Notes of an Irken Archeologist pt. 13
So I decided to leave! As in... I'm still on Earth, just, not in that exact place. I finally have a lead, and it's all thanks to Dib actually. So I'm doing him a favour and getting out of the picture. Maybe it's going to be better for Zim too. I think I'm more trouble than help for both of them anyway, with my damn allegience dilemmas.
I got a longer holiday at my job, which was surprisingly easy, and I'm currently going to a different continent, Asia, I think it's called. The reason being, there was an excavation there, long ago, which unearthed a pile of unknown metal that ... may be a wild goose chase, I don't have much more to go on and Dib said that he already knows it's not Irken. But one thing I'm pretty sure about is that with how expansive our history is, it's not actually that easy to label something as 'Irken' or 'not Irken' and while Dib may be an expert by human standards... Urgh, it's not saying much unfortunately. It's still amazing how much he has learnt from his enmity with Zim alone though. At any rate, I just want to check.
...and get away for a bit too.
I just hope Zim's ok in the meantime.
...he's been ok before, why wouldn't he be now, right?
Anyway.
This is more of a short status update, I guess. I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I haven't made any progress since I came to this planet so I can't help being a bit excited. I can even sometimes forget that I'm going to have to deal with humans, all by myself again!
Yeah, I'm totally not thinking about that!
Later.

Genshin Impact drabble
Childe X m!Traveler (alias: Valia)
"Oh shit—" Tartaglia cursed when the Traveler dashed at him right at the moment he attacked, even though his electric spear slashed the blonde's face. The man, though wounded, still managed to close the distance considerably and pierce his opponent's shoulder. Soon, the Harbringer found himself pinned to the floor as the last of the energy he's been using to hold onto his Foul Legacy form has been ripped away from him and the aftereffects hit immediately: all the exhaustion and pain attacking all at once. He struggled to keep a hold of all his senses and felt his opponent's weight on him, as well as his blood dripping onto his face. He managed to focus his vision and saw that the man also seemed exhausted, but there was a certain strength in it as he continued to stare Childe down in their peculiar situation.
"You can stop being so serious, comrade," he tried to give a lighthearted smile. "You've already won. You know I won't be getting up for a while now."
"Why did you go all out again? It was supposed to be a friendly match. And yet you hurt yourself just to get an edge."
"And you still beat me, so it wasn't a wasted effort. I can't take defeat without giving it all I've got, you should know that much already."
The blonde was silent, but he didn't relax.
"What, are you worried about me?" Childe smirked.
The Traveler suddenly broke eye contact, and stopped holding onto his defeated foe so tightly, seeming confused. But the hesitation lasted only a moment. He then looked right back and smiled with a weird gleam in his eye that Tartaglia wasn't sure how to interpret. "Yeah, I am actually," he said. "But only when I see you. Since you appear to really want me to kill you."
"Then why aren't you killing me? You could easily do so now. I am still with the Fatui and I will probably keep causing trouble for you. What's stopping you?"
The smile disappeared from the Traveler's face and he just kept staring into Childe's eyes.
"Valia," the defeated man said as he hoisted himself slightly up on his healthier arm, the one that wasn't skewered by the other's sword. But before he could find any comfortable position, his opponent suddenly got even closer and he felt his lips on his own, somehow both confident and questioning at the same time. Tartaglia had only a brief moment of surprise before he returned the kiss, struggling a bit to stay upright but Valia soon grabbed his back to hold him. He felt almost entranced for a moment before another voice broke him out of it.
"Aaaaalright, time out Valia, the weird perfume lady is one thing but that's still a Fatui—"
Both men stopped dead in their tracks and the Traveler suddenly hid his face in the other's shoulder for a moment before turning to his flying friend.
"Paimon, please, I know you're just worried, but please—!"
Childe suddenly burst into laughter that soon turned into pained coughing.
"Well, you sure know how to both build and break a tension, comrade."
The Traveler slowly stood up, swaying a little but also shooting Tartaglia a worried look.
"Well, maybe Paimon's idea of a time-out isn't that bad at this point."
"Of course it isn't!" the flying fairy crossed her arms. "You both really overdid it today!"
"Sure, mom," Valia snorted and then turned in a conspiratorial whisper to Childe, who managed to finally sit up somewhat properly. "I'm not bringing her next time."
"Hey—!"
"It's a date then?" Childe interrupted Paimon's another would be tangent and his questions was immediately answered with a content smile.
"Definitely."

prompt "comfort food"
V x Kerry
Kerry was completely lost in his mind and guitar for a long part of the day before the grumbling in his stomach finally started to affect his composing ability. He stood up, stretching, and suddenly realized that there was someone else in the living room. V was lying face down on the opposing couch, groaning ever so quietly.
"That bad, huh?" Kerry said, snarkily, which garnered a response of a surprised yelp and quite an amusing struggle not to fall off the couch.
"Naaah, it was quite relaxing actually, I'm just not feeling well," V answered, looking up at his input.
"Well, I'm hungry, so I thought I'd order something. You have some kind of comfort food?"
The younger man seemed lost in thought for a while before his eyes widened a bit and he finally replied, "You are my comfort food."
Kerry didn't answer for a long uncomfortable while and then burst out laughing, which soon garnered him a pillow to the head.
"Oh my world, you're horrible," he said, still laughing, but a bit calmer.
"I'm tired and I want sex, are you in or are you out?" V sat on the couch, slouching slightly.
"Alright, but then you'll make me some comfort food, eh?" Kerry smirked and sat on his lap.
"I can try—" V's answer was cut short with a kiss.

Dear Kerry,
This... Is not something I should be doing like this, I know. But I don't really have much time. And you might remember the last time I called you I wasn't exactly forthright, I wanted to hear your voice I wanted to give a sign but I was scared of anything more.
I still hope that you will never recieve this message. That I will come back, go into your villa like always, and hug you. But I can't keep lying to myself and everyone that it's not possible for me to lose.
What I want to say is, if you got this message, then I am most likely dead, to put it bluntly. I'm going to Mikoshi, it's desperate, but I'm trying to save my life. Maybe you will have heard something about it already. At any rate, I may be actually, physically dead or my mind is gone. Dunno which yet at this point.
If Johnny's still around, you can ask him what happened exactly. I really don't want you to be mad at him. At this point, if he ever really wanted to get my body he would have done so before. It's been a rough few weeks for both of us. And I know that it's gonna be even harder for him if he has to live in my body now. I can't tell you how to feel but...
I love you, I know it's selfish, I know I'm hurting you right now, and I'm sorry. You helped me so much just by giving me a reprieve, just by being genuine and I'm so glad I met you. I hope I haven't given you only pain. I hope your album is coming along great. I hope you can be happy.
And I still hope this mail will never get sent.
But if it does,
Goodbye.

Notes of an Irken Archeologist pt. 12
I haven't really written here in a while, haven't I.
I'm actually pretty busy lately, if you can believe it. I managed to get a job as a Food Drone on Earth actually. Or rather, a Food Stall Vendor, as my position is officially called. We sell ice cream, shakes, coffee, waffles and such. It's nice because I can actually eat most of the stuff we sell and I'm somewhat training myself to ignore my anxiety more. I also see Gir almost every day, which is unfortunately infuriating most of the time because he already destroyed the stall at least three times in the past month. But I also got to know more humans and I think I'm starting to understand how to fit in more and more so I'm pretty satisfied for now.
I think I even have a... Friend, I think. That's what Ada calls me at least. She's very outgoing and quite dense, but that's a good thing since I don't worry as much around her. I'm just satisfied to be her shadow most of the time. She works at the same stall on different shifts or we work together when it's especially busy.
Zim still calls on me for his miscallenious plans, and I think that's what I still don't know how to deal with sometimes. Especially when Dib gives me "that look", and I feel as if all of my newly gained confidence disappears in a flash. Not that there's still that much of it.
Well. I'm also trying to find more sources to continue my research but it's slow going. Maybe if I have something to show off, Dib will be finally more inclined to believe my intentions.
That's all for this note I think. Finally to the point this time.
Hopefully I'm going in the right direction.

Prompt: Kaoru participating in Kazuma's hobby even if it doesn't personally interest them. (prompt from OTP Prompt Generator)
-
"Hey, Kazuma," Kiryuu heard from the open room as he was putting on his shoes, almost ready to leave. "You won't believe what I found in your drawer."
Kiryuu frowned, "It's my drawer, so I probably will. What are you looking for in there anyway? Thought we've already gotten rid of all the 'contraband'."
Sayama walked out of the room with a grin on her face and her right hand balled into a fist, with something pink sticking out. "We skipped this one it seems," she said.
Kiryuu focused on the pink fragment and connecting the dots, he sighed. "So that's where I put it. It's so small, I keep forgetting."
Sayama looked suspiciously at her boyfriend and opened her hand, revealing a small, pink, toy car with red flames as decals. "Wait, it's yours? Not Haruka's? I mean, it's hideous, so I thought it couldn't be but..."
"Hey, it was a monster on the race track," Kiryuu looked genuinely offended.
"Umm, sorry. I bet it was," Sayama said, confused. "It doesn't look that old though," she continued, looking the toy over.
"Well, it's not new, I got it about a year ago," Kiryuu sighed and leaned against the wall, with one shoe still untied.
"What were you doing with this a year ago?" Sayama furrowed her brows further.
"...racing, what else? And if you think this one's hideous you should have seen brother Majima's."
"Oh, ok... Seriously?! And Majima too?!"
"It's a shame they closed up shop in Kamurocho. I guess it couldn't last long without Fighter..." Kiryuu was already lost in thought.
"I can't picture you racing with this just a year ago... I mean, it's better than gambling... What kind of races were those even?"
"Slot car races, you know, those very narrow tracks with all sorts of obstacles... I wonder if Takuma-kun would know if there are still tracks somewhere..."
Sayama put the car on Kiryuu's head and started putting on her own shoes. "Alright I know where we're going today."
Kiryuu took the car from his head and looked questioningly at his girlfriend. "Where?"
"I need to see if this bad boy is as fast as you say, right?" Sayama smirked, nodding at the car, now in Kiryuu's hand.
"But they're closed."
"You can ask this Takuma-kun."
"I guess, but why are you interested in this?"
"Because you look genuinely wistful about freaking toy car races and I need to see this."
Kiryuu smiled and finished tying his shoe. "Well, if you insist, I guess I wouldn't mind."
"Of course you wouldn't, you dork."

"So, where do you want to go, Haruka?" Kazuma asked the girl holding his hand as they were leaving the clinic. Sayama Kaoru was close behind them, holding her own arm and looking at the picturesque scene in front of her.
"I miss roulette, that was intense!" Haruka answered.
Kazuma sighed and shifted from leg to leg uncomfortably while Kaoru grimaced and moved to the man's side with her arms crossed, "I swear Kazuma, I need to stop forgetting you're a criminal. But really, bringing Haruka into this is below you."
"She's the one who keeps bringing it up," he refuted, not looking at the policewoman accompanying them. "I don't even like gambling that much..."
"Oh, I'm sorry miss Kaoru," Haruka leaned out from behind her guardian to look at Sayama apologetically, "but uncle Kaz always gets so intense and it's kind of exciting..."
"Don't tempt me to raid a joint on the day of your uncle's discharge, please?" the woman sighed and let her arms down. "Honestly, I don't want to think about it right now."
"Then how about karaoke?" the girl looked at both adults in succession, finishing at Sayama again. "That is sure to make you fall even more in love with uncle Kaz!"
"Oh, that's interesting," she said, glancing at the man next to her. "I guess I can show off a bit in that regard too."
Haruka was positively beaming at that, but Kazuma seemed somehow lost in thought. A part of Sayama wanted to press the matter but looking at the excited girl she was determined to also keep the mood up.
"So it's decided!" she clapped her hands loudly, getting even closer to the man next to her. He finally turned to her at that and she smiled at him.
"That sounds really nice actually," he said, somewhat wistful. "I didn't know you could sing."
"There's still a lot you don't know about me."

Cyberpunk 2077 drabble
prompts "nightfall" "silent fury" "breeze"
Corpo V teenager, first meeting with Jackie
The teenager took off the braindance gear with a groan and massaged his temples. Sliding slightly in his chair he unlocked his computer and looked at the cursed mail again.
"Party at the [...], Heywood"
The mail was cursed, the place was cursed, the time was cursed and people were going to die.
He could ignore the whole thing and let it all go to hell. But at the same time, he couldn't. He sighed again, leaning back in his chair.
It was already nightfall, he had to go soon, see the chaos unfold with his own eyes. He took a gun from his drawer and left the room, and then the apartament, heading towards where the supposed 'party' was said to take place.
-
The whole biz stank like a rotting corpse, but getting involved was a matter of pride, which is never to be taken lightly in the underbelly of Night City. Jackie wasn't a Valentino for long yet, but he knew that much. They got a tip that Maelstrom was doing an operation on their turf and someone needed to be taught a lesson. That much was sure.
He was there mostly as back-up, to call people if things got hairy and what-not, so he stayed behind with a few others. He was young, but he wasn't stupid, he knew that if Maelstrom got involved here, there had to be something bigger going on. Some kind of opportunity that they couldn't lose. So he was ready for anything.
Except for a skinny, red-haired, corpo teen actually sneaking up on him and dragging him into a back alley, before he could even think about overpowering him.
"I don't want to hurt you, please be quiet and listen," the boy said, letting him go, with a hint of desperation in his voice. After a moment of confusion and panic, Jackie quickly calmed down and just looked him up suspiciously, but nodded.
"Look, your guys getting here, both a curse and a blessing. I got—" he suddenly grabbed his head and squirmed in pain.
"Hey choom, you ok?"
"They fucking hacked me. I'll be fine. But I need to leave, now. I think shit is gonna go down soon, and they already know I nicked their shard. You guys want to know what they were doing here? It's all there. I'll give it to you if you help me get away. And..."
"And...?"
"I don't know. I just saw five people I was meeting every day drugged and chopped up. I kinda feel like puking and it's probably not the best time."
They didn't speak for a moment and Jackie could see silent fury in the boy's eyes and in that moment his smart dress and expensive cyberware felt like an afterthought. There was something real in those black, cybernetic eyes. And just like that he knew, that maybe he's gotten over his head, but he'd help the guy.
"You're definitely right it's not the best time, hermano," he put his hand on the red hair's shoulder, snapping him out of the trance. "Let's hurry then, before you destroy my clothes."
-
The two boys were riding for a long while on a stolen motorbike, the red haired holding onto the young ganger for dear life. As they finally stopped, the first thing that the student felt was that the wind was still strong, in fact, it must have been like that because of the nearby water. The bigger teenager jumped off the bike and stretched, muttering something in spanish that the other didn't bother focusing on for the translator to work. He also got off the vehicle and sat on the pier, focusing on the unusually fresh breeze for Night City.
"We're in Pacifica?" he asked, even though he knew the answer, realizing that his voice is much more sore than he'd hoped.
"Si," his new acquaintance said when sitting down next to him, and the Maelstrom's shard changed hands without mention. "Gracias amigo," he only said, pocketing it.
"I should be the one thanking you. You really saved my skin. And you still have no real reason to trust me."
"Maybe not, maybe I do," the ganger shrugged. "I'm Jackie by the way. What about you?"
The red haired boy was silent for a moment before replying. "...V," he finally said. "And that's my contact, in case... well, I'd be grateful if you didn't use it to extort me or something. But I want you to have it."
Jackie looked seriously as V's been sending him the data. "Hey, who do you take me for?"
"I don't know actually. You seem alright. I've never dealt much with the gangs though."
"Well, you seem alright for a corpo kid too."
"That's probably an insult, but thanks anyway."
"Not at all choom! What are you planning to do now, anyway?"
"...get home probably. There's not much I can do at the moment."
"I see. Well," Jackie also started sending him the data. "if you need anything or just wanna grab a bite, then I'm down. But I probably need to report back for now, so see you later, V."
"...see you later, Jackie."

Cyberpunk 2077 drabble
prompt "overgrown"
Trans V, corpo path
He lost the count of days already a while before when he finally looked in the mirror. He wasn't used to this sight, there wasn't much more hair on his face but his head seemed overgrown. There was definitely a shift in body weight, his hips were wider, even though he felt even skinnier than ever. He never allowed that to happen before, it was weird and he felt unnatural. He's seen a ripper concerning his various withdrawals soon after he'd been kicked out of Arasaka, but he hasn't decided to come back since. He was a little out of touch, still trying to keep up with Jackie, but too much in his head to figure out what he needed for himself.
But that day, with the scissors and his head in the sink, counting money in his system, he figured out how much he needed for hormones and to send home, no questions asked. Maybe he didn't have a stable job, but he could manage some regular expenses.
"Hey, Vik," he reached the clinic after a long walk from Heywood. "I know you told me to come by for a check-up earlier..."
"That I did. And you seem even more chewed out than before now," the ripperdoc looked up from the screen "And I even went to the trouble of getting you the hormones I thought you'd need."
"You... did what?"
"I can still sell them off if you don't need ‘em."
"No, I..." V looked at the parameters that Vik showed him on screen. "That seems exactly what I need. I was just about to ask. I just hope I have enough to pay you."
"Don't worry too much about it. Just sit down, and promise to actually get to the next check up, alright?"
V sat down and nodded. "Yeah, I promise."

Cyberpunk 2077 drabble
prompt "total control"
Game over to my made up ending
"Johnny..." the construct materialized in the corner of V's shaking vision, confused, as if he just woke up.
"V? What the fuck is happening here? We were supposed to meet in Mikoshi," he furrowed his brows at his host, currently lying under a desk in a small room in the Arasaka Tower.
"The pills wore off. I won't make it," V said, barely holding his eyes open. Johnny couldn't answer for a long while and only the blaring alarms and shouting kept them company.
"So you went with the Arasaka bitch," he finally said after a long sigh. "Wasn't that at least supposed to go smoothly?"
"I... Killed her."
There was a long pause.
"And her brother..." V's voice trailed off and Johnny took a deep breath before answering again.
"... Fuck V, I mean, I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I somehow am."
"What, you thought I'd just go along with them all the way?" V's hands balled into fists as he tried to keep focus on the image of his friend. "I wanted to use them, I never wanted... Saburo is in Mikoshi. And... Jackie... You need to get Alt the access, destroy this thing to bits, I got the chip from Alt before I got here..."
Johnny squatted right in front of his face. "What are you talking about V, what the hell can I do?"
"Once I'm... gone. Once you have total control. The body listens to you, you said so yourself. You should have no trouble getting to Mikoshi from here. I'm afraid I'm too weak for any confrontation at this point. And they are still on the lookout."
"V, come on, we were supposed to... Fuck." Johnny turned his gaze down to his feet.
"Sorry I killed Smasher already..."
"Don't fucking apologize V. Just don't..."
V raised his hand towards him. "Come on. I'm not holding this against you. It was my decision. Thanks for enabling me thus far."
Johnny looked up at him again, solemnly. "Fuck V... Right back at you."
V smiled weakly and Johnny answered in kind, grabbing his hand.

Cyberpunk 2077 drabble
prompt "one chance"
Secret ending
"You know Johnny, we only have one chance at this," V said, suddenly stopping right before the Arasaka tower.
"Yup. What, getting cold feet now? A little bit too late for that."
"Of course I'm getting cold feet, this is insane!"
"Never said it wasn't."
V hid his face in his palms for a moment, sighing deeply.
"Need to at least make sure I'm ready. Why the fuck did you not remind me of that before we left Vik's?"
Johnny only shrugged. "Not like you have the time for any operations."
"Umm, excuse me, are you alright?" a woman stopped in her tracks, looking concerned.
"Uh, yeah, sure," V slid his fingers through his hair, which was now slightly disheveled. "You... Annie?"
"V? Oh, I didn't recognize you! You..."
"Um, sorry, I don't have time. Actually. You're leaving the building? Good," he pushed her slightly away and ran to the Arasaka Tower, waving.
"Still need to prepare something?" he heard Johnny's amused voice.
"Shut up. Let's just fucking do it."

Cyberpunk 2077 drabble
prompt "sunbathing"
"Oh shit," V exclaimed suddenly in the middle of a street, and people started turning heads as he dragged himself to the nearby pier. It was right after noon and the sun was high, heat and bright light making the reaction to the Relic feel even worse than usual, many uncomfortable sensations mixing in one. The man sat down on the pier, almost threw off his upper garments and then lied down on his back, breathing heavily and closing his eyes.
When he finally opened them again, his head no longer pounding, he realized that the construct in his head materialized right next to him, in the same position, in his signature glasses but also shirtless.
"Johnny? What the fuck are you doing?" V asked, squinting his eyes at his friend.
"Sunbathing. Good idea, better than actually doing any gigs in this heat," he answered matter-of-factly.
V snorted at first, but didn't stand up. It wasn't a bad idea after all.

Notes of an Irken Archeologist pt. 10
There's way too much going on lately and not enough focus for me to process what it all means. I haven't done any progress in research and it's already my fourth attempt at a note. I'm always too tired to make anything out of all this. I've decided to just mostly trust Zim when it comes to our safety, he's been here for a while after all, but it's also sometimes really weird to wrap my head around the why and the how.
For example Zim can get really panicky about everything but there was also a time when he has decided to drag me along the neighbourhood. I was surprised to find out that he doesn't mind talking about confidential stuff when we're in the open. He talked and talked, about how much progress he's made, how well he's infiltrated the human education system, how much he knows and how dumb humans are and just begging to be conquered.
I think those were already the first moments I started to realize something was off. I was getting mixed signals. Zim's enthusiasm was nice but also... unsettling. I remembered how Yr would act sometimes in front of other Irkens when she was stalling. He was gone from the Empire for a long time. And I am... urgh.
After that I have actually still been staying at Zim's base for most of the time, as he would go to the human 'Skool', work on something frantically in his burrow or talk with me about Earth and human society. The last few days were a mix of following Gir around, following Zim around, trying to focus on where to go further with my research and trying to get more comfortable in general.
I've also found out about Skoodge. Another Irken. You may have heard of him, the conquerer of Blorch? The actual one, the one launched into space. He was really happy I paid attention that the taller Irken that the Tallest have chosen later wasn't him. I was a bit worried at first, but really, everyone here on Earth is so estranged from the Empire in different ways...
And there are also the humans. Specifically the ones that know about us. The Membrane siblings, Dib and Gaz. I met Gaz when she came by to shake down Zim for some game he apparently promised her in exchange for something. Weirdly enough we all ended up using a really old Irken VR first contact simulation... It was the first time it was actually fun for me. Gaz and Skoodge were the only ones that actually passed of course though. I wonder about Skoodge a lot actually. He doesn't seem defective. But... Never mind.
Meeting Dib was a little bit more complicated. And I'm not sure... Well. It was soon after I first arrived actually. When I came back to my cloaked ship for something. He has the means to recognize Irken tech signature. I had already heard about him from Zim at the point, but I was still quite perplexed about whether he's a threat or what is he really. I mean, it's all quite concerning with the humans knowing about us, but Gaz at least just doesn't seem to care at all what we are, and Dib, well... Dib cares too much. I told him why I'm here. About the research. He's suspicious, but I can't really blame him, Zim is still technically here to conquer his planet. I'm really worried about what's going on between those two. There's generally a lot of things I worry about here. And Dib can be a bit scary too. I kind of... short circuited in front of him, but fortunately Yr's failsafe is working and it fixed itself before it could become a problem. Everything's still mostly alright I think. I just wish I had the mental strength to get back to figuring out what to do next about my research. I'm getting mentally exhausted really quickly.
I don't know if anything I write here makes sense any more.
But at any rate, that was a long one. Probably confusing. And I don't know how to finish it. Welp. I'm just going to sign off then before Gir finds me. I don't think I ever ate as much as this week. And I'm barely holding off the toxic stuff. Still, I think there was some Earth animal in the cake and I don't really want to find out if I'm right.

Notes of an Irken Archeologist pt. 11
Another shocking discovery, on the wild ride that is getting to know Earth and its apparently future conquerer.
Vortians.
There are three, young vortians in the burrow.
Aaaaaaa?????
Yaay, my notes are getting even more incohesive.
I wasn't really supposed to go into the burrow, but I was alone at the base at the time and one of them just... Came out. And then he was like "We hijacked your base, you can't stop uuuus," and I was stumped, just sitting by the table, with my jaw on the floor and then he suddenly completely changed his tone, saying that he doesn't recognize me and asking how I know 'uncle Zim', and I'd just laugh hysterically through answering his questions. He then brought me down to the burrow to show me how amazing are his hacking skills. And there were two more of them. And I had no idea what to do. I managed to excuse myself and called Zim, but he wouldn't answer. Then Computer actually spoke to me, that the Vortians are officially hostages, but they mostly do what they want.
I ended up having to help Computer to get some of its controls back, but the 'hostages' were quite happy just getting noticed.
Everything is so wrong around here.
And I'm still at a loss as to how to continue my research. I'm being pulled in so many directions, Zim actually started to ask for my assistance in things that never end well, I keep being worried about Dib, now also the vortian children, I can't focus...
I need to find an excuse to be out of this house more often.
"Get a job," Zim's computer tells me.
Wait—
After a short awkward conversation it turns out that the House knows literally everything that happens inside it, which I should have figured so I'm gonna finish the note for now and... get a job I guess? Anything to get me out of this slump. Gir is screaming something about waffles again. When did he come home, oh Irk.
Later.

"Kaoru..." a voice resounded in the darkness, among the neverending beeping and smell of blood and sweat. Sayama Kaoru felt a light jolt of wakefulness as both the noise and smell subsided and she shrugged her shoulders slightly, feeling an uncomfortable sensation in her back and neck and her sore arms. As she shifted slightly, she also became aware of the hard chair she was sitting on and groaned quietly.
"I'm not going anywhere," a deep, soft voice, warm breath on her cheek and tightening hold around her palm reminded her of the reason for the uncomfortable position. She opened her eyes. He was there, alive and conscious, and that knowledge sent another wave of relief over her. First when the bomb hadn't blown. Second when he hadn't died from his wounds on the way to the clinic. And then he was awake and she suddenly wanted to squeeze him. But she stopped herself, remembering his wounds.
"You better," she answered sharply, she had had enough of important people showing up in her life just to be gone seconds later. In just a few days she gained and lost a father and a brother. She also gained Kazuma and she wouldn't lose him so easily.
He opened his eyes and they stared into each other for a good while and she saw tension clearly growing on his face. That and his hand was squeezing even tighter. She understood the sentiment. "You're going to be okay. I'm not going anywhere either," she reassured him just as he reassured her and he smiled, calming down somewhat.
"I know. Thank you," he said and she couldn't help but smile back. He closed his eyes again.
Sayama kept looking at his face releasing the tension for a while still, until her back reminded her why she had really woken up in the first place.
She held her breath for a moment and turned her head upwards, changing the position of her spine slightly and released a long, silent breath shortly after. However, this didn't help much and soon, when the hold on her hand was weaker, she gently moved her palm from between Kazuma's and stood up from his bedside and stretched. She looked at him for a moment still, but he only slightly shifted, not opening his eyes. Sayama was glad he could keep resting and hoped that in spite of everything he could have pleasant dreams.

Prompt: Kazuma trying to get something on their computer to work. While they’re getting frustrated and flipping out, Kaoru is sitting nearby cracking up. (prompt from OTP Prompt Generator)
-
Kiryuu Kazuma, the Dragon of Dojima, legend of the Japan’s underworld was sitting in front of the laptop with his usual unfazed expression slowly cracking. Sayama was sitting on the other side of the table slurping her coffee and studying the man curiously. He was focused entirely on the screen, gently biting on his lower lip, and she could hear loud mouse clicks from time to time, which were getting more frequent as the time passed. After a while his gaze turned to the keyboard and he stared at it for a while before starting to slowly hit the keys one by one. Sayama’s lips twitched in an amused smile.
“What the hell are you doing?” she finally asked, putting the mug down.
Kazuma did not look up from the keyboard however, and only after a few more inputs he let his left hand rest, his right was back on the mouse and his attention focused on the screen again. After an even louder click he put his hands together and just kept staring.
“Hello? Earth to Kazuma? What are you doing?” Sayama repeated, putting her arms on the table and moving closer to the laptop
“Haruka asked me to check out some stuff that the older kids at Sunflower have been making,” he finally answered, his eyes still glued to the screen. The woman leaned back in her chair, still looking curiously at her boyfriend, while the air around him was getting tenser by the second. Until his palms seperated and balled into fists as he sighed loudly and hung his head down. Sayama could almost see the heat radiating from his frustration and she couldn’t help but chuckle, which made the man twitch, but he didn’t look up or said anything.
“I understand that you’re not the technological type, so it wouldn’t hurt you to ask for help you know? Especially since it’s my laptop,” Sayama said sharply, but with clear amusement in her voice. The man in front of her sighed again.
“...it just keeps spinning.”
“Spinning?”
