Right, let's take it from the top.

Neopets was under the JumpStart brand for, let's say, the better part of the last decade? JumpStart itself is owned by Netdragon. I- Okay, let's skip the corporate summaries. JumpStart, who owned Neopets, went under just last month, not even three weeks ago. So, Neopets was sorta left... Adrift? Publically, at least. Right before JumpStart's plunge, the management, Dominic Law (who apparently had a Shoyru himself back in the day!) bought out the Neopets brand, and now Neopets is an independent company, World of Neopia, Inc..

That's the short of it.

With a management buyout comes a direct injection of funding that Neopets wasn't getting under JumpStart's management, so now the much larger TNT is going to try and revitalize Neopets.com!!! They want to move the older Flash games onto Ruffle, before converting as many games as they can to HTML5! They want to make Neopets mobile-friendly (I hope this mean Lutaris can visit their island again...)! They want to REINTRODUCE NEOHOMES (I have SO MUCH bottled sand!)!!! They want to introduce... A new plot????? After all this time????

Neopets Metaverse is... Going to remain up, but it's not going to be developed for, it seems??? Apparently they're just going to scavenge it for parts???

World of Neopets is going to be the game they're bringing those part to, and it's apparently going to be more along the lines of KeyQuest and Habitarium. It'll be a social life simulator where you live as a Neopet and travel through Neopia, it seems. I'm not expecting full third-person Tron things, but I do want to see how they do. Also:

I had a lot of fics this month. Every one of these deserves a dedicated post of its own but in the interest of efficiency this roundup will have to do!

The Lois Angle by cabezas_de_vaca (gen), 15k, Bruce & Lois Friendship, Case Fic What she had with Bruce was novel, exhilarating. She had fallen in love several times, and that was like a great swoop of a wing, a flash and flush and then long tumble, but this was like a warmth that welled up from within. This was Bruce grappling up to her thirtieth story Metropolis apartment, stowing the Batsuit in the bathroom, and watching StarTrek with her. This was her driving to the manor when she couldn't sleep, only to find she could do it there. This was having a friend. Or: Despite the long shadow Batman casts and the demands of being one of the youngest Pulitzer winners ever, Bruce and Lois manage to steady each other, in the way that only friends can. Also, there's a case they need to solve. 

the scientific method by orphan_account (gen), 20k, Sibling Bonding, Duke-centric 5 stupid ways Duke's siblings discovered how his powers worked, and 1 time he figured it out for himself. "You have no idea," Dick said. "I had to live through all of their teenage years. They were each independently obsessed with Mythbusters at separate points in their life. I'm pretty sure Cass and Tim have wanted a meta to experiment on since they were 14, but Bruce always said no."

Meet Me Where You're Going by Hinn_Raven (Stephanie Brown/Cassandra Cain), 68k, Slow Burn, Mutual Pining When things get complicated in Hong Kong, Cass requests help from Batman Inc. Unbeknownst to her, Bruce dispatches not one of her brothers, but Stephanie Brown, who Cass has not spoken to since she gave up the Batgirl mantle. Steph is eager to reunite with her best friend, but things between them are complicated. Not the least of the problems is the fact that Steph might be falling in love… but of course, Cass is straight, so Steph really shouldn’t dwell on that. Friendship and romance, conspiracy and adventure await the two of them as they try to unravel a complicated plot that seeks to stop Batman Incorporated before it can truly begin.

when you move, fall like a thunderbolt by orphan_account (Stephanie Brown/Cassandra Cain), 5k, Villain!Steph, Canon Divergence In another universe, Stephanie Brown's plans to kill her father aren't interrupted by Batman. Which means nobody stops her from tripping and falling headlong into running her own gang, and then a little more intentionally rising to the top of the underworld. Meanwhile, seeing as Bruce only has one kid who actually wants to carry on the good name, Cassandra Cain takes over as the Batman of Gotham's future. This would be a fine turn of events if it weren't for the fact that they've been dating on-and-off for ten years.

falling without caution by coffeecrowns (gen), 17k, Bad Parent!Bruce, PTSD Jason is twenty, decidedly less into murder, trying to avoid developing agoraphobia, and putting together some pieces into a life. Tim is sixteen, riding the edge of burnout, and in a show of his truly baffling survival instincts, decides Jason is friend shaped. 

MICE ON VENUS by NEOCULTUREDAUS (gen), 3k, Tim & Damian Bonding “Timothy, if this is revenge for me trying to kill you, I need you to know I’m not sorry.” Damian’s eyes were clamped shut, hands fisting Tim’s hoodie so tightly that if Tim tried moving, he simply wouldn't be able to. “I’m not trying to get revenge. And open your eyes, you can’t ride a skateboard with them closed.” Tim patronized, prying Damian’s hands off him, you know, like someone evil who didn’t care for the wellbeing of his younger brother. Or The one where skater Tim takes his artist younger brother graffiti painting

So Sweet Saluteth Me by Lishalalalalala (gen), 7k, Good Dad!Bruce Sleep deprived™ Jason hangs out with Dick then they surprise Bruce at work with early lunch and some love. This fic is inspired by farmers’ markets on those summery days and the belief that if I run fast enough the sad can never catch me. (I mean you are telling me that Bruce Thomas/Alan Wayne wouldn’t be absolutely BASKING in joy if his kids just decided to randomly show up at Wayne Enterprise and pay him a little midday visit? )

to count by miles or days or people (when will i stop missing you) by jcp_sob_rjl_lmep (gen), 22k, Angst, Hurt/Comfort When Duke is kidnapped off of the streets of Gotham on his way back to the Manor from visiting his parents, it sends the entire Batfamily into a panic. With very little evidence to go on and time slipping past them, there's no help coming as Duke is forced to make a grand escape and get himself home before his kidnappers find him once more.

birds and brothers and other assorted synonyms by Ao3time, hoebiwan, quandaries_and_contradictions (gen), 21k, Series, Found Family A Reverse Robin AU in which Damian is a tired older brother, Duke is a ray of sunshine, and Dick is a baby talon.

Emergency rooms and chicken nuggets by Lilac_hyacinth (Bernard Dowd/Tim Drake) 7k “So…” Duke drawled, sounding suspiciously wide-awake for the day shift kid at two-thirty in the morning. “If I said Damian and I are in a bit of trouble, on a scale of Jason to Cass, how likely are you to kill us?” Clearing his throat and rubbing his eyes to try to wake himself up, Tim grimaced. “What the fuck did you do?” “Nothing.” Or Tim and Bernard get out of bed at two in the morning to go across town and pick up Tim's reckless little brothers.

This small crew flies among the alien planets and heavenly bodies of the Spyre Galaxy in The Hangman, a modest, capsule-shaped ship that is kitted out for a simplistic life of scavenging. Their exemplary teamwork has allowed them to survive over two years of sand worm encounters, haunted mines, roving packs of blood-thirsty thresher wolves, and narrow escapes from collapsing and crumbling ruins – all by the age of twenty. In short, these youths know their shit. …Which is why it’s so frustrating that they’ve hit a run of bad luck recently.

WhaleTimes created Hagfish Day (in 2009) to celebrate the beauty of ugly. Hagfish are the perfect example. These deep-sea scavengers ooze buckets of slime. They also play an important role in their ecosystem. WhaleTimes believes repugnant and slightly revolting animals like hagfish make great role models for highlighting conservation concerns for all marine animals. “Sometimes it seems as if ecological causes are popularity contests that exclude the less attractive and less well-known, though equally vulnerable, creatures,” said WhaleTimes Director Ruth Musgrave. “There are species in peril that kids never hear about.”

I would love to secretly be Mystery Inc.’s worst nemesis (responsible for like 90% of the stuff they deal with, dressing up as different monsters every week) and then be best friends in public. Trying to find out who i am would drive them apart but my civilian alter ego would always be above suspicion. I would bring them cups of coffee and ask if they had any new leads while i listen to their latest theories about who i am.

shaggy and scooby would discover my identity by accident but i would buy their silence with scooby snacks until they felt too guilty and told the gang but fred would be too frustrated from realising his latest trap to capture me has failed, Daphne’s trying to identify the make-up brand of the lipstick I used to write my most recent ominous note to the gang (it’s her’s) and Velma’s analysing a soil sample from some boots I planted at a crime scene. In short no one takes Shaggy and Scooby seriously.

The growing tension causes mystery inc to split up (i stay friends with all of them) and then I realise that the thrill has gone out of what i do and that I’m rich enough now to stop stealing treasure so i decide to get the Gang back together years later. (Shaggy has long-since forgotten who I am)

i beg them to investigate one last mystery together for their old friend’s sake and of course they do bc they owe me a lot of favours over the years. In the process of investigating the monster supposedly menacing me, i would force them to do group activities together (think an escape room/scavenger hunt but they don’t realise they’re doing it) and it would remind them that they love working together and they would get back together.

I finally let them capture me and they ask why i have done this and i tell them the truth but I’m such a good friend that instead of turning me in they pretend the monster got away and invite me to join mystery inc., i do and provide them with valuable insight into the ppl they’re trying to catch

Creek Fest is here! It's bigger and better than ever this year, with tons of fun, fall-related things to see and do in the Hideaway Market!

Firstly, don't miss out on the various shop fronts and tents and booths that are set up in the shopping centers of Hideaway Market. In the center of the Market, you can find several food and drink tents, as well as face painting and games set up for the kids -- such as corn hole, the corn pit, a scavenger hunt and much more! There is also a stage set up for live performances (click here)!

There is a 'DIY Station' in the middle of Hideaway Market's center, where you will be able to paint and carve pumpkins, stuff your own scarecrows, make wreaths and floral arrangements, and much more for all of your fall décor needs.

Transportation in the form of hay rides is available to take you to the following places:

Harmony Ranch -- where you can participate in the corn maze (and sunflower maze!) and buy a few good dairy products, as well as end of season farmer's market goodies. petting zoo & pony rides set up, as well (for anyone from kid aged to adults).

Lavender Lane -- grab all the pumpkins, mums and fall flowers that you might need for your decorating seasons! gift cards are available for those who want to pick up at a later time, too.

Black Creek -- visit the creek for staged photos and a nature walk along the trail to enjoy one of our favorite features of Merrock, guided by park rangers.

Sunrise Orchard -- a quick trip to the orchard to grab a ton of apples, so you can make some delicious apple pie!

The Festival will be open from 10AM until 8PM EST every night, so there's plenty of time to get out and enjoy everything that you want to enjoy. Have fun! xx

Can we know a little more about your Paranormal Inc.? I watch the teaser every time I come into your blog and I am very intrigued

Sure! It’s this little project I’ve been developing. I want it to be an animated show on YouTube about two friends who come across something strange and spooky-something they weren’t meant to see, and they go on little ghost adventures, collecting clues along the way that eventually reveal a dark secret the town they are living in(Gittata Town) was trying to hide.

-I’m going to voice the main character in the show, Sam, a girl who’s super into murder mysteries and paranormal activity

-Her best friend is Greggory, a tall nerd boy who likes comic books and superheroes, and him and Sam live in a roof shack

There’s three main ghosts that appear in the show, and somehow all of their stories are connected

Mr. Handman, Ms. Iris, and the dreadful KYLE SMILES

This is still just an idea, I want to get a tablet with clip studio paint so I could animate this to my full potential, rather than just doing everything on Flip a Clip, which limits my abilities

I’ve recently began writing the first episode script, tho! I’ve abandoned this for a while because I lost a lot of concept work and writing for it :(

Two new leaders in one year? Morsteth demoted from his perch in Grim Gest? Hopping from one guild to another, the PCU is a swiftly melting Iceberg and we love to see it.

Perroy, in exile. Gruggosh, missing in action. Morsteth, deported.

PCU status? A circus on fire. Hotel? Trivago.

The Rotgarde, the longest standing guild within the PCU, the originator in fact, has all but disbanded and gone into sleep mode (hopefully to never awaken again).

Hand of Conquest, reduced to memeposting and mixtapes on their guild thread with the disappearance of Gruggosh, spiralling the drain until they find something new and shiny to latch onto.

Grim Gest, inactive since Morsteth made his big no no remarks. A guild built around a cult of personality with half of its members being die hard alt-righters and the other half being passive and compliant (until recently at least)? Of course there is a schism. Those who supported Morsteth have gone with him and Perroy to Neverwinter Nights.

The Dustpaw Caravan, a dead guild with more sleazy ERP hiding under the surface than any other vulpera guild, just keep it quiet. Want an actual genuine Vulpera experience? Try the Dust Scavengers.

Ronin, the Pandaren cabal that tried to become the sole Pandaren guild on Argent Dawn, 106 characters reduced to 7 online at any one time.

Order of Oronaar, A Draenei guild more obsessed with purity testing and organising bullying campaigns in their own guild discord server than actually engaging in Draenei RP, oh and cannibalizing other Draenei guilds that pop up.

Ardent Pursuit, the Argent Guild that has systematically harassed any Argent RPer not in their guild into joining if they operate in Lordaeron. A guild that can't seem to decide if it's PCU or not, though more often or not too ashamed to advertise their affiliation.

Dirge of Teldrassil, joining a long line of Night Elf orientated guilds that get superseded by the lore and bogged down in their own internal egotism. The guild itself has no longer any use, Night Elf lore has moved on from Teldrassil, the Alliance and Horde are co-existing and the age of Ashenvale skirmishes are over.

BOOMTEC Inc, surprisingly thriving ever since they left the PCU. Funny how guilds immediately start thriving once they're no longer in a cult eh?

The only PCU guilds that can even attest to regular activity these days appear to be Red Venturers, Cleft of Shadows and Painted Shields. Few in number perhaps but consistent at least.

The diehards have already jumped ship into their security guilds (mostly on Alliance no less) with Sword of Triumph (Hello Teyha/Swordmaster) and House Bemoux (Elfguild master Lunarglade repainted as a human noble guild) and many of its other former members scattering across the remaining 'Northern' RP guilds on the server, hoping and praying they won't be found out.

Indeed, it has been entertaining to watch though we do encourage the PCU to shrivel up quicker please.

Upon accidentally bringing the Attendant onto their ship, Reader now has to deal with a very unstable robot that wants to kill them when it gets too dark, they have to deal with a particular purple virus that threatens the stability of their ship, and they have to do it all whilst avoiding the very aggressive Fazbear Inc. that's all too keen to cover up its faults.

I had a dream where there was a fire and the Fazbear company wanted both to make a lot of money and have a publicity stunt so there was like…A scavenger hunt you could pay to enter and whoever brought the animatronic of their choice their associated item first got to keep them. Anyway dream me won but I was low key cheating because it was a dream and I knew what to do for stuff

If I remember correctly it was themed so the one I was doing was a Jack in the box, a password to an escape room, a balloon animal with a tiny key in it, a jewelry box full of other keys(two of which were necessary), and one final key to open a big toy chest to get, wait for it, ANOTHER KEY! You thought the last one was the last one? No! It was a wind up key though, like for a really big toy

Also in the dream everyone was pissed the glamrocks either weren’t available or wouldn’t be for a while. Several people won mini music men but they all agreed to wait to see who won DJMM so they “could keep them all together”

And to top it all off there was someone cheating at them who everyone said definitely worked for the company

That sounds like some shit Fazbear Entertainment, Inc.™ would pull.
