i get hate directed personally at me when syscoursers disagree with my take. it doesnt bother me.
but there are people who are affected by it. you saying that, couldnt prevent someone from seeking help, could prevent someone from feeling understood in the only community they may have.
ill say it once and ill say it again, you dont have to prove yourself to anyone. only you know yourself, and dont let others discourage you from believing in getting help for yourself.

I stumbled across this on Reddit and thought it would be helpful for some people. It’s a website made by a system for systems. It includes:
A section to add altars and informations about them.
A feature to nest another system under the main one, so a feature to have subsystems.
A wish list where altars can add anything they’d like, it’s also possible to mark a wish as “granted”.
A section where you can describe your inner world.
System rules, a section where you can rules your system collectively agrees on.
Worksheets - Expanding but currently includes A Safety Plan, Before During After Plan, an exercise to invite altars to front and message in a bottle, (a place to let out your feelings).
A communal journal where altars can make posts.
Each altar can have there own journal that they can password lock if they want to
This is not a social website, there’s no feature to chat with other systems. It’s a safe place for people with PTSD and DID to explore there thoughts and feelings, identify there parts and develop healthy and positive communication internally.

just a reminder.
- systems who are fine without having a medical diagnosis are valid.
- systems who want a medical diagnosis are valid.
- systems who do not want to try getting an offical diagnosis yet, but may want one in the future, are valid.
— it is a personal thing and not getting a medical diagnosis does not equate to not getting help. diagnoses, depending on your country and especially for did, can be a very long and stressful journey to get. everybody has their own reasons for the timing of things, so remember, how you deal with your disorder is your choice.

Things that can happen in DID/OSDD but people don’t talk about them as much:
An alter being co-conscious or influencing you without you knowing.
Being aware of a co-con alter but not knowing who they are.
Having difficulty telling apart your inner experiences. (Was that an alter or was I just feeling differently or was I just daydreaming?)
Having difficulty identifying your own emotions. (I feel “something”)
Knowing how to do something yet feeling like you don’t or shouldn’t know how to do it. (How do I know how to use this phone? I feel like it’s 1998 when I didn’t know what a phone was yet.)
Being in a familiar place/situation yet feeling confused, like it’s unfamiliar. (I’ve lived in this house for 7 years but I feel like this is my first time ever being in it.)
Being confused that your body is smaller/taller than you thought.
Feeling or being unable to do things that you normally can do at other times. (I just couldn’t drive the other day. I don’t know how. I just forgot how to do it.)
Things that happened a few days ago feel like months ago, or things that happened months ago feel like a few days ago.
Experiencing pain, headaches, visual impairment, or other physical symptoms that doctors can’t find a cause for.
Waking up as a different alter than the one who went to bed.
A co-conscious alter being able to influence or take control of certain body parts (like using the arms to hold & comfort you).
Being unable to tell if you’re dreaming or awake.
Feel free to add on!

"Why are there so many people online claiming to have DID!"
Not that anyone asking that question actually cares about the answer but here's a list of the reasons why you may see it so often!
You are actively seeking them online. This includes !! Talking about them, commenting on posts, engaging with anti DID communities, and most obviously searching the tags up.
DID while rare is as prevalent as: OCD, green eyes, having ginger hair, BPD.... And not all systems online have DID, there's also OSDD. DID is an underreported disorder too, because of the lack of research + lack of diagnosis in many parts of the world and many many different communities in society even in places where psychiatric care is available.
People are becoming more open as they see other people being more open and discussing the disorder with less stigma.
The internet is more readily available than it used to be, so you're encountering groups of people you wouldn't have before.
This whole argument is ridiculous and stupid and tiring, y'all do it to every community that starts to be more outspoken, you've done it to gay people, you've done it to trans people, you're doing it to systems.
If you don't want to see system content there's an easy solution!!!
Stop interacting with system content
Block the tags and accounts you see!
Isn't that simple.

Hey btw shout out to systems in which loneliness is a huge part of their trauma. Shout out to systems who split alot of alters because they were fucking lonely and isolated as a child and didnt have any other way to cope. Shout out to systems whose loneliness affect(ed) their entire lives, whether that loneliness be caused by parental neglect, or neurodivergency, or whatever. And while im at it shout out to systems who are proud of their brain and headmates for being strong enough to figure a fucking way out of it.
(Endos fuck off)

"having DID is having built-in friends" "having DID is getting to meet fictional characters" "having DID is having like a billion different aesthetics" no!!! it's not!!! shut up!!!
I know y'all are coping by being silly and goofy about your system and that is so okay, I do it too, most of us do. but there is an enormous fucking difference between being silly and acting like DID is not a serious trauma disorder. because DID is a trauma disorder and it is incurable and it can be fucking debilitating. you don't have to post about the bad parts, but you cannot act like your silly posts are what defines DID

one thing that I don't see a lot of people talking about in regards to fictive heavy systems is that if you are stuck in the same unsafe situation that caused your trauma, you are going to be predisposed to split more.
if you are a minor with access to the internet, you are more likely to use the internet as a coping mechanism to distance yourself from the situation you are stuck in. And if you are still actively being traumatized and use media as a form of escapism YOU WILL HAVE A LOT OF FICTIVES.
fakeclaimers that see fictive heavy systems and immediately assume that they are faking are just being belligerent at this point. And the argument falls apart even more when you consider the fact that a fair amount of systems are also adhd or autistic and will be even more likely to turn to hyperfictations or spins during times of stress, causing them to (potentially) split off of that thing even more then a nt system.
anyway tldr: fakeclaimers are silly and don't do adequate research and fictives I love you mwahh

The attitude of "you're too positive online so you must be faking" is ridiculous. "Why do you never talk about the bad side of your disorder –" why do you think people on the internet want to hear about me having a breakdown because I couldn't remember important bank details. Like seriously, unless I manage to turn that into some kind of "you're not alone if you struggle with amnesia" post, why the hell would my followers or the internet at large be interested in hearing about that. I don't talk often about the bad side of this disorder because it serves no purpose to me and just results in more negativity on the internet. I don't want that. Why do you want that?

these events in my childhood couldnt possibly be traumatic enough for me to develop DID, am i faking?
before you accuse yourself of faking, think of it like this. nowadays, you may think back on something that happened in your childhood and think “well, it wasnt even that bad. how could i have formed a disorder from that?” yet people forget this. it may not seem bad to you now, but how bad would it seem to a child? something that seems small to you now couldve affected a young child more than it would to you now.
it mattered to you then and thats what matters. there is no criteria or checklist for what makes something traumatic and what doesnt. if it affected you severely, it was traumatic to you, even when other people deem it as a small thing.
everyone reacts to things differently, just because something was traumatic to you, doesnt mean it would be for someone else. just because current you wouldn’t be affected by something, doesnt mean child you would feel the same.
