Anyways not to get too Real on main but. I don't really see people talk about how hard it is to make connections and form relationships with people after having a really bad one.

You'll be having a nice time talking with someone, and suddenly they do or say something you're back there. You have to be guarded and careful to make sure they won't Get You. Even though it was such a little thing, like using similar phrases or something.

But it'd be weird to be too slow or fast with the development. Is it okay to call them a friend now? Should I bring up my interests yet? When is it okay to talk about your feelings? You can't come off too strongly, but being distant will make them not want to talk with you.

You have to be careful. They could harm you. And you could harm them, too- you're still trying to shake off all those bad habits from the relationship. The last thing you want to do is hurt someone. It's worse when you get invited to go somewhere and you get ditched. Just the... realization. This wasn't going as well as you thought it was. Maybe they don't like you and just felt forced to invite you. You didn't mean for that. You don't want to do that to them. Do they feel that way? You don't know.

Part of you just wants to isolate. It's easier that way. But you're lonely. It turns out that when you get away from someone who monopolized all your time, you don't. Really have anything to return to. You start changing and people don't want to stick around anymore.

Idk where exactly I was going with this but. It's okay to struggle making new friends. It's really hard to do, especially when you're recovering. So don't give up hope or think you'll never get it, because you will, at some point. It may be next month or in a couple years but just... go at your own pace. People will come along, I think.

Here we go!

I decided to post the intro just so I'd leave it alone and stop nitpicking at every little detail, changing things and whatnot. I couldn't make any progress on the rest of the story so, now that's it out there, I can hopefully get back in the game and stop messing around.

I don't know if I want this to be a one-shot or not yet, but I guess it'll depend on the length of the upcoming chapter and the response this will get.

Let me know what you think even if it's just the intro, any feedback is welcome as long as it's constructive! And please, keep in mind that I am not a writer, I'm an artist first and foremost. I'm just having fun with this and hope I can get better. Oh and I mention this in the author's note but I don't have beta reader so sorry in advance if there are any mistakes.
