Every king eventually brings out their own money. The Pendragon crest is naturally on one side, but the King's face normally goes on the other.

And Arthur does that, or intends to. But when he talks to the guy who is meant to get his profile, Arthur can't help but ask what kind of other symbols he could use. At first, he asks if he could put other people on it, then he figures that it would probably be too controversial if he put a face on the coin that isn't his own.

Then he asks if it could be a bird, like his mother's sigil. Originally, he wants to honor her, but then Merlin walks in to gather his clothes and it suddenly strikes him that Merlin has done so much for him, and never gotten any reward.

And Arthur doesn't mean his servant work, Merlin is rubbish at that. But what about his council? His advice? The fact that Merlin always speaks his mind, yet always has Arthur's and Camelot's best interest at heart. The fact that Merlin always goes out of his way to fight alongside Arthur, despite not being a knight.

In an emotional outburst, (after Merlin left again) Arthur orders the coin guy to make the other side of his coin a Merlin.

Right after that, he realizes what he's done and drowns his embarrassment in wine.

A couple weeks later, the money is created and put out into the kingdom. And everyone immediately connects the dots. The symbol is only on the golden one.

The day Merlin finds out is a normal day at first. Only that everyone is staring holes into his head and whispers about him. Merlin has been send to get Arthur's new shirts and hands the tailor a golden coin. He hands it to him, then stops and stares at the crest.

Merlin: Arthur???? What the fuck is this?

Arthur: *sweats* your salary?

I honestly like that you can treat all the old comics as Dick’s history. (Maybe with a few exceptions, such as the first version of Jason Todd, who was a Golden age Dick Grayson clone...) But it has to be confusing to be a DC writer when everyone can pick their own history, seeing as some characters have very different versions of their backstory. You never know how many recent comics you are contradicting…

My take/designs on the pevensies! (They’re definitely heavily inspired by their looks in the movies.)

Beginning of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe

End of golden age-ish

I’d call this a WIP but it’s not really, mostly once we get into designing clothes in fantasy settings I feel very out of my depth, but I wanna practice more. I’m the most happy with Lucy’s but that’s also cause I most heavily referenced with hers.

Im mostly still just figuring out the clothes design for when they’re in narnia. I want brighter/more jewel toned and warmth to contrast with the more muted London clothes. And for the clothing design I want embroidery, but other than that I have no idea how I would make the designs of the narnian style in this era cohesive.

I also have vague main colours for each of them, lucy green, secondary red, edmund blue secondary brown, Susan purple secondary blue, Peter red secondary purple, and all of them use gold as well.

I love the music of Ethel Cain/Hayden Anhedonïa, she is my favourite musical artist, however I cannot stand some of her fanbase. She has spoken before on live about how she left tumblr due to the behaviour of her fanbase, and how people are becoming incapable of having meaningful conversation and just send "mother!" Comments. Her music is so beautiful and well crafted and I wish people would treat her more as an artist than an idol. I know this may seem hypocritical coming from someone who's username is "saintcaindoll" but I joined tumblr to interact with other ethel cain fans and to be able to further connect with her work, not to say "ethel cain is so mother". it's annoying. When people act this way about artists like Taylor Swift, who are multi millionaires and more disconnected from their fans, it makes sense, however hayden used to genuinely take time to interact with her fans on social media, and has a much smaller audience which I truly do love about her. However, I just wish that people would engage with her work more thoughtfully sometimes.
