Okay since I could come home early today I tried a reprint 10% bigger. I'll still try to widen the neck hole on the smaller head and compare again.
...And if I can't still dceide after à good night of sleep I'll do a last print at only 5% bigger AND widened neck hole. At this point I'm not at à few meters of filament more or less 😅
Idk whatto do with all these failed heads though. Creepy décorations ?

I saw someone posting about their dolls and of course they labeled it a "bjd" which is just an abbreviation of Ball jointed doll, but I saw a ton of people hating on them and calling them a pervert??
The dolls were like normal doll anatomy, they thought the user was a pervert because they assumed "bjd" meant "blowjob doll" 🙄

Pseudo BJD OC. Tried making it scary looking but all the faces I make end up looking cute. Kinda proud of the anatomy on this one, but I´m scared of posting it anywhere else cause it looks kinda horny lmao.

Why are doll sculptors afraid of ass. Male doll, female doll, something else entirely -- doesn't matter. None of them have an ass. Absolutely criminal amounts of asslessness in this hobby. Telesthes14 and Dr4g0n make the most gorgeous guns out suns out titted up 85cm doll, and yet. Where's his ass, T&D? Where the Fuck is his Ass!

Real question: are doll pasties a thing? What does one do to resolve the pointy nips + fit t-shirt situation? I have a bra for her but the lace makes the material bunch up a lot. It just looks like it’s eternally cold. - Sincerely, new to resin girls with pointy nips.

I have a bit of a silly question: why are most bjds anatomically correct? More specifically, why do some come with interchangeable dongs of different sizes? I've even seen some come with snakes or a random, disembodied hand instead. My best guess is because they're under the art doll category, so they just can be anatomically correct (and maybe the artists have hella fun sculpting those parts lol). I find it both amusing and confusing!
Okay, okay, it's ding-dong season here? 🤣
Snakes aside, BJDs are anatomically correct because for asians anatomy it's not a cause of shame. Imagine if you get a doll without a leg just because a specific culture it's ashamed of limbs for some reason? 😆
The problem it's westerns views on the matter, our "church morals" and "sculpted underwear" on Barbie and Ken dolls perception of "how dolls should look like".
Let's remember that there was actually a time in which we called these dolls ABJD, "A" standing for "Asian", therefore reflecting this was asian culture engraved on a doll that had ball jointed system like previous european ones, but framed the standards of beauty and culture from Asia.
Just like most female dolls have small feet and bigger eyes, or male dolls look rather androgynous, one of the first times ABJDs were marked as the appeal of western culture was with Iplehouse, who started to make bulky masculine full of "western beauty features" just like their female lines sometimes appearing more like a (p0rn) ideal model in regards to the "proportions" and face.
Then, soon after, since this was an adult hobby (there were NO recasts back then and it was considered that only, or at least "mostly" working adults were the only consumers of these dolls because how else a normal 10yo kid would pay for a $750+100 on shipping doll?), People started to relate their characters with their adult fanfiction with the hobby of photography. Therefore generating a demand of "different posed weenies", to take "intimate pictures" of such characters.
And at first, this "articulated" or "interchangeable" parts weren't by no means the norm. They were offered by some lesser known brand companies. But as they became a hit with fans, just like, DikaDoll/SOOM "jointed hands", eventually many other companies jumped on the selling wagon of different interchangeable 🍆🍆's.
Fast forwarding to "when companies run out of ideas" (*ahem*) when more options were added (crazy ones because everything else had been invented for the most part and the companies were still looking to being trending in new innovative ways, which is crazy because dolls have exist since almost the dawn of humankind, so there isn't much to add, at least at certain point), "fantasy ding dong" parts were made in a desperate try to captive buyers, AND, there you have the ""snake parts"", or the BJDs that are just a weenie with arms and legs (I'm SO not making this up, I swear, Google it, seriously, you might redefine many concepts of your existence).
So! Why do we have it? Normal anatomically correct dolls were a cultural gap. Interchangeable p parts were made for kinky adult photography from fans, AND, "snake parts" or such were a late attempt to capture buyers with something unique, but... it didn't went as planned.
That's pretty much it.

Im going to try and make a ball jointed doll !
This is the V1 arm. Maybe it's a bit too buff lol
Had already tried to print a bjd a few years ago but it was on my school computer so I could do too many attempts. It ended up very floppy and the proportion were bleh. I have gotten better at anatomy and engineering since, so I hope this one goes better! 🙏

okay now I have to know how much a porcelain body might weight? Sure it varies depending on height and build but say comparing to an average human of the same build?
Okay I’ve been trying to find a ratio but can’t find anything particularly helpful for this instance so... anywhere from 225-300 lbs./102-136 kg.??
It would vary depending on height and weight and build but that’s my best guess :’D
That being said I found a really neat blog that I think goes really well into what a porcelain would’ve had to go through to make their body with their witch! (link)
