The housemate is now home again.

There's still a lot of stuff that has to be set up, but, it's also on him. There are, currently, three days each week that he's going to be spending in dialysis. He has no return-to-work date set right now.

Any and all help, financially, is greatly appreciated. Currently about $100 short for April rent, and $1300 short on May rent.

Trying to manage all this, while being on the spectrum, and being unable to even entertain asking family for help, is overwhelming and then some.

Help?

The update on things is that the housemate is financially flat-lined. If 'thoughts and prayers' were actual currency then I'd be covered for a decade's worth of rent by this point.

For those who don't know: the housemate has become mobility disabled due to a life-altering injury, and then there's the other medical conditions that took the opportunity to go "hiiii, we're heeeere!" They're in a care facility at this point--they've been there since the beginning of December 2023.

I cannot cover the rent on my own, in its entirety, because I do not pull in enough income to do so. I've depleted my tiny buffer and have no other resources. Family is unable to help any more than they already do. Being Autistic, and trying to handle all my Things while dealing with this on my own is making it very difficult to maintain what little 'cool-headedness' I've had in my day to day. I am drowning under the pressure and therapy and meds can only get me so far.

Please, please help.

could you give a tutorial for the barbed wire stitching please? ^_^

Sure! I've never done a tutorial before, so I'm sorry if this is a little confusing 💀

The whole design is made of simple straight stitches, so it's pretty easy :)

1. Make a diagonal stitch, then make another one in the opposite direction to create an 'X', that is wider toward the end.

2. Make two more diagonal stitches to create another X attached to the end of the first one.

3. Make two more diagonal stitches that face outward, creating the 'barbs'

3. Create straight horizontal stitches between the barbs, I'd say about 3-5, depending on how far apart you make the stitches.

4. Create two diagonal stitches facing outward again, facing the opposite direction of the first two barbs, closing off the first shape.

5. Create another X between the barbs, and repeat the process again until you reach the end of whatever you're embroidering :)

I would suggest making the X's a bit longer and narrower than I did here, because I think it looks a bit better that way, but honestly it doesn't matter all that much :)
