Hii!! First of all, i'm glad you find my videos comforting, that is the nicest thing i've heard recently. I'm really glad I'm able to do that :D Second of all- Yeah it's really complicated. I thought about making a video on it later in the future, but it would probably be very controversial and I'm not much of a drama fan so idk. To summarize it as quickly and simply as possible, I think Isaac's asexuality was handled very sloppily, his entire arc was resolved in matter of seconds and he was generally just overlooked and treated poorly by the writers. He is also a stereotype of ace ppl- asocial, not talkative, only cares about his special interests, etc... I'm not saying asexual people like that don't exist, but if you have a show that is all about normalizing queer people and showing their struggles, maybe it isn't the brightest idea to have your only ace character be a painful stereotype. Just felt like an excuse for not giving him any partner/personality (He doesn't care about all this teenage stuff, he's asexual!), and I see that as very harmful. Ofc, my opinion, feel free to disagree :]

Hiyaaa sry if this is completely random or youve got this question before. I was wondering what your script writing process is like??? Ive been looking into making video essays myself but I hit a road block right when I start writing scripts - I ramble way too much and its hard cutting it down, then I lose motivation and move onto the next thing. Do you have a specific process for it? Im interested in how other people do it

Hi! I have hard time with writing scripts too, so i get the struggle. I like starting from the start with the intro, so that I can set the stage for what I'm about to write, but it's not always possible. When I'm having a hard time I just write down the specific parts that I'm passionate about, and then write the rest of the script. It's easier to finish it when you're closer to the end by only rambling your heart out. But yeah it also depends on what type of video you're writing. I don't really cut much out because rambling is my genre :) But yeah good luck with it! I'm finally writing after like 3 months and it's a struggle :D

Hey guys!

First of all, I wanted to wish you all merry christmas!! (or just happy holidays if you don't celebrate). The year is almost over and I really want to thank you for all the support I got over these past few months. I'm really sorry that I disappeared for a while but Ive been very busy with school and life in general. I definitely plan on coming back in the near future tho (whenever that will be), I miss creating and editing and writing scripts and I really can't wait to make another video. I'm gonna answer some asks and then disappear again for a while, hopefully not as long as this time :D

I watched your videos and really enjoyed them!

When you talked about Zheng's character and how she was just sort of there I started to think about how she rescued Lucius for unknown reasons.

I really wish they would have explained why she let him join her crew as the only male member, and what her relationship with him was. Were they friends? Did they care about eachother at all, did he care about anyone else on her ship?

I can't remember a time Lucius and Zheng even interacted outside of her calling him ratboy and him saying he doesn't want to be called that, which is really odd considering she helped him leave a horrible situation and he was employed by her for who knows how long.

Sorry that got so long. Their lack of interactions just felt like such a missed opportunity to develop both of their characters.

Thank you! big agree. so many of these characters were so neglected they just fell flat. its a shame really because little stuff like you mentioned would really help her overall personality and make her feel less out of place

I, like most people, originally thought that the word pacing was a byproduct of the season being shortened. However a David Jenkins Interview on Yahoo entertainment had this to say:

One of the prevalent rumors about Our Flag Means Death this season was that it was originally supposed to be 10 episodes rather than 8. But Jenkins says no; it was always going to be 8. They were looking for ways to cut budget, and moving the production to New Zealand and cutting down the episodes really helped with the bottom line, as well as being better for the cast and crew. "It takes so much to make one episode happen. Every department is strung out by the time you get to the end of the season," he explained.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this because imo it's phrased a little ambiguously where I'm unable to tell whether he always intended for it to be 8 episodes or only after he considered the budget. I may be stupid tho

I think they had a general idea of what they wanted s2 to be about, found out they only have eight episodes for it and didnt consider changing stuff/cutting stuff out, so instead they just slammed it all in there with no care for pacing. But yeah they were still given less budget for s2 than in s1 so i think the main problems there. Sigh

I think I'm done with good omens for now :] Ive talked about everything i wanted to talk about, some people wanted me to make a breakdown of other eps as well but I'm really not as passionate about them as I am about ep 2, and I dont want to force myself into talking about stuff i dont want to.
