Death Mark II is out! I never actually posted my contribution to the Up to No Good Zine, but now feels like a good time to do so! @spirithunterzine

It was a joy working on the project, and especially interacting with everyone else involved. Putting Christie, Ooe, and Yasuoka in the same scene together was a blast. The idea here is that after the events of Spirit Hunter NG, Ooe wants to continue investigating this world of spirits that she’s only now beginning to understand. And to do that, she needs help. NG already established her connection to Christie as a journalist — but Christie has an an intense, innate, spiritual power that is entirely untrained and untapped. What if Yasuoka became a bit of a mentor to her? And as a team, the three of them can investigate any number of issues.

Anybody else think Haruaki Abe is Yasuoka's mentee and possibly/likely also her grandchild?

Hear me out: Abe has very strong spiritual abilities, and he mentions he has a mentor who taught him all about the spiritual and supernatual, that they essentially "made him the man he is today". He also mentions being in a good mood because he was going to be seeing his mentor again the very day Yasuoka comes to the school to help Kujou. Abe also mentions that his mentor warned him off of the investigation into The Departed, just as Yasuoka was doing to everyone, and that his mentor says the vision of his death won't come true if he abandons the investigation now, implying his mentor is able to see or sense things that may come to pass, like a fortune teller such as Yasuoka would.

In reference to Maruhashi, Yasuoka says that young people (Marihashi's age) also have problems just like adults, even her grandchild, which means obviously, she has a grandchild, but also implying that her grandchild may be in that age range.

Ooooo hi hi! It's not much but...

It's essentially like a possible plot to Death Mark 3 lmao

Here's the barebones of it:

Yashiki is investigating a crazy amount of supernatural murders happening at a mental asylum (near a shrine- hint hint nudge nudge). He was requested by the founder's daughter who had heard about him from the Departed case.

Yashiki goes investigating, figuring out some of the patients had like a mini cult and they were worshipping this demon-like ghost. Yashiki puts two and two together that the dead patients were apart of this cult.

After this revelation, the demon-ghost thing appears to Yashiki- not knowing it marked him for possession.

Time skip to a few days later (bare with me here 💀), Mashita, Yasuoka, Ai, Moe's and Shou arrive at the asylum because Yashiki called them for extra assistance.

So everything is fine and dandy and the group finds the location of the ritual site for the cult- the closed off cathedral in the garden. Yashiki, not wanting to burden anyone else (especially Mashita), went alone.

At the cathedral, Yashiki gets trapped in there and the demon-ghost appears to him. The demon-ghost then possesses Yashiki.

It's been a few hours and Yashiki couldn't return. Everyone grew worried, especially Mashita. So everyone decides that Mashita should go and check to see of Yashiki is alive because he would be well-equipped for a situation like this, and he and Yashiki are "awfully close".

I don't want to spoil anything else, so that's it :D
