If a pairing I like in arthuriana is related in some old texts but in others not and it's confusing what do most people think of that, I'm not in the fandom so I'm not sure what the stance is with who is related to who and if it's ok to ship certain pairings if you do not read them as related
Hi anon!
I can’t speak for what most people think, but I think there are no rules and you can do whatever you want. If we look at the collective Arthurian history, Mordred has been Arthur’s child, his nephew, his brother, his cousin, his enemy of no relation whatsoever, younger, older, the same age. Characters are tools one utilizes to tell a story. They aren’t real. They have no autonomy. It’s my belief you can use characters however you require, even if someone else used them another way.
That’s not to say everyone will like it. But that’s not the point, they don’t have to like it. I still think you have the right to use the characters however you want to. It requires no justification. It’s your creative endeavor and that is reason enough.
Happy writing!

Oh Lancelot, loved by the king, loved by the queen
Another Arthuriana idea I had for a while. Guinevere design is much inspired by William de Leftwich Dodge illustration

Flower Festival
(For @queer-ragnelle’s May Day Parade!)
One of Guinevere’s ladies on a dawn ride with her beloved steed. She's making the most of the nice late spring weather and planning on picking many beautiful flowers to bring back to Camelot.
