Though we're tethered to the story we must tell// When I saw you, well I knew we'd tell it well // I'd give anything to hear you say it one more time // That the universe was made just to be seen by our eyes
as bitter as it is, I think this shows us that sometimes, ending escapism from stories that dragged on too long, made the characters bleak and tired, is needed . And so, giving us ways to carry on the legacy that we've formed throughout these years is what we should do next - Sneakie Minecraft
how did you animate the guitar parts? i love absolutely everything about this animation and have been watching it on repeat :D
It's just rigging and keyframing the action ^_^ glad it looks nice! Could be a bit more polished but I was on time constrain haha Thank you for enjoying!
Me again & thanks! It's very cool to hear you took the song's presence into account and let it influence your style so drastically, not everyone thinks to let alone follows through on it. Ultimately its a very cool animation & easily very unique. I hope you continue to experiment & have fun. I loved the ending from the moment Wilbur appears through to the zoom out of DreamXD. Honestly I love how Wilbur haunts the entire animation despite Dream's presence and role. Thanks for the cool art!
Thank you for enjoying it! I am drafting another animation already that I had in plans for long time and I hope people will like it! ^_^
Hello, I'd asked about the use of objects. Thanks for answering, it's cool to know it was so deliberate. I'd picked up on how symbolic they were & the fact it was intentional adds to the experience for me personally. If you'd like to answer another: Your still art is very textured / patterned, do you find it challenging to work with the heavily flat graphic style like this animation has? What stands out in your thinking as most different when approaching the composition & completion of each?
No problem! It was quite hard to work in such flat graphic style but really fun too. I don't need to think of values as much when I worked like this but I knew that this song needs a style that has quick cuts, easy shapes to recognize and fast paced action. If it was any other song then it would be way more textured. (also fun fact; before I decided on Hayloft II the song I picked was Enemy by Imagine Dragons and the MV was completely different)
Hi a question for you about the Hayloft II animation, you feature a lot of objects in your animation and shots soley dedicated to them. Was that a conscious and deliberate first choice or a balance between rendering people/characters and time efficiency? It came out great I was curious with the thought process behind creating it was all, thanks!
Things like pickaxes, discs, casino chips - everything is a symbol of specific characters or relations between the characters so I wanted to emphasize that. I also didn't want to have the video be full of character/face shots because I think closeups and background shots are also important when crafting something like this :D hope this helped!
