Euphoria Finale…
I’ve got to take this storyline by storyline. Firstly, Lexi has an amazing memory because the detail she put in those costumes and how she remembered Rue’s speech at her dad’s funeral is unmatched. The way Cassie went on that stage to start drama and embarrass Lexi, only to have it immediately backfire. And Suze coming on stage like, no this is apart of the play. Hilarious.
And then Maddy being like, “I chose to be the bigger person last time, but now it’s time for violence.” Cassie was left with a bloody nose. And Maddy letting her know that it’s only just beginning with Nate. The implication that Nate is going to make Cassie’s life a living hell, but hey, this is what you asked for.
And speaking of Nate. When I saw him driving with that gun, I thought he was going to walk into the play and pull some white boy mess. I’m glad he set Cal up though, because that man deserved it. And I’m glad that Cal did not SA Nate when he was a child. It was just the trauma of seeing those tapes manifesting in those dreams. However, I am upset that Nate still gets to walk away with no repercussions for everything he’s done. The things he put those girls through.
I loved that moment with Lexi and Rue. I hope their friendship comes back. I’m glad that Rue is seeing herself through someone else’s eyes, because now she sees that, no she is not a horrible person. She’s just traumatized and dealt with that trauma in a destructive way. I’m actually really happy Rue went to see Elliot to thank him and that she recognizes that if he hadn’t done that she would be dead. And I love Dominic Fike’s voice. And the fact that Zendaya helped write that song. Talent on talent on talent. That little moment between Rue and Jules. I’m glad Rue walked away, because that means she recognizes she can’t depend on Jules for herself to stay sober. She needs to do that for herself.
And now what broke my heart. First off Ashtray is the scariest 12 year old I have ever seen. And I knew Faye wasn’t going to turn on them. She is apart of that family now. The way she told Fez not to say anything, and then try to pin everything on Laurie because she knew the cops were listening. Girl is smart. Ashtray was too impulsive. I whole heartedly believe that if he would have stayed sitting, Fez would have found a way out of that situation. The way Fez was immediately ready to take the blame to protect his brother and go down for everything. When S.W.A.T burst in and that shootout happened. Fez screaming for Ashtray to come out and screaming at the cops not to shoot he’s just a kid. I was in tears. And Fez having to see his brother go down. More tears. For Angus Cloud to never have acted before this show, he needs an award for his performance tonight.
And completely on a related side note, who is going to take care of the grandma now

I just watched All American: Homecoming. I liked it, you know it was cute. But I’m calling it now, that tennis captain. I can’t remember her name, but she not straight. That’s just the vibes I’m getting. It’s something about her bitchiness that’s just saying it. And she’s going to fall into one of three categories;
Closeted girl trying to keep it a secret because of family stuff
Not closeted, but very much keeps her personal life personal
Or, she gets bitches but never has anything serious because tennis is her number 1 priority
It’s just something about fine ass tennis playing woman who is a bitch, but might have a heart deep down inside.

Nate Jacobs is still a garbage piece of shit… but that shot with him and his dad confirmed what last week and last season’s episode 7 put in my head. Cal is dirty and needs to rot. No matter how much I hate Nate, I can still recognize that what his father put him through was vile and evil, and no he did not deserve that. No one does

Lexi Howard stans rise
I loved seeing her perspective of events. And I finally felt like her and Rue were best friends growing up. Still not convinced she didn’t, and doesn’t still, have a slight crush on Rue. You go in thinking that Lexi is just going to expose all the girls, but you watch it and see that she shows the deeper, more sympathetic side of them. Like my best take was Maddy. Lexi felt like she couldn’t trust her at first. And that’s how I felt when we first met her in season 1. But as we got to know Maddy, just like Lexi, we got to see how sweet and kind she is.
And the not so subtle exposing of Nate. Ugh, I loved it. But Cassie actually looked crazy at the end, and where she started to where she is now. Damn. Talk about a downfall. And I just know she don’t have the nerve to ruin this play next week.
But Lexi is kind of scary when she’s in charge and I’m not mad at it. And she was so cute with Fez.
Fezco better be okay. Ashtray peeped game and I need him to get the hammer

My takeaways from Euphoria 2x06…
I am so happy Rue did not burn that bridge with Ali. I think she’ll try to get clean, but unfortunately I don’t think she wants to do it for herself and until she does, it’s going to be a long road. And I am so glad Ali cared, and recognized enough, to see about Gia. After hearing Leslie on the phone at the end, I am scared Rue will try to physically hurt herself since she is off drugs at the moment.
Cassie is crazy. And delusional. And narcissistic. How the fuck she trying to deflect onto Rue, knowing that besides being an addict she also has extensive mental problems. Then trying to compare trauma and saying she had it worse.
Those Lexi and Fez scenes though. 🥰
I knew there had to be a reason for keeping Faye around. Never trusted her and knew from the jump her boyfriend is a bitch.
A little skeptical about Maddy and Minka Kelly’s characters together. But bless Maddy’s soul. This girl does not deserve what Nate is putting her through.
And speaking of Nate. Neither of his parents like him. And I can’t disagree with that. He’s fucking crazy with a temper problem. The only good thing he did was give Jules the tape. And I don’t even trust that. Because I felt like Jules was about to forgive. If that happens, I’ve got to handle Nate myself. And then he practically moved Cassie in. What the fuck.
Overall, the writing and pacing was much better than the first four episodes. But I’m mad Maddy didn’t beat Cassie’s ass. And I’m furious that that one scene was all we got with Kat.

GIVE ZENDAYA HER FUCKING EMMY NOW…
Because in Euphoria season 2 episode 5, “Stand Still Like the Hummingbird”, she acted her ass off. I had so much anxiety throughout that entire episode that I was sweating and crying the whole way through. The range of emotions Rue went through in just that first 15 minutes alone. The dynamic between Rue, Gia, and their mom. The verbal attack on Jules. Her jumping out the car. The confrontation at Lexi’s house. How the moment Cassie opened her mouth, Rue saw her opportunity to manipulate the situation in order to get out. Cassie stuck on stupid and Maddy about to beat her ass.
Rue trying to take Fez’s grandma’s pills, to him throwing her out. Her breaking into a stranger’s house and stealing from them. The police chase. The way Zendaya made me believe she was actually going through withdrawals. Rue ending up at Laurie’s house. My fear that she was going to pimp Rue out in order to pay the rest of the money she owed. Laurie giving Rue the morphine fix and her actually getting out the next morning.
I literally cannot emotionally deal with processing this episode at the moment.

Euphoria character comparisons…
Cassie and Jules. They are the same person just in different fonts. They both have an absentee parent. Said parent abuses some type of substance. And they both seek approval and validation from men. Let’s start with Jules.
Jules wants to conquer femininity. To do that she thinks being with a lot of men will make her feel more like what she wants to see herself as as a woman. She falls in “love” easily. She’s very sexual. She’s cheating on her girlfriend with a guy she was kinda jealous of when Rue would hang of with him by herself.
Cassie wants the love from men that her father took when he left. To do that, she gets in relationship after relationship looking for that love and stability. She falls in “love” easily. She’s very sexual. She’s sleeping with her best friend’s ex of five minutes knowing all along how he treated Maddy.
Plus probably some type of abuse, because Jules was meeting strangers. We only know what Cal did since it was recorded. And it is shown that the men in Cassie’s family in the past have been, at the VERY least, highly inappropriate towards her. Not to mention the Nate of it all.
Cassie has been pissing me off all season. And while most people painted Jules as the villain since season 1 (wrongly so), this is legitimately the first episode where I don’t like Jules.
I’m conclusion…
same person, different font

Anyone notice that besides the bonus episodes, this is only the second time Rue doesn’t narrate the episode. This and the carnival episode, apart from the opening monologues, Rue just lets the story tell itself. And they are both the fourth episode of their season. Sam’s writing might be shaky, but his way of storytelling and using callbacks is really good. All that to say the no narration must mean something.

Rue is not dead and is not about to die…
I feel like that should be made very clear. Rue imagined she was at a church service, not her funeral. Plus we know that when she’s really high she hallucinates like she did with the “All for Us” music scene last season when everyone was like *oh she died*. She didn’t die. She may be having a mini overdoes, but she ain’t dead and not about to be no time soon. She’s either going to overdose again, like when Gia found her, or she’s going to go through horrible withdrawals.
Plus Rue is a lot based of off Sam Levison’s life and personal experiences and he made it out the other side. And who actually thinks they go kill off Zendaya. She’s the top billed star, brings in a good chunk of the viewers, and is a producer on the show. Rue is safely alive. - - - - - - - - But once again if I am wrong, this whole post gets deleted

The thing about Rue’s addiction…
in season 1 was that we saw more of how it affected Rue physically. We saw her overdose. When she was on fentanyl she said she was so happy, but we saw what that actually looked like to Fez and Jules.
Now in season 2, we’re seeing how Rue’s addiction is affecting her personality more. When she’s high she’s high. No pun intended, but she’s euphoric. And because now she’s using heroin and fentanyl at such readily available and high rate, the second she starts to come down she starts experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Namely sweats and more noticeably, her lashing out and being a bitch to Ali and Jules so that she can get away and get to her drugs. Plus Rue is manipulating her sister and gaslighting her into thinking she’s only smoking weed. And she can’t even feel sex with Jules.
Who says this show glorifies drug use, because I never saw it as that. We see a lot of third person POV on Rue’s drug use and it’s rarely, if ever, has been glorified.
