong enough not to die in a deathmatch, the implications of which, considering she was a straightforward person… did not bode well for someone like Vangeance who had different romantic aspirations, clearly.

(Then again, perhaps that statement had come from a moment of obsessive desire to find someone to give her a proper fight… and maybe she didn't mean it as literally as they'd all thought. Still, that did not suggest she would want to be with Vangeance, of all people.)

Fuegoleon and Nozel looked between each other, with the latter hoping the former would say something, because the awkwardness only seemed to grow.

Fortunately, there would be no need for that.

"I can take Rill to the Azure Deer headquarters," the youngest offered, looking to the young man in Fuegoleon's arms. "I did reside there once, so I know where it is… and I am sure the two of you must be tired?"

He seemed almost hopeful for it, though Nozel wasn't really sure why that would be the case. If he were optimistic - like Fuegoleon - he might chalk it up to a desire to make up for his past actions. However, Nozel Silva was nothing if not a cynic.

Even so, his relative seemed to nod. "That would be… nice…"

Just when he didn't think it could get anymore awkward. Still, taking Rill with him, William disappeared.

Once more it was just the two of them… now with a confirmation of their suspicions. And nothing else to talk about. And no, he was not about to talk about his own… romantic interests…

"How the hell does Vangeance claim to know what is and isn't a possibility as though he knows both of us?" a voice exclaimed and the two men whipped round to find that someone had clearly been listening to their conversation the whole time.

When in the world did Mereoleona of all people learn to be this stealthy?

"Maybe you should be asking him that, sister?" Fuegoleon said in an exasperated tone that betrayed nowhere near enough surprise to encourage confidence in Nozel that the two of them hadn't planned this together somehow.

Dammit. He almost felt tempted to drink right now. If only Sukehiro didn't insist that he was an emotional drunk.

13. Stories by Snow Man (OP 11)

Not bad but it doesn’t do too much. A little basic. Kinda checks all the normal boxes.

The shot of the map is cool

You flash through a bunch of characters.

Group Black Bulls shot.

I thought they were showing flashbacks but there are episodes that revisit Kahono and Kiato, Zora’s backstory, and the Queen of Witches which is nice.

12. Eien ni Hikare (Everlasting Shine) by TOMORROW X TOGETHER (OP 12)

Starts off with some cool shots of squad members against shots of their captains (expect Yami ofc because you couldn’t fit all his kids)

Yuno finding himself surrounded by his friends in the Golden Dawn is really sweet.

Some magic fighting with the captains this time which is super cool

Asta and Yuno growing up as they run together is sweet too.

Not much that I found interesting but it looks nice

11. Gamushara by Miyuna (OP 5)

Solid but doesn’t stand out too much.

The song has grown on me from when I first watched the arc.

I was intrigued that in the opening shots of the Black Bulls, Vanessa and Finral are in different shots when they’re shown together a lot of the time. I think that’s because this point in the story is when their individual stories start getting focused.

Back to the illustrations in the grimoire which is cool.

Vanessa seeing Rouge for the first time is so touching as she realizes the power she holds.

Ending shot of the squad is always good.

Definitely more of a static OP

10. Grandeur by Snow Man (OP 13)

I love the song for this one.

The surprise watching it for the first time is that you find out Asta becomes even more buff.

And then he goes sword surfing.

Good action

Amping up the threat of the Dark Triad well

The hints at Nacht and Liebe are nice

Actually doesn’t show too many characters. The Black Bulls (as a squad) aren’t really there.

9. sky & blue by GIRLFRIEND (OP 8)

I thought this song was not appropriate for this point in the series the first time I watched it. Like, the elves are wreaking havoc and we’re having this nice little calm tune. It is a good song though.

Good action in this one.

Lots of elf trauma.

I didn’t notice the brief shots of Leo and Luck until I rewatched it to make this list, but they’re appreciated for their moments during this arc.

Lots of Asta and Yuno focus.

I feel like I don’t have much to say about it.

8. JUSTadICE by Seiko Oomori (OP 7)

I like the symbols of the squads in time to the song

Great group shot of the Black Bulls

I wasn’t sure why Grey and Gordon were both screaming but once you know, it’s great.

Mimosa in the spotlight because she’s important this arc being on a team with Asta.

Cool Zora shot.

Elf trauma.

Yami being super sus about William and William also gets this creepy shot where black hands grab him.

HENRY REVEAL

Everyone coming towards Mereoleona at the end to form the Royal Knights is nice.

Screaming Black Clover at the end is such a moment

7. rakugaki paige by Kankaku Piero (OP 6)

Lower down in terms of song for me but the visuals are damn good.

Love some of the transitions in this one.

The opening shots of different wizards in environments similar to their magic type is cool. Then, they all fade to black which is where Asta appears. Very nice.

Interesting that Asta and Yuno are reaching out to each other instead of their normal fist bump.

Lots of action in this OP and it’s great.

The transition from Finral and Langris in red to Noelle and Solid in blue is satisfying. The parallel of sibling issues.

Zora seeing his father is a good transition too.

That shot of Langris angry is scary but it transitions to Finral opening his eyes to see his friends protecting him :’)

6. Paint It Black by BiSH (OP 2)

This OP changed as the arc went on. I was skipping it on some episodes and when I decided to see it again, I had to take a step back. Then, I watched it almost every time.

I was excited for this arc because Luck was getting attention and the OP reflects this but at the split shot of him half crazy and half as we normally see him made me think “That’s concerning”

I like the red, blue and black throughout it. Very reminiscent of the rustiness of Asta’s sword too.

Watching the arc, I liked trying to identify everyone’s grimoires as they flew past at the beginning.

5. Haruka Mirai by Kankaku Piero (OP 1)

Start of the show so it’s mostly Asta and Yuno based which is fine because you haven’t met many characters yet but I prefer the ones that include more of the characters

I like that the shots of the Black Bulls and Captains are like illustrations in the pages of a grimoire.

I remember this OP making me think Magna was going to be more important than the other Black Bulls because there’s a shot of him riding on Crazy Cyclone with Asta and Noelle. Like, I thought they were going to be a trio or something.

This is the OP that they play during scenes in the show so it has some nostalgia as the first one and it shows how much Asta has grown.

Being the first OP, it hits different and has a special place, but I think there are better ones down the line.

4. Black Catcher by Vicke Blanka (OP 10)

Cool OP because there is a drastic change between its two versions

Song is really good.

The first one fits that point in the story well because it’s colorless and raining and everything seems hopeless.

Secre flying through the air as the past plays out and then a shot of Asta shows how she’s been around for years.

Cool action fighting the devil.

When light breaks through the darkness and Secre cries :’)

As for the second version…

Secre falling through the sky but she has the Black Bulls cloak on now is nice.

I like Asta running through the illustrations of all these people he’s met. It’s recalling all the adventures he’s had so far.

2. Black Rover by Vicke Blanka (OP 3)

OH BOY

This was one of the openings I already knew before watching the show and I could not wait to get to it. Having the context just made it better.

Never skipped this OP. Ever.

I was so excited that we were going to see Yami in action

There’s also a small fight with Magna, Luck, Asta, and Noelle against these cloaked figures you assume are the Eye of the Midnight Sun. They’re the characters we mainly know so far and it’s a cool bit.

This is the OP that I feel sums up Black Clover as a series the best. Like, I would show this to someone to try and convince them to watch the show.

While Black Clover is the OP that I think sums up Black Clover, this is pure Black Bulls awesomeness. It’s so hype.

I like shots of the grimoires. They’re fun.

I love their dramatic ass poses at the beginning with the lighting shifts.

So, I just came across your channel recently and this event seems interesting! (Also I love how organised and stylish your tumblr is!)

I may join the Disney collab thing with Mereoleona x William ... but I'm undecided on the Disney pairing/story they'll be following. I'm currently torn between gender-swapped Cinderella, Hercules (possibly gender-swapped, possibly not), gender-swapped Beauty & the Beast and Pirates of the Caribbean (William as Will Turner x Mereoleona as Elizabeth Swann).

That said, I'm not great with deadlines, and I struggle to make up my mind, so it might take a while before I can give a more precise idea of what I'm doing, let alone post an entire fic. And if you have a preference of all those ideas, feel free to say which one you think I should try; it'd definitely make deciding easier!

I am intrigued by Mereoleona X William as a ship! Also VERY curious about how a Pirates of the Caribbean pairing would be. I love that. I never even considered that. My deadline is not so strict, so please take your time. I just know some people work better having a deadline (like me!) but there's no pressure at all. I would LOVE to have you join my event. Let me know what you decide!!!
