⁉️ QOTD: What was your last 4 or 5 star read?
🏒🏒🏒
Thank you, VPR and Kandi Steiner, for the earc in exchange for an honest review.
✨️✨️ Review ✨️✨️
Learn Your Lesson by Kandi Steiner is the third book in the Kings of Ice series. Although I haven't read the first two books, I didn't feel lost while reading this one because it's an interconnected series and can be read as a standalone. The book was incredibly engaging. After reading this book, I can say that I'm planning to read the first two soon. The writing is vivid, the characters well-developed, and the relationships portrayed in different aspects are electrifying.
Will lost his first wife, Jenny, and since then, he hasn't been the same. He's become hollow and fears losing anyone who gets close to him.
On the other hand, Chloe was raised by her grandmother and mother, and both of them hate men because they were left by their partners. Chloe has always been told that men cannot be trusted and that she shouldn't give herself over to a man because, in the end, he will leave her.
Chloe becomes Ava's nanny, who happens to be Will's daughter and one of her students. She loves Ava and isn't looking to get to Will, the handsome NHL Hockey player, like his past nannies. But, there are sparks between them that they try to deny but ultimately give in with some stipulations. They are not supposed to want more from each other, and Will will teach Chloe some lessons in the bedroom. However, rules are meant to be broken, right?
In romance novels, I always enjoy more depth to my characters, and I love it when they have some baggage because it makes them seem real. I adored how Chloe came into Will and Ava's lives and made such an impact by setting goals to make them smile and laugh. But not only does Chloe make an impact on their life, but they make an impact on her. Chloe ends up making friendships with Will's chef and the group of girls who date some of the NHL players. Plus, she learns many lessons like how not all men are horrible and what a found family feels like.
It was a super sweet book with a lot of spiciness. Will and Chloe complement each other and are rocks for each other.

✨️ AOTD: I have read 14 (12 audiobooks + 2 physical) books this month, but I am close to finishing Her Soul to Take (physical), so it will be hopefully 15.
👑👑👑
I recently read Blood Veir by @christyrharrill on audio. Once again, thank you, @bookofmatchesmedia
Overall, Blood Veir is a fast-paced book that keeps you engaged and curious about what will happen next. However, towards the end, the pacing slows down a bit.
The characters in the book are well-developed, and the world-building is enjoyable. Blood Veir also contains tropes I previously enjoyed, such as political intrigue, secrets, and deadly competition. It reminded me of fantasy novels I enjoyed in high school. You'll find plenty of treachery, betrayal, and secrets in this book, and you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat. I was surprised by some of the twists and turns.
The narrators, Grace Noble and A. W. Miller did an excellent job bringing the story to life. I listened to my audiobooks at 3x speed but had no problems understanding them. I have no complaints about their performance.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Pick up Blood Veir if you're a fan of young adult fantasy books, particularly The Remnant Chronicles and The Prison Healer. Additionally, pick this up if you love books with political intrigue, deadly competitions, royalty and kingdoms, and a murder mystery.

Happy release day to Holly Renee's new book, The Veiled Kingdom!
First, I want to thank Valentine PR for allowing me to read and review The Veiled Kingdom.
⚔️⚔️⚔️
✨✨ Rating: 5/5 Stars ✨✨
This was my first Holly Renee book, but I'm already a fan and have another one of her works on my Kindle.
The chemistry between Nyra and Dacre is captivating, and I got hooked on their story from the start. Their relationship starts as an enemies-to-lovers trope, and their denial of their chemistry adds to the tension. The witty banter between them is also spot-on.
This romantasy novel is a perfect blend of spice and magic. While it leans heavily towards the romance side, I appreciated its magical elements, such as the intriguing magical tithe, the developing magic system, and the rebellion.
I was also pleased that the smut element never overshadowed the plot. The balance between the two was delightful.
The ending left me craving for the sequel that's coming out this summer. I can't wait to read it!
If you're a fan of romantasy, then The Veiled Kingdom is a must-read. You can get the Barnes & Noble exclusive edition or read it on Kindle Unlimited. Don't miss out on this fantastic book!

After finishing “What Feasts at Night” by T. Kingfisher, I feel compelled to read more of her books. I think I’ll start with “Thornhedge” solely because the main character is named Toadling 🐸
