(posting this as a reflection of sorts cuz i feel a certain way)

so last night i got an email from the organisation i applied for a scholarship for and i had been rejected. just the same morning our teacher announced the results of class leader elections and i didn’t get the position. so obviously i was quite sad abt it so i was texting my friend abt it and she shared with me some things that i want to come back to and remind myself of when i need to.

i was generally feeling like my class didn’t like me much and found me and my personality annoying and she reminded me that i can’t always please everyone and i shld just be myself and reminded me that being sad over losing elections means that it means more to me than just genuinely wanting to serve the class (i.e. there are selfish reasons to it) and she’s not wrong and that makes me feel like it’s okay to let go of it as i’m reminded of the actl reason why i applied in the first place.

she shared with me this motto of hers that she’s been following the past couple weeks. she told me to stop things so seriously and just do what i want to do in life and if i get recognised for it that’s just a bonus and not what i should be worried about. if i don’t get recognised i shldnt have anything to be sorry about as i still tried and did what i wanted to do.

and then we were talking about how people get annoyed by the littlest of things and sometimes people who get hated on didn’t even do anything wrong and how it’s better to just look past things cuz it’s not worth losing people over.

then she was telling me about this guy in her class that she really looks up to for being genuine and rly mature. he serves for the sake of serving and doesn’t care about titles, he’s always super chill about life and he’s nice to everyone whether or not they’re nice to him. i don’t know him well or at all but i aspire to be like him too.

idk i’m just posting this so that when i reread my blog like i often do i get reminded of it
