Countless Day

It was a sunny autumn day on Sesame Street, the children that lived on the street were heading to school and the adults were heading to work. The Muppets were going to do their own things too, some were sitting on the stairs, talking with each other. There was one muppet however who was not having the best day, it was no other than the Count, he was sitting on the couch, looking at a thermometer that he held in his fingers, he had a fever and was not feeling all that well, he groaned as he held his head, this was the first cold that he had caught ever since he was a child, he set the thermometer down on a table and tried to rest on the couch.

As the day went on, the humans that lived on the street had noticed that Count was no where to be seen, they became concerned, "I wonder where Count is, it's unlike him to not be counting something somewhere." Maria said resting her palm on her cheek. "Maybe he's at home, I'll go see." Ernie said, who was sitting next to Maria. He stood up and headed to the Count's house. Finding the Count's house, Ernie knocked on the door and waited while tapping his foot on the ground. The door then opened to reveal the sick vampire, he was a light purple and his cheeks were flushed, this caused Ernie to ask the Count what was wrong?, the Count responded with a dry cough and explaining that he had a cold, and was too sick to count today. Ernie frowned and then remembered that Maria was a nurse, she would know how to help Count feel better, he told Count that he knew who could help him and said that he would be right back The Count nodded and went back inside.

After telling Maria Count's condition, Maria agreed to taking care of the vampire, she followed Ernie to the Count's house. The Count was sitting up on the couch, drinking some tea, he then heard knocking on the door and set the cup on the coffee table, he then got up to answer the door, opening the door, The Count looked up to see Maria. "Oh, greetings Maria." He said in a quiet tone, his throat was clearly very sore. Maria frowned and crouched down to the vampire's eye level, "Ernie told me you weren't feeling well, so I came right over to help you feel better." Maria said, the Count smiled at Maria's kindness but then flinched at when the woman put her hand on his forehead. "You have quite the fever..let's get you to bed." Maria said, she led the vampire inside and shut the door behind her, "Thank you Maria." The Count said with a smile. Maria nodded and led the Count upstairs.
