Feeling like not belonging in a room is probably one of the worst things a person can experience. I remember several times when I was in a room full of so many people but I still felt like an outsider there, I felt like I didn't deserve to be there and honestly that is one of the worst things ever! It is probably one the best ways to demotivate yourself. Self sabotage is so bad for our mental health but we still do it. We keep making ourselves feel bad for something that probably doesn't even exist.
What we can do to help ourselves out of this mind trap:-
First and foremost, Stop. Comparing. Yourselves. To. Others!! This point cannot be stressed on enough. Comparing ourselves to others is the worst thing we can do to ourselves. We never know for how long that person has being doing something we just started to do and thus we cannot compare a one-week progress report to a one-month progress report. Everyone has different tendencies and different capacity of performing the same activity. Comparing ourselves to others is not the right thing to do.
Focus on ourselves: We just need to take care of our habits not others'. By focusing on ourselves we get to know what fits best for us and what doesn't.
Surround yourself with people who make you happy: The point in itself is pretty self explanatory. If the people who you choose to spend your time with are positive people then their energy rubs off on you as well. Energy is contagious.
Journaling: I have been practicing journaling for quite a while now and it has honestly helped a lot. It doesn't matter if you follow prompts or just write whatever comes to mind. The point is to take the burden of everything off your shoulders.
Talk it out: This is kind of co-related to the previous point; if not journaling we can try to talk about our feelings with someone who would listen and understand. Try to get everything off your chest and share whatever is on your mind with someone who has gone through something similar.
