Sony terminates $10 billion merger with Zee Entertainment; seeks fee of $90 million on alleged breaching of the deal: Reports

Sony Group Corporation has officially terminated the much-talked-about two-year pursuit of merging with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited. The proposed deal aimed to amalgamate TV and streaming ventures in India under the ZEE umbrella. The news was confirmed on Monday, January 22, 2024.

After notifying the Tokyo Stock Exchange of the termination of the proposed merger, an official statement from Sony Pictures Entertainment read, “Culver Max Entertainment (CME) today issued notice to Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) terminating the agreement dated December 22, 2021, to merge ZEEL and CME. Although we engaged in good faith discussions to extend the end date under the merger cooperation agreement, we were unable to agree upon an extension by the January 21 deadline. After more than two years of negotiations, we are extremely disappointed that the closing conditions of the merger were not satisfied by the end date. We remain committed to growing our presence in this vibrant and fast-growing market and delivering world-class entertainment to Indian audiences.”

As per Variety, another statement from Sony Group read, “The merger did not close by the end date as, among other things, the closing conditions to the merger were not satisfied by then. [Sony Pictures Networks India] has been engaged in discussions in good faith to extend the end date but the discussion period has expired without an agreement upon an extension of the end date. As a result, on January 22, 2024, SPNI issued a notice to ZEEL terminating the definitive agreements.”

Sony Group’s statement also read that it “does not anticipate any material impact on its consolidated financial results as a result of the termination of the definitive agreements for the merger.”

Meanwhile, ZEE, in response, released their statement that read, “ZEEL’s Board of Directors is evaluating all the available options. Basis the guidance received from the board, ZEEL will take all the necessary steps to protect the long-term interests of all its stakeholders, including by taking appropriate legal action and contesting Culver Max and BEPL’s claims in the arbitration proceedings. ZEEL has displayed utmost commitment towards the merger by undertaking several permanent and irreversible steps, resulting in one-time and recurring costs for ZEEL. Despite this, the company will continue to evaluate organic and inorganic opportunities for growth, leveraging the intrinsic value of its assets.”

Sony planned a $10 billion merger with Zee but now claims Zee breached the deal, seeking $90 million. In their statement, Zee has denied wrongdoing and rejected Sony's claims, stating they upheld the merger agreement. Initially, Sony was said to pay $100 million if the merger fell through, but now they're demanding $90 million from Zee.

Back in December 2021, Sony and ZEE signed definitive agreements to merge ZEEL with and into SPNI and combine their linear networks, digital assets, production operations and program libraries. The agreements followed the conclusion of an exclusive negotiation period during which ZEEL and SPNI conducted mutual due diligence. After closing, the new combined company was to be publicly listed in India. The closing of the transaction was subject to certain customary closing conditions, including regulatory, shareholder, and third-party approvals.

Spotify: कई गानों का बॉक्स ऑफिस जिसमें आपकों आता हैं एक पार्टी जैसा फील जीं हाँ हम बात कर रहें हैं Spotify एप, की जिसने अपने प्लेटफॉर्म से कई बॉलीवुड गानों को हटा दिया है। आखिर क्यों ? सवाल उठता हैं कि जिस एप के द्वारा लाखों करोड़ो लोग गानें सुनना पसंद करते हैं, उसी एप से ये सदाबहार और बॉलीवुड गानों का कलेक्शन क्यों हटाया गया है।

दोनों कंपनियों के बीच लाइसेंसिंग समझौता खत्म होने के बाद कंपनी ने Zee Music द्वारा रिलीज किए गए गानों को हटाने का फैसला किया है।

Spotify ने बार-बार देखो से काला चश्मा, अपना बना ले, बाजीराव मस्तानी से मल्हारी, जर्सी से कलंक, मैय्या मैनु, ड्राइव से मखना, केदारनाथ से नमो नमो के साथ ZEE Music के कई गानों को हटा दिया है। क्योंकि स्पॉटिफाई की Zee Music के साथ भारत में लाइसेंसिंग की डील खत्म हो चुकी है।

बतादें कि बॉलीवुड गानों के फैंस अब Zee Music द्वारा ऑडियो-स्ट्रीमिंग प्लेटफॉर्म पर रिलीज किए गए गाने नहीं सुन पाएंगे। Spotify इस बात की को प्रूफ किया है कि उसने Zee Music के साथ लाइसेंसिंग समझौते तक पहुंचने में विफल रहने के बाद कई बॉलीवुड गानों को अपने प्लेटफॉर्म से हटा दिया है।

Aug 2023 Wk 3

Ongoing Series - Thai

Laws of Attraction (Sat iQIYI) 6 of 8 - Oh no. I am totally in love with the escaped young master & his smitten bodyguard. How did that happen? (Be careful P’Thee the broken ones are the most tempting. Tin understands.) NO SINGING! Trust Thai BL to destroy any moment of sentiment I might have by picking up a damn guitar. And we finally get Charn’s Batman villain origin story. Good use of back hug! This is a GREAT show. Melodramatic as fuck, but GREAT. Gotta say this pair in NOT Thailand’s best kissers but not everyone can be Zee++. Still I think that + singing + a touch of overacting is likely to keep this out of the 10/10 club.

Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 1 of 12 - Rich /poor dynamic with characters & set up exactly as expected. Chimon is great. Perth is good too. A real rich-kid bully, Heirs level or Japanese F4 evil. All the teachers are also corrupt (that’s kinda a Thai thing, I think because they can't call out the government). I gotta say, Marc is doing a bang-up job as the jock friend, too. And the kiss twist was fun. All in all, this is good. And you know me, I love a high school BL.

I Feel You Linger in the Air (Sat YT) ep 1 of 12 - The time travel historical romance many of us have been waiting for. Adaption of y-novel by Violet Rain, from the producers of Lovely Writer. Heartbroken architect is transported to the 1930s. Nonkul (actor playing Jom) keeps reminding me of Cho Han Gyeol from Love Mate. It’s a bit slow to start but interesting when it hits its stride. The pacing feels like a Chinese historical (makes me wonder if this with be 4 or 6 act structure). Nonkul is a wonderful actor. They weren’t sharing the screen for long, but the leads seem good together. I’m in.

Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 2 of 10 - Well. It’s entertaining, I'll say that for it. Addiction. Manipulation. Queer as folk & all that jazz. (No jazz for you, Thailand. Oh no! I’m giving them ideas.) I would like it to turn out that Mew is actually manipulating everything. This is his revenge con on Top. Mew is, after all, supposed to be "the smart one." Gotta say, this is darn near perfect casting. But honestly? This show could just be about Ray & Sand. Their story (and them in it) is easily the most riveting. Sand better be careful, the wildly broken ones are always the best in bed, because they don’t care ao they have no shame and that's HOT.

Hidden Agenda (Sun GMMTV YouTube) ep 6 of 10 - I like how soft Joke’s version of seme flirting is. It’s mellow, like his voice gets with Zo. I also liked Zo casually chatting to his friends about how he feels about being flirted with. His friends gave good advice & were supportive. Oh no! A boy in a BL went into the rain ALONE. What ON EARTH will happen next? The argument was interesting, because it gave us insight into Zo’s maturity & ability to handle a relationship. I’ve been wondering why anyone would like him, and now I know. Joke & Nita’s backstory is fun. I like the gay boy protecting the straight girl reverse beard action. On a complete aside, I really like Dunk’s makeup in this series. It’s very Kdrama.

Low Frequency (Sat iQIYI) ep 7 of 8 - The house ghosts trying to help are cute. The plot is at least... a plot? I don’t know. Dias Ex Mafia is a new one on me. (COME ON THAT’S A GREAT PUN, PRAISE ME!) I’m ready for this show to be over.

Be Mine Super Star (Mon Viki) ep 7 of 12 - Honestly, the whole time I’m watching this I’m just thinking I wish JaFirst got better scripts. Speaking of, I don’t object, but these characters sure moved into sex fast. I really don’t quite understand how Daddy & Hot Doc got together so fast either. It feels like their story was meant to be spread out into the other episodes but didn’t get cut in properly, so it ended up all in this one? Or is it just the pacing is particularly bad in this show?

Dinosaur Love (Sun iQIYI) ep 8 of 10 eps - I have no idea what is going on. What are all of Dino’s friends doing? What do they want? what’s their point in the story? I’m even annoyed by Peak, and love him. Sex scene which they tried to make sexy. Operative word being tried. Although, there was some interesting after sex discussion about mechanics. And there was a cute bathtub chat about pet names. But this show is a lotta work for very little pay out.

Wedding Plan (Wed YT & iQIYI) ep 5 of 7 - I like the sunshine sides? PUNCH LOM 2023! Trash watch here!

Love in Translation (Sat iQIYI) ep 1 of 10 - Pushy older bro is Earn from Love Sick, yay! And he’s the hyung of a side couple, which is "best friend’s older brother" trope! My favorite!!!! Have we seen this in BL before? I don't think so. Anyway, DOUBLE YAY! The main couple… eh. You know I loathe stalker characters. And I viscerally HATE this one. Almost as bad as SCOY, not sure I can take it, actually. The squealing of "Tammy!" is worse on my ear than any off-key guitar strumming. I may have to DNF or fast forward through all his parts… but he’s the lead. What to do? I do like the “Chinese” businessman actor. He very cute. (On an aside, I was just reading about commercial real estate as the loophole for foreign property investors in Thailand. Cool plot point.) I’m getting a Taming of the Shrew vibes from this. Just me? For now it's living at the bottom of the list for sheer unadulterated loathing of Phumjai. Not the actor, he was my favorite and only good thing about Our Days. But this character? NO.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Jun & Jun (Korea Thur Viki) ep 5 of 8 - This is basically the gay Boys Over Flowers of my heart. Or as close as I think we’ll get from BL. I like both of the 2nd leads, even though I suspect Simon of actually being into everyone’s fav hyung. Cute to see the Mr Heart boys back on my screen, oh so briefly. Such a Taiwan trick, reusing a beloved couple like that. Nice gimmie to the fans. Meanwhile, Choi Jun - boy sure knows his angles but his motives? Please don’t let this be another arranged marriage beard situation? I can’t take 2 in the same month.

Stay By My Side (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 8 of 10 - The boyfriends ep! JC is biggest simp spoiling his baby EVER. Taiwan = the sappiest of saps. “Owning the same key” is such a cute way of putting it. Also I love the "knew all along" twist, made me happy. The angst is silly but that's normal in Taiwanese BL.

Love Class Season 2 (Korea Fri Viki) eps 3-4 of 10 - Pair 1: Lee Hyun is such a wide-open, bleeding, no-shame romantic. It’s kinda great. Boy has a poet’s soul & NO artifice. J-Min is startlingly good, very nuanced. I know I keep saying that, but I’m v surprised by his skillz. And… add in creepy stalker, goody. Pair 2: The "other student couple" I’m not into, also NO SINGING. Pair 3: The underwear gift was so fucking funny. “I’m going reap the boxers I sewed” is next level script excellence. These two are brilliant at gayest-of-gay flirt-negging, I'm INTO IT. One of my housemates said, in response to my audible cackling, "You seem to be enjoying your shows extra much tonight."

My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 2 of 8 - Oh I love love love them. It’s so old school yaoi and SO JBL. No other country could produce this kind of show. I love this little feminist aspect where the weatherman treats his boy like a 1950s housewife & said boy thinks that makes him an indentured servant. Clocks. But also, the way our weatherman LOOKS at his boy. He is so in love. (It looks like we skip next week for holiday reasons?)

Sing My Crush (Korea Wed iQIYI) eps 5-6 of 8 - It remains enjoyable.

Minato's Laundromat Season 2 AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2 (Japan Thu Gaga) ep 6 of 12 - At least we know Minato actually desires Shin, he just won’t do anything about it. Also, Minato chose the perfect person to come out to. That's nice for him. Finally, Shu & Asuka are glorious. Sides are winning these days.

Stay Still (Hong Kong Tues YouTube) ep 3 of 5 - A proper faen fatal has entered one of our couples. She won too, since she ended up marrying the boy. Still not sure about this show (and it should have convinced me by now). I definitely like the tattoo couple better than the reunion couple. Still, not a lot happened in this episode and this is short series, they don’t have time to waste. It remains intriguing but not... erm... good.

In case you missed it

River Knows Fish Heart is leaving Gaga soon. It's a decent little bully romance Chinese BL (pulp) - yes, you read that right. Actual CBL. Not great, but if you're into the CBL stuff, especially the early stuff, this has some of that tenor only made in 2018 (I have a feeling it was shot in 2017 and skated through). Anygay, just staying. Catch it before it disappears because with CBL once they gone, often, they gone forever.

Friend. Boy Friend a new Thai BL pulp was supposed to start airing on Aug 19th. I can't find it. Neither can MDL.

8/22 Kisseki: Dear to Me formerly known as Miracle (Taiwan Tues Viki & iQIYI) 13 eps - From screenwriter Lin Pei Yu (We Best Love, H3: Trapped) features a student doctor forced to take care of a gangster. I love the premise and like the writer.

8/23 Why R U? (Korean remake iQIYI) 8 eps - I find everything about this hilarious. I mean if Korea remakes it, we lose all the sexy and then... would we have a story at all? No we would not. Not even for 8 short eps. It’d be like one of those mesh shopping bags.

8/24 Man Suang (Thailand movie, domestic cinema release) - historical drama about Thai burlesque with KP’s MileApo.

First impressions on every contestant!

Warning this gets long.

Millie

Was really interested on the possibility of a nerdy character from her introduction, but I feel like my biggest gripe with her is the whole “my generation” thing, it just feels slightly mean spirited and not realistic for a personality trait. Teens generally don’t like being told that their generation sucks or that they’re all dumb or have their use of technology criticized. The ones that do dislike their generation are those either trying to receive approval from older people or “I was born in the wrong generation” type kids. She’s just, unrelatable.

Axel

Her voice is higher than I expected, I like the survival theme and was surprised we got another zombie conspiracy nut in the cast (so happy we got a Shawn cameo/reference as well!) she really is like a mix of Jo and Eva with a sprinkle of Shawn and I wish we got to see more of her!

Priya

Super interesting to see a contestant raised by TD fans, and her intro was amazing! Baby and toddler Priya! Owen reference! She is 100% going to be an interesting character. I guess there’s also a subversion of a big Desi stereotype with her, she wants to go to med school but her parents want her to enter a more unconventional and unstable field, I don’t know exactly how to feel about this, specially since I’m not desi myself.

Zee

My man!!! I love me a skater/surfer dude and the Jude vibes are impeccable!! He is so chill and just here to vibe. I’ve audibly laughed at multiple of his lines and just love him so much. I also think he’s neat amputee rep, he’s casual about it and was just born that way, but can make fun stories up about it.

Ripper

Am I disappointed by the fart and potty jokes? Yes, but besides that I actually really like his character! An annoying bully who despite his best efforts is a loser. Also if his voice doesn’t fuel the nowen child headcanons out there I don’t know what will.

Damien

A total newbie! Very opposite to Priya in this case and also super interesting character trait for him, I hope both him and Priya can function a bit to show off the POV of both old and new fans alike. He’s also very entertaining :)

Scary girl

Exactly what I expected from her and more! She is very much one dimensional compared to most the rest but I love her! I love wildcards! So excited to see her shenanigans

Bowie

Introducing yourself as the first openly gay contestant is definitely a first impression! I’ve got to say I adore his competitive and scheming nature and you can tell he’s in it to win it, he also has amazing social skills and is overall an icon. I know not everyone will be into the idea of the first openly queer contestant being very stereotypical but I’ve always thought that just as while his sexuality isn’t the center of his personality and there’s at least another queer character that isn’t as stereotypical it’s all good, and by the looks of it that will be the case. Also I know multiple gay dudes that act just as him so I have a bias.

Chase

Did not expect a stunt Youtuber type guy but I definitely should’ve seen it coming, also DRAMA?? Pre established EXES??? I am so interested in seeing how this pans out

Emma

I love her voice first of all and I did not expect her to have been part of the stunt Youtuber group, hope the ex drama isn’t all there is to her character and I really enjoy her friendship with Bowie so far!

Oh I love her, we haven’t seen a character like her before and she has so much potential! A character that knows she’s underestimated and takes advantage of that? Yes please!

Caleb

Pretty much a Justin copy, I can’t really say much about him and we knew how things were going to pan out so I can only hope he’ll make if farther and get more development next season.

Wayne & Raj

Hockey dudes! They’re such jocks and can sense the “makes fun of me lightly for being unathletic but cheers for me when I finally start participating in sports” energy from them so hard, they’re fun guys and feel so much like real teen boys.

Nichelle

An actual TV star! I didn’t see that coming but I love it! Love seeing the little flashbacks to her shows and movies and seeing someone in the show be treated as an actual celebrity, she’s also as far as I’ve seen pretty smart, level headed, and humble for a TV celebrity! So interested in seeing her work!

Julia

The influencer chick! Her intro was amazing and I definitely didn’t expect her to be into healing crystals, feel like she’ll be a very interesting character and I await her interactions with Nichelle.

RAHHH I MADE THIS AU W A FRIEND @gumitoes (gmito28 ON INSTA GO FOLLOW 🦅🦅🦅) we literally just screamed abt it in one go thru dms and I'm just regurgitating it here so enjoy

Hobie owns this antique store that sells all kinds of old stuff that even he doesn't know where it came from. He kinda took over it after working as a part timer there when the old owner passed.

One day he finds this jade coin that looks like SUPER out of place cause it's really clean looking and almost glowing if he squinted.

So he holds it up to inspect it but when he takes it away again, he finds himself in a completely different location.

Unbeknownst to him, the jade coin is a key to the spirit realm and acts as a gateway which accidentally brought him there.

The jade coin also belongs to the spirit (Jia) who manages a certain domain of the spirit world known for entertainment especially gambling.

So he kind of stumbles around the spirit world a little disoriented and confused cause one: spirit logic and magic and shid and two: the aesthetic of this spirit world is very different to where he lives (london..?)

But at one point he finds a seemingly 'abandoned' store and enters. Unknowingly, the building belonged to a spirit, Zee (GUMI'S CHARACTER RAHH 💥💥) who helps Jia run a casino (her main establishment) discovers that the jade coin is in his possession and takes him to meet her. Although the meeting was a bit startling since she had a gun pointed to his back AHSHAHSHSJ

--> The casino acts as second chances for souls to win certain wishes ie. visit human world as ghost, more idk ghost powers and shied, etc

And ofc he's not dumb and recognises that the jade coin has some form of importance and essentially bargains with Jia to let him go back or at least teach him how to go back.

(Maybe win/bet on a game but he's just crazy lucky and manages to beat her) she's just like 😧

He manages to return back to his little shop in london but ever since visiting the spirit world he has this nagging curiosity abt the world since it's so incredibly different.

And so he would go exploring in the spirit world, occasionally taking back antiques. However he realises he'd totally get super lost in this new place and somehow coerces Jia into acting as his spirit tour guide HAHSJA

Jia isn't super strict on rules and stuff unlike other leading spirits of other domains so she kinda just goes 🤷‍♀️ and follows him around.

Because he's human it sometimes causes conflicts with more aggressive spirits but because the jade coin has a form of connection to Jia, it acts as a summoning object to summon her if he ever needs to.

Like she'll literally appear in a cloud of smoke and then cast some spirit spells or smth HAHSHA

Over time, he spends more and more time in the spirit world but it has consequences on his soul as it starts to wander from his mortal body.

And at the point where his soul finally fades to fix itself into the spirit world, Jia essentially see his mortal body disintegrate in front of her,

However he doesn't seem alarmed at all in a way where it seems like he knew it was going to happen to him. He was willing to take the risk to continue exploring the spirit world as well as by her side.

Over the next few days or so, his soul needs to be readjusted to the spirit world so his presence disappears for a while (standard soul procedure and stuff) but Jia never stopped looking for him.

Until the day she finally sees him again but souls don't recall memories of when they were alive, he forgot about her since the time he spent with her was when he was still alive.

She feels so guilty for what had happened as she spends another couple of days before finally deciding that she was willing to trade her souls for a him to be resurrected in the human world again since he didn't even die fairly.

Forgive the lazy and rough graphic but, Season 2 team ideas?

Should note I made these with the self imposed and probably unnecessary restrictions of having an equal split of former Ferocious Trout and Frogs of Death members.

Splitting up both Wayne & Raj and, to a lesser extent, Millie & Pryia just feels very natural to me. Wayne & Raj were nearly always together so separating them AND making them compete against each other is just a natural source of conflict. Whereas Millie was of course very dependent on Pryia during the first season to make it far so isolating them from each other seems like the natural next step. This would force Millie to try to make new allies and use whatever skills that stuck from Pryia’s training.

Having Bowie/Raj and Emma/Chase on the same team not only creates the contrast of a very healthy couple vs a very toxic one, but also forces interaction between Bowie and Emma after their fallout.

Also for Bowie, there’s drama in him interacting with Caleb, as he would now know that it was Bowie who got him voted out day one. His reaction in the first episode tells me he wouldn’t let that go.

Axel and Scary Girl can kind of work on any team, so I don’t have much to say for them. Though I do think the idea of Axel and Bowie contrasting against each other to be rather funny.

(I know a lot of people want a Lauren-Damien-Pryia thing to happen and I support that, I just think it can happen with not all of them being on the same team)

I’d like to see Julia and MK on the same team again. It was MK who jumpstarted Julia’s whole villain arc and, more notably, it was Julia who got MK eliminated, which she’d definitely not be over. I could definitely see them having a strong rivalry, or a bit of a villainous alliance. Either way I think they should be gay about it.

Speaking of MK being eliminated, I’m imagining her line about “At least [she] didn’t make any friends” to be some sort of foreshadowing. Who’s the character I think has the best shot of being an actual friend to her? That’d be Zee. He’s shown to be able to get along with pretty much anyone. MK typically avoids having any deep interactions with other characters by overloading her conversations with sarcastic insults, and I literally couldn’t imagine Zee actually comprehending that she’s insulting him. Instead, he thinks they’re just having a pleasant conversation. I see them becoming ‘friends’ by Zee just hanging around her a lot and MK eventually getting used to it (and start to enjoy his company, not that she’d admit that).

In contrast, I actually like the idea of there being someone Zee doesn’t like, that being Nichelle. In Taste Buddies there’s that whole exchange with Julia and Zee about how rather than him not wanting to talk about a very disgusting alien movie because it was gross, he didn’t want to talk about it because he felt it was a weak directorial effort. I could imagine this idea of Zee being a bit of a film buff being expanded to him not vibing with Nichelle like he does everyone else because he finds the movies she stars in to be vapid or something along those lines. I easily see this bothering Nichelle since she’s so used to being praised and beloved. (Should note: I saw someone else come up with this concept, but I don’t remember where)

Speaking of Nichelle, something I’d like to see is her being contrasted with Priya, as she’s someone who actually has the skills everyone believed Nichelle to have. Though, I like the idea of despite that, they actually end up bonding, as I could see Priya’s parents making sure she knows a lot about the entertainment industry (both because of Total Drama of course being a show and in case of a TDA like season) and them getting along from there.

I also want to keep Priya and Damien on the same team. Wether it be to develop them romantically or further their friendship, I’d just like to see more of them together. Maybe make up for the lack of ‘knows everything about TD vs knows nothing about TD’ interactions that I’m surprised we didn’t get in the first season. Maybe they could even have a bit of a brains and brawn duo thing going on.

I don’t have too many thoughts on Ripper, I’m kind of imaging him as an early boot this time around. Still, this gives him a chance to interact with characters he hasn’t before. And maybe Priya finds out he was who suggested that Millie cut her raft, and something happens from that? Could be something there.

Ok, so this has been in my brain a while, so hear me out.

Priya, Millie, Zee, Emma, Wayne, and Raj playing dnd with Damien as the dm.

Damien would be a good dm bc he's chill and kind and can infodump about stuff in the form of a campaign. I feel like he'd be good at worldbuilding tbh. I can imagine him having played dnd before with his friends.

I feel like Damein would approach Priya and Millie to ask if they would want to try dnd because he thinks they would like it and he wants to play dnd with his new friends. In my mind, Priya would play an elf paladin. Paladin because of her training her whole life, being so focused on winning, and being incredibly strong. Elf because I feel like out of all the fantasy races, she'd be the most familiar with elves because they're practically everywhere. Millie is harder to pin down to me, but I feel like she'd play a wizard. They have a lot of books and are probably the ones writing spells, and she can research the world around her as a wizard with so many tomes. I'm not sure what race she would play, but maybe a human or an elf to go with Priya.

Zee would get asked to join the campaign next because he's just so chill and down for pretty much anything. Zee feels very druid to me. They're just so chill and kind and would probably be down to lay in the grass for a couple of hours, just chilling. Also, because of their stoner vibes. Again, I'm not sure what race Zee would play. They'd be down with anything. Though, I think it'd be funny if Zee chose to play a really short character like a gnome when he himself is really tall.

I feel like Emma would be dragged into playing dnd by Zee because they think Emma would like it. Emma would probably also be good as a druid. She'd probably want to befriend all the animals and druid is a good class for that. She'd also do pretty good as a bard. She's an entertainer in her own right with all the streams she's done with Chase and presumably by herself. I think she'd enjoy bard spells and cantrips like Dancing Lights so she can have her own little dance party. She can even play her own dance music if she chooses to be a musical bard. I feel like she’d have fun playing an aasimar tbh.

Either Damien or Zee ask Wayne and Raj if they want to play dnd with them because they are all friends. Wayne and Raj would probably want to be the same class so they’re a duo. I'd say paladin because they're both strong and hockey gear could be considered armor, but then there'd be three paladins. Another option I have for them is barbarians. They're both strong and stupid, like barbarians typically are, and I feel like they'd do best as physical attackers instead of trying to figure out the math for spell stuff. For races I feel like they’d find out they can be bird people (Aarakocras) so they both wanna be snow owls but then Wayne finds out about tabaxis and gets excited to do cat things as a cat person so he gets to play a tabaxi. Then they’re a snow owl aarakocra barbarian and an orange tabaxi barbarian.

1876 – Manuel De Falla, Spanish composer, born (d.1946); Pablo Picasso is quoted as saying that he considered de Falla the shyest man he had ever met, "even smaller than myself, and as modest and withdrawn as an oyster shell ..." He was said to have been involved in a ménage á trois with composer Maurice Ravel and pianist Ricardo Viñes.

De Falla became close friends with Diaghalev and Massine, with whom he collaborated on The Three-Cornered Hat. It was, incidentally, immediately after the first performance of this ballet, that Massine announced his engagement to Lydia Sokolova, who had just performed the leading role, and was then dismissed from the Ballet Russes by the enraged Diaghelev.

1924 – The famed British-American anthropologist Colin Turnbull was born on this date (d.1994). Best known for this groundbreaking books The Forest People & The Mountain People, Turnbull was also one of the first anthropologists to work in the field of ethnomusicology.

Turnbull was an unconventional scholar who rejected neutrality. He idealized the BaMbuti and reviled the Ik, and described the latter as lacking any sense of altruism, in that they force their children out of their homes at the age of three, and gorge on whatever occasional excesses of food they might find until they became sick, rather than save or share. However, several anthropologists have since argued that a particularly serious famine suffered by the Ik during the period of Turnbull's visit may have distorted their normal behavior and customs, and some passages in his book make it clear that the behavior and customs of the Ik during the period he describes were drastically different from what was normal for them before they were uprooted from their original way of life.

In the US, he lived with his professional collaborator and partner of 30 years, the African American Dr. Joseph Towles, as an openly gay, interracial couple in one of the most conservative areas of the 1960s - rural Virginia.

During this time he also took up the political cause of death row inmates. After his partner's death in 1988, Turnbull, strongly affected, gave all his belongings to the United Negro College Fund. In 1989, he moved to Bloomington, Indiana to participate to the building of Tibetan Cultural Center with his friend Thupten Jigme Norbu, elder brother of the 14th Dalai Lama. In 1991 - 1992, he moved to Dharamsala, India where he took the monks' vow of Tibetan Buddhism, given to him by the Dalai Lama. He was then given a buddhist name.

He died in Virginia in 1994, aged 69. Both Towles and Turnbull died from complications of AIDS.

1933 – The New York tabloid Broadway Brevities, under the headline "Fags Tickle Nudes," published an article warning that "Pansy men of the nation" were invading steam baths and turning them into replicas of the orgy houses in Rome at the time of Nero.

1968 – Joe Zee is a Hong Kong-born Canadian fashion stylist, journalist, and producer, known for Entertainment Tonight (1981), FABLife (2015) and Celebrity Style Story (2012). Zee served as creative director of Elle for seven years. He became editor-in-chief and executive creative officer of Yahoo! Style in April 2014. He resigned from Yahoo in June 2017.

Zee was born in Hong Kong and at the age of one, moved to Toronto where he grew up. He began working in fashion in 1990, at age 22, and ultimately moved to New York City enrolling at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

In the mid-1990s, Zee met stylist Lori Goldstein at an Allure party, and soon became her assistant.

Zee was a recurring character as boss of the reality series The City. He has also appeared on episodes of Ugly Betty, Mistresses, and General Hospital as himself. He was one of the co-hosts of the ABC daytime talk show The Fab Life.

In 2010, he made an appearance on Gossip Girl as himself.In 2015, he released his book That's What Fashion Is: Lessons and Stories from My Nonstop, Mostly Glamorous Life in Style. Zee is married to Rob Younkers, host of Logo TV's Secret Guide to Fabulous

1989 – On this date the Natural Bears Classification System was unveiled on a Usenet group. The NBCS or "bear code" is a set of symbols using letters, numbers and other characters commonly found on modern, Western computer keyboards, and used for the self-identification of those who self-identify as "bears" in the sense of a mature gay or bisexual man with facial or substantial body hair. This classification scheme was created by Bob Donahue and Jeff Stoner, and was based on the way in which star and galaxy classification systems used characteristics of an object to derive a classifying identifier.

1996 – Elton John was honored as the founder of the Elton John AIDS Foundation at a gala celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.

2006 – Israel's Supreme Court recognizes foreign same-sex marriages.

2014 – In Brazil, the world's first largest same-sex wedding with 160 couples takes place in Rio de Janeiro. It was the fifth time mass same-sex weddings were held in Brazil. (The following year 185 couples married.) Claudio Nascimento of Rio Sem Homophobia (Rio without Homophobia) says, "It is an affirmative action to call attention to all of the achievements and challenges in the area of civil and human rights of the LGBT community." Brazil broke the Guinness World Record for the largest pride parade in 2009 with 4 million attendees. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Brazil since May 16, 2013, though it had already been legally recognized since 2004.

Have some Clifford x Zee headcannons, chatting about their dynamic with @jjsesame is really starting to win me over on them being a couple!~

-Zee more so then Clifford likes to keep people guessing, so keeping their relationship a secret is all like a fun game to her. She's not against people finding out if they do, but seeing people trying to figure her out is entertaining. The two will exchange really quick kisses when no body is looking, Clifford's hand will be on her hip and hers on his, they'll hug for a few seconds longer then they do with others. If anyone ever asks Zee will wink mysteriously and say "A lady doesn't kiss and tell~"

-Zee likes to "walk" her fingers along Clifford's shoulders when she's feeling playful, and always delights in the way he'll straighten up for a few seconds before he relaxes.

-Clifford in turn when he wants to surprise her will blow on her ear or whisper something to startle her. Clifford can be surprisingly sneaky when he wants to be

-Based off clips from Muppets Tonight I think Clifford would be the one that's more likely to get jealous. Whenever Zee is being flirted with by someone else Zee is nothing but polite smiles, he knows Zee is an adult and he knows she's faithful, but he can't help it sometimes. His go to method for dealing with this is to sidle right up next to Zee and put a hand on her hip while addressing her as baby as he greets her. Zee will only tease him a little once they're behind closed doors, but assures him he's the only one for her

-While it's rare, Zee can also get jealous sometimes. With her having a teacher career alongside her singing and dancing she has a load of patience and resting calm face, so it take's quite a bit before she's actually bothered by something. However Clifford does work in show business and does occasionally get flirty comments from others that Zee isn't okay with. Her go to method is to hug Clifford from behind without saying a word and resting her head on the back of his shoulder, humming. Since her getting jealous is a rarity Clifford often likes to tease her when it's just the two of them alone, Zee will calmly remind Clifford that she's just showing people he's off the market

-They dress the fuck up for dates. Clifford is a fashion icon with all his suits and fancy décor, and Zee loves her fashion just as much. The two sometimes spend entire dates just going shopping for new outfits, sometimes they'll shop for each others outfits

-Speaking off clothes Zephyr is a shameless clothes theif. If Zee ever stays round at Clifford's she loves to nick his clothes, mostly cuz he's taller then her so his clothes are baggy and comfortable to wear. I imagine Clifford was caught off guard by this at first but now he loves seeing Zee wear his stuff. It's domestic and sweet and he'll sometimes even leave a spare shirt out for her if she wants it

-After Muppets Tonight I like to think Clifford went into a modelling career and occasional helps on the show with presenting/anything to do with the band. When Zephyr isn't booked out preforming on shows or at local pubs she's teaching, which means her and Clifford often text during the day. Despite being a teacher and generally the most level headed out of Zoot's cousins Zephyr likes to use emojis a lot when she's messaging him. Clifford doesn't use them as much but he'll include a heart sometimes

-Zee's favourite thing to flirt with Clifford is twirl his moustache around her finger

-They like karaoke dates, Zee is an excellent singer and dancer thanks to her career and Clifford has a very smooth voice which is perfect for karaoke date nights! They often order alcohol, and since Zee isn't a big drinker Clifford is often the one to end up tipsy or just full blown drunk. He's a very goofy, clumsy drunk, and Zee finds him rather adorable in this state (when Zee gets drunks she's sort of the same but less clumsy and more clingy, she uses more dumb, corny flirts when drunk)

-When they're cuddled together on Clifford's sofa they have their go to positions for cuddling: Clifford can get stressed from work sometimes, and when this happens he likes to lay ontop of Zee while she runs her fingers through his dreads. If he's not as stressed he'll lay behind Zee and she'll have her back to his chest.

-Clifford likes to call Zephry baby, Zee and babe. Zephyr likes to call Clifford honey, babe and boo

-Not really Clifford related but I think it'd be sweet if Janice was one of the few who knew about Clifford and Zee being together. The two often gossip about Clifford and Floyd respectively and their impressive moustaches

Hi, friends. I took three plane rides in the last week, and while I was up in the air, I had some unhinged thoughts. I decided to write down all of these thoughts and share them. Because what is this blog without its unhinged moments? Some of these are new headcanons I now have. Some are just the most random shit I've ever thought of. Please enjoy. Without further ado, I present:

Thoughts from planes with Zee (an unhinged and incomplete list)

-I hate the fic theme that Wille just cries at any inconvenience. Gives me the ick. Like yeah, some of the time he’d probably cry. But like, baby, he just dropped a pen. He’s fine.

-(This one really came from Mona @youngroyalsrewatch) The idea that Micke isn’t homophobic because he was quick to change his sentence when Simon reminded him he was gay is problematic. Because Micke forgetting his son is gay is in and of itself homophobic.

-The Society’s theme song can be pretty much any song by Panic! At the Disco and it would be right. “let’s kill tonight” “crazy=genius” “victorious” “roaring 20s” the list goes on.

-Golf on TV by Lennon Stella gives MAJOR happy Wilmon vibes

-Madison is 100% a Hozier stan and I support that.

-Simon and Wille probably both think they’re unlovable.

-ENTIRELY OFF TOPIC but I just saw a cloud that looked like Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda

-Rosh, Ayub, and Simon walk around the streets of Bjärstad in the middle of the night. They sneak out to do it. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them, and this is a thing now.

-Unrelated, but Omar songs+watching the sunrise from a plane = a whole vibe

-Fredrika doesn’t do casual crushes. She just doesn’t. They consume her. Devastation occurs after she stops liking them.

-Wille likes sunrise. Simon likes sunset.

-Wilmon is definitely the couple who call each other 5 times a day when one is traveling.

-Henry has only ever gotten into one fight, but he won

-Sometime in the future, Wille gets into a car accident and Simon has his first panic attack ever because this isn’t the first time a crown prince has been in a car wreck.

-I feel like Wille and Felice jokingly call each other “Romeo” and “Juliet” as a nod to how bad of a couple they’d be. Because Romeo and Juliet died, you know?

-Screwed related: Ebba is the biggest Taylor Swift fan and has an unhealthy relationship with the song tolerate it. I’ve decided. It's a thing now.

-Walter likes Chase Atlantic.

-I just sent the most unhinged pirate au plot to Dani (@the-navistar-carol). I hope she’s entertained.

-Omg season two is coming out soon, and I am absolutely not prepared for that.

Increased rates of deaths in terminal patients has a police captain investigating the palliative care doctor with whom he's fallen in love. Their relationship deepens but the mystery persists, driven by mistrust.

Why? It's adapted from the novel Euthanasia by Sammon (Triage, Manner of Death) but more important, it stars some old guard BL actors: Tor Thanapob from Hormones as the doctor and (fuck me YES) Jaylerr from Great Men Academy and goddamn Grean Fictions as the captain!

2 Wandee Godday

GMMTV and AllThis Entertainment producing a very pulp offering with new pair, GreatInn doing high heat, boxer meets surgeon. It features a one night stand, fake relationship, and all the cheesiest of tropes. Also features Drake, Podd, and Thor+ pretty boy (be still my heart).

Why? This is totally my kind of BL even if it isn't GMMTV's style of BL, and it's GREAT, so I'm in.

3 The Next Prince (ZeeNew)

Domundi brings us more ZeeNew in a fantasy/historical set in a palace where Zee plays a knight and Nu a prince - YES PLEASE.

Why? I did not expect this pair to stick so I really hope this happens. Give us the Little Pink Riding Milk BL we deserve!

Fantasy BL about a man who falls in love with a merman.

Why? I don't think it will be good but I LOVE merfolk.

5 Me and Who

Domundi for WeTV brings this adaptation of Wickedwish’s novel of the same name. It depicts a young man who dies and is reborn into the body of a billionaire heir. The heir happens to be engaged to a handsome man.

Why? I flipping LOVE this trope but I never expected to see it drive a BL.

TAIWAN's Love For Love's Sake

Based on the Manhwa Love Supremacy Zone by Hwacha, this will star actors Lee Tae Vin, Cha Jun Wan, Oh Min Su and Cha Woon Ki. The plot of the drama is based on Tae Myung Ha, a young man who is dropped into a game based off of a novel that he knows. His mission is to make another player, Cha Yeo Woon happy. Cha Yeo Woon is Myung-Has favourite character in the novel. But then the game starts going completely different from the novel.

City of Stars AKA Fueangnakorn

Star Hunter started filming this 12/23 about an actor falls in love with a programmer and the narrative intends to “explore the ramifications of being public figure in the social network era who must endure critics, bullying, and defamation.” Looks like another Lovely Writer, Call It What You Want sort of thing.

Prior to this, the last time I saw Zim was on conventia.*

Zim and I lived together for a while; a year or so. He's a pariah, so I had to house him in secret. She went by Xeem for for a while. That was a fun year.

Zim brought me to earth as a plus one for a human mate unification celebration being thrown for his favorite Dib-monkey. What did they call it? A wed-ding? We had to wear nice gowns and fancy lace gloves, but the bar was bottomless and the humans were an entertaining bunch, so I can't complain. Actually, that wed-ding celebration was one of the funnest nights of my life...

We parted ways shortly after that. Zim decided to stay behind on Earth for a while. He never said why... Something told me I had done something or said something wrong, but I had no idea what and I didn't want to risk the comradery between us to ask or argue.

I had to return to my post or risk getting in trouble for abandoning my encoded occupation.

I kept asking around for leads and diligently watched the news stream for any clues about my blade team. The second my pub manager approved of it, I took time off to start my search again. I eventually found my missing blood blade teammates on the far outskirts of the foodcourtia system. Turns out my ladied were being held captive by Resisty rouges.*

My cruiser's point of impact was a twenty day march away from the others, but we eventually reuinted again.

*Poki was on a competitive blood blade team with Tak, Tenn, Yeet and their blade-leader, Zee. They showed up for practice one season and the only other teammate not on the public MIA drone list was Yeet.

*Poki, at the time the events of the 18YL au begins, has been demoted from Commander to a service drone because of drunkenness on duty. They work at a shady pub on Conventia as a tap drone (bartender).

Poki's alcoholism began in her early days as an elite soldier under late Lich's reign. They suffered abuse and several traumatic experiences because of their superior co-invader, Ziss, during Operation Stealthy Doom (invaders were sent to enemy planets in pairs then) She became a Commander after operation SD during Miyuki's reign.

So far, the list of Irkens who take refuge on Mem's mystery planet are Tak, Tenn, Zee, Floog and Larb. Skoodge ends up stranded there a little while, but leaves with one of Mem's daughters, Skathe.

Very rarely is a male tallest able to sire a swarm of his own. They have fertility issues too. (Sometimes they can't form a *sqwak. Others could, but their sqwak "lacks potency" or they're afraid their sqwak might be too long and literally impale a short drone. How attentive they are to their birthing drones depends on the tallest. Some barely interact with their birthing drones at all. They assign service drones and medical drones to tend to them. Others treated their birthing drones like a loving human husband would treat their wife and shower them with attention and perks.

*sqwak; a temporary, sharp-ended appendage that forms in irken males during mating seasons. Sqwaks break off after successfully penetraiting a females shmizz (a fleshy layer on the irken pelvic floor that forms a temporary uterus after being peirced by a sqwak.

Yes, if done improperly, mating for Irkens can be painful and cause death.
