Being a "poser" has never been about dress or aesthetic

In fact, posers usually co-op the aesthetic and dress.

Being a poser means you don't fit in the sub culture and you're just trying to look "cool" or "edgy" or whatever

It literally does not matter how you dress. When I was in highschool you could be emo and dress in Hollister it didn't fucking matter.

I hate this "aesthetic culture" that tiktok has created.

My kitty Riley (aka babychunk) had to be put down today. I didn’t get to say goodbye because I was in theater, my family didn’t know anything was wrong until I was already dropped off and by the time they took her to the vet there was nothing they could do. My dad keeps saying that it’s not a big deal bc it’s just a cat but she was really my safe place in the house and was my biggest comfort when things went to shit so I’ll miss her so so so much, if anyone knows how to make this shit hurt less that doesn’t involve me getting blasted please let me know cuz that’s rly my only plan right now.

Tip for curly haired scene kids: Brushing out your hair while dry will give you that perfect poofy hair. All you need after that is some hairspray to keep it in place (although if your anything like me it’ll stay fluffy unless you get it wet) and clips to shape it if you don’t have it cut in a fringe

Part of the subcultures are turning into aesthetics thing that bothers me so much is because it not only removes the community feeling of those subcultures, but also takes away a lot of the comfort that those subcultures bring people. Being a queer, mentally ill, biracial teen is such an isolating experience and getting to listen to music that on some level has people experience the same things I do and then you get to be like “see! I’m not all that crazy! It’s ok there are people like me out there and they’re not dangerous and they live happy lives and maybe I’ll get to have that to!”

When I first discovered the goth community I met people who were also into scary weird things (often people who were also adhd) and they didn’t see me as uncomfortable they treated me with respect and not only that saw my passions as things that were really cool.

When I started listening to emo music I found music that actually described how I felt and that maybe life does suck and you don’t have to be happy about it all the time

Idk how important it is to other ppl but gd it’s important 2 me
